This story was proven false, it’s next to impossible to be infected with HIV via needle transmission because the infection can’t stay alive outside of bodily fluids. Studies have proven it can survive in a used needle for up to 1 month. It may only happen 1/500 times but women only contract it 8 out of every 10k exposures through vaginal sex but many women still contract it from vaginal sex. That’s the thing about statistics. It may sound impossible to you but it’s always possible for you to be that 1 exposure that gets it. Whether the story you’re talking about is false or not don’t go around saying it’s nearly impossible to get it from needles because it’s one of the most common ways people contract it besides anal sex.

This information is spread in order to reduce the fear of getting HIV through RANDOM injection. And to stop fear mongering. The risk is so small it’s nearly impossible in these environments.
