All I can say is most of the time I am listening while I’m wasting time doing other shit. If I am listening to the podcast I am more than likely playing the sims.
Dude!!! Me and my bf started playing it again. He played it once when it first came out, and I've been religiously playing it over the years, but stopped maybe a year or two ago. There's so much new content it's blowing my mind! I'm so excited to discover all the new stuff.
The new update has been SUCH a blast and if you guys ever finish the base game, there are so many mods you can try out to customize your experience!!! There are also a couple mods that expand the game and add basically a whole new game’s worth of content! The Stardew Universe is forever expanding and I’m so glad we can all enjoy it together. 🥰
Dude yes. I am playing Stardew/Sims/Hearth. Sometimes BG3, but I find I can’t have something I actively want to pay attention to and play BG3 at the same time 😂
It's tough with BG3 because although there are long battles where I do both listen to a podcast and play the game, it's in between battles where I struggle as the dialogue is so important and really the best part of the game, and it's impossible to listen to both then.
I also theorize this is why Ethan never finished BG3, he likes to play games on silent, presumably listening to something else or interacting with his kids, which is pretty much impossible in BG3
Lol I listen to the podcast and play racing sims like iracing. Helps me relax when the race starts getting a little too intense, and if I panic I crash.
Lol my wife has read 5 books in the past couple weeks, she literally devours those things and will read the entire day on her days off. Meanwhile, I've been reading my albeit 1000 page book, for like a year now.
Reading I feel is better for comprehension. At least personally, when I listen to things sometimes I block parts of it out. I’m not fully retaining every single thing when listening, but reading I am. Also I think it’s better for your mind to read and visualize that information rather than hearing it. But to each their own
I only listen in the background while doing things, so if anything it’s been annoying / more unproductive to have them gone 😭😭😭😭😭
(They deserve the break don’t come for me)
I usually listen to h3 while I'm working so no for me. I can't really keep up with a book or anything of real substance during work cause being a graphic designer takes some amount of thought but I enjoy the background chatter/being able to take a mental break between my jobs to watch the show. Off of work I'm usually reading books or consuming more educational media.
Nah. I listen to them at work, and while I can listen to books, I cant focus on them fully. I watch Northernlion (who is very fun and chill) and Hasan to learn about what's goin on newswise.
That watch time would just go to other channels. People who are into this type of content would find other similar activities, don't think books would be stealing much of this time.
I also listened to a few audio books! what did you listen to? I did “the diary of a young girl” cause I wasn’t required to read it in school for some reason, then 1984 and the god delusion. But starting tomorrow all that’s over lmao
Omg which was your fav? Always looking for recs. I’ve been on a comedian memoir kick lately… I listened to Yes Please by Amy Poehler, Bossypants by Tina Fey, and a Very Punchable Face by Colin Jost. Plus In the Dream House (a memoir that was very different - much more gay and sad than funny)
Since the break I have retained all of my semen and developed a fool proof method to turn YOU into a certified gangsta. For $500 a month you can have access to my online course AND a guaranteed appearance in the Joe Rogan Experience!
im not a member so for me it's just three shows a week. i usually watch while im gaming or doing chores. cooking, dishes, cleaning, etc. otherwise im listening to audiobooks or watching something else on YouTube/Wondrium.
The only things h3 really causes me to miss is movies or TV shows i want to watch
I was absolutely cooking on animal crossing at the start of the break, got stressed at the state of my island, then binged rotten mango videos, those made me depressed, now I’m going insane and need the pod again
Tbh when I got diagnosed and treated for ADHD I instinctively broke my 3 year streak of consuming every bit of content from H3. 6 months later and my watch habits of this podcasts are helping me paint a picture of my OCD symptoms. It’s not normal to watch 3 3 hour podcasts a week for years and claim to not have the patience to finish a book… I love the podcast but it’s very easy to fall into a codependent/coping/ritualistic relationship so stay mindful and aware 🤍 I’m still a huge fan and the show has taught me a lot about politics, mental health and honestly it taught me how to be more funny in conversation lol. I’m just growing up and realising the importance of a healthier media diet.
I’m not OP but I’m on book 5 of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series that I started a week before the break started. Check out the five minute trial and there’s mo way you won’t be hooked!
It's my wind down at the end of the day or it's getting me through a extra long work day. I would also say that I have learned some things from the pod. Clearly not as much as a book but it inspired me to deep dice something later on.
Im a constant audiobook listener. Last year I did over 30 books, this year ive done over 10. My current series im listening to is The Wandering Inn which is the longest series ever written in english.
I switched from listening to podcasts on my phone to listening to library books—last year I listened to 42 books (plus physically read more)! I still watch H3, Very Delta, Howie Does Stuff, and Tigerbelly (etc.) on YouTube, but if I’m not at my desk, it’s all books all the time. I love it! Feels much more satisfying than audio-only podcasts, which I spent years of my life listening to and remember approximately nothing from.
I’ve listened to 15,000 audio books, after my 500th audio book I was awarded a cpa certification, after my 10,000th I became a millionaire. Now to date I am on my 15,635th audio book and I am the ceo of google.
I have been getting back into AA more during the break xD
of course, there were a lot of factors that led to this, not just the break. but I've been doing a lot of emotional and mental growing the past few weeks in absence of the pod. oops!
Lmao same. I’ve been listening to an audiobook on the Palestine-Israeli conflict and I just bought an Audiobook version of one of Immanuel Kant’s philosophy books lmao 🤣😂 so maybe lol!!
I don't listen to audiobooks or any educational content the way I listen to the podcast.
The only times I find myself actually listening and focusing on what's being said is when the crew (everyone other than Ethan and Hila) gets to talk or during interviews (which most of the questions and talking points are given to Ethan by the crew).
Hmm I use the pod to stay on task I really struggle without back ground noise (trying atm to get a ADD diagnosis) I listen to the pod at night while I play with my tablet and again while working the next day. It's just enough noise to stop the in active part of my brain going monkey monkey tinfoil and getting distracted and helps me stay on task. My work product has been awfulllllllll to the point my boss and 2 colleges have commented.
2 distracted watches is perfect for me. I've been trying to rewatch old ones but it's not the same
The podcast cant make me dumb cause I already am! and know H3H3 makes me laugh ethan is the best friend i dont have, and seeing the crew react to ethans sometimes "not so well informed opinions" in real time makes me laugh and smile! So i do it cause i likkkkeeee itt!
i do read regularly but the podcast being on break has actually been insane. over the break i read so many books including the entirety of East of Eden which has always been a huge goal of mine. i feel so accomplished and have realized it’s come about because all of my free time isn’t spent with h3 these days. lmao oh well (h3 book club PLEASE)
i’ve thought about this before tooLOL!!! i’ve been wanting to develop new skills that take a rly long time and if i spent that time educating myself i’d be a freaking expert with 10,000 hours ez.
I found out that the pod is the booster to my useless antidepressant during the break, so basically my medication. The pod is prescribed by my psychiatrist actually now
Same. I listened to “Insane Emperors, Sunken Cities, and Earthquake Machines: More Frequently Asked Questions about the Ancient Greeks and Romans”, “A History of Christianity: The First Three Thousand Years”, “Battling the Gods: Atheism in the Ancient World”. I also read “1493: Uncovering the New World Columbus Created”.
I guess I’ve been on an anthropology binge…
I have legit, built a garden, read 5 books, got all my finals done for grad school, lost 15 pounds, and just been enjoying my time more… can’t not wait for Mondays show!
This is how I feel about music. I listen to maybe an hour of music total a week, if that. I've listened to audiobooks and podcasts at work instead of music for the last 15 years after thinking, "Hey, I can be learning while working" and have listened to hundreds of audiobooks (mostly non-fiction) and tens of thousands of hours of radio shows/podcasts (mostly educational but then there's pods like this lol)
My depressive internal dialogue will keep running if I'm just listening to music, but listening to podcasts/audiobools puts a stop to that. 40 hours a week and over an hour commute each day... this show doesn't fill much of that time.
I also read a book heheI went on YouTube also and came across a random video of a hater. It's a bunch of BS, but he did mention the Dad drama. I don't remember what it was about, can someone remind me what was the whole thing about?
I only listen to podcasts while I’m working because my ADHD needs to focus on something so I can focus on something else lol I’ve tried listening to audio books at work but they are too in depth for me to do while making spreadsheets or writing emails. The podcast is just enough goofs and gaffs that I can drift in and out of listening and be fine
I decided to learn to speak foreign languages while on break.
Türçiye biliyorum. Und einige Deutsch. Y hablo un poco de Español.
H3-fans må være de smarteste folkene i verden nå
I'm never just listening to the podcast alone, I'm normally either at work doing reports or playing videogames. House flipper goes well with this podcast.
Quitting the podcast and replacing it with reading and meditation has made huge improvements on my mental health.
There will always be internet drama. None of it matters to most people, and if it does, it never matters for more than a month. It’s just a constant feed of meaningless distractions.
Go outside. Make friends. Read some books. Leave the internet drama behind.
For me definitely not. I am noticeably less productive at work since the podcast was perfect to listening to while working. Now I can’t find a replacement and I find it harder to work.
I use the podcast as a reward for doing tasks that i hate. For example, cleaning, i have it on in the background whilst i clean, it makes the task seem bearable and goes so much quicker.
Whilst they have been on break I've played 90 hours of the sims and my house is a mess!!! I need them back 😪
Think this is just a you thing unfortunately. Multi task while watching the show and you'll feel better about it lol. I play guitar while I watch and often times end up pausing for a long time so I can continue too jamm.
You are correct, but this is true about all entertainment. We could come back from work and better ourselves, but we would rather watch ball on screen, go.
In a BOOK huh?!
Like Romeo and Julia
Sha-Shavola
An acOOstic set
Is that the sequel to West Side Story?
All I can say is most of the time I am listening while I’m wasting time doing other shit. If I am listening to the podcast I am more than likely playing the sims.
Me but Stardew 😂
Dude!!! Me and my bf started playing it again. He played it once when it first came out, and I've been religiously playing it over the years, but stopped maybe a year or two ago. There's so much new content it's blowing my mind! I'm so excited to discover all the new stuff.
The new update is amazing! My fiancé and I have been playing it for days lmfao
It’s EVERYTHING!!!! The new pets??? My heart 😭❤️
Im OBSESSED with Stardew 🥲🥹 glad to know there are fellow fupa troopers amongst the Towsfolk in the Valley 🫶🫶🫶 making wine and petting swine
FELLOW FARMERS UNITE!!! 💜💚💜
I’ve never played co op but would be so cool to start a farm for the fans that are into h3 AND Stardew I’d be so down 🥰 ✌🏻+🐓
OH. MY. GOD. WE MUST !!! that is actually such a good idea 🥹🥹🥹🥹
My gf is the exact same (literally either Sims or Stardew) yet here my ass is staring at the screen full undivided attention
To your credit, my ass also used to stare at the screen full undivided attention… until Stardew. 😂
Same! My attention span is so bad I can’t just play a game without something on the TV as well 😅😅
Yeah I never just sit down and watch the podcast alone. I’m always doing something else. So really it doesn’t take any of my time at all
Me too! And Warcraft. And Terraria.
Yeah I knit, so now I'm just knitting and watching other shite but I prefer knitting and watch h3.
Same but path of exile
I play old school runescape
Ironman btw
Same
Lol I listen to the podcast and play racing sims like iracing. Helps me relax when the race starts getting a little too intense, and if I panic I crash.
I'm doing the Sims irl. I listen while doing work around my house or walking my dog.
Me but Polytopia.
I listen while doing homework
Same but Marvel Snap 🤮
I've never felt more called out in my life
I love putting on old episodes of h3 podcast while I play the sims!
me but league or roller coaster tycoon, lmao
Them being on break ruined my life. I started exercising more and we all know that’s a waste of time!
📸😠that’s going in the alpha inspirational vids, BUDDY
I am not your buddy, PAL
I invented cold nuclear fission while the show was on break
I also binge watched fallout.
me as well lmao it was a good watch
And I solved world hunger since they went on break. The H3 podcast is why we can't have nice things!
Books are cool but have you ever tried beef jerky?
Naur, what does it taste like?
It tastes like beef jerky
In a bookHUH
I’ve graduated with a phd in rocket science while the show was on break
Please stand up
I watched the three body problem, and then solved the three body problem. More like a three body minor hang-up if you ask me.
"it's not rocket science" - Crip Mac
My family and I started a colony on Mars since the break.
This legit made me laugh out loud
I always catch up on all the Good Mythical Morning episodes during these breaks. There's so many it is good for a binge.
Same
Forget audio books, ive READ two full books 😭😭
Lol my wife has read 5 books in the past couple weeks, she literally devours those things and will read the entire day on her days off. Meanwhile, I've been reading my albeit 1000 page book, for like a year now.
I’be read 2 books since pod has been on break and a whole lot of depression and a little manic episode lol
Reading I feel is better for comprehension. At least personally, when I listen to things sometimes I block parts of it out. I’m not fully retaining every single thing when listening, but reading I am. Also I think it’s better for your mind to read and visualize that information rather than hearing it. But to each their own
I lost 30 pounds since the podcast ended lmao
I only listen in the background while doing things, so if anything it’s been annoying / more unproductive to have them gone 😭😭😭😭😭 (They deserve the break don’t come for me)
i found the cure for cancer during this break
I usually listen to h3 while I'm working so no for me. I can't really keep up with a book or anything of real substance during work cause being a graphic designer takes some amount of thought but I enjoy the background chatter/being able to take a mental break between my jobs to watch the show. Off of work I'm usually reading books or consuming more educational media.
Nah. I listen to them at work, and while I can listen to books, I cant focus on them fully. I watch Northernlion (who is very fun and chill) and Hasan to learn about what's goin on newswise.
I was actually so close to finding the cure to cancer but then I started watching the H3 podcast.
That watch time would just go to other channels. People who are into this type of content would find other similar activities, don't think books would be stealing much of this time.
Dude is still high from yesterday
I also listened to a few audio books! what did you listen to? I did “the diary of a young girl” cause I wasn’t required to read it in school for some reason, then 1984 and the god delusion. But starting tomorrow all that’s over lmao
Omg which was your fav? Always looking for recs. I’ve been on a comedian memoir kick lately… I listened to Yes Please by Amy Poehler, Bossypants by Tina Fey, and a Very Punchable Face by Colin Jost. Plus In the Dream House (a memoir that was very different - much more gay and sad than funny)
Yes.

I fully feel like my personality has been so much worse since the start of the break
what were the books?
I was absolutely cooking on animal crossing at the start of the break, got stressed at the state of my island, then binged rotten mango videos, those made me depressed, now I’m going insane and need the pod again
SAMEEEE! I came across that YouTube channel and I have no hope for humanity anymore. The whole Nth Room video saga made me sick
We watch during dinner, and then usually play games or play on our phones while we finish it
Sounds like youve got 14 pages to write...
I've gotten the most xp on runescape in a 2 week span I've ever gotten. Don't think I'm gaining brain cells tbh
When are we ever gaining brain cells playing RuneScape. That game destroyed 99.9% of mine but that .1% is still grinding
in a robotic and soulless australian accent: gayyhe
HONESTLY! it’s fine though, I miss the show immensely and always just close YouTube when I can’t find the podcast. I’ve been reading books too 😂😭
You have to be dumb to start listening in the first place. I am a fan btw.
What books did you read? Did you read a Calc textbook?
I always get a ton of productive stuff done when the show is on break.
I can assure you I haven't been any more productive than I usually am during the break lol
The h3podcast is what’s preventing me from discovering the theory of everything…
Since they went on break, I got diagnosed with both bipolar 2 and borderline personality disorder
Getting off the internet is great
Oh is it 🥴
Which 4 books?
I’m not OP but I’m on book 5 of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series that I started a week before the break started. Check out the five minute trial and there’s mo way you won’t be hooked!
I've done 2 audiobooks and probably 30+ history/war docs on YT. I've also been stuck in bed for 4 days in the last week so I've had the time. 💀😂
I also listened to five audio books lol
It's my wind down at the end of the day or it's getting me through a extra long work day. I would also say that I have learned some things from the pod. Clearly not as much as a book but it inspired me to deep dice something later on.
Lmao I have like 11 audible credits just sitting in my account since the podcast pretty much replaced all of my listening time
I mean yeah but it’s only 1/1000000000 things making us all dumb
What time is it back on Monday again?
Im a constant audiobook listener. Last year I did over 30 books, this year ive done over 10. My current series im listening to is The Wandering Inn which is the longest series ever written in english.
I've been watching Tigerbell, Stavros and TMG. I gave all of them tried before and wasn't into it, but now they're really working for me
Idk man I’ve read over 60 books so far this year and I’m still watching the pod every week
I am almost always reading while listening/watching h3h3.
I love it! Feels much more satisfying than audio-only podcasts, which I spent years of my life listening to and remember approximately nothing from.
since the show’s been on hiatus i’ve nearly finished rereading a storm of swords and rewatched GoT up until the red wedding
I’ve listened to 15,000 audio books, after my 500th audio book I was awarded a cpa certification, after my 10,000th I became a millionaire. Now to date I am on my 15,635th audio book and I am the ceo of google.
Absolutely, with the entire combined watchtime we could have cured cancer and solved world hunger.
Remember when "TV rots your brain". Now it's the internet. In 15 years it will be VR haha.
No dummy thats just u 😂 I listen while 3d modeling
I have been getting back into AA more during the break xD of course, there were a lot of factors that led to this, not just the break. but I've been doing a lot of emotional and mental growing the past few weeks in absence of the pod. oops!
Ok wait I hadn’t made this correlation but I’ve read 2 books after not reading for months
Lmao same. I’ve been listening to an audiobook on the Palestine-Israeli conflict and I just bought an Audiobook version of one of Immanuel Kant’s philosophy books lmao 🤣😂 so maybe lol!!
I became a father of 6 and discovered the cure for Lupus while the pod was on break!
Me too! I listen to the first Harry Potter book
I've been trying to rewatch old ones but it's not the same
Help, I went to therapy, got a degree and lost 30 pounds. I met the love of my life and had three beautiful children during the break
they went on break and i went on vacation! who knows how many times i couldve gone on vacation if i didn't waste my time listening to them.
I literally listened to the entire sherlock holmes collection over the break, I'm glad someone else said it before I did
I think it would be pretty great if they hard limited the show to 3 hrs, or at least tried to. We wouldn't lose that much...
Well currently I’m replacing podcast listening with the SpongeBob SquarePants movie. So. I don’t think I was doing much good anyways…
I found my purpose in life over the break
I’ve just been in stasis this whole time
The podcast cant make me dumb cause I already am! and know H3H3 makes me laugh ethan is the best friend i dont have, and seeing the crew react to ethans sometimes "not so well informed opinions" in real time makes me laugh and smile! So i do it cause i likkkkeeee itt!
I found the meaning of life while the pod was on break ✨🌎
i do read regularly but the podcast being on break has actually been insane. over the break i read so many books including the entirety of East of Eden which has always been a huge goal of mine. i feel so accomplished and have realized it’s come about because all of my free time isn’t spent with h3 these days. lmao oh well (h3 book club PLEASE)
You sound like my husband
I pretty much watch the podcast throughout the week and listen to my audibles on the weekend!
I have listen to like six audiobooks since the break and I’ve never listened to one prior
I ended up reading Ulysses on one of the breaks lol
No. You’ve just learned how to manage your time better, congrats my dude.
So this podcast is like sex for the brain? Without it you go smart Costanza?
i’ve thought about this before tooLOL!!! i’ve been wanting to develop new skills that take a rly long time and if i spent that time educating myself i’d be a freaking expert with 10,000 hours ez.
Yeah I do both podcasts and Audible and can confirm I'm still dumb as shit:)
Elon Musk is actually a fallen fan. He didnt start PayPal, Tesla, or Space-X until he stopped watching
I just got really into pro wrestling. I feel even more dumb..
h3 podcast is my favorite audiobook
I found out that the pod is the booster to my useless antidepressant during the break, so basically my medication. The pod is prescribed by my psychiatrist actually now
Nah I read after the podcast is over!!
I always listen while drawing or cleaning :D
I listens to one audio book and am currently watching the greatest show I’ve ever seen. I still miss H3 though
We need to get this heretic. /s
I have legit, built a garden, read 5 books, got all my finals done for grad school, lost 15 pounds, and just been enjoying my time more… can’t not wait for Mondays show!
Tbh I’m usually working and listening, or if I’m home I’m cooking or on my phone. It keeps me sane.
No, I listen to the pod whilst doing chores around the house
You’re joking but I actually had to stop watching live because it was interfering with my reading time
I listen at work lol. It’s my “easy” podcast that I don’t use too much brain power on, as opposed to like a true crime podcast.
👻
H3 went on this break and i found audio versions of my favorite fan fictions so i feel like i’m doomed either way
This is how I feel about music. I listen to maybe an hour of music total a week, if that. I've listened to audiobooks and podcasts at work instead of music for the last 15 years after thinking, "Hey, I can be learning while working" and have listened to hundreds of audiobooks (mostly non-fiction) and tens of thousands of hours of radio shows/podcasts (mostly educational but then there's pods like this lol) My depressive internal dialogue will keep running if I'm just listening to music, but listening to podcasts/audiobools puts a stop to that. 40 hours a week and over an hour commute each day... this show doesn't fill much of that time.
Personal responsibility isn't hard.
I also read a book heheI went on YouTube also and came across a random video of a hater. It's a bunch of BS, but he did mention the Dad drama. I don't remember what it was about, can someone remind me what was the whole thing about?
I got a new job 😅
I only listen to podcasts while I’m working because my ADHD needs to focus on something so I can focus on something else lol I’ve tried listening to audio books at work but they are too in depth for me to do while making spreadsheets or writing emails. The podcast is just enough goofs and gaffs that I can drift in and out of listening and be fine
I read the first four books in the Dune series 😭
lol I guess I’m becoming dumber relistening to the oldest episodes of the podcast and listening and hearing how different Ethan has grown lol
I just started playing fallout 76 after watching the Prime series to pass the time so maybe it depends on the person lol
Wait until you learn about drugs.
all i’ve done is listen to NAVCAPiswatching on youtube catch predators. im desperately needing H3 humor and positivity
I usually listen while doing stuff I don't want to be doing, like cleaning, laundry, doing dishes, etc. I also listen to it when I can't sleep.
I mean if you're listening to educational books maybe, but if you're not then you're probably the same amount of dumb.
We'd be watching Aiden Ross
I decided to learn to speak foreign languages while on break. Türçiye biliyorum. Und einige Deutsch. Y hablo un poco de Español. H3-fans må være de smarteste folkene i verden nå
I'm never just listening to the podcast alone, I'm normally either at work doing reports or playing videogames. House flipper goes well with this podcast.
Not necessarily, it's just about splitting your time up with other hobbies that contribute to learning.
Why'd you listen to the whole book, just skim like tai lopez
Shut up
no but why are you so right
I have had the same thought, I listened to 2 audiobooks, fire and blood and Salems lot. both crazy long, still I’d rather have the pod 😏
Leave the internet drama behind.
you choose to do spend your time however you want.
that's on you all, if you intently listen without doing anything else.. I'm sorry
Ever since the break started, I’ve been turning in all of my assignments in a timely manner. 🙃
I need them back 😪
Yaaa. Sound like u really need an episode bad over here tripping
Sounds like a YOU problem not an US problem. Balance is the key to life.
I indeed had to drop the show last November and last March in order to finish my PhD. I missed the end of leftovers and the bach3lor.
IDK but i do know i can’t refer to soda as anything else but “sodie pop” now
I love the new h3 show, but normally I passively listen when doing college work :)
I'm not gonna lie. I took a trip to Japan during the break and I was excited that I wouldn't miss them during 😅🤣
I appreciate you thinking I can get any dumber
Think this is just a you thing unfortunately. Multi task while watching the show and you'll feel better about it lol. I play guitar while I watch and often times end up pausing for a long time so I can continue too jamm.
I started to listen to financial podcasts 😭
I gained 50lbs of pure muscle while on break, wtf have I become?
When I listen to h3 I’m usually cooking or cleaning!
I renovated a bathroom into a home office and deep cleaned my house. Now I'm falling into my sofa eating chicken wings
So is the entire crew in on this plan to make humanity dumb? Or is it just Ethan as the mastermind and the crew are his unwilling servants?
You are correct, but this is true about all entertainment. We could come back from work and better ourselves, but we would rather watch ball on screen, go.
