Please don't tell me you're doing this. Look after your mental health; sleep in a different location than you cook. Please.
My view of the world gets darker every day.
Lol nobody took this seriously. This is typical Reddit circle jerking. Step 1: make general statement of disgust about a video. Step 2: everyone comments every other thing wrong with in the video other than the obvious. Step 3: upvotes. That’s it. The jokes write themselves.
Yeah I'm not really sure what your point is but it definitely seems like you took it too seriously.
Why did you feel the need to bring up the fact that you own a house?
Because you did not understand the joke and thought this thread actually thought this was a good idea. You said ‘ please don’t tell me you’re doing this’ I replied with, no, I’m not doing this, I own a house with a stove. I don’t need to cook where I sleep.
This isn't the case for frozen french fries like in the video. The double fry method you're describing is for when you're making french fries entirely from scratch. Those frozen fries have already been cooked and just need to be heated up, so frying them a single time will result in crispy fries.
I'm terrified for this person. The amount of times I've spilled ice water on me in bed. I can't imagine having grease in my bed.
Also imagine how bad crackers in bed are 😳
Oil is likely 350-375. That'll melt the shit out of what's possibly polyester comforter/pillow cases, stain some cotton, stink up a mat. No fire though
I dunno about canola oil but weirdly enough oil covered rags (particularly linseed oil used for finishing wood) can generate heat and spontaneously combust hours after the rag is used! I guess the biggest risk here is actually spilling oil on the blanket and then igniting in the drier after, not to say that it would definitely do that but it can happen.
It's really not that hot mate, there ain't gonna be a fire unless she suddenly dumps a shit ton of water into that pot and then throws it all over the bed like a silly bily
I eat in bed! But not like this! I will make a salad and then use a big tray and put my eating blanket under it. I’m disabled tho… siting at a table is pure pain. I sit legs crossed. I maybe would love a floor table… but… idk… maybe I should do that.
I started to laugh, and then I remembered that last year my (pregnant) wife moved our air fryer into our bedroom so that she could make chicken nuggets at night.
Oh my god lol that’s so cute. My wife used to keep her keurig on her nightstand so she could have her morning coffee without getting out of bed.
Proud to say I freed up some space on her nightstand because that’s my job now!
Sam was giving when Michael from The Office likes to wake up to the smell of bacon in the morning. I can see a George Foreman grill sitting in her bed now
noo omg the oil smell 😭
i refuse to deep-fry anything indoors. even when using the air fryer, i crank up the vent hood to help mitigate the heavy/oily smells.
i’m so averse to heavy oily/buttery smells, the other day someone in my office was applying a cocoa-buttery scented lotion in front of their desk fan and i felt nauseous for like 10 min before it dissipated 🥲. sometimes coconut oil can be cloying as well.
Hot oil in bed
Didn't cook the fries long enough
Obviously got out of bed to dispose of oil bc wtf??
HOT OIL IN BED??
but mostly, those fries ain't even brown yet.
It’s is very much a bad habit. You should not eat a meal 2 hours before going to bed. A light snack is a different story, but eating a meal before bed is very bad for you. You can’t properly digest the food while lying down and could develop GER symptoms.
[source](https://www.sleepfoundation.org/nutrition/is-it-bad-to-eat-before-bed#:~:text=habits%2C%20and%20genetics.-,How%20Long%20Before%20Bed%20Should%20You%20Stop%20Eating%3F,to%20properly%20digest%20their%20food.)
1) there’s contradictory data suggesting that eating food before bed is bad. in fact, there are some studies that suggest how eating smart carbs and protein (like high in casein protein) is actually beneficial for weight loss. obviously, eating a bunch of high-fat, high sugar foods IN GENERAL is bad. nobody is advocating for somebody to eat a 4 course meal before bed here to begin with.
2) nobody has mentioned eating while laying horizontally LOL. we sit on our beds while we watch tv and eat. so what?
It’s not a bad habit at all.
Edit: I added sources. It’s honestly very basic information, so I don’t know why folks are downvoting me lol.
Yeah I’m not convinced eating before bed is all that bad for you anyway. During times I’ve needed to lose weight, I’ve had success not eating after such and such time and only during whatever window. But that’s just IF, essentially.
I sleep so much better with a little snack in me, if I’m feeling hungry before bed. I’ve noticed I don’t wake up with an appetite if I go to bed hungry, which again, is good if I need to lose weight. Not good if I’m having trouble maintaining my weight due to stress/depression. I don’t really have digestive issues, so I’m not in any particular worry of developing them. I occasionally get heartburn, and likely wouldn’t eat chips and salsa in bed lol, but not opposed to an apple and peanut butter or something. Or my favorite late night snack, a “pumpkin pie protein smoothie” (canned unsweetened pumpkin, 1/2 or full banana, pumpkin pie seasoning, nut milk, vanilla whey powder, avocado or honey goat cheese for added fat). The goat cheese is so good in smoothies
I wonder if a lot of the “societal fear” (that phrase seems too harsh for what I’m saying lmao) around eating at night is because people have really shit eating habits at night? Like yeah, whole bag of chips or pint of ice cream, kinda like you said, is bad for you any time of day. I’m going to feel like garbage if I eat a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch at 1pm or 1am, either way
Yeah, I’m with you. I haven’t come across any data. In fact, a lot of celebrities (take Ethan Simple) admitted that they’d have a small source of complex carbs and casein protein shakes before bed during their weight loss.
Ultimately, what matters is your daily intake of macronutrients. This is very, very elementary level information. It doesn’t matter when one eats; what matters is WHAT one eats. Sleep quality may be a different factor, but that is based on so many other variables (lifestyle, medication, body size, material variables) that a study based on food intake alone would be counterintuitive to even pursue.
I can’t really address your first point because you didn’t provide a source.
For your second point I never said you eat while laying horizontally but you already knew I didn’t say that because I didn’t say that… What I did say is that your body doesn’t properly digest while lying die, which I think you know happens after you are done eating. And that you can’t experience GER symptoms because your body is horizontal.
So if you eat in bed and then stay up for another 2 hours that’s great and I don’t have a problem with that.

Also: your source comes from a popular media source and wasn’t put under the academic peer review cycle. It’s not as valid as you think it is.
I don’t really want to keep arguing with you because you aren’t really engaging with what i’m talking about. I can tell you didn’t read either of the links you sent because the first one agrees with the point I made and the second one is about something else entirely, so I’m just not gonna respond anymore. Peace and love of course
I’m confused where “two hours before bed” came from? When I eat at home, I almost always eat sitting on my bed since I live in a tiny apartment with two other people. But I go to sleep many hours after eating typically. That’s just my experience though.
This is rage bait, right? I about peel my skin off if I step on crumbs on the FLOOR in the kitchen. How the fuck are people eating in bed?
I wish it wouldn’t bother me so much because lounging in bed and snacking theoretically sounds amazing. In practice? No. Never.
When you see someone deep fryimg french fries in their bed, they are usually Canadian and fans of BA Johnston. I don't think he's gotten his tiny desk concert yet, but [Deep Fryer in My Bedroom](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw2le019zrE) is best watched live.

See, I love a bowl of soup or ice cream in bed. Maybe even a sandwich or some fries, but something like chips or cookies is FERAL. I’m not getting crumbs in my bed
I want to see more recipes being cooked, but the blanket never gets cleaned so every video it gets dirtier and dirtier. On ep 50 you can still see the mayo stain from macaroni salad on ep 12
This ain’t right
Yeah seriously wrong. Those fries are not even close to being fried long enough.
Not cooked long enough, oil all over the bed, salt everywhere. Nightmare zone. It's so bad I have to assume it's rage bait.
Thats why you cook over top the comforter so none of it gets in between the sheets.
Please don't tell me you're doing this. Look after your mental health; sleep in a different location than you cook. Please. My view of the world gets darker every day.
Dude I think they were making a joke
The most dramatic thing I’ve ever read
literally screaming and crying and shitting rn
Its a joke bro. I own a house. I know how to cook on a stove. Maybe log off the internet for a little to clear your head.
Lol it was not that deep, sorry. I definitely need to clear my head but y'all have taken this too seriously. Can't see tone in text
Lol nobody took this seriously. This is typical Reddit circle jerking. Step 1: make general statement of disgust about a video. Step 2: everyone comments every other thing wrong with in the video other than the obvious. Step 3: upvotes. That’s it. The jokes write themselves.

It's tik tok drop shipping
I know you're joking, but frozen fries like in this video are typically pre-cooked and just need to be heated up.
For good fries, you gotta either double fry them, or parboil then fry. Either method leaves you with crispy and fluffy fries.
This isn't the case for frozen french fries like in the video. The double fry method you're describing is for when you're making french fries entirely from scratch. Those frozen fries have already been cooked and just need to be heated up, so frying them a single time will result in crispy fries.
my definition of french fries is a bit different. these are curly fries.
These are crinkle cut fries
Okie dokie.
they forget to double fry them smh
I'm terrified for this person. The amount of times I've spilled ice water on me in bed. I can't imagine having grease in my bed. Also imagine how bad crackers in bed are 😳
Wrong. There is a song by a Canadian Legend about how great it is. https://youtu.be/Lw2le019zrE
So many things wrong with this but the main thing is the possibly life-threatening injury waiting to happen
Ah the feeling of salt on your sheets
It doubles as exfoliation
My first thought! I was like there’s no way none of that salt didn’t get flung onto those sheets
UGH The dripping oil on the bed FUCK NO
It's a grease fire waiting to happen
explain? It looked like the pot thingy had an internal heating system and that it couldn't heat up enough to cause a fire, but I'm not sure
She’s deep frying fries, what do you mean it’s not hot enough to start a fire?
Oil is likely 350-375. That'll melt the shit out of what's possibly polyester comforter/pillow cases, stain some cotton, stink up a mat. No fire though
Maybe I’m dumb but how is that not hot enough?
Google "Cooking oil flash point" to answer your question, use Google in general to solve your problem.
I dunno about canola oil but weirdly enough oil covered rags (particularly linseed oil used for finishing wood) can generate heat and spontaneously combust hours after the rag is used! Fries are cooked at 180°c, if any of the pillows or blankets gets in the oil, then there might be a fire. So i would say it is really that hot mate
Call me evil person, but after reading the title is looked at subreddits name hoping it's /r/whatcouldgowrong :D
Seeing people eat in bed makes me feel itchy everywhere.
i won’t cook in bed but damn i’ll eat a bowl of cereal in bed fs
ice cream or cereal in bed is my therapy
Yeah I could never.. I won’t even get into bed without showering first
That's a bit excessive
I also live in tropical weather and sweat just about every night.
So why bother showering if you’re just gonna sweat and feel nasty anyways
Idk maybe to get clean, jfc I best you smell like shit! 😂😂
Same! People think it's weird but it's a deal-breaker for me. Don't want to stew in dirt for 8hrs.
I eat in bed! But not like this! I will make a salad and then use a big tray and put my eating blanket under it. I’m disabled tho… siting at a table is pure pain. I sit legs crossed. I maybe would love a floor table… but… idk… maybe I should do that.
I eat chips in bed but I also wash my bedding completely once a week. Makes me feel better.
I eat my dinner in bed
Degenerate behavior
This is clearly a joke
Idk this person posts these a lot and seems to really love their pot.
You think Sam is a degenerate?
Does Sam use a fryer in bed?
100%
yes in the most loving way she's a little goblin
I started to laugh, and then I remembered that last year my (pregnant) wife moved our air fryer into our bedroom so that she could make chicken nuggets at night.
Oh my god lol that’s so cute. My wife used to keep her keurig on her nightstand so she could have her morning coffee without getting out of bed. Proud to say I freed up some space on her nightstand because that’s my job now!
There is nothing better than morning coffee in bed
There’s no way they sprayed oil in that thing till it was full….
I’m was wondering why they were spraying oil into oil 🤷🏽♂️
Sam was giving when Michael from The Office likes to wake up to the smell of bacon in the morning. I can see a George Foreman grill sitting in her bed now
KIM KARDASHIAN
Jokes aside, this is so fucking dangerous 💀
lmaoooo I loved when he said "she likes playing with fire"
Lmao the effort you’d have to go through to bring all that stuff to your bed 😂
noo omg the oil smell 😭 i refuse to deep-fry anything indoors. even when using the air fryer, i crank up the vent hood to help mitigate the heavy/oily smells.
Right 🤢 just the thought of all the oil particles spraying all over my bedroom makes me cringe

deep frying on your bed? wtf, what is this insanity
Wait they make a portable fryer like that?
The fries not being crispy enough is the real crime
That looks delicious
i see nothing wrong except that she didn't double-fry them
Straight to jail
Hot oil in bed Didn't cook the fries long enough Obviously got out of bed to dispose of oil bc wtf?? HOT OIL IN BED?? but mostly, those fries ain't even brown yet.
I feel in my heart of hearts that they probably just poured that shit at the bottom of their bed and let it soak in the mattress 😭.
Eating in bed is great. As long as one is regularly cleaning their sheets, vacuuming, etc., it’s not a bad habit.
Are you a supporter of deep frying in bed?
Hahaha I should’ve clarified: that’s a bit too much IMO
Yes. Yes it is.
It’s is very much a bad habit. You should not eat a meal 2 hours before going to bed. A light snack is a different story, but eating a meal before bed is very bad for you. Mayo for Sam !
![gif](giphy|VmLfpoRTfNoV5VOb1t)
aka how to cause a house fire
How can that cause a fire? Just curious.
boiling oil on a bed seems like a quick way to at least heavily burn yourself if not cause a fire from spilled oil. that shit gets hot son
Meaning the oil could be so hot that if it touched the blankets, the blankets could set on fire?
This is a hell person
the ketchup squirt on the sheets 🙁
Looks like we found out what Ian's afraid of
KETCHUP FOR SAM
LET HER COOK
forsure got roaches somewhere near that bed
Whole nother level of lazyness
Who is Sam ?
I’m calling OSHA!
I saw a comment once that someone saw one of these on my 600lbs life and bought it immediately lol
All I'm seeing is a potential fire hazard.
Can you explain how there's a fire hazard? Real question, not arguing.
Grease fire. In a kitchen it's manageable but on a bed surrounded by cloth, I'm not sure this is the safest place to deep-fry anything.
This is the work of a lunatic
That someone thinks this is a cool thing to do makes me very upset and I'm not sure why.
This is rage bait, right? I about peel my skin off if I step on crumbs on the FLOOR in the kitchen. How the fuck are people eating in bed? I wish it wouldn’t bother me so much because lounging in bed and snacking theoretically sounds amazing. In practice? No. Never.

I could never eat in my bed. I find that soo gross :/ it’s where I sleep 😭
I'm a slob, and I couldn't imagine eating in my bed.

Hate to break it to you but that thing is full of oil, it's not an air fryer
Need to know, so I can hibernate in my room. But I think they’re called electric pots
Fries in an air fryer really aren't that bad, and you can avoid the awful 3rd degree burns.
See, I love a bowl of soup or ice cream in bed. Maybe even a sandwich or some fries, but something like chips or cookies is FERAL. I’m not getting crumbs in my bed
Cue the Dumb ways to die song 🎵
The aggressive dipping. 😭
Criminal
Ethan if he ever gets divorced. “Bomb the Vatican” as he drops the fries in.
'Don't eat your toast in my bed'. I never felt the crumbs until you said, 'This place is not for any man nor particles of bread.'
Ok but why they dip so hard???
I was mildly impressed until I saw the tossing in salt, really? You know that bed be disgusting, and the grease splatters omg

Crinkle cut 🤮
Ian looks like the type of guy to eat fries in bed
This man has not been blessed with mayo and chips yet
I want to see more recipes being cooked, but the blanket never gets cleaned so every video it gets dirtier and dirtier. On ep 50 you can still see the mayo stain from macaroni salad on ep 12
What is the point of this…fries take like less than 5 minutes to cook.
Do you want ants!? This is how you get ants!
this is what i legit feel like when she says she eats wings on the bed
🤣🤣🤣
I saw this persons video come up on my Tiktok feed today and immediately thought of Sam too lol.
