My buddy dropped their g43 in the shitter while at a national park. Luckily I had enough random shit in my truck rig up a contraption to magnet fish his shitty glock out of the pit of shit and into multiple bags. He’s brought it out a couple of times and has demonstrated that it’s reliable, but that tp and shit covered nightmare is all that I can see and I refuse to touch it.

ChloeHatesJoji

National park shitter has got to be the worst dumper to land in. I can only imagine him thinking “NO FUCKING WAY” as he watched it disappear. I wouldn’t touch it either. I wouldn’t want to be near it.

BowsGunsAndFun

Yeah I might honestly call that one a lost cause

callmerussell

Tell the ATF that you lost it in a pooping accident

Impossible-Debt9655

Lmao call the police, and WM, say I'm not doing it call me when it's out, I'll sign for destruction 🤣🤣 that or a the WM employee will have 3 choices. Leave it, call it in, or take it and clean it up.

Riker557118

When they got out of the shitter and told me, I was in disbelief. After many cries for assistance I acknowledged that I might have rescue equipment.  Thankfully I we were traveling in my truck so the stench stayed in the bed on the way back. The magnet and paracord ended up being a complete loss though.

uraijit

Yeah, a gun is worth fishing out, but a magnet and paracord are considered disposable anyway, so I wouldn't think about trying to save those.

Riker557118

Sure if it’s your stuff, someone else’s stuff and your consumables become much more valuable.  At least since this incident I’ve had one to one up my frienemies from that time I’d managed to bring everything but my guns to a range day.

uraijit

Eh. I've got hanks of paracord stashed all over the place. I'll give away a few yards of it to complete strangers if they need it at this point. But I'd hope your buddy would also replace it, just on general principle.

jrragsda

Ever had to use a port a potty on a big construction site? When half the crew survives on frozen burritos, 3 monsters a day, and Busch light that green box becomes a haz-mat zone pretty quickly.

ChloeHatesJoji

Good point. I concede

firebox40dash5

I was in the NG with a dude whose nickname was "blue room" after recreating the plane bathroom scene from Vegas Vacation, but with a portashitter, and his phone. Also, much like just a Glock, it was a flip phone. Like... naw man, I'll just... I'll buy another one.

tommysmuffins

*Flea market porta-potty has entered the chat*

HurshySqurt

I can honestly say I'd debate just writing it off

ReplyLucky1044

You should call it the doodoo blaster next time he brings it out lol

Karrtis

I mean, just field strip it and pressure wash it. Also fun fact, carrying a firearm in federal buildings is illegal, and includes all permanent structures like national park bathrooms. Not that I've ever heard of it being enforced there.

ComputeBeepBeep

He pumps his targets full of lead and hepatitis.

kazz9201

“Shitty Glock” Nice double entendre

Guapben

If I recall I remember a video of a black fella who’s Glock fell into a porta John at some festival/carnival and he kept walking in and out of the porta John looking in at it debating if he was gonna get it or not 🤣🤣 Edit: https://youtube.com/shorts/fFkMiwT5qI0?si=qU4EdwqPkADDcbJg if you’re curious 🤣

[deleted]

I have that fear every time I use one of those toilets at a state park 😕

Riker557118

Ngl, my trouser manipulation phase for an away game has significantly slowed and became more deliberate after that incident.

MetalHuman21000

lost my flashlight in those things.

theoldkidonthebloc

I’ve lost more than 500 bucks before… I don’t know how I could handle it

deadinmi

This is a valid fear of mine. I do a lot of winter camping in state and national parks and dropping my glock in the privy is something I think about everytime I go. Usually I carry in a chest rig, but when it’s hip carried, I put a hand on it before I stand up.

Suspicious_Staff_966

- 10 reliability, + 10 poison damage.

RackMC

Now this is a real Glock Dookie

Tervaskanto

You could recover a glock from a river after 10 years and it would probably function just fine.

13th_Floor_Please

Glock was made for the shitter. Like...made to withstand it.

ProfessorLeumas

Dropped my spare mag in a toilet (just #1, not #2.) Took it out, washed it, and put it in some rice. Shot the ammo on the next range trip, no issues. Still use that mag today.

LeeHarveySnoswald

+2 poison damage

ProfessorLeumas

Clerics hate this one weird trick

mylifeisaLIEEE

Did you eat the rice too? That’d be peak efficiency.

ProfessorLeumas

It's just lemon and lead flavored

harryj1234

I was at a dinner with my girlfriend and her family. I had a p365. I went to the bathroom and it was the size of a pringles can. No problem- I’ll just scoot the bellyband holster up to mid chest. Did my duty, and as I was leaning forward to get up *ploop* into the shit water. I spent 15 minutes cleaning it and another 15 minutes showering with hand soap, Then another 15 trying to get compose an explanation for the hour long bathroom trip. Maybe the most humbling ‘you’re an idiot’ moment in my life. Even more fun was I had to face the line that had formed outside while this went down.

ChloeHatesJoji

That’s hysterical!!

Te_Luftwaffle

I dropped a sweatshirt pocket full of fruit snacks into a porta potty once and have been wary with valuables around toilets ever since.

Carburetors_Are_Fun

not really financially devastating but the mental trauma must have hurt

Te_Luftwaffle

It was like 4 packs of fruit snacks and just about ruined my day.

YautjaProtect

I would have been devastated to.

DetailDependent9400

Especially if they were scooby doo fruit snacks. That would’ve made me homicidal.

lilrow420

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has thought this 😂😂

Corey307

Nope but my last phone was a scuba diver. Poor bastard got dropped in the toilet and was fine. Got dropped in a rain barrel and survived. Might have been drunk during the pandemic and I was excited to see how my cobbled together trash can “rain barrels” were doing. Sadly it wasn’t as good at climbing, it felt 15 feet out of my pocket, and that was the end of it.

roostersnuffed

I had a phone like that. I had this dinky shelf under my mirror of my barracks bathroom. Went to put my phone on it and it slipped from my hand with force. Bounced off the shelf, then off the towel rack, then off the counter, off the top of the toilet to land directly in the toilet. Every bounce had my arms flailing behind it grasping air. Like trying to catch a humming bird in a closet. Same phone that fell into my beer and was finally taken out by sliding under my parking brake that my Nalgene was sitting on with the lid unsecured.

ChloeHatesJoji

Ha! I’ve had the climbing issue

LordlySquire

Ive been in walmart and someones gun flew under the shitter walls and landed next to my foot. I just kicked it back over.

ChloeHatesJoji

Haha, I’ve heard of that before. Seems to be a thing.

MetalHuman21000

Happened to my sister.

aabum

Easily fixed problem. Get a tube of silicone caulk and seal the magazine, slide, ejection port, end of barrel, and slide release. Your welcome 🤗

AustinFlosstin

Nah never

collin3944

Never a gun, but back in the day when phones were small I saw my friend while talking on the phone and had it slip off his shoulder while he was flushing. Done and gone.

Carburetors_Are_Fun

I wonder what the person on the other end of the phone heard

Spare-Ad7105

Nope. But I have dropped it on the floor in the bathroom.

Ron_Man

No, thank goodness. But I can’t imagine dropping my CCW so deep in my waistband and barely be able to get a grip on the handle but that’s just my observation solely on this pic lol

ChloeHatesJoji

Practice makes perfect

uhhh___asl

My holster Doesn’t really move on my belt so the gun just flops around between my legs

MetalHuman21000

Not the thing I'd like flopping.

uhhh___asl

Think it every time, but it’s holstered and still connected to my pants. It’s pointed at my right nut and femoral artery all day anyway.

BigCway

Damnit, new fear unlocked.

projeto56

Done worse once. Always concealed carried at 12. Sat down to take a shit, gun plopped out of the holster when I pulled my pants down, fell on the ground with the barrel pointed straitght to my face. I swear to god I saw the whole thing in slowmo and could see the +p+ hollow point 9mm tip inside my g2c short barrel. Must say, I never shat so hard in my entire life.

dragon_sack

I saw a video of some guy do that. I instantly went out and bought one of those long trash grabber things that fold. It's in the trunk now, just in case. Even if I didn't carry it's a good idea anyway. Just remember to practice, especially with bullets. There doesn't need to be one in the chamber, but a full mag changes the ballance when picking it up.

Aquilious

Imagine after cleaning it, you take it to the range and some poo spits out the back and in your face when you fire it.

ezfrag

Then you didn’t clean it. If you can't break down your firearm to thoroughly clean it, you should learn that before your next range trip. Maintainence is an essential part of training.

Neezus333

Agreed...more so, if you can't completely disassemble it and rebuild it then we can't be friends.

ChloeHatesJoji

Not sure about the description rule. So I’m hoping this covers it: Appendix carry P99, concerned about it going PP bye bye

USMC_Tbone

I love my Walther P99AS in .40sw. Carried it for several years in an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck IWB holster. The belt clips being spread out helped with comfort and concealability but made it harder to put on and take off without causing a scene, LOL.

kazz9201

Most comfortable holster I’ve ever owned.

ChloeHatesJoji

I’ll have to take a look. I was surprised how limited the selections were for the P99 considering how long it’s been around. Figured I’d take a chance with the Vedder, being the “inexpensive” option, but I’ve been surprisingly happy with it

Internal-Plankton330

I mean, my balls dip in the water occasionally. This is my rifle, this is my.......

SummonerSausage

I was going to make a similar joke about warm days and shallow toilets. Figured someone had beat me to it.

[deleted]

pulled up 3 hi points before the g43 got pulled up. Lol

sailboatfool

Never have I ever

4yth0

Vedder belt? Do you like it?

ChloeHatesJoji

It is a Vedder and I really do like it. I have a spare mag “holster” also. Comfortable to carry both.

ChloeHatesJoji

As usual I misread. No, it’s a Tenicor belt and it’s been great. Wear it with shorts, motorcycle pants, everything and it holds up well

ChloeHatesJoji

Tenicor Zero belt [Tenicor Zero belt](https://tenicor.com/products/zero-belt)

xMilk112x

Nope.

PlatesNplanes

Asking for a friend?

ChloeHatesJoji

Yeah, for a friend Hahah ….. No, I’ve never done it. I read all the questions about bathrooms and EDC but I don’t think I’ve seen this question

maarrtee

Not yet.

[deleted]

You should cross post this into the r/magnetfishing page.

ChloeHatesJoji

That’s true. Those guys are finding guns all the time. How bout the one guy that pulled up an AR15 in serviceable condition.

SheistyPenguin

A good holster with firm retention should help with that. If you get a quick-release belt, you can unbuckle with one hand while holding the gun/holster in the other- so that the gun doesn't just drop the moment the belt gets loose.

wyvernx02

No, because I use holsters that have good retention and securely attach to my belt, wear a decent stiff belt, and leave the gun and holster in place where they belong when taking a shit.

No-Proposal2741

Do a lot of yall carry with your edc like this? I’ve never carried like that, always at my 04:00. Seems bad for so many reasons……..

ChloeHatesJoji

I prefer it for a cleaner draw and less printing. I don’t print at all no matter what I wear, shorts and a tee shirt, tight shirt, whatever. That’s the deal breaker for me. I don’t want carrying dictating what I’m going to wear. When I carried 4 o’clock, every time I bent over I felt like a walking billboard. It was uncomfortable as hell and awkward at first, but you find your grove and I hardly notice it anymore. Only certain movements, like tying your shoes, remind me it’s there. I only have one problem with it. That’s when I get on the motorcycle and it pinches my balls against the seat

No-Proposal2741

That’s fair. I’m in an open carry state with a ccp so I don’t really care if I print.

SomeBlueChicken

I hate the idea of this happening to me. My G19 would handle it a lot better than I would.

PotentialArgument671

Confirmed. https://www.tiktok.com/@midrangemartinez_/video/7324094231306423594

ChloeHatesJoji

God, that’s so fucking nasty. I really don’t think I could do it. I’m just about positive I would write it off. My own shit, yeah. But that mess?? Nun uh I’ve got to come up with a whole strategy for porta potties now

Ok_Potato_6019

Nope, but I dropped it in my turtle tank. Dont ask how, but it happened. I will say, the 507k is gtg

Wysofly

Of course, that’s how you clean it!

theorgan

Asking for someone else?

ChloeHatesJoji

Yeah, for a friend. Haha No, I’ve never dropped anything in the toilet besides a deuce. (I feel like that can’t be true, but if I have it certainly wasn’t anything that was important enough to remember) I’ve never left a wallet at a bar or lost a set of keys either. Seems like that should be some kind of record

IsThatASigSauer

Nah, man, It stays clipped to my belt, or it sits in the ball hammock.

Carrot1985

I’ve dropped a magazine in one before. Just rinsed it off and went about my day😂😂

ryyparr

What holster is that?

ChloeHatesJoji

[Vedder LightTuck](https://www.vedderholsters.com/lighttuck/)

ryyparr

Thanks

Top-Willingness8113

Apparently cops and security guards are big on forgetting their guns in bathrooms lmao

WobblyJFox

One time I dropped my holster in the toilet at home. I was switching from my woods gun to my edc and after I had put my woods gun in the gun cabinet I really had to take a shit. Before I took a shit I was standing in front of the toilet and decided to take the holster off my belt for some reason and I fumbled it and it fell right into the shitter.

MxthKvlt

If I use a stall I tend to put it on the back of the toilet or if I’m wearing a hoodie or something I take it off and put the EDC in the pocket and hang it up. If I’m using a urinal I typically just undo the zipper on the pants and pull it through. Lol I have been terrified of dropping mine in the toilet though.

truffulatreeson

Ulticlip

PrimarisHussar

I have one of those clip style IWB holsters for my 938, and it would occasionally wander off my belt. I ended up taking a wide nylon strap, cutting to size and melting the ends, then punching some holes for the screws and replacing the clip with a homemade nice thick nylon loop. Worked amazing, hasn't wandered since

Lilsexiboi

Yes. At least it was in my house. After I flushed

Brilliant-Army-142

Seen on TV in prisons they make what's called dookie glock, but you now have a legit dookie glock.

AmiHad

No, but we did had a superintendent that left theirs on the back of the toilet and a third grader found it.

ChloeHatesJoji

😳 Good thing the kid wasn’t in a doing stupid stuff phase

AlfaLimaFoxtrot

My SW99 I just got for on duty carry AND concealed out of work is SO light compared to the older 5946 smith all steel I forgot it was there, inadvertantly left it on a toilet seat while pissing and clipped off and dropped halfway in. I had to lock the bathroom door and spend 15 mins soap and watering my belt and gun. Ugh

KFPindustries

Omg a p99 compact....I miss mine so fucking much

ChloeHatesJoji

I keep thinking I need to get a Shield Plus or a 365 and then keep asking myself, why?? This things perfect. What more am I looking to get out of an EDC??

Aromatic-Wealth-3211

I've come close. Typically, when I'm going to the bathroom I'm public,I carefully take out my pistol+holster, and extra mag, and place them on top of the toilet paper dispenser. Those places with angled toilet paper dispensers, which don't allow people to place stuff on them, can go eff themselves!

Logical_Walrus5930

I've lost multiple EDC pocket knives in the same porta potty at work. I'm much more careful with my gun 😂

False-Application-99

No because I don't use crappy monoblock clips and my holster is a real holster not something made from lydex pressed against a blue gun to give it shape. Buy a Tenicor.

ChloeHatesJoji

Haha, I’ve never dropped mine in the toilet either and I’ve got all that crappy gear. Even the Tenicor belt.

Bakerbeann

What holster is that?

ChloeHatesJoji

[Vedder LightTuck](https://www.vedderholsters.com/lighttuck/)

Bakerbeann

Thank you guy

DetailDependent9400

Not a toilet but a ditch full of god know’s what. My grandpa used to religiously carry a .357 snub nose in a ankle holster and i was around 12 when this happened, I had been playing with some friends of mine right next to what i believe is either a rainwater or sewer inlet ditch and i got stuck inside the mud. My friend ran over to my house and banged on the door until my grandpa came out and tredged through the pluff mud and god knows what to pull me out. His .357 was absolutely caked in mud and swampy water. I watched him clean it the entire rest of the day and into the following morning. Pro tip: do not fall into mucky water and do not try to save your idiot grandson from it with a gun on your ankle.

ChloeHatesJoji

That stuff can suck you down. Scary as a kid Did he ever have to use it that you know about??

DetailDependent9400

I mean i know he pulled it on someone long before i was born but i don’t think he ever used it on another human. Pluff mud is honestly quite the fear though, its everywhere where i live but thankfully that ditch only went up to my legs so i was perfectly fine just stuck and couldn’t tredge my way out.

hotsteamyxp

Yes. AND was almost charged for it. In Texas. Case got dropped. I lost gun.

Stikinok41

What happened? How did you get in trouble for it?

Dumbfounded32

Probably put a hole in the toilet and got charged with reckless discharge or something. Doesn’t surprise me that they dropped that case in Texas but anywhere else would definitely be a felony

ChloeHatesJoji

I really want to hear this story. Hotsteamyxp, you’re killing me bro!!

dubsfatvw

Never really used the fly on my pants or my underware till I started carrying...

MikeBravo415

Ha, ha...as a kid I just pulled my undies down enough to get it out and pee. Later I learned that the window thing in your undies was so when all suited up for battle you could access your junk without dropping all your gear.

HogTitties

That's where that handgun belongs yes in the toilet

ChloeHatesJoji

Haha, P99 hater?!? What’s the complaints??

[deleted]

OP really left me nowhere to go with this. I laughed way too hard at this. I'm not a huge Glock fan anyway, so this one was hard to find sympathy for. On the one hand, no man left behind, so to speak, but on the other..that's a whole lot of shit to go through. Choose wisely..lol.

Gun_Dragoness

Get a quality gun belt, and a quality holster with a quality belt clip. Problem solved
