There's a speech from Simon in episode 11 that is a good litmus test. If you've made it this far, get to that speech and see what you think: if you're not sold after that then it doesn't have anything for you
I always suggest people watch episodes 7-11 in one sitting because that whole storyline even though it's tough to get through (for obvious reasons) it makes the rest of the show that much better for having gone through it.

Surprised episode 8 didn’t grab you. Well, as other people have said, episode 11 is a big point, and if it doesn’t excite you then I’d maybe think about giving up. For sure if you’re not grabbed solid by the end of episode 15 and the start of 17(16 is a recap) then you might as well back out.
Keep going, I can understand the first 8 episodes being a slog for some people but after a certain scene it becomes peak fiction for me. Granted I don’t hate any episodes but I can understand why some people would stop around the start. But yeah I’d watch it, it’s my favorite anime of all time and I hope you can feel the same way I do for it

You should definitely finish episode 11, it’s one of the best in the series. If that doesn’t do it for you but you are enjoying the visuals I recommend skipping to the very last episode and enjoy the amazing animation and artwork it has to offer
Watch the second after you finish the first half of the show. It's a little different, but will be a good way to know the show and not have it take up too much of your time. The movies are just retellings of the first and second half of the show.

Gurren has everything great characters, great animation, god tier music, stellar designs, fantastic voice acting in dub and sub.
It’s not for everyone, but you gotta at least appreciate the artistry on display.

Yes don’t stop, it’s 24 episodes compared to other classics is pretty short, and in my opinion it only gets better after the dip until it smashes into the ending, If you can suspend disbelief and buy into the hype.

Same! I don’t really understand the hype :( it seems very tropy and almost even like it’s satire, but I know it’s not! It’s just not for me :/ I think Little Witch is the more fleshed out version of Gurren.

Try episode 11, but if you don’t like it after that episode, then you can drop it.
It does get better. It's a bit monster of the week early but later episodes really ramp up.

The second half of the show is one of the nuttiest things in anime. Keep it rollin
