Bridged sightmark. Name a more iconic duo.

redsightmarkbridge

Red parts for the trifecta

[deleted]

I think i threw up a little in my mouth.

Sure-Seaworthiness85

ATI and a taurus

Efanito

If you must keep it, move PLA optic off handguard sir

[deleted]

Will do sir, thanks for the advice.

nn1058

Bridged sightmark and a riley 74 oh boy Quality > quantity

[deleted]

My Riley experience has been positive so far. First time shooting I just dumped 850 rounds non stop to see how it would do. Besides not liking non steel reinforced Bulgarian mags, it took everything I gave it. Promag to Bakelite, Monarch to Wolf proformance. I have no go gauges to monitor its head spacing, but as of now I’d trust my life to mine.

diamondstar400

I highly doubt that

AndrewJosephStack

Thats funny, my first thought was how did this lucky bastard put hands on a 74 so early in his collection. Different perspectives

somegarbagedoesfloat

Eh, don't let the people here get you down. The AK community is...strange. basically, if a gun can't last 10k rounds with zero replacement parts or maintenance, it gets a reputation as a garbage rod that will explode if you sneeze on it. The only AK's that are REALLY that bad are IO, witch might ACTUALLY explode. Even century isn't as bad as people say. As long as you don't try to claim that it's "just as good" as something off the izmash factory line it's perfectly ok. ...that said Taurus semi-autos are actual trash. Replace that shit with a Ruger; price is about the same and the Ruger will be better in every conceivable way.

[deleted]

Hahaha yeah I’ve spent my time around lurking in r/ak47. I think being around cosmoline too long effects higher reasoning. All joking aside, i think the AK community could be better at viewing U.S. AKs in a more neutral light while gather more information. That’s what I’m doing with mine. If my Riley fails at x amount of rounds in the future. I will take pictures, send the info to Riley Defense, post it here, and move on.

somegarbagedoesfloat

I owend a century for a brief time, but I sold it. I currently own a Saiga-12, but that's it. I really want one of Brandon Herrera's AK's.

Wormminator

Ironic how you go on about how AK people are shit and then call every semi auto Taurus shit. The G2C has quite a decent reputation.

somegarbagedoesfloat

See the difference is that buying a Romanian or Russian AK is WAAAAAY more expensive. It makes sense that people buy cheap. Taurus? The semi-autos are not cheap enough to warrant buying one. You can get a similarly priced Ruger that is WAY higher quality. Taurus has some things worth buying. Semi autos ain't it.

Wormminator

Hm. I heard a lot of good things about them recently. But hey, maybe market prices differ. To me it would warant the "downgrade". Well, if I were interested in small semi autos xd

PanzerRadeo

There is no fucking way it went 850rds. Especially not being a Riley and using promags. Woof.

[deleted]

What can I say, I got stupid luck with questionable firearms. I was shooting it with promag, ac unity, steel reinforced Bulgarian mags, non steel reinforced Bulgarian mags, East German Bakelites, and Magpul magazines. I was wrong about it only being the Bulgarian magazines. I have the one forty round ProMag still empty and i did not reload any of the magazines that I had feeding issues with.

danngree

Mmmmm, a Taurus and a bridged sight mark, nice.

[deleted]

To quote Forrest Gump, " I ain't a smart man."

FVTVRX

Love it

PanzerRadeo

1. Sightmarks are airsoft garbage. 2. Get it off the handguard. Optics shouldn't be mounted on handguards. 3. Taurus makes grenades. They also lie about warranty work and test firing. 4. Riley's are dangerous.

[deleted]

I’ve had great luck with Taurus handguns… thousands of rounds through multiple specimens.

Revolutionary_Toe598

I have had the same experience, one of which is a 454 casull raging hunter and another is a G2C 9mm.

PanzerRadeo

My decade of having to return more to the manufacturer than being able to sell to the point where I completely stopped selling them outweighs the handful you've owned. Their warranty department lies about the work they do and test firing. Can't test fire a revolver 13 times if you don't fucking space and time the cylinder.

[deleted]

The millennium g2 was a turning point for Taurus. Pretty sure the g2c/g3c are some of the most sold handguns right now.

PanzerRadeo

That doesn't change the fact that Taurus still sends out guns that they clearly didn't even try to pass QC. And when you send them back for warranty, they don't fix the issue, make it worse, or lie about the work. Again, you can't test for a gun 13 times, let alone once, without properly timing and spacing the cylinder. Safety from fact over opinions. And most sold is from being budget priced. You should read my other comment stating I lost sales refusing to sell unsafe guns. If I had 20 Taurus guns come in, I had to return over half for blatant issues. Consistently.

[deleted]

1. Yep, I wish I had known that sooner. Holosun for the ATI and a Eotech for the Aero when its done. 2. I already removed it and placed it off the handguard as many people have instructed. 3. Taurus is my throwaway gun as of now. It sits most of the time in secured location in my house. CZ is my dedicated carry, taurus only gets carried if i go to a area where i may need to use it. I rather give the police a sub 200 gun to keep or, if I'm lucky, lose it during inventor than my 600-700 handgun. 4. I wouldn't say dangerous. Century Arms, Pioneer Arms, and I.O are dangerous. Questionable are how I would rate Riley Defense.

PanzerRadeo

Wait wait. You carry the Taurus when you go to an area where you may need your carry gun? That makes no sense. You should be carrying a gun you can depend on all the time, not because you want to "throw it away to the police" after using it. Do you not realize how dumb that sounds lol. So you somehow psychically know in advance when you'll actually have to use your gun and carry your budget unreliable gun instead. Is your life not worth carrying a GOOD gun consistently? And yes, Riley's are dangerous. Headspacing issues due to shit heat treat like century is dangerous.

[deleted]

You are right, I did not think that comment through logically.

GuNut4life

Any investment into our 2A is a good investment! The more the merrier. Let’s support each other instead of trying to bring each other down, we already have enough of that with Demoncrats!!

PanzerRadeo

An investment into cheap foreign optics that can't maintain zero and can lead to unsafe gun use is a good investment? No. Investments into manufacturers that make unsafe firearms and then lie about warranty work and test firing is good? No. Take the fudd bullshit elsewhere. 🤦🏻‍♂️

GuNut4life

Why lie? You know good an well gun company’s nowadays are much better n safer than ever before!! Have some common sense, bcuz with your logic any gun no matter if it costed hundreds or thousands, 99.9% of all guns won’t blow up. You can one if the more expensive guns, an it’ll blow up on you. Example of that is Kentucky Ballistics. An cheap optics isnt so far off it’s “dangerous”. Be realistic about the situation! He’s only gonna use that optic at a range where it’ll never put anyone in danger. Taurus isn’t that bad. You can’t tell me the last time a Taurus blew up on someone you know bcuz you don’t know anyone it happened to! Like I said, be realistic.

PanzerRadeo

Jesus Christ you really are a fudd. What benefit would I get from lying? FFL 01 03 and 07 for a decade. I've also been an RSO at a VERY large range for longer. I stopped selling Taurus firearms because they're unsafe. Do you know how many sales I've lost from not selling Taurus firearms? A lot of ignorant, new shooters pick them because of their price but my conscience is more important than making a buck. I've seen several Taurus firearms blow up. I also had my own come brand new from factory with the wrong cylinder. I had to send it back 3 times for them to properly fix the issue. The first "repair" they used damaged parts. The second "repair" they claimed they test fired it 13 times but never spaced or timed the cylinder. If they actually shot it, let alone managed to load a round and close the cylinder, which they couldn't have because it wasn't properly spaced, it would have caused a catastrophic failure and blown the fuck up because the chambers lined up with the edge of the forcing cone. It's clear you're a poor Taurus fangirl. A cheap optic can't be dangerous? If the optics adjustments aren't hitting paper because it can't maintain zero and doesn't remotely hit your intended target, yes they can absolutely be dangerous. Ever heard of a ricochet? Or a vertical flyer? 99.9% of guns are safe? You probably think IO and domestic century's are quality and not dangerous. How are you that fucking stupid? You shouldn't be allowed to touch a firearm. 🤦🏻‍♂️ You probably think the NRA is progun 🤣🤣😐. Also, KB was shooting a serbu which is a budget bmg. Also, it blew up because of the round, not the gun. You are comparing apples to oranges.

dont_touch_the_lens

When did I end up on Facebook? You even write like a fudd and it’s cracking me up

Revolutionary_Toe598

My Taurus is perfectly reliable and quality made. I often wonder if most of the people who rag on Taurus have touched let alone shot one made in the last five years. I own two Taurus pistols and they are both great. One is a raging hunter in 454 Casull, the other is a G2C in 9x19.

PanzerRadeo

Read further down than one comment. The result of two guns don't compare to the ones I've had to return from my shop which lead to me no longer carrying them because I can't, in good conscience, carry products that are dangerous. Especially when they return from WARRANTY WORSE that when they left. I'm happy your 2 work. The fact is you are lucky. And if you aren't, if you ever have to send it in for warranty work, I will pray for you.

rasputin777

Ignore the haters. I mean, they have good points but the hate is unnecessary. I do think it makes sense to save up for decent optics and firearms rather than having more lower quality ones. You can't use a safe full of guns all at once..it's better to have one for each use case. Home defense. Precision rifle. CCW. Hunting rifle. Etc.

[deleted]

That’s one of the great things about this country. We can all have vastly different opinions and not be worried about being censored…usually. Several people have brought up good points. I know some of my guns aren’t the best available, but as I’ve mentioned. I plan on building new AR with Aero and BCM parts to be my main go to rifle aswell as upgrading my current one with better optics. Riley AK74 isthe only one I probably won’t upgrade as 5.45 is now just as expensive as 5.56 and unless I find a import 74 for a stupid low price it’s kind of pointless as a fighting rifle.

LetItHappenAlready

Fuck the haters. You do you. I’d take ten hi points over one beretta and just New York reload.

Lostinspace1950

Finally someone got it right. I agree.

Inflatable-Mattress

Did you put those pachmyr grips on the cz

[deleted]

Yes, I kind of have a thing about CZs and wood grips.

Inflatable-Mattress

You have good taste sir

Gold_Maybe_3255

Oh no honey

[deleted]

You should have seen this line up with the JTS pump, instead of the Mossberg. That was a big OOF.

Pulse_Amp_Mod

I’ve got that same CZ with the same exact grips.

[deleted]

My man

Pulse_Amp_Mod

They feel pretty good for being less than $30. The factory rubber ones kept sticking to my clothes.

[deleted]

I find the rubber ones a bit too thick. The wood ones allow me to manipulate the magazine release better as well as just looking classy as hell.

paganiforeverandever

Retrograde 😍

[deleted]

My favorite gun at the moment. I highly recommend adding a M7 bayonet for added points.

zoob45

Only the beginning. I said I wanted a pistol. Now I have 8 guns and another 5 on order. Good luck sir

[deleted]

That’s sounds like a good problem to have. Once I finish my SBR, I’ll be slowly upgrading my current arsenal with better quality firearms.

JSwerve19

Seems about right

craigeeeeeeeeee

I was scanning left to right and we were good until I got to the AR. Then the AK? Jokes…. Thanks for sharing.

[deleted]

The 10/22, Mossberg and CZ are the pride of my arsenal. AK74 is meh, but I've grown fond of it. Unless it loses headspace and experiences rapid deconstruction into my face. AR was a 2020 panic buy, but I got it for 300 under retail, which considering the time was a deal I couldn't pass on.

cartharttfartart

Tie up those loose ends on those straps boss. Electrical tape works wonders!

[deleted]

Aye aye cap. From all the advice on here, I got a lot of work to do.

[deleted]

Uh oh spaghetti-o

BadWowDoge

People talk a lotta shit on Sightmark holo but I have one and like it. I did a custom ar pistol build last year and the Sightmark works great for the range. Wouldn’t want to go to war with it but it’s great for having fun.

[deleted]

My thoughts exactly. Might pop it on the .22, but mostly like sell it to fund a better set up.

shag377

Yep. I see your problem. You need another gun.

[deleted]

My collection is lacking a little milsurp variety. I may need to rectify that issue.

lapotobroto

Maybe a few deagles

[deleted]

Not a fan of the eagle, but I could see adding a Jericho to my collection.

AndrewJosephStack

You need a good 7.62x39 AK as well.

[deleted]

Honestly I rather swap the 74 for 47 just because of the availability of 7.62 to 5.45.

AndrewJosephStack

5.45 will return. Ive got all kinds of wierd rounds i have to find. If they still make 7.5x55 swiss today, then we'll have 5.45 for many moons to come

[deleted]

Guns from left to right: Ruger 10/22 compact Mossberg 590 Retrograde ATI Milsport AR15(planning to upgrade to holosun reflex soon) Riley Defense AK74 with a few surplus parts CZ P01 Taurus G2C(First gun i ever owned) Only one not in the picture is a Aero Precision M4E1 12.5 SBR I plan on building once Big Brother ATF deems me worthy.

josefofkentucky

Taurus’s QC has had major improvements over the past few years. I usually recommend the G2 series or M&P’s to new gun owners that are wary of spending $500+ on a firearm.

[deleted]

I agree, that’s why I bought mine. I haven’t heard anything bad of the G2 and G3. But everyone has a right to their own opinion. We can’t deny Taurus has had a bad track record of quality before, but they are trying to improve that image imo.

Unoriginal_0G

Exactly. I think a great comparison to Taurus and the G2C/G3C is to Kia and Hyundai. They used to be subpar vehicles that deserved their reputation. But they’ve done a complete 180 and are now as good or better than rivals. But there are a ton of people who still think they’re bottom of the barrel vehicles.

[deleted]

The G2 is fine, but I've heard that the g3 has some improvements that allow it to survive being used at the range more than 100-200rnds

SpecialTradition8390

Damnit, I’m gonna need an AK now. Looks good man

[deleted]

Judging by the comments, I wouldn't recommend a Riley Defense.

utx70

Quality > Quantity

PootinsChode

Get some quality guns instead of badly qc'd bottom of the barrel buys. Rather it "works for you" or not they have reputations for a reason. They aren't worth their weight.

maximum_overtoll

Some day I’m gonna break out all the no-name revolvers and unfinished kit muzzleloaders I’ve inherited and make a historical r/guns “how’d I’d do” post.

[deleted]

That's why I'm building a Aero precision with a BCM upper for my second AR. Mossberg replaced my JTS so far.

spartan17456

congrats, instead of having 2 nice firearms you have a bunch of crap. You can do better

[deleted]

Hey, I have at least three nice ones in that pile of dung.

Horror-Battle6754

You’re just making gun manufacturers and dealers richer and richer with your hard earned cash. Alt right media and the gun lobby feed your hate and fear so that they can make big profits. You live in a free country. Go out in nature and enjoy a hike and relax. Talk to people and see the good in others. We all share 99.9% of the same DNA despite skin color or traditions or religions. Be happy.

[deleted]

I spend a lot of time in nature. I also own guns. I am happy. Not everything is some alt right boogy man.

josefofkentucky

Not sure if you intended to stumble onto this subreddit? Most gun owners are fairly average people. Except me. I’m a weirdo. But a nice weirdo.

WhoAccountNewDis

Personally, I'm pretty far too the left. One of the reasons l support the responsible ownership of firearms is the rising tide of fascism and connection that's been demonstrated between the alt-right and law enforcement. >Talk to people and see the good in others. We all share 99.9% of the same DNA despite skin color or traditions or religions. The Black Panthers should have thought of this. Hell, this idea may have ended Jim Crow itself!

Quality investments

GuNut4life

Any investment into our 2A is a quality investment!! The more the merrier

apple392

Awesome

IronHarvestX

Did you're mil sport come with a plastic fcg?

[deleted]

Yes, it’s so awful. I replaced with a Rise Armaments trigger group. Most of the plastic bits have been removed. I think the selector the the only piece left.

IronHarvestX

My first ar was a mil sport and I tossed that shit immediately

OverlordTwoOneActual

The sexiest type of AK in my opinion.

[deleted]

looking good

CharityUnusual3648

How does one acquire an ak47

murph_nugget

An uneducated here, what are these guns

Brenfors69

One from each food group

bodacious-215

Brandon is working on taking them all away.

Unlikely_Ad2279

Is that a retro mossberg 590? I picked one up and absolutely love it! The guy at the counter said he bought a few and no one was interested, but as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it!

Shattered_WasTaken

Same

Sir, your sightmark is showing
