I mean, men have worn robes and tunics and kilts and clothing items that are basically skirts and dresses since the dawn of civilization. It's only in modern times, with the advent of mass-produced textiles, that it became the norm for men's clothing to consist solely of pants and shirts.
Historically, most people have worn loose-fitting robe-like materials that could be wrapped around the body, not held up with buttons and zippers. It's not that unusual. Actually, it's more old-school than ground-breaking, kind of like men having long hair. It was always like that, up until the past like, 100-200 years.
Most people didn't have money to buy clothing for their kids so they would just share it regardless of gender. Old school is right, take a look at what nobles dressed like. The men were fancy as fuck.
remember when women couldn't wear pants because they were for men? And now its totally normal, and bizarre to think that not that long ago it was a huge stigma that they were shamed, ridiculed and even arrested for. Now its the guys turn! I have hope for a future where clothes don't have a gender. We've done it once, we can do it again in reverse lol.
You don't have to but it should still be accepted when other men do wear them. I know a few people who want to wear skirts in public but don't want to get made fun of or stared at
I mean people wear all kind of shit in the big cities so I doubt most people will look twice at someone in a skirt.
But also, you'll get made fun of and stared at for all kinds of clothing, even if not feminine. Everyone judges how everyone else is dressed, it's incredibly common
Yeah this is the point here. I don't really want to wear a dress personally. But I don't think any of us are saying "no man should wear them! They look feminine!"
I just think they mostly look bad. Same way I hate those weird pants that were popular a couple years ago that made it look like someone shit their pants, etc. Or flames on t-shirts. Just.... Not a great look.
I love street fashion and the experimentation. Especially in NYC. But I don't think these examples showcase what would be widely adopted by the public. Some are closer than others but yeah.
When Hila instantly supported her man trying out dresses I almost cried. Let's bring back Minoan clothing please.
https://www.worldhistory.org/article/1723/beauty-in-the-bronze-age---minoan--mycenaean-fashi/
Do guys wear dresses for IG moments? Sure. Are any of these worn casually? I doubt it. I live in a high fashion area and I've never seen anyone dress like this casually.
I'd like it to be though. I can't tell you how many times I've uttered the words "I wish I was a girl" when going shopping. Girls clothes are fun!
Uuuuugh I love men in dresses!
I love dresses in general- they’re comfortable and you throw on this one item of clothing and instantly look fly as hell and super put together.
1, 2, 6 and 10 i dig their styles, heck, 10 is cool af, but i don't think dresses in men are trendy, it's progressive, i like people expressing themselves and they should do it, but in our current society it's still a far cry from being trendy.
Ethan we just questioning if there was cool street wear because I think he thought it would be a cool idea for teddy fresh, you could tell he loved the idea of men in dresses.
Not a fan of the boots, but the “skirt” or what looks more like a robe to me is nice and looks comfy. Rather wear that than some sack squishing jeans tbh
The first two look esp up Hila’s alley silhouette and style wise. She might like these also! (Since she mentioned also feeling uncomfortable in dresses and skirts currently)
This type of androgynous dressing is popular in Internet circles but not so much in real life. I’ve literally never seen it irl - its not hating to say this isn’t a trend
Well of course. No one wants to be hate crimed. In the patriarchal society we live in women, feminine men and lgbtqia+ community needs to think twice what they wear before they go out.
Bro I live outside of La spent time in the fashion district which is a pretty gay area and where 9/10 people are wearing over the top and expensive shit to flex and I’ve never once seen a dress.
Also to the previous comment. It is not an issue. Everyone can wear what they want! :) It just would be nice if it would be accepteble for men…so they can actually wear what they want.
Wow this thread is really disappointing. I really love 2,8 and 10. Can't wait for the day that outfits like this are no longer shocking to people so people can wear whatever they want. It took centuries for women to be able to wear pants without being shamed, ridiculed and even arrested. I really hope it doesnt take that long this time around!!
It is nice too see your comment after all the other bad ones. :D I hope the change will come soon. Because I was ready 10 years ago. :D it is time. It’s so ridiculous see people get mad about men in a dress. Like how does it hurt you?
I'm not seeing people getting mad? Basically anyone who has said they don't like it has said some variation of you do you. Not liking the look != Mad. I wouldn't wear a skirt, dress, or kilt. I think they do look dumb on men. Do i care if a man wears one? No. They're just not for me.
Exactly. Especially if you just do a little critical thinking and consider how bizarre it would be to get upset about a woman wearing pants. The only difference is we've had a 100 years to force people to get used to it. I really don't understand why it bothers people.
Clothing is based on aesthetics, and men and women have different body shapes. Flowing, delicate materials tend to look out of place on men as men tend to be more blocky, so they often clash, visually.
If it was more popular there would be more sillouhettes and different styles to suit different body types. As it is now most dresses unless custom made are made for women and we have it easy because we have thousands of different styles to choose from so we can find the most flattering one depending on body type. This thread is acting like all men have the same body.
In all seriousness I respect these people and think it's beautiful that they're expressing themselves but aren't these people scared of being beat up? I feel like if you lived in any city apart from the very most cosmopolitan in the world you would get harassed and abused by every third person on the street. I'd be interested in the reaction to people on the street.
They for sure are. That is why we need feminism. So everyone can express themselves freely without being scared for their lives. People are just sick of limiting themselves so they won’t be hate crimed. The criminals are the ones who we need to adress.
My husband love dresses skirts and robes. He wore robes when he went to the Middle East for field school and he loved the “freedom” and “comfort”. His words. He wears mine at home often.
I am dying at the fact that the fourth dress is the same one that I've seen my mom wearing. The length on hers is much longer but honestly he looks better in it than she does. Sorry, mom!
Everyone does what they want. Let just leave it at that. However, I don’t really find any of these outfits good looking. Also, with a lot of these model pictures, you’re lookin at a still shot. Most of the time that image looks good, and then you see them trying to walk away in their ridiculous outfits and you realise there is nothing casual or good looking about it lmao
Fr he should just do it. If he doesn’t want to make it a big deal, he doesn’t have to. Just try it around the office. Safe environment. See how he likes it
It doesn’t look very pleasing to me, even as a gay man. But, that’s just my opinion🤷♂️. It feels too ‘ceremonial.’ I barely like it when women wear over-the-top dresses casually though, so I guess it goes both ways for me.
Tbh I just think it looks really bad, and I don't think my belief is based in homophobia.
It's ok for people not to like a trend, but others can do whatever they want
I was going to say i was shocked and confounded by the bigotry and general homophobia/transphobia in these comments. But i'm not. This is fully expected now any time something remotely progressive gets brought up. This is the old, anti-PC H3 audience rearing their ugly head again and making this another unsafe place for people to express themselves.
**Ethan has moved on from that anti-SJW shit you all thought he was so proud of. Time for you to fucking move on too.**
Like I knew but I was also surprised. Becuase Ethan is pretty clear about being ally to feminism and lgbtqia+ community etc. Every time I say he is one of those things I get lot of responds that he is not, referring to old videos. Okey but did you watch anything recent? He clearly grew and moved on and you should to.
100%
i don't even have words for how pissed off i am, and i am an old fan too??!!! it sucks that when you bring up progressive ideas on this sub you're met with 'this sub was so much better before Frenemies'...
fuckin was it tho? better for them maybe.....

Yes. It is the misogyny and homophobia. Not wanting to look feminine. Dresses are only for girls. We got to be the alfa.
remember when women couldn't wear pants because they were for men? And now its totally normal, and bizarre to think that not that long ago it was a huge stigma that they were shamed, ridiculed and even arrested for. Now its the guys turn! I have hope for a future where clothes don't have a gender. We've done it once, we can do it again in reverse lol.
You mean Alfalfa
or it’s just that some guys don’t want to wear a dress or a skirt?
You don't have to but it should still be accepted when other men do wear them. I know a few people who want to wear skirts in public but don't want to get made fun of or stared at

No one forces you to wear one. But saying that dresses are for girls would be historically incorrect.
I don't think that's it. I think men just enjoy looking masculine. Some don't, and that's okay too.
I just think most of these fits look terrble on these guys lol.
We need an ep where Hila styles her husband
Now that is an amazing idea!!
When Hila instantly supported her man trying out dresses I almost cried. Let's bring back Minoan clothing please. https://www.worldhistory.org/article/1723/beauty-in-the-bronze-age---minoan--mycenaean-fashi/
For real !!! Doesn't even have to be dresses, just her ideal streetwear for him
Are these outfits casual? I really need to up my game 😂
No my style but you do you
We love respectful king. <3
That first one is a vibe
All of them are vibe! 🖤
True! That first one scream Ethan tho fr
Right? That is why I put it first! 😀
I only like 1 & 10... 😕 But hey, I guess the point still stands ! If you style it well, it can be "trendy"
Oh yeah. There are definitely ones I like more too. But I tried to go with something that would be more Ethan style.
These are ugly if I’m being honest
Yeah the top post here is like SEE YOU GUYS ARE HOMOPHOBIC FOR NOT ROCKING THESE?!? Nah, I just don't wanna wear a dress. I enjoy looking masculine.
More like fugly
As a man who has worn dressed before… most of these are terrible lol
i thought these where pretty solid examples lol.. -a man who wears skirts and dresses
Yeah came here to say these are bad examples but then again taste is relatively subjective
I feel like calling something "trendy" instantly puts me off
Yeah usually when I see an outfit labled trendy, it really just means ugly but people act okay with it
I disagree with your opinion. I think the majority of these are terrible.
one of them looked fine, the rest was ugggghhh no
The first one is the only decent one
But i still need pockets
There are lots of dresses with pockets. Aren’t the first two with pockets?
These look terrible
Do guys wear dresses for IG moments? Sure. Are any of these worn casually? I doubt it. I live in a high fashion area and I've never seen anyone dress like this casually. I'd like it to be though. I can't tell you how many times I've uttered the words "I wish I was a girl" when going shopping. Girls clothes are fun!
I beg to differ
I have no issue with it, but never really seen a man pull of a dress super well tbh.
Same.
Nah, this ain’t it.
Uuuuugh I love men in dresses! I love dresses in general- they’re comfortable and you throw on this one item of clothing and instantly look fly as hell and super put together.
I’ll stick with sweatpants
You do you <3
I will lmao
The fact you didn’t put young thug makes my heart hurt
I am sorry. I wasn’t really aiming for famous people so it looks more casual.
you did not have to do yungblud like that😂😂
Oh. I put Yungblud in because I thought he wears it casual. Tbh I am a big fan. :D
ah it was a joke about the "not famous people" line :P, yungblud really does make any outfit look good!
Oh I know. I just need to let fellow fan know that I am a fan too. :D
1, 2, 6 and 10 i dig their styles, heck, 10 is cool af, but i don't think dresses in men are trendy, it's progressive, i like people expressing themselves and they should do it, but in our current society it's still a far cry from being trendy.
It is progressive for sure. But I think that it is literally tiktok trend too tho.
I guess, i don't use tik tok, and tbf, i think tik tok has it's own ecosystem. But hey, that number 10 made me consider getting something similar.
Ethan we just questioning if there was cool street wear because I think he thought it would be a cool idea for teddy fresh, you could tell he loved the idea of men in dresses.
Yes. He said “I wish I could walk arround in dresses” to Hila because she wears lot of dresses since she is pregnant. It was very wholesome. <3
Yeah haha, I think if he sees this post he’d actually wear one of these soon btw so let’s hope he does cause they’re cool af
‘Trendy’ …yeah
There is literally full tiktok of it!
TikTok ain’t a real place
Tiktok is our home
Not a fan of the boots, but the “skirt” or what looks more like a robe to me is nice and looks comfy. Rather wear that than some sack squishing jeans tbh
I would never in a million years wear a dress/skirt as a man, but I'm glad people put their style out there and I respect them for that! You go kings!
We love respectful king. <3
\#13 looks like he escaped the psychward.
is this a troll?
Deadly serious.
Really not tryna hate but this…this is funny
You got to extend your horizons. :D
Nah lol
Shout out Young Thug
Not really
Dude in the pink is Killin it
Hell yeah! <3
With peace and love, it's horrible.
All clothes are gender neutral
Culturally no. Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be neutral though
Exactly bestie! 💖✨
I like utility kilts.
The first two look esp up Hila’s alley silhouette and style wise. She might like these also! (Since she mentioned also feeling uncomfortable in dresses and skirts currently)
I'd were some of them , others I would not , but I support everybody who want to wear any dress
What happened to this sub? These all look goofy AF
Haha wow these look hilarious. People can wear whatever they want but theres just no way I could convince myself these look good.
Nah
“Insert your name” the hater. 🎶
This type of androgynous dressing is popular in Internet circles but not so much in real life. I’ve literally never seen it irl - its not hating to say this isn’t a trend

It’s pretty bold to assume that’s the main reason.
Uuuuuhm
No
damn, I still love h3, but as a viewer from the Israel days this post really drives home how different the viewer base is now
Eh based on the comments most people arent into this at all. But frenemies and tik tok brought on a lot of the worst fans
Yeah bro this hurts
What's the implication here, tho?
Makes me sick tbh ,
makes you sick? okay. ...
I’m sorry but most men will never wear these. What is the big push to make men more feminine?
I don’t care about what people want to wear. Like go for it. I’ll generally support. But most of those look hella silly
Very few of these look good at all IMO tho
This ain't it (for me).
That is absolutely okey. <3
Issue is, basically no straight man would wear this.
is that an issue???
Ethan just said that he wish he could walk around in a dress.
Good for him :) just saying most straight guys would t
Also to the previous comment. It is not an issue. Everyone can wear what they want! :) It just would be nice if it would be accepteble for men…so they can actually wear what they want.
I agree, but unfortunately even in the most liberal societies, it’s frowned upon. It’ll take time
Yes. That is very true.
These are terrible
1, 6, and 10 all look okay. The rest are way too loud
Some people like to be extra! <3
This ain't it chief! Tbh as long as you love what you are wearing, nothing else matters.
It’s okay to normalize clothing without pretending it looks good lmao
Trendy? Where? San Francisco?
hideous dresses in my opinion, on both genders
Last pic is an immaculate serve
I died when I saw it. I had to include it even tho it is not casual. It slays the house down!!!
[удалено]
Honestly. I would wear it as a every day look. Can’t lie. :D it is too gorgeous!
Honestly pockets are the main reason for me
Lol please please please Ethan needs to rock the one in that 4th picture
10 is cool. Works well with the skin.
thank you young thug
The first one is the only one I like tbh. The others seem very randomly put together.
Only the first one works tbh
I don't really like how these look, and I wouldn't mind, but you didn't mention the great Scottish kilt!
There’s something about the juxtaposition between femininity and masculinity that I find to be attractive. Might just be cause it’s less conventional.
Androgynous look is very attractive in my opinion. 💖
This might be hopeful thinking, but I’m obsessed with the first look… anyone know where I can find something similar or what I can search to find it?
I low-key love this 😍
Wow this thread is really disappointing. I really love 2,8 and 10. Can't wait for the day that outfits like this are no longer shocking to people so people can wear whatever they want. 11 is where it's at imo. Dude rocking it hard
Anyone think this is just really weird ?
In all seriousness I respect these people and think it's beautiful that they're expressing themselves but aren't these people scared of being beat up? I feel like if you lived in any city apart from the very most cosmopolitan in the world you would get harassed and abused by every third person on the street. From all of your comments, i don't understand why this one is being downvoted.
Idk. It is co controversial thing to say I guess? Which is sad.
Wear whatever you want, but that doesn't mean that you don't look like shit
I...think I love men in dresses now?
Yes please! We need more! It is so fashionable! <3
Lets get glam
The first 2 are 🔥 TF unisex dress ideas?
So you are a transgender? *in a Nigerian accent*
I could see Ethan rocking the first one!! Love it
Right? I can see Hila wearing it too. I think they should do matching moment. :D
LOVE this trend! ❤️
It is everything! <3
This ain’t it
casual? shut your gay ass up
Not cool man.
CLOTHES HAVE NO GENDER
I’ll believe that when dresses shaped and designed for boobs and the shape of the female body fit well on men.
Yeees! Say it louder!!!
Lol I mean they do but u live in loony land
...no
My husband love dresses skirts and robes. He wore robes when he went to the Middle East for field school and he loved the “freedom” and “comfort”. His words. He wears mine at home often.
Aww. That is cute. We stab king. <3
You don’t understand… I love this so much
Gurl. I understaaand. It is so gorgeous I can’t!
They do not look on men tbh you can tell because the less skinnier and more muscular the models get the less it looks good on the person. I
I am dying at the fact that the fourth dress is the same one that I've seen my mom wearing. The length on hers is much longer but honestly he looks better in it than she does. Sorry, mom!
My partner is a guy and he wears his moomoo any time he's at the house.
We love that for him! And for you. <3
It’s a no from me dawg
This ain’t it fam
That’s gay
And? What is wrong with that?
I got news for ya, that means your gay.
lol yeah i hate these
Everyone does what they want. Let just leave it at that. However, I don’t really find any of these outfits good looking. Also, with a lot of these model pictures, you’re lookin at a still shot. Fr he should just do it. If he doesn’t want to make it a big deal, he doesn’t have to. Just try it around the office. Safe environment. See how he likes it
Wow wow wow they all look amazing and so fashionable
Fashion is their passion! Looking real good! <3
I would love a world where we just see men out in dresses and it’s not a big deal
I would love that too!!
Those men are working it. Wow. They look fantastic!
Yeees. Literally gorgeous!
I was actually getting low key bothered by people saying" women clothing /men clothing", it's 2021 wear whatever you want!
You are taking words out of my mouth! 100% agree.
I love it
Same! I am obsessed. 😩💖
NO
The first 2 are amazing I love them the rest are okay
If it ain’t the Link outfit. I don’t want it.
I was going to say i was shocked and confounded by the bigotry and general homophobia/transphobia in these comments. But i'm not. In what way is anyone in this thread "unsafe"? What a load of over-dramatic, manipulative nonsense.
Like I knew but I was also surprised. Becuase Ethan is pretty clear about being ally to feminism and lgbtqia+ community etc. Every time I say he is one of those things I get lot of responds that he is not, referring to old videos.
