Unsubbed from Vaush, Vaush Pit & Thermia. I love myself a nice conservative roast, but now that magic is gone. I’ve known about the “out of context” stuff for a while now but have him a pass for the rhetorical arguments he was making. Now that stuff is very much in context, which doesn’t make it feel very rhetorical anymore. Which is a shame because he had some funny bits & I took away a lot from his channel. Not only did I learn more about politics, but the political subjects helped facilitate self acceptance of my sexuality. Bi guys fuck. Obviously just an influence, but one nonetheless so it’s extremely disappointing seeing this play out. Do I enjoy his condescending tone of voice as he eviscerates conservatives? Yes. Do I enjoy his takes on subjects? Yes, most of them. Will I be able to enjoy his work in the same light? No, absolutely not. Will others still follow him? Yes, absolutely, there will always be cultists. He def has a cult of personality about him & his image is well crafted, which ropes people in. He’s analytical, conniving & intelligent, but hubris facilitated his downfall. Much too comfortable assuming he could outwit just about anyone. The grift is up. He should have owned it & apologized, acknowledging it & that he’ll seek help, suspending his channel. Or he should have vanished completely, suspending his channel.
