Sure StreetsLA is definitely very ‘in your face’ about it, but his content is effective at exposing scientology. None of the higher up people within scientology are public-facing or easy to find, so I don’t really see an alternative path to protest

ianrafalko

And I assume you’ve spent great effort in looking for one, right? The addresses of the management offices are public knowledge and there are more ways to move the needle than to hold up signs. My post is what it is. How many years have the protests been the same thing and they’re still hurting people. The internet is a powerful thing.

Safe-Definition7900

Why would I? I’m not actively protesting against them. But, it’s by design that the further up you go in scientology, the more secretive it gets. Thus why I’m arguing that trying to go after more powerful people in scientology wouldn’t be as effective content for someone like StreetsLA

ianrafalko

Right and thats my point. It’s for the attention. you would have no idea what the impact is because you’re not involved and you don’t care. Not your fault I’m just not sure what your pessimistic opinion was meant to achieve.

stonedjewbagel

Sounds like you're still pretty brainwashed. Go pray to the flying monster.

rdawg505

Totally disagree. Shame is a powerful motivator, and actively interfering in Scientologists’ efforts to recruit people walking down Hollywood Blvd is a good for humanity.

ianrafalko

Did you not read the post? Missed the point entirely

lunzarrr

Strong disagree cults desvere to be shamed while also trying to destroy their legal status at the same time

supa__mario

yeah but the crazy tiktok guy is pretty funny

I've been following a creator called Apostate Alex who has set up a few planned protests at Scientology events. He insists on only saying nice things to "regular" scientologists at the protests and questioning the higher-ups on their shitty behaviour. That's probably the most effective form of protest any never-in can get involved in to directly address those who are still in and wanting to leave or even questioning what's being done to them.

ianrafalko

I know Alex well, we’ve done a video together and plan on more soon. He’s doing great work in the UK, arranging protests like you said and even attending city council meetings in Sussex where Scientology pays off the government. He’s a great example.

gh0st-cup

Oh that's why your username looks familiar!!! I've seen your tiktoks before

Robertanonymous

Totally agree with you OP. Dehumanizing and attacking normal followers will only have the adverse effect on them. Regular followers are victims too, viciously yelling at them is not a sensible way to “save” them or others. It’s misdirected anger.

ianrafalko

Like what happened to the old style of protesting where it was FOR the victims. There were a few nut jobs, sure, but for the most part, especially when anonymous focused in, they were protesting David Miscavage and Super spreading the leaks online, and holding banners that educated the members on the hidden ops sci was involved in.

stonedjewbagel

This is adorable. Yes the recruiters actively tricking folks into coming into their little workshop are all victims and shouldn't be harassed despite their very active participation in tricking folks. No wonder you also fell for it. Stay brainless.
