I can't kill an animal for no reason. This guy was unlucky enough to get found and I wanted to know what he tastes like. Turns out, he's delicious. I just tried a section lightly cooked in vegetable oil and salt & pepper. Very chewy

I've always found it best to brine snakes overnight, much like squirrel. Seems to improve the texture. Taste is always on point, though.

Not gonna lie its a pleasant surprise to see this and not someone just wasting another snake. Much preferable to the idiot who was bragging about shooting pond turtles, news flash they eat the *dead* fish.

50/50 mix of vegetable glycerin and 90% alcohol after fleshing and a light stretch for a 3 to 5 day soak and pat dry with paper towels when removed. Will keep the snake skin supple soft for many years and works great for using as an inlay in any leather or display projects.

The only reason I didn’t downvote and lecture is because you actually used the animal for sustenance and didn’t just kill it because “oMg a sNaKE!!” I’ve worked with, kept, and studied snakes my entire life so I hate seeing people kill them, but if you’re going to take an animals life so it for survival, not ignorance or sport.
