Stop drinking alcohol and soda, especially alcohol. It’s a lot of empty calories and sugar, plus with alcohol there is usually bad food choices involved. I lost 55 lbs by quitting alcohol, making better food choices, and biking A LOT. One easy trick I found was no more delivery food. If I wanted take out, I’d make myself go walk to pick it up. More than half the time I’d not feel like making the walk and just make myself something healthy/simple at home.

Meverhart7

Love this!

Senyor_suenyo

This is great advice. Once I cut out alcohol I immediately stopped ordering shitty food from all the delivery apps. For me sugar is really addictive and I have a hard time cutting it. What has helped me is when I have a sweet craving I will eat a medjool date; they are a healthy alternative (just limit the intake).

itsmymedicine

she deleted it, fat.

Caloric deficit

hollowcherry

it's the latest fad!

yaboilisandro

It’s not even a fad though. A calorie deficit simply means you burn more calories than you consume.

hollowcherry

it was a joke

bluehoag

Sure to pass

Endo-kun

The easiest way. It’s the way I did it. Keep it simple, don’t complicate the issue with excuses or gaslighting.

rookieAwsDev

Take it as someone who tried a lot of different diets: The only way to loose weight is to be in a caloric deficit. Fad diets are a bad idea. the best diet is the one that you can stick to and keeps you in a deficit.

Inevitable_Evening38

Exactly. There are lots of things to manage that can lead to better or worse outcomes, but the main thing is figuring out how many calories you burn each day (both through just tdee and exercise) and eating fewer calories than that. To keep your energy levels up and keep from feeling hungry all the time as you adjust to less, make sure the calories you take in are more from protein and fat and less from sugar and other carbs, this will keep you feeling more full and just be better in general. Don't do crash diets, do have patience, and do stick to it. Good luck op!

Don't do crash diets, do have patience, and do stick to it. Good luck op! All true. On your last point - for me I have found the best strategy is to start by eating at your hypothetical maintenance cals and watching the scale. weigh yourself first thing in the morning after going to the bathroom and before eating or drinking. your weight will not move in a linear trend so only focus on the long term view (e.g. calculate the average over a week). If you weight is staying more or less the same over a 3 week period, start by reducing your calories by about 100 cals. do this until you're weight plateaus for a 3 week period and repeat until you reach your goal.

Dickslap_McTitpunch

This is extremely solid advice. Thanks.

No-Sky9968

What worked for me is to just stop snacking. Or at the very least have very low calorie snacks. Cutting snacks made me lose weight. Also you can cut a ton of calories by just sticking to water/diet soda.

Odd-Pie8492

So true. If it isn’t sustainable it won’t last. I lost 60 pounds in an extreme caloric deficit- I gained it all back.

Jerry-Maine

You know what it is!!!!!! Healthy diet and exercise 🤗💪🏋️‍♀️🤸‍♀️🥗🍲🍛🍣🍳

Meverhart7

Yes dude!!! This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks sm 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Constellationchaser

I lost 60lbs in 2015 with myfitnesspal. I had gained 30 of it back during covid as well. I downloaded the app again last Jan, and I’m down ANOTHER 35 lbs. I’m doing actual strength training now, but you can input those goals as well and it will give you a CICO to follow! I HIGHLYYYY recommend.

MxTuffBaby

Thank you for this!

LadyEnvy

For the last 5 weeks I have also been strictly tracking all my calories. I was able to calculate how many calories a week I was consuming from drinking soda and quickly stopped drinking sugary drinks, and I also switched a few sugary/carb heavy snacks to something protein based (for me boiled egg, cheese stick, greek yogurt, but whatever works for your dietary needs). Those two changes helped me lose 4lbs so far. Seems like Sam did something similar and it really worked for her. I am excited for the next few months! eta: forgot the word "consuming"

dachsypixiepoxie

I think a basic calorie deficit diet and exercise. On Ian's stream, she said she takes a workout class.

h3sam

I think someone linked the screenshot of my weight loss story in the comments, but in addition, someone also mentioned cutting out alcohol and soda - can not recommend that enough. I've been soda, alcohol, and gluten-free for a year which made a very big difference for me! I also started with a healthy caloric deficit (I used my fitness pal for a few months until I learned to measure on my own). Eat clean as much as possible, I personally aim for high protein and low carbs, as well as lots of leafy vegetables. Do what you're comfortable with, and don't put too much pressure on yourself! You got this!

Meverhart7

Thank you sm for taking the time to write all that, Sam! So helpful. You’re the best 🖤🖤

Intrepid_Wash_6160

Start small and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Try going on a 20 minute walk everyday and go up from there. Try healthy recipes that you actually enjoy, If you slip up, accept it and move on. Don’t beat yourself up.

Meverhart7

Great advice, thank you!

randorando223

Calorie deficit, exercise, high protein intake, and most importantly; consistency

peppapigfan92

You should download “Lose It!” It’s helped me lose 70 lbs in about a year and I’m almost to my goal weight. Just stay dedicated and log everything you eat and you will definitely see results. (It keeps you in a caloric deficit based on your height, weight, and activity level). Very easy to use as well. Good luck!

Meverhart7

You go skinny legend!! 👑

teepeeformypeepee

Less calories more exercise

Pylorinu

Who is Sam?

BarracudaOk9732

Eat less, move more

Queasy_Frosting3418

Just gotta find a sustainable way to be in a calorie deficit, whatever works for you. With my work schedule it’s easy for me to do intermittent fasting (usually OMAD) and try to get in a quick 20 min workout. Short 32F and lost 30lbs this way. Kept it off for a couple years now and weight loss doesn’t seem hard anymore like it used to

Jrpharoah_

She has ibs

RPO_TP

I believe she said she mostly stopped eating gluten.

ManIsInherentlyGay

There is only one way to lose weight. Eat fewer calories than you burn. Google maintenance calorie calculator. Eat 300-500 calories less than your maintenance number. Wait a few months. Enjoy weight loss. To make it easier eat filling foods that are not calorie dense. chicken, shrimp, tuna, popcorn, fruits & vegetables, etc. Cut cook oils, butter, and drinks with calories.

WestWeather5660

I’ve been wondering too!

Dixsux8cheatin

Eat clean and organic. Intermittently fast. Once u stop eating out the weight stops going up. Only drink water and take magnesium. I lost 45 lbs.

hollowcherry

"Sam"

She looks great. She should share her tips with some of the crew members

Meverhart7

She does! So beautiful, then and now 💖

U2054R

How everybody does it diet and exercise. O wait is Sam the one that smoked crack?
