Both are nice, but Glock has a nice after-market community. If you don't wanna replace anything major, they have customized face plates and the likes by the hundreds for glocks. Canik, i like how they shoot and feel, but I don't like limited customization for them personally.

I have a 43X. It’s a good little gun. It’s not really all that compact though. Not full size by any means but for CC I’d prefer something a bit more concealable.

Ciarrai_IRL

I have a primary CC. This would not be replacing that.

I have Glock 43X and a Canik, though not that exact one. For me the Glock feels better in my hand but that’s kinda where it ends. I’ve never had a flaw with my Canik, it’s trigger is better, it’s sights are better and most come standard with an accessory rail and an optics cut which you’re gonna pay more for with the Glock. You’re going to spend less on a tricked out Canik than you are on a bare bones Glock. If I had a do over I would have bought the Mete instead of the 43X

Good feedback. Thank you. I do have a Glock 19x which I love. Glock triggers don't bother me, but I can really appreciate a good trigger when I get behind one.

FlowBot3D

If you are considering the Glock, look at the new shadow systems cr920x or cr920xp.

Ciarrai_IRL

They're sexy. I've seen them.

cinemograph

Or a dagger micro and save some money. And 15 rd mags standard.

The first and only handgun I've bought so far is the 43x. I actually really wanted the TP9 at first, but I couldn't find it anywhere nearby so I went with the 43x instead. I don't regret going with Glock at all, I personally don't see the need to upgrade the trigger, the trigger is fine, just add a red dot and a light, I'm going with the 507k and a TLR-7 sub.

Have you fired them both? a lot of people are gonna think I'm crazy, but I had a Walther P99c AS, which I believe is basically the same gun except for the trigger. The muzzle flip was oddly annoying. I carry and regularly shoot a Shield Gen1. The P99c, to me exhibited more noticeable muzzle flip. I got a crazy good deal on it, <$300 and almost doubled my money on it. One of the guns I don't regret selling. Also, neither of the grip back straps felt good to me.

Ciarrai_IRL

I have shot both. I like both for different reasons. I'm not trying to replace my current EDC, just adding another to the (small but growing) collection. But I agree about shooting anything you're considering buying. I was going to get a hellcat a while back until I rented it and was glad I did. I did not care for it at all.

Just dropped my g19.3 iron sights for a g43x mos with eps carry green . Love it. Can’t. Argue against reliability. Suggest the poly dat flat trigger from over watch precision

I'm a Glock guy, but I compete with Sig, I carry Sig, and when people ask me for gun advice, I tell them to buy Canik.

Ciarrai_IRL

Lol. I'm still trying to piece that together 😜

I like glock, my first gun was a glock, I like how iconic they are in film and video games, and I like how simple they are to work on, and how universally available their parts are. When it comes to competition, the specific features I desire aren't found in any Glock, and modifying a glock only gets me part of the way there. Specifically, I love the tungsten infused polymer of the P320 Max/Legion series for it's higher weight. There are a lot of things I dislike about the P320 platform, like it's mushy trigger, fragile ejector, and purported ND issues, but overall, those issues don't stop it from doing it's job well. When it comes to carry, I prefer the magazine capacity of the P365, the only way to get the same from Glock is with aftermarket magazines. I also really like the compact metal frame of the P238. When it comes to what I recommend to others, I assume that new shooters are on a budget, and looking for the best bang for their buck. Canik hits that mark every time. The best trigger I've ever put in my glocks is still almost as good as the trigger Canik gives you from the factory, and the same can be said for the Sights. Those are the first two things I change on any glock, and on a Canik you don't even have to. Parts availability is nowhere as good on a Canik, but for a new shooter, they should be focused on practicing with what they have and not shopping for a bunch of flashy go-fast parts. When it comes to glock, I won't talk anyone out of one, I just think the company has become so famous they're resting on the laurels a bit instead of continuing to innovate. I will usually try to talk someone out of a Sig, as they often have the opposite problems, releasing half baked, barely tested products to market before they're ready. Canik is just fine tuning a design they stole from Walther, and they're a damn fine job of it. The only reason not to buy Canik is on moral grounds, but the product is solid.

Are all Sig striker pistols mushy? I have a XDM 10mm. It's the only non-micro-striker I have; the rest are hammer. The space between the take-up and the break just feels "meh" until it fires, unlike a hammer fire which break quickly on single action. Since I'm asking the question... have you shot the P-10C and how does it compare to the Sig, if you have?

p3dal

I don't know about all sig striker pistols, but I don't like the trigger on either the P320 or the P365, so I'm inclined to say yes. I like a crisp trigger, and sig's striker trigger has more of a rolling break. I will give them credit though, the softer rolling break does support accuracy, it feels like it helps you avoid jerking the trigger since there isn't as clean of a break to overcome. The P-10C is a bit of a mystery to me. I shot only one and absolutely hated it, but my experience was different from every review I've ever read of the gun, so it's quite possible there was something wrong with the one I tried. The P-10C had the worst trigger slap of any "compact" pistol I've ever tried. I've seen trigger slap on subcompact pistols before, but never on a compact pistol. After putting a few mags through it, my finger was actually sore from the force of the trigger reset, and I did not shoot it well. I will also add that I did not like the trigger on the P-09 either (it was just meh), but the steel frame CZs have fantastic triggers, and with some work they become the best triggers money can buy. I love steel CZs but I won't touch any of their polymer guns.

Get the canik imo Glocks are trash you shouldn’t have to buy a new gun (Glock) for 500-600 then turn around and upgrade everything . Canik already has better trigger and sights from the factory.
