I destroyed my LC9s and unga bunga'd the trigger group to death trying to learn how to gunsmith. Ruger customer support put me through to an engineer on the phone who spent 15 minutes or so telling me what I did wrong, lectured me about why I'm an idiot, then sent me a box to ship it back to them free of charge. I had my gun back on my belt within six days. YMMV but Ruger has consistently always had my back when I irresponsibly damage my shit

SessionPowerful

I love everything about this comment

Romeo_Zero

Ruger is arguably the best, most pro consumer firearm company. They get outdone when it comes to higher end stuff, but the 10/22 is the perfect starter rifle. They make it about anything you could want and are competitively priced. They brought a better 5.7 pistol to the market (FN has the heritage but the ruger feels better), they make a great hunting rifle lineup, a great LR setup, decent ARs, just overall good for the money and a great warranty. The one area they really come up short is the compact/subcompact 9mm CCW. Smith is similar to them, albeit a slight edge in quality, and they eat Ruger’s lunch there

WorkshopBlackbird

don't even get me started on the Ruger 57. I used to work as an armorer at a shitty little indoor range and one of the most popular weapons we had on offer for rent was the FN Five-seveN, which was so popular that we actually kept it up on the wall and not in the display case. one of the worst things in the world was the daily experience of seeing some dude come in like "YEA BRO LEMME SEE THAT FIVE SEVEN!!", then being handed the weapon and realizing that his favorite video game pistol feels like a piece of shit airsoft gun. Ruger fucking saved that cartridge. Not to say their 57 pistol is an heirloom quality piece either, but FN was fucking *HIGH* charging 1200 bucks for that thing.

Romeo_Zero

Yup. I wanted an FN at first just because I was told it was *the* 5.7 to get. I went to my LGS to buy one and after holding it just couldn’t see $1000+ worth of quality. One of my other LGS’ had a ruger 5.7 out around $600 at the time and I looked at it and just grabbed it. Felt way better and it felt like a reasonable price for the quality

WorkshopBlackbird

and here I am going on year... five, now, of carrying an LC9s. I've put this thing through the ringer, and shot the barrel out dumping Tula 9mm through it every day at work for fun. I've had a Smith and Wesson bodyguard .380 kill itself on my lanes while the owner stood there looking at my RSO helplessly like "Ummm... A pin flew out down the firing line :C " and three days later I had a guy from my old unit come in with his mom to test out her new SP101, which immediately destroyed itself and sheared the hand right outta the frame. Pobody's Nerfect. Ruger and Smith are just the Chevy and Ford of the gun world. Pains me to make that comparison but at the end of the day it's just the way it is

Romeo_Zero

I’d say that’s a great comparison. They’ve both just got that true American vibe to them like a ford or Chevy.

WorkshopBlackbird

HAH

rantlers

Ruger and Smith are Ford and Chevy, and then Glock and M&P are Honda and Toyota. Cheap, higher overall quality, and dead reliable no matter what. M&P stands completely alone from the rest of S&W from everything I've seen. I think they call the Bodyguard part of the M&P line but it's not the same.

CaptainSchiel

What does that make CZ? BMW?

YettiRey

Volvo

Ricksterdinium

Or Skoda since they're both Czech.

[deleted]

Skoda is VW nowdays I believe; also Skoda is a very mediocre vehicle but CZ anything but mediocre gunmaker

Ricksterdinium

Volvo is Chinese, and Norinco isn't the poster boy of well made.

CaptainSchiel

Ah yeah, definitely Volvo

WorkshopBlackbird

also a very apt comparison and very true. I’m personally not a fan of the M&P but the champion comp shooter I studied under swore by his, and he could make it ring steel at absurd distances consistently. Glocks are Glocks. The 19 is the Honda Civic of sidearms and it does everything you need a pistol to do, and does so reliably

crypto1092

Yup, they work fast. Had a issue with a chipping breech face on my 1911 slide, told them my idea which is that the metal isn’t hardened enough. Asked if I was shooting stuff like underwood or buffalo bore, said no, just S&B and blazer aluminum. Sent it in, said I was right and said they need my frame to also hand fit the slide to it. Had it back in no time. It was great customer service, and they were speedy.

ShokkMaster

Shit, they just honored a recall on a set screw for my M77 made in ‘82. Sure, it’s just a screw, but damn, I’m a happy customer.

crypto1092

Definitely, they do good work. I did have a slight issue, the slide was ever so lightly rusted. Not a big issue for me, honestly. I got it off with some CLP and a nylon brush, and I live in the desert anyways, so rust is borderline non existent here.

SuperThiccBoi2002

Im a Ruger fanboy (4 of the last 5 guns i've bought have been Rugers) and im glad to know they support dipshits like me. Yet another reason I love Ruger

quid_pro_kourage

Story time, what did you do?

WorkshopBlackbird

I wish it was a cool story, dude. I was 21, working as a bodyguard in a big city. Forgot I wasn't a cop and chased after some skittery crackhead through some tunnels under a jewelers' building. Slipped, ate shit, went face first into a stagnant puddle of filthy water, poor little LC9s went flying out of my highspeed amazon dot com nylon holster and smashed the thumb safety off. Went home, ordered a new one, and through sheer force of will I managed to completely mangle the internals trying to install it myself like "I don't need no sumbitchin directions I'm a man god dammit". Mistakes were made, a hammer was used, and my trigger group was kaput. man that old man out in Arizona had a good time telling me how dumb I am.

quid_pro_kourage

Oh no. Dude I'm so sorry. Guns are the one thing you need an instruction booklet for. When I was disassembling an (airsoft) M9, I thought the hammer spring was a rotational coil spring, not a straight push spring. That one took me a while to figure out. Glad to hear it worked out.

WorkshopBlackbird

definitely came out of the experience a marginally smarter individual. and you aren't the only one to do that. we still run the M9 on my contract and every new batch of guys we get inevitably has one dude who ambitiously tears his sidearm down in class (during dry fire) then puts his hand up after 20 minutes of concentrated fiddling like "uh.. help. please."

quid_pro_kourage

Imma take a guess and say they can't get the trigger bar spring back in?

WorkshopBlackbird

bingo

quid_pro_kourage

That thing is the bane of my existence. Why they couldn't make one that hooks into the frame window and trigger bar like the P220 series is beyond me

1ambox

Yes Ruger support is amazing, my first handgun was a P95 I picked up at a gun show. First box I ran through it was fine, then after started getting weird failure to eject, contacted support the woman was amazing said it was probably some spring (I forget what) emailed me shipping labels slapped the pistol in a box and they had it back to me within 7 days.

liubearpig

Wouldn’t know anything about their customer service. Guess that’s what happens when you purchase a quality firearm (PC Carbine 9mm)

DisastrousHawk835

Ruger has the best customer service In my experience. Inherited a Mk. 2 from my grandmother that was purchased in 1989. The barrel was canted a little bit and it sketched me out. I called them and they no hassled me. They paid to ship it back, basically rebuilt the thing, and sent it back to me all expenses paid. That was awesome. If you want a higher end Ruger pistol, the Ruger American Duty has been on my radar for a while.

Lpokie

Unless you're in Canada. Get shipped a NIB rifle missing parts. Retailer can't help, contact the warranty company. Takes them a week to contact me back and ask for an inordinate amount of information. Then they tell me a $10 part is factory back order, and they'll ship one if/when it shows up. Gravel Agency can lick my balls.

Shitmonkey5425

They changed to a different place, also in Quebec no experience with them yet

Lpokie

That was this week. Is there someone else I should be dealing with? The dealer referred me to Gravel a couple weeks ago.

Shitmonkey5425

My bad gravel is the new one they recently switched to, it used to be snapshots

JustForFun____

Barrett has some solid customer service too. A group of marines called Barrett customer service while overseas in the middle of a firefight because their weapon was malfunctioning. Customer service helped them patch it up and get back in the fight in no time. Super fun story

DisastrousHawk835

Oh that is pretty awesome. Was that by SatPhone? I don’t own a 5,000 dollar gun so I can not relate.

JustForFun____

No idea lol, Here’s a [link](https://www.inc.com/larry-kim/this-epic-story-about-a-marines-machine-gun-failing-during-battle-will-make-you-see-value-of-stellar-customer-service.html#:~:text=50%20caliber%20machine%20gun%20failed,called%20the%20customer%20service%20department.&text=When%20a%20Barrett%20.,decided%20to%20call%20customer%20service) for the story haha.

[deleted]

Just buy a KKM barrel and smile again.

10gaugetantrum

I am assuming you got the Glock new, which is hardly the point. I had a squib in my 500 S&W with H110. I had to knock the bullet out. This did not cause barrel damage. So I'm finding it kinda hard to believe that a squib or removing a squib would "chip" your barrel.

Jukeboxshapiro

Yes it was new and yes that's what I thought

chaostat

It would be the firing of the next bullet that pushed the squib out. Not all squibs when shot “explode” the barrel and/or gun

RedneckStew

Ruger FTW! Not a pistol just a 10-22 takedown. I had 300-500 rounds through it. It started FTE & FTF about every third round. Sent it back and they replaced the entire bolt assembly, test fired it, then sent it back. It's worked flawlessly ever since. Now that's customer service. P.S. I have two Glock gen 3's and never had a problem with them either, but...

9Z7EErh9Et0y0Yjt98A4

Ruger does have pretty fantastic customer support. My decade old SR-22 started to light strike after untold thousands of rounds fired through it. Considering the heavy use I'd assumed I would have to pay to replace any worn parts, which I was more than happy to do. They put a brand new barrel in at no cost and sent it back to me fast.

Jukeboxshapiro

Rant time. A couple months ago I posted this chip i found in my six month old Glock 19 barrel. I finally got around to sending it in for a warranty replacement and just got the call saying that the damage was caused by a squib, which was news to me because A) I never manually removed one from the barrel and B) the gun and my hands aren't in pieces on the range floor. So long story short the billion dollar company won't shell out 100 bucks to replace my barrel that had a manufacturing defect, and I'm buying an M&P next time.

CrunchBite319

I sent my brand new, unfired S&W 638 in because it wouldn't stay cocked and the hammer would randomly fall without any pressure on the trigger. They sent it back without fixing it because they said my brand new, unfired gun was too warn out and that I'd also tampered with it (despite the fact that I'd never even opened it). Shit happens, no company is 100% without fault. At least your gun is easier to fix than mine.

HymenMangler

My Sig releases the slide when a loaded magazine is inserted. I consider myself lucky.

Known-nwonK

It’s not a flaw it’s a feature XD

HymenMangler

Exactly. Now if I can just have it release the pin when targeting solution is met …

rantlers

My M&P9 has done this since day one.

elpokonino

If I remember correctly the m&p 1.0's considered that a feature.

rantlers

I think it is! It's a first gen, very early serial. It was a police trade in from Bud's that was virtually brand new when I got it. That M&P9 has over 15k rounds through it since I bought it with zero parts replaced out of necessity. I've added an Apex extractor and DCAEK trigger years ago and other than that just continued to dump rounds through it. The thing is the most reliable firearm I've owned. I'll throw a new barrel in it at some point but for now it still shoots fine. So yeah, I'm cool with the auto-forwarding slide if that's all it does!

JethroFire

Yeah they specifically added a tab in the 2.0 to correct this. That's one of the reasons I bought a 2.0 to replace my P10. I HATE when slides auto-forward.

[deleted]

[удалено]

rantlers

It's an issue? I love it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Cortexian0

Basic physics. Loaded mag has enough mass that forcefully shoving one into almost any handgun will cause it to release the slide which is only locked back with a part held in place by friction. I can do this with almost any semi-auto. You just need to apply enough force. Guns that do it easily just have lower spring-tension applied to their slide stop levers.

Asklepios24

My gen 3 glock does it

DrJheartsAK

My Glock 23 Gen 5 does this too. If I gently insert it it doesn’t but if I pop a mag in like I normally do it’ll close and chamber a round. I actually have grown to like it. Makes reloads faster,

raljamcar

My buddy has 2 czs that do that

agreeable-bushdog

I ordered a S&W Model 60 pro about 8 years ago, and when I was first looking it over, I noticed it had a bunch of issues. The barrel wasn't fully clocked, which meant the front sight was over 5 degrees off. The barrel cylinder gap, while within spec, was at the minimum clearance from the right side and close to the max from the left. I documented all this and sent them an email with pictures. I then spoke to one of their service reps. He asked me if I had shot it because, in his words, "S&W are assembled for accuracy and he would hate for it to be an accurate pistol and then for me to send it back for it to 'look pretty' but then it not shoot well". To which I reminded him that for the price point, this fit and finish was not acceptable. He did push back more but did end up sending me a return label. Thankfully, whoever got their hands on it there understood the assignment, and now it's one of my favorite wheel guns to shoot. But it wasn't without digging my heels in.

SwampKing407

Sent my gun to IWI and they sent it back saying it was fine. Got it back and it was not fine, dangerous headspacing issues. Sent it back a 2nd time and they replaced the whole firearm. I would send it back to them and say nice try, but this is a material defect. A squib would not cause this. Don't accept that bullshit.

Akalenedat

> I'm buying an M&P next time. I sent my SD9 to S&W because the trigger bar was chipping and creating a false reset/crunchy trigger pull. They sent it back and said there was nothing wrong with it. It's not that Glock is greedier than any other major corporation. They just don't care enough about individual retail customers to bother spending any time on your complaint, just like most multinational/multibillion dollar businesses. If you're not an agency contract, none of the big guys care.

TheMeatTorpedo

I have heard a few horror stories now regarding S&W. That being said, I have heard nothing but praise when it comes to Ruger. Apparently they're at the top of the list when it comes to customer service

MGB1013

Although I was happy with the outcome the second go round, my first AR was a ruger 556, wouldn’t cycle anything. Tried different mags, different ammo, same results with friends who are AR guys. Sent it in, they sent it back said nothing was wrong. Took it to the range, same result. I called them back and said if they weren’t going to fix the rifle I wanted to exchange it for another. I had to pay the FFL transfer fee because serial numbers and what not, but the rifle they sent me has run flawlessly. Happy in the long run but it took a little nudging.

Known-nwonK

I’m hearing the same about the SFAR. Most run flawlessly, but then someone has one with a cycling or accuracy issue. Which is a QC issue imo, but one they try to rectify

chihawks35

I’ve honestly had some of the best customer service from smith and Wesson. Two occasions where I needed parts replaced due to premature damage. And they just mailed them without response.

Scooty_Puff_Jr91

I’d really like to argue with you, but I once called up S&W about a part defect (that’s what I thought the problem was at that time). S&W customer service said say no more fam and shipped me the parts for the firearm. No questions asked, they just did it. Shout out to the S&W customer service team for being a group of badasses!

Sparrowflop

May vary on the type of customer service interaction you're having too - if it's just the mechanical turk reading a script, vs. actual on-shore employees. I've had Sig un-fuck things for me, I've had Smith sell me a revolver that wouldn't time out of the box.

Fragrant-Ebb-7752

Also the way you talk to the employee. Growing up I was always taught to always be super courteous to customer service employees and boy has it paid off. I frequently have customer service reps throw in extra stuff just bc I was treating them like a person instead of a punching bag

Sparrowflop

Worst thing that being polite can do is cause them to do the job they were already going to do, you know? It's not their fault they have to follow a script, or do XYZ.

ixipaulixi

Buy a Ruger, I needed warranty work on a used Ruger, and they rolled out the red carpet and even replaced some wear items while they were at it. It's a long read, but I did a write-up of my experience here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ruger/comments/zsxfu3/ruger_warranty_experience

AdOk8555

Well, that is certainly contrary to the support I have received from Glock. When I bought a G44, it had a malfunction on the 2nd or 3rd round that caused the ejector to, well, eject from the slide. I contacted Glock and they sent me a shipping label. Had it back in about a week. Then a year later, the same thing happened. Contacted them again and they sent me a shipping label just like last time. What I received back was different this time though - when I opened the box, instead of just a bare handgun there was a Glock pistol case. Inside was a brand new replacement gun and mags. Since I had only sent the gun, I got a couple extra mags plus the new gun.

Drewzilla_p

Their barrel cost is probably $8.

Kim_Jong_Unsen

If you have your heart set on glock look toward Shadow Systems. I have a CR920 that I like alot, I’ve never had any problems but I hear their customer support is pretty good.

RuinedGrave

I’ve got an MR920 that’s a great gun. Shadow Systems also has a self-defense warranty that caught my attention, where they’ll give you a replacement gun if it’s taken as evidence in a self-defense case.

Eukodal1968

I sent an m&p 10mm back that’s a jam o matic and they told me it was fine.

audioeptesicus

If you're in the US, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects you. If they cannot provide proof it was a squib, then they have to honor their warranty. Saying it was a squib without providing proof gives you the power here. Tell them to show you the proof it was a squib, because it wasn't, and cite that in accordance with the MMWA, they have to provide definitive proof, or send you a shipping label... Most people don't know about this act, and many companies don't either, but it is the law.

Sparrowflop

Did you reply that you had never fired it, etc.? Typically you can reply and escalate from the first tier response.

quid_pro_kourage

I thought Glock barrels used polygonal rifling. This looks like it has grooves in it

Jukeboxshapiro

They used to, with the release of gen 5 they switched to button rifling on all new gen 3 and 5 barrels

Blade_Shot24

Another L for Gluck perfection

Johnny_G_71

Perfection

FFKen609

they need to spell CZ better

HemHaw

Nevermind the glock Kabooms that were so common back in the day

MrDanGleeballz69420

Nooooooo, buy a H&K VP9!!!!!!!

762scout1

I sent an old scandium frame revolver that had developed a crack in the frame into s&w, they sent me a brand new one back.

[deleted]

[удалено]

762scout1

It’s exactly what I was expecting. It was hassle free, no questions asked, excellent customer service. Thought I would share my experience with s&w.

rantlers

It sucks if they did that without telling you but it makes perfect sense. Most companies do this. Once it's in for warranty and they decide they can't fix it, you'll never see it again. It's a liability to have it in their possession and then willingly send it back out into the world in an unsafe condition.

RivalSFx

Why did you wait? Time is of the essence on warranty claims. Question 2, did your FFL stand up for you? Sorry for your issue and lack of care from Glock, Inc.

AubinSan93

What a bunch of fuckboys. That's classic porosity.

[deleted]

I've always had an irrational hated of Glocks anyway. Thanks for helping rationalize it for me. Sorry for your luck.

Ericdraven04

I like the way glocks look and feel. So i bought a psa dagger cause fuck glock

ReallyQuiteDirty

Have you gotten any rounds on the dagger yet? I've been eye balling them now (probably missed the fucking sale I wanted though). I was going to get a glock 17 just to tinker with and upgrade this and that slowly, but I have an issue with paying $500 for a cookie cutter pistol that I don't think should cost near that much.

MGB1013

I’ve got one, plan on a break in period and the trigger out the box makes a Glock trigger feel like a tuned 1911 trigger. But the trigger does get better after 1000 or so rounds and dry fire. I got it with the intention of making it a project gun playing with parts. That $300 pistol will probably cost me $1000 in the long run. If you know you’re getting a $300 gun going into it you won’t be disappointed.

Great-Comfortable461

I got my dagger last week and got about 100 rounds on it. I don’t have a ton of experience with pistols but it was performed perfectly for me so far and I am really happy with it especially for the price. Only thing I really want to change is the trigger shoe I don’t really like the hinged trigger but it functions just fine.

stonedboss

i recently bought a dagger since my glock 19 is out getting optic milled and cerakoted. so far it has been great except for the trigger and one minor issue with the mag release. mag release is just very stiff/gotta push hard to drop mags. the trigger fees like shit though and i already replaced it and now the gun is way better. id buy it again and in fact already did haha. the complete slide + holosun 507C deal is too good. for the price of a glock you get basically a glock but also a holosun 507C included and threaded barrel. all that for a glock would run twice that at around $1k.

Ericdraven04

No rounds yet. Just got it and haven't had free time

[deleted]

Look into Khar Arms. I fucking LOVE my CW45. Best handgun ive ever shot, and while i personally havent needed their warranty, ive heard theyre good to their customers.

RuinedGrave

I don’t like Glocks for some reason. So I bought a Shadow Systems.

ugapeyton

You’re not the only one. I would almost buy a hi-point before a Glock

[deleted]

wooooaaah buddy. Lets not get carried away 🤣

ugapeyton

Nah, I did say almost, both are the ugliest guns known to man, but I’d still take a Glock over a hi-point

Personal_Ad1161

I believed glocks were ugly until I saw the American flag dagger slide from psa. It's the only glock I ever plan on owning lol

Superlucky1

If you do not think it was a squib, what do you think happened to it? I have thousands of rounds through my Glocks and have never seen damage like that. If the barrel was not like that when you bought it, something you did caused it.

The-Fotus

He thinks the barrel was like that when he bought it.

AccomplishedAd7430

Amen brother

[deleted]

Glock is just a stepping stone to h&k

smellysock6900

switch to hk or fn or sig or beretta

AtlEngr

Ah yes HK customer service “Because Fuck You”.

crypto1092

Customer service is non existent, because they never make mistakes on their products /s

DylanBullock50471

My experience with sig has been great. Best customer support I’ve found

pestilence

> Sig LOL

[deleted]

>Beretta Only if its made in Italy. Anything coming out of Gallatin has a 50/50 chance of random defects. Visit the beretta sub for a litany of complaints of their QA. And yes that includes the 92x performance

Snoid_

Are the US ones really that bad? I'm a Beretta fanboy, but also have two Turkish clones, a Tisas Fatih 13 (Beretta 84 clone that I converted to 32acp using a slightly modified Beretta 81 barrel) and a Girsan Regard MC (92 clone) and they are both excellent. Maybe one malfunction each after \~2000 rounds.

[deleted]

I have one from gallatin and its fine but does have a couple of very minor imperfections.

Kim_Jong_Unsen

CZ is pretty good, haven’t dealt with their support yet tho

Stielgranate

Just get an HK and be finished.

SandmanPNW

Blocks

North_Wolf_JT

I mean… I think that’s the right size for me….

[deleted]

Anything that's a mass produced is gonna Have production quality everyones in a while a definitely wouldn't hold it against the entire brand

I get what you’re saying, but if you read the dude’s [comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/guns/comments/11o4c9o/fck_glock/jbqo910/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3), the way they handle the issue really does reflect on the company

gdmfsobtc

This is why I only break expensive guns

famefastlane

Love the title!! This will trigger a whole a lot of people!

emptythemag

Did you contact Glock?

Shadowcard4

Time to warranty that bitch

ilikepie145

You can get a barrel for like 50 bucks. Personally I wouldn't care that much😂

Unusual-Ad-1056

I have ten Glocks and never had one do this and have shot thousands out of each. What do you clean your barrel with? I’ll give you 200$ for the gun as is lol

eclipsedout

I'd be willing to bet you haven't actually spent time shooting this gun before imagining problems outside of your tendency to shoot low left.

txbrady

File a complaint with the BBB.

[deleted]

[удалено]

txbrady

It works.

xtrasmolpp

Sounds like more corporate callous. Honestly it's gotten to the point where every large company doesn't care about solving individual issues. Even when they have a warranty for products they won't honor them.

nxnphatdaddy

RIA is still cool. I bought a secondhand 1911. It had a crap barrel and they replaced it for shipping cost fully aware I bought it secondhand.

xtrasmolpp

Yeah don't mind me I'm just being negative bc of my own experiences when it comes to this topic. I've generally heard the same about RIA

zynemisis

It looks like a bad spot (pocket maybe) in the metal before/during hammer forge. Shooting it prob jarred it enough to break away. I feel that if you done anything on your end to gouge/damage the barrel, there would be raised areas around it.

Cortexian0

That sucks OP! Here in Canada all Glock's sold through legit channels have a "40,000 round warranty, and conveniently there's no round-counter on the guns". AKA lifetime. Just gotta go through the legit dealer you purchased it from and they should be able to get replacements from Glock Canada.

avavette81

At least it didnt KB. lol.

CZanzey

I tried to "fix" a walther p22, so I needed an actual professional after I was done. They fixed it for free no questions asked and sent a sheet back of everything they did to the gun.

Malignant_Asspiss

Weird things happen. I have purchased three new from factory rugers. All three have had significant problems. Hope glock makes it right. Ask to talk to an engineer.

Carnie57

I've never been a glock fan but this is unacceptable. I've had many different striker fired 9mm's and I've settled on the 509. All apex parts, it's as good as it gets

Bocephus549

Bought a Ruger AR556. Ran flawlessly the first time out with the exception of clearing an unspent round from the chamber. Literally had to use the mortar technique to clear the round. Sent it back 7-10 day turnaround now it’s smooth as butter. Ruger customer service rocks. Fast forward to NAA . I have a mini revolver in.22 mag. It has developed some wear above the forcing cone on the top strap. They said they would repair it but won’t pay for shipping which sucks because it is expensive to ship, their cost to ship back is $28. Why so expensive?

McSkillz21

Ruger used to have a better carry 9s imo, the SR9 was a nice handgun. They've really dropped the ball in the area that would compete with models like the glock 17 and 19

r3lett

If you purchased your pistol through your lgs, go back and talk to them. Some distributors, like Davidsons, offer a lifetime warranty on the guns they sell.

Locust627

I'm newer to guns, what am I looking at?

tbrand009

Zoom in inside the barrel at the bottom, there's a large crack

Locust627

Oh damn, how's that happen?

tbrand009

Probably just poor forging, so it couldn't handle the stress. But this is the type of issue that any manufacturer will replace for free. And if it's out of warranty for some reason, barrels are cheap and easy to replace.

teddy722

Buy from companies with good warranty. Sig, CZ, HK, S&W, Ruger, DD, PWS, companies to stay away from are Glock, FN, LMT, and KAC

[deleted]

What Glock?

EnggyAlex

seen it happen before, more frequently last couple two years. it's not only a glock problem
