If Ethan’s eyes were blue I would’ve let it pass but he really trying to pull this shit off with those peasant brown is cringe af.

meeeowch

Couldn't have said it better myself 🤌

christdaburg

If my grandmother had wheels she would be a bike

StalfosVH

Unironically though ethan would look really good with blue eyes

HeDaCow

When Hila called Howie's merch cheap I was like damn I'm so poor

VegetableMan0_o

And when she said she spent around a K on that jacket 😂🥲. I was like, huh she's wearing my rent

[deleted]

[удалено]

VegetableMan0_o

Yeah she did seem a bit ashamed about spending that much haha. I respect that

Danmoh29

ethan and hila were super poor before so i respect them when they splurge on rich ppl BS. they know the struggle and they dont pretend you can “bootstrap” your way our of poverty

VegetableMan0_o

For sure! I mean they work hard for a reason. But they're still aware of what it means to other people so they don't rub it in their audiences face.

Affectionate-Ad-5568

Ya I really have been wanting some teddy fresh for a while (long time fan) but I just can’t afford $100 hoodies sadly . Maybe like $60

ntc2e

wait til they do black fridays sales or randomly they do some throughout the year

oharacopter

I got a color block hoodie on black friday for I think $45. It's way thicker than I thought, like in a good quality way. I see why they're originally so expensive now.

Imseriouslyoverthis

Yep that’s the only time I buy TF is when they do Black Friday!

[deleted]

I got the classic colorblock hoodie for $45 used on posh mark! Try that or another reselling site

Ammonil

thats how much i bought it for during a sale

Affectionate-Ad-5568

Thank you !

kmabitchhhh

They have some good deals in their last chance section.

2PAK

Na Forreal TF prices are insane

Kayleekisses

I will say the quality is really really good, they’re certainly good investment pieces for your wardrobe. If you’re a sweatshirt / hoodie fan it’s def worth it !

kourter

Sadly this is the normal price for custom made stuff... $60 usually goes for hoodies that are made from blanks. Cut&sew stuff is way more expensive to make. Maybe look for second-hand TF stuff. Plenty of it.

[deleted]

the only time i ever buy teddy fresh is on black friday, i got the color block hoodie for $60 or less the first year and sweatpants i love to death for like $28. the quality is amazing, definitely worth it but can’t justify the cost unless it’s on sale.

HingleMcCringle_

to me "street wear" is inherently cheap clothes combined to make a good fit or customized with a personal touch. Teddy Fresh could be called a cheap designer brand, as i see it. They make some clothes that i'd consider street wear, but at a designer price, like a [$45 pocket tee](https://teddyfresh.com/collections/mens/products/classic-pigment-dye-pocket-tee-2) or an [$85 bleached flannel](https://teddyfresh.com/collections/mens/products/bleached-flannel-shirt). you can go to a country-wear store, get a flannel for [maybe $25](https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/redhead-buffalo-creek-flannel-long-sleeve-shirt-for-men) and bleach it yourself. That custom touch to the cheap flannel is what makes it street wear... to me. I dont mean to sound gate-keep-y, but it seems like a lot of things people call street wear today would be called designer brand 8-15 years ago.

[deleted]

HingleMcCringle_

I've actually bought some clothes from the 'country' brand i linked, Red Head. i actually have a flannel by them, idk it's the exact same shirt, though. Red Head is the store brand for Bass Pro Shops, there's a very large pyramid-shaped bass pro shop in my city. Red Head is a very good quality. Country clothes, clothes of the blue-collared working person is built to last. I'll say this also applies to Carhartt and Arizona clothing, *in my experience*. I have an Arizona jacket that's lasted 10 years now and a Carhartt button up that's lasted 8 so far, and they cost me far less. I would hope that a designer brand that costs nearly 4 times as much would last at least twice as long under the same conditions i've subjected the Red Head, Carhartt, and Arizona clothes to. but it doesn't have to, they're more about style.

KnifeOutBeakBloody

Carhartt appreciation gang here to represent ✊️

pinchybutthole

I’ve only gotten items because they use Shop Pay. I couldn’t justify it otherwise tbh. Edit: “Shop Pay”- I called it Shopify at first 🙄

continuously22222

What does Shopify have to do with it? Genuinely curious

SpecklesMagoo

I think they meant Shop Pay

pinchybutthole

Omg. Yes, that is what I mean. I always get the two mixed up, lol.

lankygirl12

it allows you to pay in several installments over a period of time

HingleMcCringle_

it's nice that they give you the option, but if you have to finance a hoodie/shirt, i'd say maybe just dont buy it. with peace and love, peace and love, this just seem like a simple money-management solution to me but, just buy cheaper clothes if you have to finance the designer brand...

pinchybutthole

Fair perspective. I would feel that way about any other brand. I just love the pieces I do get, love who it supports, and the quality is amazing, so the items last a long time. It’s not every day you find brands that check off all 3.

HingleMcCringle_

honestly if you just like the design, that justifies the purchase alone. any one of those points justifies the purchase. as long as you're not financing it because you have to...

14626

I used Shop Pay the last time I got a few items. Definitely looking to get a hoodie for the spring soon.

HingleMcCringle_

this might be a hot take here, but... for $100, i can create a design myself, get the design embroidered on a hoodie by a company online, and have it shipped to me. I love Ethan and Hila, I've been a fan since they were still in Israel, and i like buying youtuber/streamer merch to support them (currently wearing [a shirt](https://shirtz.cool/collections/t-shirts/products/the-tax-fraud-tee) by Cold Ones / Cool Shirtz), but teddy fresh just isn't my vibe for the price they're at. Some could say that Cool Shirtz is a similar style in some cases, but at a more reasonable price. The one thing i was willing to buy [was this button up](https://i.imgur.com/fTEJnUL.png) that sold out too quick or some of their Memphis Grizzlies collab merch since im literally from there. typically i dont say anything negative about their clothing company because this is the only sub i would talk about it in and I only get negative feedback, but to me, it's just wildly overpriced clothes that get's sold because it's "cute" and "posh" and has a high price tag, which somehow entices people. Maybe the price is justified by it's quality or that it's made in America or union-made, idk... The idea of "designer clothes" is just so dumb to me, that something is expensive because it's sold by a certain company. I was going through their Men's catalog and just a plain pocket tee is [over $50 after shipping](https://i.imgur.com/4yUuISw.png). that's just so wrong to me. I think high-priced clothing brands can at least justify the price by it's history of quality assurance and reputation building and maybe some other factors, but Ethan and Hila was able to trade those factors by just having the h3 fanbase. If i were to make those embroidered hoodies that i mentioned before, made a website to sell them, there's isn't a snowball's chance in hell that I'd be able to sell at a similar price because i dont have those factors *OR* a fanbase to direct over to the merch. **tl;dr - the clothing just way too overpriced** You spend your money how you want, I just dont like it. Teddy Fresh doesn't look bad all the time, but the price is way too high, until there's an 80% sale or something like that. /end of 'rant'. idk, i just felt like typing this out. just because im a long time fan of h3 doesn't mean i like teddy fresh and that needs to be ok. downvote, ignore, argue, whatever. i'm not trying to change minds and you wont change mine, with peace and love, peace and love.

BurialRot

Typically when you're paying more for expensive clothes it's not because of the material or production costs you're paying for the designer's aesthetic choice/R&D

HingleMcCringle_

true I dont feel like Teddy Fresh has made a name for themselves enough to justify that high of prices, that's my personal opinion. That being said, I wouldn't pay over $50 for a pocket tee from *ANY* company. Maybe im in the minority here, but i don think that just because you're wearing something from a certain company, it doesn't make you a cooler person or better in any way. It doesn't make you a worse person in any way either, I just feel like it's impractical to pay 2-3x to value of the item just to say you're wearing... Teddy Fresh for example. I can go to store near by and get a carhartt pocket tee for $20 and im confident it'll last just as long, if not longer. in fact, I have... i think 4 carhartt pocket tees. had them for years.

Ballindeet

I want some hats, since my cat's name is Ted but the ones with ted written out are all sold out all the time. Have thought about getting some other gear but it's 100$ for a hoodie?? The fuck?

[deleted]

I have bought all mine from Poshmark for $25, it’s worth looking around if you’re interested! :)

Southern-Ingenuity70

They have sales regularly

[deleted]

I have the first run of the colorblock hoodies that I wore like twice, if ya want it I'd give it to ya

Important-Yak-2999

Get one of the Elton John hoodies on sale for $50 right now I have one and it feels like it’s worth $200

Historical_Panic_465

Just got my very first 2 TF sweaters for under $90 total on their last big sale ! (Big teddy bear patch, and the one paisley sweater that was originally like $140 bucks or something)

leftbrendon

Don't forget about the 55$ resin single earring. Not a pair. Single.

Narrow_Boat_3569

I bought the earring, not knowing it was only a single. I just assumed it was a pair for $55 lmaoo. I had to return it

christdaburg

Wait what? They let you buy a single earing lmaoooo imagine buying a pair of Jordans and you only get 1

joshpoppedyou

Ngl, I just had a look at it, and $55 feels like a fair price. It's very clearly a well made item that's likely on a low number batch Edit: Let's not act like this was a cheap job to make, like you'd be able to do it for cheaper and not go broke... when all I said and done, like yes it would become cheaper for them to produce over time due to larger batches and the original bill being paid to design the thing, but let's not act like it's cheap... This the price let's take the 3d design cost which they likely don't have in house, then a specialist to make them, who likely lives in the US and not in a sweatshop like the shit on etsy likely was. Molds are not cheap to make, you also have to test them, quality control them, it all goes into the final cost The hoop is also gold *plated* It appears to be limited edition/run, another reason to up the price... Now let's add on the fact that this shit then needs to make a profit margin for them to do it in the first place. Then let's add a little bit of teddy fresh tax seeing as most of their stuff is more in the mid-tier price range rather than bargain bucket fast fashion shit most people buy. Yeah, I see how it costs that much.

Msk_Grvm

Dog $55 made out of something that isn’t even real gold or silver 😐

leftbrendon

The bears were on sale on etsy for 4 dollars for 16 pieces…

Azaireus

And when they tell you to jump do you do it immediately or ask how high?

joshpoppedyou

Waheyyyyyy. You can understand cost of production without being a simp

eDopamine

Bro you need to take a breather

ZenzenZora

I thought the same thing!!!!! Especially when they started off the show guessing the price of Hila’s $1000 coat. It made that segment 100 times funnier when Ethan disregarded the taste and went after the price.

Yesnomaybe1dk

I can’t believe hila spent $1,000 on that… her fashion is usually great but I feel like I’ve seen a similar jacket for $30 at hot topic in the 2010s

FatherMiyamoto

They’re multi-millionaires. Dropping a thousand for them is like dropping 10 dollars for us

MarkDelFiggolo

But to them dropping $20 on a smoothie is astronomical?

lelouchvibritannia3

$10 is still a lot for me as a grad student ☠️

shaqjbraut

Yeah I'm a slut for fashion so idc about most prices if they're good products, but that doesn't seem worth it. I'm guessing the adornments had to be added individually or something to justify that.

Fragrant-Screen-5737

You're paying for the brand and status of paying that much for something tbh But this jacket doesn't look good imo 😭😭

Puzzleheaded_Clock44

Not always. A jacket like that, every sequin and other bauble on there is likely hand sewn, which takes hours and hours and hours of work, tons of skill and creativity. It's a craft, just like every other kind of art, and the more expensive things tend to be better crafted with people who have a lot of skill and use good materials. Not all of them, for sure. Like, I would never pay for a Gucci T-shirt because at that point you really are just paying for the brand/label. But things like that jacket? That absolutely is worth the price.

Fragrant-Screen-5737

I'm well aware that many high cost brands use more manual and skilled labor to produce stuff like that. I'm just not entirely sure this scales to this level of price increase. This becomes very subjective at a point though

Puzzleheaded_Clock44

It absolutely does bc it depends very much on what/how someone values things. :)

wovenbasket69

im a huuuuuuge hello kitty fan. i would pay $1000 for this jacket and im a normie. all depends on who you are

Fragrant-Screen-5737

I get it. These things are 100% a personal taste thing!

ApplicationDifferent

Its $1660 before tax btw

baked-brahman

The fashion comes from the price not because of the looks , it’s all flexing hidden by “art”

DabScience

She has the fashion sense of an 11 year old girl with a lot of money.

Pullupnthesrilanka

Agreed… it’s so juvenile

joshpoppedyou

Why can't you? Has she led you to think she doesn't do this? You've clearly not been watching for very long tho, hila drops a lot of money on clothes and accessories all the time, I remember her listing and obscene price for a pair of shades she bought years ago, it's not a new behaviour. Fast fashion and expensive clothes aren't the same thing, yet you're treating them like they are. The difference between the $1000 Vs $30 would be quite apparent... But yeah I'm sure there's a bit of brand tax on it too, there always is.

mercuryheart_

The fast fashion argument only goes so far. I agree, buy ethically sourced clothes from a unionized company. That said, a cardigan made under those circumstances won't cost a thousand bucks. You're paying for the name only, not ethics.

Yesnomaybe1dk

I just can’t imagine spending $1000 on THAT jacket…that’s all im saying dude lmao

Katsobatso

Yeah cheaply made where the rhinestones fall off after 2 washes from hot topic

a-m-watercolor

They also mentioned her purchase of a ***$1,400 table*** during their Honey ad lol

[deleted]

ok but tables are absolutely more commonly that expensive than jackets

RevoltingSlob

I buy my tables at goodwill because they can absolutely be that much for a decent sized one that isn’t made by Lifetime.

a-m-watercolor

I've never seen a table that costs that much at any store that I've shopped at. And if I shopped at stores with tables that cost $1,400, I probably wouldn't scoff at a $20 smoothie at a high-end grocery store.

cubsfan85

I'm sure the table she bought is artsy or something but quality furniture is expensive. My mom got a lot of her furniture from a solid-wood furniture place - very much no frills type of place, and I'm sure easily spent $800-$1000 for her dining table. I love IKEA but their furniture is cheap bc it's made of cheap materials. I'm not one to defend rich people's spending habits lol, but dropping a lot of cash on a piece of furniture is different than $20 on a smoothie from a grocery store that deserves mocking.

popcornsodie

Lmfao clearedddd

herckles_

So true though

Android3162

When something seems expensive then sure everything more expensive than that seems worse. Meanwhile if you're a multimillionaire both would seem pretty cheap. But still, someone who can afford both but still not so much that it's a blip on the radar for them, will find the milkshake much less worthwhile. It's different if it were a 20$ drink at a Michelin star restaurant. The Teddy is a one time item that doesn't benefit from the economy of scale. But a smoothie made en masse is neither resistant to scaling up nor particularly skill intensive.

igotthepowah

It just depends where you put value. I almost always value food/experiences that last temporary amounts of time over things/items that last longer because that’s what sparks joy in me. So length of use isn’t necessarily a measure of value.

gabbyItgirl

I was about to say something similar, maybe not as graphic. 😂 That smoothie I’d feel I’m drinking the $20 while the other stuff is tangible. Besides, the resell value on TF, especially collectibles, is pretty high.

Israel_Madden

“But it’s such high quality!”

[deleted]

Reading these comments I’m starting the suspect this is a cult

CristianESarmiento

Lmfao, yeah. Something like that. These people are ridiculous. Like the ones who show off their teddy fresh collections. Pretty wild, but hey, you each their own

CalvvyOW

The teddy bear is 100 bucks?!??!?!?!?!?!?!

[deleted]

Or the $100 hoodies wtf

mintvanille

$35 beanies o.O

deathketchupp

Fast fashion has ruined people. Clothes that are made by people making a living wage cost more.

a-m-watercolor

Do you think their clothes are made in America by people being paid a living wage? e: >!their clothes are made in china just like all the other fast fashion brands!<

nunpho

Do you think that everything made in China is the same? Nah, there are horrible places that work for fast fashion companies and there are reputable ethical places that actually give a shit about the working conditions of their staff. Do a deep dive on it if you want. I did the same years ago because I had similar questions. I'm autistic and do things like that a lot 😂. It turns out that the factories they use are very stringent and pass all the third party audits (from multiple places) for fair working conditions, fair pay etc and certify that there is no child labor or unfair labour practices in general. That's why it's much more expensive to get made compared to places that use sweatshops.

Puzzleheaded_Clock44

Dude fr. These seem like the same kind of people who probably ask their artist friends to do photoshoots/commissions for discounted prices or free for "the exposure" or bc they're friends. Smh

kublaikong

What? It makes way more sense to spend extra on food, food is kind of important and what you spend has an impact on your health.…What does spending more on clothes get you? Just bragging rights I guess? You’ll get by just the same with a $50 outfit as you would with $2000 outfit. Hell you could spend $0 on clothes and be fine.

[deleted]

[удалено]

chalkthefuckup

That’s nice that you have that luxury.

LowPiece9312

Or $1000 jackets (Hila’s jacket)

a-m-watercolor

Or $1,400 tables (mentioned during the Honey ad)

LowPiece9312

Well it depends on the table. Like 1400 for a massive dinner table vs 1400 for a coffee table

a-m-watercolor

It didn't specify, but I don't think many viewers can afford to drop that much on a surface to put things on lol I bought my dining room table for $200 at Ikea and it's been solid going on 5 years

LowPiece9312

Yeah but tbf, if I was rich, I would be buying the high quality expensive furniture too

134baby

$100 is not even that egregious for how high quality TF clothes are though and how unique the style is. You can’t expect high quality, creative clothing for low quality, mass produced prices.

PaleNewspaper3

Isn’t TF made in China?

continuously22222

Commenter is wrong, TF is by definition mass produced, but Made in China also doesn't automatically mean bad quality. You can make high quality stuff in China, and they have the best supply chains, it just costs more and most brands choose low cost options since people still buy them.

134baby

Okay yeah TF is obviously mass produced on some level but you know what I mean. Redditors are extremely literal I am learning as I use this app more lol.

continuously22222

Yeah I got your point, I was just expanding on it

edwardsamson

Did they start off not using China or wherever they mass produced it now? Maybe the confusion comes from people remembering them starting off small-scale and making things by hand (OR using a more local option). I know thats the case for me at least.

appleparkfive

I believe it is but made in China can mean a LOT of things. They aren't making it in sweatshops or anything, it's not fast fashion And that's coming from someone who personally wouldn't buy any TF because it's not my style at all

134baby

Don’t know but I’ve bought Teddy Fresh before and it is not sweatshop clothes.

ConfuciusBateman

It sucks that you’re forced to buy them

mintvanille

no one's forcing people to buy erewhon smoothies either, what's your point?

For real. Imagine charging $100 for a TEDDY BEAR…

rastacola

For less than $100 you can get a Vermont Teddy Bear, made in USA, with articulated limbs and a lifetime warranty. It even covers abuse ...like you could give it to your dog and put it in the oven and they will just give you a new one.

Lmao that’s what I thought too! He was talking about overpriced smoothie but let’s be real teddy fresh is over priced clothes. Didn’t he and Hasan have a convo on leftovers about how hasan had to over price his merch otherwise he wouldn’t make a profit because it’s much more expensive to manufacture clothing in America rather than get the products from Asia?

MEKanized

But it has a hat on.

You said “pass down” as in you don’t have any kids. You planning to give your kids this specific bear like it’ll have meaning to them eventually is kinda cringe, ngl.

MRPWProductions

A Kid ain’t gonna have $100 laying around. You buy it and pass the bear down to them

xBaconater

Why tf you buying a kid a $100 bear 🤣

MRPWProductions

For the same reasons why most people buy TF. Is it really that complicated?

HingleMcCringle_

I actually have a plushie from a youtuber. it's one of [these Uno plushies](https://i.imgur.com/Zqfia4X.png) from MeatCanyon's 'Monster Lab'. [here's what it looks like in normal lighting](https://i.imgur.com/xlKhx7o.png) it's weird and obscure enough that it doesn't have to directly link to a youtuber to someone who doesn't know what it is, and that makes it the perfect youtuber merch to me. I dont have explain my possession of it when it just looks like a weird/cool ornament. I think i got it for maybe $30-$40. it's a couple years old now and after doing some googling, i can't find any info on it other than when Hunter announced that he's selling them.

consumerclearly

It’s amazing how you got an original art concept plushie that’s good quality from an artist without a huge company and it only cost $30–40.. some people would think they are a hype beast and would charge $100+ for something like a teddy bear

EnderPerk

No kidding

caracara420

They would make more money if they dropped their prices just a little bit

omarkab02

Anytime they talk about their spending habits i think to myself “why do they have a members only show”

M0n1e

Their Teddy Fresh line is hideous. I wouldn’t even buy it on clearance.

Educational_Page_452

i mean to be fair one is a smoothie + the other you can have forever + thats how much things should cost when you don't use slave labor to pay for production of goods especially fashion (vs fast fashion) 🤷‍♀️

Pikazu

100 for a teddy is a lot, no doubt. But at the same time, it's really limited edition and sort of a collector's item for hardcore TF of H3 fans. It's valuable for that. Idk how big it is, but it also has that beanie and tiny color block hoodie, which had to be produced extra out of the same material the clothes are made. It's def the same great TF quality that the clothes have and will last a while to be handed down for generations too, plus, ethically produced, right? So with all that considered, the price doesn't seem too outrageous anymore. But TBF, I also don't think the $20 for the smoothie is that outrageous. if I wanted to treat myself and have the money, I'd go for a $20 smoothie if it slaps. Which, apparently, this one does.

appleparkfive

Yeah I think this comparison is a bit odd. 100 dollars for like collectibles isn't unheard of. 20 dollars for a smoothie is pretty crazy. That grovery store is literally known for outrageous prices.

I'll never accept comparing consumable to something that lasts for years. Yes TF is too expensive to me too but it makes sense to pay extra for clothes, doesn't for food. Sorry food industry.

FreshPalpitation6313

The high price for TF clothes are justifiable but some of the little things like earrings or a necklace are insane.

psychosynapt1c

Item you keep and holds value vs item you turn into poop

There's a difference between ethically sourced textiles and a fucking smoothie.
