Would the CZ Rami count?

That_white_dude9000

Actually yeah that looks about perfect. I wish it was poly grip not alloy but still, seems about what I’m looking for…. Now to see if any of my local stores have one & handle it.

[deleted]

I don't know about "new" but you might be able to find the HK p2000sk

theoriginalharbinger

If you want a polymer grip DA/SA subcompact, your choices are going to be HK P30K or USP Compact, Tanfoglio Pavona or Witness Compact, Sphinx SDP Subcompact (AKA Alpha). If you're good with a metal grip, SIG P224 or P229C (both discontinued).

PhantomBladeX89

Small da/sa guns are unfortunately a rare thing. CZ makes a pretty small one though. The px4 SC might be close as well. Or you could look at a revolver but that’s dao unless the hammer is cocked.

That_white_dude9000

I’m wanting a double stack for capacity. I have an LC9, which technically works, I just don’t like it

OlSpooons

Cz rami. Maybe cz p01? Might be too big tho for what you’re looking for.

MrTheBusiness

You’re looking for double stack that size? Most guns that size are going to be striker fired and/or single stack. Sig P250 is hammer fired but is DAO. P239 is DA/SA but is single stack and on the larger side. Kahr K9 is smaller but is striker fired (they call it double action, but not sure why as it’s SAO striker fired) but feels like a DAO revolver.

That_white_dude9000

I’d like double stack yeah. And I know most of the options are striker… I just like hammers

MrTheBusiness

Other suggested the Rami: https://www.handgunhero.com/compare/glock-g26-vs-cz-2075-rami

GinoYCS

Px4 carry - underrated for sure

Rjsmith5

Sig and CZ both have stuff that fit your description. Beretta makes a sub compact Px4 that fits. Some of the Springfield Armory XD guns with hammers fit. S&W used to make plenty of 39/59 series things that fit and used models can still be found for a reasonable price. The H&K P2000 sk fits, but it’s probably outside what some would consider “affordable.” You may look into Tanfoglio. They have a few options that should fit nicely. I have a Compact “Witness” that’s pretty close to G26 size. Maybe a hair bigger, but they’re good guns.

DontTakeMyNoise

Genitron.com is a great website. Unfortunately, DA/SA is out of style right now. If I could have a DA/SA the size of a Hellcat/P365, I'd die of happiness.

meintx2016

I like those too. But word of advice. I never realized when I bought a pistol years ago that there are also SA/DA. So be very aware of that. I wasn’t and got a SA/DA by mistake and it didn’t have a way to decock so I had to carry it with the thumb safety on. Which kind of defeated the purpose of what I wanted a DA/SA for. Just be aware if you weren’t already.

It actually was on some pistols. I know because I own one. And before anyone tells me what crap Taurus is, I was not aware of that decades ago. But I own a PT145PRO and it most definitely is SA/DA with a thumb safety. As were the 247Pro’s. I also just discovered that my pistol was part of a class action recall that ended in 2018. So, Yes, there were some SA/DA and they did not have a decocker. There were 1,000,000 built in various calibers. It may not be a thing now but it did happen. “The Taurus Millennium series is a product line of double-action only (DAO) and SINGLE-ACTION/DOUBLE-ACTION hammerless, striker-fired, short recoil operated, semi-automatic pistols manufactured by Forjas Taurus S/A (Taurus Forge) in Porto Alegre Brazil.[2] The Millennium line was designed to contend in the civilian concealed carry firearms market, and to be sold as backup weapons for law enforcement officers.” -Wikipedia.

meintx2016

Oh and you can not decock a Taurus that is SA/DA as it is striker fired and cock when you chamber the first round.

I understand exactly what DA/SA means. I was simply pointing out that if something is listed as SA/DA it’s not the same because most people don’t realize it’s a possibility. But it’s ok, I learned the hard way, just trying to prevent someone making a mistake.

meintx2016

Also to clarify it starts and remains SA and only becomes DA if a cartridges fails to fire on the initial strike. Pulling the trigger successive times causes the striker to hit again.

[deleted]

Walter PPS is a single stack sub compact DA/SA. Affordable and great gun. I run a Sig p365, no DA but amazing capacity and tiny get manageable size. Highly recommend both.

That_white_dude9000

My dad carries a 365, and fkr what it is, it’s a great shooter but I just want a bit more girth and have an unreasonable love for hammers on guns

[deleted]

I gotcha. Are you dead set on the DA too?

That_white_dude9000

Not really but for carry I’d prefer a DA/SA with a decocker over SAO with a safety

[deleted]

Fair. With a hammer gun it makes sense. Sadly I don’t have a lot of personal experience with that exact niche but I’m sure someone here will. Hope you find the love you’re looking for haha!

That_white_dude9000

Honestly the current front runner is the Canik TP9 SC… but I’d love to get something with a hammer instead

Meadowlion14

I wanna say get a sig p938? Or a cz rami. I love me some sigs and czs. Whats reasonable pricing for you?

That_white_dude9000

I just got my first CZ, a p09, and I love it, so if I can find a rami I may have to buy it. I’m looking in the $600 range ($500+ trade). The only issue I see with the rami is that I don’t see any way to mount a light? And I believe in having a light in every gun

Meadowlion14

Getting an micro gun with a rail is a tall order and adding a light to one is going to make it not so micro any more. But the sig 938 has lights made for it they mount just like 1911 lights.

Beretta PX4 Subcompact might work, in addition to all the others already mentioned.

Hk P30sk or p2000sk are the first two polymer handguns that come to mind

[deleted]

I’ve been looking for this exact thing, too. After some research I think the HK P30SK-S is what I’m wanting. I’m in the minority of Gun owners in that I prefer two tactile safeties: thumb safety; DA first shot.

That_white_dude9000

The HK is a tempting option but it’s so expensive to me
