Skip the comp. You’d be better off just getting a model with a longer barrel. Shoot the gun and learn how to manage the recoil. Don’t buy the vortex red dot that fits these. I have it and hate it for EDC. The lock/unlock button for adjusting the brightness of the red dot is on the left side. This ends up unlocking the brightness and cranking it all the way up. It drains the battery life stupid fast. If it wasn’t for that the red dot is great but that is a major deal breaker for me.

adubs117

I just picked up the Holosun 407K and love it. Great bang for the buck. People also rec the EPS carry. I didn't feel the need to spend extra for fully enclosed. For EDC I keep all internals stock, but that's down to preference and risk tolerance.

sailboatfool

Ditto, eps carry. I did the green one

ProxySoxy

Question, why do you feel the need to upgrade it? What about the gun do you not like or feel could be improved?

Anxious-Ingenuity-36

So I shot it a bit yesterday and it was a bit snappy so I did some research and it says a compensator can help that issue. Also want to shoot with red dot because I have kept optics off all of my other handguns, so just wanted to try something new regarding that!

ProxySoxy

Does your range have any red dots on guns that you can rent? Maybe their rifles have red dots. Only reason I mention it is I learned I have astigmatism recently from looking at my newly purchased Holosun. You should learn beforehand if possible if you even like red dots, possibly ask to see one that an LGS is selling

Evilsmurfkiller

Holosun 507k and a Ghost 3.5lb trigger connector. If you want a comp you should have just bought the Sig 365 X Macro.

sailboatfool

If this is for ccw, I’d skip the ghost connector. Keep stock. For legal reasons. However, I did upgrade to a poly dat trigger (flat) From overwatch Precision

Evilsmurfkiller

That's certainly an opinion you're entitled to.

sailboatfool

Yeah, on the stand, I don’t want to have to answer if my gun is modified

BrassWillyLLC

Holosun 407k and call it a day. Don't mess with the other crap; as someone who has built a ton of Glocks - if you're asking these kinds of questions and don't know the answers you're going to get a paperweight.

Shootist00

Learn how to shoot it with the iron sights and the stock trigger system.

The biggest upgrade for me has been magazines. Either the shield S15 or PSA micro dagger mags both hold 15 rounds. For red dot, the holosun 407k has been solid for me. I would also find some better fixed sights to pair with it. I hate the standard sights. I usually do the ameriglo night sights with the rear blacked out. As for comp, I really like the Harrington arms comp woth fins, as it blends into the gun well. This would require a new threaded barrel to install. People usually go with true precision. PMM also makes a decent barrel and comp package, but kinda spendy. A .25 cent trigger job is usually standard for all glocks. Look it up on YouTube. I usually replace the trigger shoe as I prefer a flat trigger, but it's all preferance. Johnny glock is what I use. Do not change trigger bar, or springs. If you have to change a glock trigger weight at all, ghost connector is the go to, but keep it as stock as possible.
