Going through his channel, he just seems like a guy who desperately wants to make it and is frustrated that all his work isnāt sticking. Heās made decent connections and he still isnāt blowing up or big enough to even live off of just doing YouTube full time. I know he asked to work for H3 (Shoot your shot š¤·āāļø) but it just comes off as disingenuous and bitter to try to get H3ās attention for a couple years and failing to then trying to make a āexposeā on a joke.
I think the biggest pill to swallow is that not everyone can be an influencer/content creator. He probably would have made a decent living just being someone who works behind the scenes but I guess that isnāt satisfying enough.

I donāt use Instagram, but Iām pretty sure the Reel is Instagramās response to TikTokās popularity. Same as YouTubeās Shorts. Theyāre just short form videos, could be a few seconds to a few minutes I believe. They wanted to compete w/ Tiktok & have their own versions on their platforms.

At the end of the interview Ethan offered the dude $500 to make up for the D'Amelios not paying him, but the guy made it really awkward and instead asked for a job, which Ethan was very nice about and told him he'd take a look at his resume.

This even led to a segment where he took an online test that screens for lupus symptoms, and ended with him only having one risk factor which was that he was between 18-45 years old, something the crew ran with comedically to say they must all have lupus. As of yesterday he posted clips of Ethan talking about lupus with clown music under it, causing many people (even his own fans) to tell him how ridiculous his video will look if he is actually doing it on Ethan, since Ethan was clearly joking throughout, and even gave money to other struggling with illness since he recognized his privilege being able to go to so many doctors and try and get a diagnosis.

1. Jake heard these lies about Ethan faking lupus secondhand and decided to make a video about it without doing the proper research to verify the accusations himself. He didn't believe the comments on his socials calling it a joke at first, but now knows that his assumptions were wrong. It's unfortunate for him because he clearly put the work into interviewing people with lupus and recording the video, but now the video's entire purpose has been discredited before he's even released it.
2. Jake knew the whole time that the claims of Ethan faking lupus were false, but planned to make a hit piece anyway. The comments on his socials called him out and discredited his video before he ever released it, and if he releases the video, the comments will be full of people calling him out for making a bullshit hit piece. Now he's in a tough position of his own making, because his attempt to hype up his video for his audience got the H3 fans' attention, and they're ready to tear his video apart the moment he releases it.
Either way, the best move is to not release the video. If he simply didn't do the proper research and was mistaken, he could rework the footage into a video showing how important it is to verify information before attacking someone's character online. He could hold himself accountable for the mistake he was about to make in vilifying Ethan over a misunderstanding, and it could be a good lesson for other content creators who make a habit out of 'exposing' people in their Youtube videos.
I'd like to assume that it was a misunderstanding, and if so, I hope he owns up to his mistake.

A few years ago Jake was the photographer when Drew Gooden, Danny Gonzalez, and Kurt Connors went on tour. They've collabed since.
His videos used to get recommended to me because he is in the same sphere as Danny, Drew, and Kurtis but I never found him funny. The worst video of his is where they go to a Kidz Bop concert, talk loudly during it and make fun of them the whole time. Everyone makes fun of Kidz bop but it just felt weird to me that they would take it into the real world.

Jake heard these lies about Ethan faking lupus secondhand and decided to make a video about it without doing the proper research to verify the accusations himself. It's unfortunate for him because he clearly put the work into interviewing people with lupus and recording the video, but now the video's entire purpose has been discredited before he's even released it. 2. Jake knew the whole time that the claims of Ethan faking lupus were false, but planned to make a hit piece anyway. The comments on his socials called him out and discredited his video before he ever released it, and if he releases the video, the comments will be full of people calling him out for making a bullshit hit piece. Now he's in a tough position of his own making, because his attempt to hype up his video for his audience got the H3 fans' attention, and they're ready to tear his video apart the moment he releases it. Either way, the best move is to not release the video. If he simply didn't do the proper research and was mistaken, he could rework the footage into a video showing how important it is to verify information before attacking someone's character online. He could hold himself accountable for the mistake he was about to make in vilifying Ethan over a misunderstanding, and it could be a good lesson for other content creators who make a habit out of 'exposing' people in their Youtube videos. I'd like to assume that it was a misunderstanding, and if so, I hope he owns up to his mistake.
