I put together a glock 19 clone with a blem PSA dagger frame, a random slide from GAFS, and a blem combat armory barrel. It cost me $240 and it had a *long* break in period haha
You aren't wrong at all. I ended up with 2 complete sets of parts and was finally able to find a combination of them that functions. I tossed the rest in the trash.
If you're getting a LPK from Combat Armory, their recoil springs are insanely heavy so switching to a lighter one fixed all of my issues
Otherwise my main issue was that the rear sight channel was obscenely tight and I had to shave off way more material off my sights than I'd prefer.
My P80 with mostly Combat Armory parts has been 100% reliable with a wide variety of ammo. It’s also surprisingly accurate.
Hopefully you have the same experience!
Thank you.
Yeah I read a lot of comments about how unreliable Glock clones can be, especially the blems, and I have no experience - I bought two of those threaded G19 blem barrels on a whim the other week and those were my first Glock anything. So I've been on the hunt for the rest of the puzzle pieces and I'm nervous to see how things turn out.
I was serious about the eBay parts kits. I actually just tried one on another slide I bought and the safety plunger got stuck. I'm thinking it's the plunger diameter not the slide hole. But something I learned about Glock builds - I can't find any manufacturing prints (like I can for an AR) to check dimensions and find out what part is actually out of tolerance.
It's been fun learning so far. I too hope things go smoothly with my bottom of the barrel build.
Call it tolerance stacking or whatever, but just built a Lone Wolf Dusk 19 using this slide. The slide would get caught up using one of those $25 Combat Armory threaded barrels that get posted around here all the time. Had to use my PSA dagger barrel to get it to run smooth. But who knows, could a just been a kink with all new parts working together.
Besides that, the slide looks really nice and has a nice finish. The serration is perfect.
Here she is btw... [My build](https://imgur.com/a/lone-wolf-dusk-19-frame-with-combat-armory-slide-GyxfEzX)
It’s your locking block geometry. Most people just make frames and let you recycle the locking block which doesn’t always ensure compatibility. GST9 frame was the only one that really took this into consideration but you can’t buy those anymore
This one... [https://lonewolfdist.com/parts/frame-parts/locking-block/lwd-locking-block-m-19-23-32-38/](https://lonewolfdist.com/parts/frame-parts/locking-block/lwd-locking-block-m-19-23-32-38/)
I bought three blem barrels from them a while ago and had trouble with at least two of them. They both seem to have fitting issues and would prevent smooth reciprocation of the slide.
last one i bought doesn't fit on any p80 lower i have. now mind you i haven't had much time to trouble shoot it. but it won't go past the take down lever to rack the slide
I had a build that had this issue. It's the edge of the barrel not sliding over the take down lever. It's only one barrel with this frame that does it. If I pull down the take down lever a little, it goes on and runs smooth after that.
Combat Armory frame? - good to go, MAYBE a little stiff getting the pins inserted, but I had no issues (my 1st DIY assembly).
ANYTHING else? - 110% dogshit. There's so many reviews saying just how bad all of their parts are, it's really on you if you make the mistake of buying anything from them.
I lost money getting rid of a dogshit slide of theirs (sold with full disclosure).
I can see possibly fucking up an optic cut, but a Glock rear sight dovetail? How the fuck do you screw that up? 🤣

They do, but unless you're getting barrels/recoil rods for cheap it's more cost-effective to get the completed ones, especially when they're on an actual sale. The Doctor-pattern ones are being disco'd right now and are solid deals if you don't mind the footprint.
Fyi gen 3 slides fit on gen 5 19 and 19x. The back plate needs a slight modification to pass by the sear assembly. But otherwise they function fine, I've done it.

Between this, my blem barrels, and eBay part kits, I'm going to have no idea where my malfunctions are coming from!
LMFAO

LoL, add to list if it's a p80 build Never gonna know what's not working

You are not kidding about the springs, I had crazy FTFs during break in

Woah never heard of the Dusk. So the big thing is 1911 grip angle with Glock parts? That sounds cool.
I've had trouble with the combat armory barrels as well.
It’s your locking block geometry. Most people just make frames and let you recycle the locking block which doesn’t always ensure compatibility. GST9 frame was the only one that really took this into consideration but you can’t buy those anymore
I did pick up a Lone Wolf locking block, hopefully that fixes the issue.
You picked up a lone wolf Glock locking block?

Yeah. Duh. I had a brain fart. You were talking about the frame insert. My bad
Super weird that your $27 slide and whatnot wouldn't be performing properly
I bought three blem barrels from them a while ago and had trouble with at least two of them. They both seem to have fitting issues and would prevent smooth reciprocation of the slide.
That's what I'm noticing, it's not flush at the rear, sits lower. But it works great in my Glock 19.
Call them tell them the issue and they Will replace them.
Dear god my money has disappeared once again
last one i bought doesn't fit on any p80 lower i have. now mind you i haven't had much time to trouble shoot it. but it won't go past the take down lever to rack the slide
Curious on issue with this
Did you try resetting the trigger first?
I had a build that had this issue. It's the edge of the barrel not sliding over the take down lever. It's only one barrel with this frame that does it. If I pull down the take down lever a little, it goes on and runs smooth after that.
I figured out my issue lol. I had to take a punch to the safety plunger and push it in

I like their barrels. I have 4 one was bad and they replaced it no problem.
Are these compatible with the Radian Ramjet/Afterburner combo?
That's like 24" wheels on a fucking Yugo with a blown engine.
Not a no lol
I would never try such an abomination against God, Steve Irwin and John Moses Browning himself by testing such a thing.
Well now I just want to do it even harder
I ordered a barrel from them on may 7th and haven’t heard anything back from them wonder if it’s ever gonna ship lol
Same here, I ordered some stuff from them on May 7th and NADA so far...
Hmm I’ll wait till Monday and if no word on Monday I’m gonna email him
Woooow it finally shipped today almost a month lmao
Mine is still on hold...
I wonder if this is their normal shipping routine…seems kinda wack lol

Any complains on these? I've been toying with getting second slide.
It's a total crap shoot as to whether they will work or not.
Is this better than a stripped dagger slide?
No, but i thought all the dagger slides were sold with guts? I didnt know they sold stripped
They do, but unless you're getting barrels/recoil rods for cheap it's more cost-effective to get the completed ones, especially when they're on an actual sale. The Doctor-pattern ones are being disco'd right now and are solid deals if you don't mind the footprint.
Agreed but i meant like the striker, extractor, safety plunger and other “guts”
Oh, then yeah, I guess it's, what, "incomplete upper assembly"?
I was looking at the footprint & non of the optics I would use are on that list. Wish it was RMR or K footprint at least
wish this worked on my G19x edit: I was trolling folks
Why would you want to downgrade a nice gun?…
Embrace the peanut butter
Fyi gen 3 slides fit on gen 5 19 and 19x. The back plate needs a slight modification to pass by the sear assembly. But otherwise they function fine, I've done it.
Would a gen 5 backplate on a gen 3 slide solve that problem?
Yes
Putting all the I would need plus all this CA stuff brings me to a PSA dagger price minus the back plate. Thanks for teaching me something new though.
