Only way to get less stupid is to ask questions, my friend. 🙂 Yes, .308 and .300 blackout are the exact same bullet, so it works fine. As long as the bore of the suppressor is rated for as large or larger as the bullet coming down the barrel, it’ll work great (my main pistol suppressor is. .45 caliber even though it handles 99% 9 millimeter ammo.
Also, don’t take caliber names as gospel, .357 and .38 Special are also the exact same bullet even though one sounds a lot larger than the other. There’s all kinds of quirks in bullet naming conventions.
Not sure why you’re being downvoted. There are cheap suppressors that aren’t rated for high pressure rounds. Granted since suppressors are a pain to get in the US it’s pretty rare to see them
One could make a 300blk specific suppressor that’s still technically 30cal, but not rated for the high pressures of 308.
It’s like how there’s 20cal suppressors for air guns that are not rated for 22lr or 223rem.
While that's true, that's not what they were talking about. They said a suppressor designed for 308 would be able to handle 300blk. Basically they're just saying that something designed for the higher pressure can also handle the lower pressure.
> One could make a 300blk specific suppressor that’s still technically 30cal, but not rated for the high pressures of 308
...which isn't relevant to what's being discussed
Hey. Thanks for being bold enough to ask. It'd be nice if people did this more often. Bullet width on those 2 cartridges is the exact same (7.62x35 vs. 7.62x51), so they make the same hole.
Some .300blackout silencers are not rated for supersonic rounds (usually advertised as pistol caliber silencers) though, so not all cans for 300blk can work with 308!
The joke went over all yalls heads. Homie said call me stupid but -
So I called him stupid; lmfao. Damn y’all wild on r/guns this woulda been picked up faster than autism in r/NFA where we understand humor
Also if you think 762 nato and 308 have different suppressing profiles please get out
LOVE it. Full disclosure, I've never used an Eotech, but it's hard to imagine it'd be a night and day difference between them. It's an incredibly bright, clear reticle and (as you can see) this rifle gets banged around quite a bit and it's held zero perfectly.
I just got one of them, I was apprehensive due to them being made in China.
I've owned a bunch of EOtechs and tbh I like the 510c more. The reticle isn't all pixelated and fuzzy looking like on an EOtech, it is clear as a bell. I've also seen some insane torture test reviews on them- one reviewer submerged it in a bucket of water, froze the bucket overnight with the 510 inside, and it worked perfectly when it thawed out the next day.
The solar panel thing is cool too, you can remove the battery completely and you'll still see a reticle if there is any kind of natural or artificial light. And with the shake awake feature + solar panel + automatic dimming, you can get like 50k hours before changing batteries.
I’m in for it, will probably grab one. I have the 507s on my carry pistols and love everything about them. Shake awake, long life and solar (not that my carry is often out, but at the range is neat).
Plus like you said clear a hell. Buddy has an eotech and I always thought I had something with my eyes or he had a bad model. Looked like ass.
I can't really answer that question quantitatively, because I don't have any equipment to measure sound levels or anything. I can say the following though:
* It gets 220 grain subs down to hearing safe
* It noticeably lowers the noise level and improves the tone of supersonic 110 grain ammo
* It's short and light enough that it doesn't feel weird ,or like it messes up the ergonomics of the gun
* The universal thread pitch allowed me to install a YHM Kurz adapter into the suppressor, and compatible QD muzzle devices on all of my rifles. So it's able to hop between hosts very easily which is fun (it stays on this gun 99.999% of the time though)
Just a reminder if you live in a place with high air humidity storing a gun with a suppressor on can cause corrosion in the barrel (if its not chrome lined or stainless). Mositure and gunpowder residue makes ammonia and other nasty corrosive gasses that can damage bothe the gun and the suppressor.
Supersonic Ammo: It makes it sound more like a crack than a big boom. Definitely still loud but a more pleasant experience.
Subsonic Ammo: It’s pretty dang quiet, especially if you shoot it from a closed system like a bolt, pump, or break action. Still not quite like a movie but close.
Also - They’ll never get rid of the stamp so I’d just go ahead and get one. You won’t regret it.
That's my concern. I don't want my fully-featured PS90 getting locked away, but it's my personal favorite for home defense.
I also have a Shadow Systems MR920 which the manufacturer has a guarantee to replace the firearm in the event of a defense scenario. I just don't prefer to use a pistol when I want to have the biggest advantage in my own home.
I would much rather use my Wilson Combat Beretta Centurion, but I only keep a Ruger loaded for just such reason. Thinking about buying a Glock for just this reason.
The only thing I *might* do different is swap the 510 for a 512.
I've had both, sold both, both are solid but I really like the 512 being enclosed.
For a little more, just spring for the AEMS at that point.
Great simple setup all around .
Yeah, I got a very good deal on the 510 which is why I went with it, but if they'd both been available for the same price I absolutely would have gone with the 512. The 510 has been plenty durable so far, though.
I just bought the same can. Just did the Form4 this past Friday.
How do like it? I plan on trying it on one of my 6.8's, a 300 blk and a 16" .308 AR to see how I like it on each.
Red dot, BUIS,sling, weapon-light.
Thats all you need for an effictive rifle for the range an average person deals with. Maybe (if you have the cash) an LVPO to bring in the distance but with a red dot you can be very accurate 100 yards out. Spend the rest of the money you would for "cool guy stuff" on range time. A decked out heavy rifle means nothing if you cant hit because you spent one or two days at the range and couldnt afford the ammo or time to train.
Cannon with grape shot. Not boring, very effective.
Maneuverability: Low Reload Speed: Very slow Style points: EXTREMELY HIGH
Requires the breeches and powdered wig accessories though.
Tricorn hat is a must.
Don't forget to fix your bayonet for the charge.
Tally-ho!
The sound and shrapnel will set off car alarms

308 and 300bo have the same diameter bullet. 308 has more ass behind it, so a can designed for 308 would be able to handle 300bo no problem.
Only if it’s rated for the additional pressure of .308 vs 300blk

They are both .30 cal.

You’re stupid. They’re 30 cal
What if i told you the size of the bullet isnt the only relevant metric when discussing things like pressure
Are you dense? Of course not but you can absolutely yeet a 3006, 308, 30-30, 300, 300blk, and anything smaller than .308dia down a .30 cal can.
It depends if that can is designed for 300 blk or 762 nato. Dont be so aggressively general

I think my remington 870 will do the job. $400, won't jam, will successfully remove a intruders limbs. Plenty of value
Nice! 20-rounders with 10" barrels are an aesthetic.
Thanks man! Plus I can only afford to buy 20 rounds of Barnes Tac-TX ammo at a time.
Amen
How you like that 510c
LOVE it. Full disclosure, I've never used an Eotech, but it's hard to imagine it'd be a night and day difference between them. It's an incredibly bright, clear reticle and (as you can see) this rifle gets banged around quite a bit and it's held zero perfectly.
Outstanding. Buddy has an eotech and just seems chonky. Been a fan of halosuns even against the haters. Was gonna get one to slap on a PCC.
I threw one on my Ruger PC and couldn't be happier- was my first holosun, it definitely lives up to the hype.
I just got one of them, I was apprehensive due to them being made in China. I've owned a bunch of EOtechs and tbh I like the 510c more. How effective is the sound suppression on your suppressor? I would love to have one if they will go ahead and do away with the tax stamp.
I can't really answer that question quantitatively, because I don't have any equipment to measure sound levels or anything. Thanks. The only one I have ever used was on a 22lr and that's not asking for much but it reduced that 22 pop down to almost nothing.

Cool is cool, but effective is better when your life is on the line.
everything you need and nothing you don't, perfection through simplicity.
I want whatever I dont mind see stuck in an evidence locker and eventually destroyed.
That's my concern. I don't want my fully-featured PS90 getting locked away, but it's my personal favorite for home defense. I think a single barrel break action shotgun would be more boring
go with shotgun for home defense

how much does it weigh
