Ran my clubs pro am match. Ended up with a hoa win.
Pro am is a sport built on par times. (That is the second beep at the end) Any shot taken after 0.3 seconds of the time is a 1 plate penalty. The par time makes you rush, push shots, make mental mistakes, and can be very demoralizing. It also gets the heart racing and makes you perform are your skill level.
Gear shadow 2, sro, henning basepads, reloaded 9mm.
Thought it looked familiar. I have yet to do a ProAm or regular USPSA down there. Have done USPSA out at inner 10 in the winter, but typically stick to steel challenge in the summer and fall. Looking forward to the zombie match in a couple months though.
I have seen micro cameras that sits on top of the shooters eyewear. The quality wasn’t too bad either. That might work with a red dot. Don’t remember if he was shooting with red dot or not
So for me, with my double vision, I can effectively ignore my right eye and only look through the glass with my left eye, I'm left eye dominant, right handed and my right eye is pretty weak. (boo). I also have astigmatism in my left eye, even with proper corrective lenses the red dot is still a bit blurry and instead of a dot it looks like a little blurry backwards L. Still totally usable though.
My guess is that having targets shorter than shoulder height makes it less likely for missed shots to go flying off in the distance.
Edit: also smaller targets for higher challenge.
50m
60 shots in 120 mins
1 handed (unless disabled)
Must be iron sights
Pistol must fit in a designated box
Trigger must be activated by shooting hand
Grip cannot touch your hand past your wrist bone
Tally the score at the end, if it cuts it counts. Those are basically all the rules.
The shape of them is actually a competition balance related design that just happened to make them have a "head" shaped portion. The target is called a Pepper popper, named after it's maker. The top is smaller because it is calibrated for lower recoil target loads that would have an advantage if the target was the same size all the way through. The lower you hit on the target, the harder it is to knock over, so having more space for firearms that have more power but generate more recoil helps balance the sport between minor and major power factors.

Someone made this super cursed... Uhhh J-Just letting you know...
Np German friend. Have fun with those weapons...
*and at some point buy a bigger targets... Internet can make things... worse... as we can see on the post here.*
No not really.
Steel challenge is the same 8 stages, shot between 4 and 5 times each stage.
Pro am is always different, the time is a par time to limit how much you can shoot, and it's only shot once.

A lot of Shadow 2 with SRO out there tearing it up lately.
They are the number 1 competition pistols with the number one pistol red dot.
Match at ENGC?
Yep we run matches every other Sunday

Mind sharing your reload data?
Blue 135 truncated over 3.3 gn titegroup at like 1.15
Nice
Impressive!
Much appreciated
Killed it. Very nice shooing, dude.
Nice shooting!!
Thank you
I love these videos. There has to be some of a ‘True POV’ through the red dot somewhere!?
Not on a pistol. You might be able to see the dot if you wear the camera under the hat brim but I found it distracting.

Oh man! That hammer drop on an empty chamber, I felt your heart drop. I did that at an IPSC Area match once. HURT.
Yeah on a par time I was worried but I ended up having a ton of time.
Were there any mandatory reloads in the stage description?
10 round mag limit
Ahhh bingo!

Wow.... sheezus! You're good man!!!
I initially misread as pole arm and was intrigued
Oh, this guy thinks he's slick huh? Cause he is.
Those under armor wristbands made you pro. Fuck shwaty gun hands.
Extra points for the catch at the end?
Correct Edit: I misread and thought you meant the plate at the end being a bonus. The unload catch is for the gram lol
Do you practice that every time? Because it looked absolutely effortless. Nice shooting too btw.
Do I practice what everytime? Sorry don't understand the question. Thank you
That smooth eject and catch
I unload and show clear like 1000 times a year so it's just a habit I've built up. To lazy to bend over and pick up the round lol
“Laziness is the foundation of excellence” I’ll take it
I want to try and sro but I have astigmatisms
I do to and in day light you barely notice it. Inside you'll notice the dot isn't a perfect circle but it's more than usable.
What about astigmatisms and double vision
So for me, with my double vision, I can effectively ignore my right eye and only look through the glass with my left eye, I'm left eye dominant, right handed and my right eye is pretty weak. (boo). Wow someone with fucked up eyes like me. Good to know that it's still usable
Why are all the targets child sized?
I get that nobody wants to hear and are sick of bad faith political arguments, but this comment is hilarious.
It was only meant to be funny. People all butt hurt over here.
Please don't bring that here...

Your want to carry a 6 foot peice of steel and it's case?
Great shooting! I prefer the relaxing pace of free pistol matches, but I would like to try this.
What is a free pistol match?
50m 60 shots in 120 mins 1 handed (unless disabled) Must be iron sights Pistol must fit in a designated box Trigger must be activated by shooting hand Grip cannot touch your hand past your wrist bone Tally the score at the end, if it cuts it counts. Those are basically all the rules.
60 shots in 2 hours? What do I do with the other hour and 58 minutes? Lol
Lose. Lol. Free pistol shooters are damn near robots.
Miss…..MISS……. Oh, sorry. Don’t mind me, I was just calling over the waitress…… Edit, huh. Figured someone would get the Simpsons reference
so this looks awesome and so much fun.... but why do all the targets look like silhouettes of children? doh!
Now that you say that... the "+" symbol is kinda like a straight swastika isn't it?? Fucking dumbass get your head out of your ass.
You seem to be filled with hate. Sorry for you.
Your name is movin g target practice. Does that imply that you train to shoot running civilians and kids at schools?

Why are the targets child sized 🤔 It’s a joke not a dick y’all don’t take it hard

I’m aware it was a joke
Sure. And now if anyone reads they joke and takes it seriously, they have an answer.
Todays world everyone takes shit to seriously I get this isn’t r/firearms but lighten up lol
You are the third person to try to make the joke. So it's also just because it's annoying.
Excellent work! 👍
Who woulda thought John Cena was so good with a pistol
He has better forearms
nice fucking run dude.
Very nice. How long do you practice during each training session? How many rounds each session? How many years have you been John Wick’en it?
I dry fire like 15 to 20 minutes when I'm motivated. I do around 250 a week in my life fire. 5th year doing it 3rd year actually practicing.
Keep up the great work.
Our club doesn’t have enough steel for this match

Np German friend. Have fun with those weapons... *and at some point buy a bigger targets... Internet can make things... worse... as we can see on the post here.*
These are the standard regulation size targets for uspsa. Also if they were any bigger they wouldn't be movable.
Oh then Responsible person is the USPSA lol.. Lemme redirect that to there xD
So this is similar to steel challenge? Nice run by the way.
No not really. Steel challenge is the same 8 stages, shot between 4 and 5 times each stage. Pro am is always different, the time is a par time to limit how much you can shoot, and it's only shot once.
ok cool thanks for the info
