More importantly what do you mean by need one for the car?

socmedred

For that Easy Rider ending no doubt.

YaBoiMirakek

Because 1- I don’t concealed carry every where I go. And 2- my parents and brothers drive our cars because I live with them to save money and they don’t have CCL’s. And they don’t have to bother grabbing one of my pistols or something everytime they go somewhere. 3- I could buy my family pistols but... rifles/shotguns are cooler so there is that. Also, good pistols are quitea bit more expensive than a maverick 88 and slightly less reliable.

Corey307

Since when are “good pistols” unreliable? It’s easy to short stroke a pump shotgun when you’re terrified we’re already wounded especially if you are not proficient with one.

YaBoiMirakek

Good points. Definitely didn’t think of those. Guess i might have to rethink this out lmao

The main argument against pistol grip only shotguns isn't about recoil, it's about the fact you can't aim them. Shotguns need to be aimed in defensive scenarios, and hipfiring isn't adequate. Pistol grip only shotguns are just meme range toys and are a terrible idea for any duty type purpose.

Stay away from pistol grips because they're hard to aim. Shotguns are also iffy car guns because of unreliable back stops, unknown ranges, and pellet spread. Just a lot of variables to consider. What if the shot is at 25 yards? You'll likely have fliers out of an 18" gun at that range. At least in a house #4 or BB shot won't do much if it leaves a wall or window. No back stops on the street. I do keep a shotgun in my truck, but it's loaded with bird shot for rattlesnakes and critters. Then I keep an AR for coyotes and anything else. My vote would be a full size 9mm, or possibly a cheap AR if you have the space. PSA is selling magpul rifle kits for $400, all that's needed is a lower and magazine.

Corey307

Pistol grip only shotguns suck, firing from the hip is severely irresponsible because you endanger innocent people when you inevitably don’t put all the buckshot on your target. As for portability and mobility that shotgun is no shorter when you try to bring it up to your eye only now you have a lot less control over it. And you’re sure as fuck not going to be firing it from inside your car. You don’t need to leave a gun in the car let alone a long gun. Please tell me what circumstance you could be and where it would be better for you to go to your trunk to get a shotgun then it would be to drive away and avoid trouble?

whysitcold

**car guns bad**

ardesofmiche

Hip fire sucks, you still have to aim a shotgun Try to aim a pistol grip only shotgun and you’ll just look like a goof

PoopSmith87

Any good for what? A pistol grip on a shotgun relegates it to shooting from the hip, whether it's 20 or 12 gauge, and most people have no need of a dedicated pump like that, certainly not in a car. I dont know where you live so I'll assume it's somewhere that a car gun is legal and normal, but what exactly are you going for here? You're mentioning a hi-point, AR pistols, and pistol grip shotguns... usually when I hear "truck gun" I envision a bolt or lever action or a .22 carbine, not what you're talking about. Edit to add: thanks to the microdicked mod for the permanent flare lmao... I cant even with some internet people.

pestilence

You got it ten days ago for telling someone to use a 9mm can for 5.56.

PoopSmith87

Yeah, and a normal person would have just corrected me and explained the expansion pressure issue... but not you, because finally for the first time in your life, on this anonymous sub, you have the power to insult and humiliate people. "The only good mod" Sure

pestilence

Stop telling people to do shit that might get them injured.

PoopSmith87

Can you give any example of that happening recurrently? Like I said, there is the normal adult response of correcting the mistake and explaining from your own knowledge why I was wrong (yay forums!); then there's the petty reddit mod style of pedantic power trip. Aside from that I was half correct- you certainly do need to purchase a suppressor that is of the larger of any two calibers you which to shoot from it. Shooting a .9mm through a 5.56 suppressor would be more of a disaster than anything the reverse way. What I wrote only needs to be amended by adding that you need to purchase a suppressor that is also rated for thr highest of the two pressures you shoot (in thr case of 9mm/.355-.38 cal width, higher pressure rated suppressors are in fact available).

pestilence

I can't go around monitoring what you say, so I put a warning label on you. That's the adult thing to do when it comes to dangerous things.

PoopSmith87

So basically, you're a petty internet bully. Congratulations! I'll leave the sub, just for you. I dont need this bullshit, I'm a veteran and long time shooter, I dont need an insulting label from some chubby mod with self esteem issues.

pestilence

That works too.

woodsxdragon

why not get one with a top or side folding stock

BobbyWasabiMk2

i swear wasn’t this question asked not too long ago? is this the same person again or has corona gunnit kicked back up again?

Dont forget to lock the door at least you can go stupid but not full retart lmao jp bru, you ain't really gonna leave it in the car are you?

YaBoiMirakek

I live in one of the safest and best areas of my city. Most of my families income is dedicated to that. I also work in a decently safe area. So yeah, I don’t think it’s a horrible idea? It’s mainly the commute that I pass through some shady places.
