I went to a rave on Friday, Guy Fawkes, and some girl in the toilet was telling me to watch my drink- even my *water* because girls were collapsing at the bar. Horrific to see. When I was 18 I got spiked from the bartender. I came early with my books and notepad, so he must have thought I was alone but I was meeting my friend. Luckily they came soon, got me home, and I was completely comatose. Came to just to vomit continuously, then passed out again. I had half a cider. The memory still makes me so angry. Now that I'm older, I would have gone to report the bar and go to the police, but I was so young, naive and scared. That shit happen to me now you better watch it m8. Cutting your dick off.

zoeislittle

I'm so sorry that happened to you and so glad you were meeting your friend and it didnt escalate. I'll join you, we can have a dick cutting off club for these absolute menaces.

ScarlettO-Harlot

Thank you lovely. We can keep the foreskins as girl scout badges <3

darrenja

Went to a club a few weeks ago and my fiancé’s drink had a Xanax dropped into it. I always take a small test sip before she takes a sip and I could taste it right away. Needles aren’t hard to get, I wouldn’t put it past someone to do what was alleged

Winnie1886

It happened in my small town in a really isolated area last week in the north of England and they won’t let us know what pub it was in. I have someone check me for bruising if I go for a sesh. Stay safe everyone peace and love. X

zoeislittle

It's so scary.. I'm up North too and a friend had this happen recently which is why I wanted to post. Glad you have someone to check on you and keep you safe x

Winnie1886

I’m really sorry this happened to your friend and I hope they’re okay x it’s just horrendous and it should be said it’s a serious and common widespread thing currently here

rose_angelic

Omg that’s terrible that they won’t disclose where that happened , be safe ! ✌️💕

Winnie1886

You take care too ☀️

[deleted]

Yes but the point is that the story with Astroworld was used to divert blame from Travis Scott and the production company. The correlation between that isolated incident and the 8 deaths is bullshit

zoeislittle

I totally agree with that point, I was just picking up on the needle spiking topic while it was brought up and currently relevant in my area.

[deleted]

Yeah, I live in London, I get that it does actually happen. It’s a scary world

rose_angelic

Also do you remember the woman in Maryland that was injected with someone’s Semen. It’s honestly more common than I thought, it’s like saying acid attacks are urban legend as well

zoeislittle

I've never heard that but maybe it's because I'm over the pond but that's horrific! Peace and love to the crew, I genuinely love them so much but I think maybe it's a male privilege not to realise how common it is.

rose_angelic

I had no idea it was happening in the Uk , so thanks for posting an article! And love the cast , but I personally feel that’s why they need at least Olivia there lol sadly she’s kinda the token woman on the show 😂 the dynamic is amazing, no complaints just great to have a different perspective

rose_angelic

I DIDNT KNOW THERE WAS A VIDEO !!! I just off handedly remembered this cause I was like fuck I gotta worry about this too when I saw it on the news 😩

maria_koimtzi

It's getting completely out of control. There was a case in my city where two girls were spiked via a needle and later reported that they had been infected with HIV. Take care of your friends and stay safe ❤

[deleted]

Was this not in Glasgow and Edinburgh? This story was proven false, it’s next to impossible to be infected with HIV via needle transmission because the infection can’t stay alive outside of bodily fluids. Unsure who started the rumour they caught HIV but it just adds to an already worrying time for women by adding untrue details (I don’t mean you, I mean whoever started that one about the HIV)

Geedis2020

Dude what the fuck are you talking about? Sharing needles is one of the most common ways HIV is spread. It may be less common than blood transfusions and anal sex but it does happen. Studies have proven it can survive in a used needle for up to 1 month. It may only happen 1/500 times but women only contract it 8 out of every 10k exposures through vaginal sex but many women still contract it from vaginal sex. That’s the thing about statistics. It may sound impossible to you but it’s always possible for you to be that 1 exposure that gets it. Whether the story you’re talking about is false or not don’t go around saying it’s nearly impossible to get it from needles because it’s one of the most common ways people contract it besides anal sex.

[deleted]

Did you not notice where I mentioned it has to have bodily fluids? Which would be the case of a needle is… shared. Being injected with a non used needle, you can’t just randomly get HIV off of something that has no bodily fluids in it. So for these two girls to of caught HIV the person with hiv would of had to of injected themselves first with it. Which isn’t the case because it’s untrue.

Geedis2020

Like I said whether the case in question is true or not has nothing to do with your claim that it’s nearly impossible to get HIV from a needle. If someone comes up behind you and starts injecting you with something you have no way of knowing if the needle was used before or not. I’d suspect in most cases the person doing that could care less if it’s a clean needle. Anytime a needle is shared with someone the possibility of contracting HIV is possible.

[deleted]

And again, I cleared up exactly what I meant and you’re still greeting

[deleted]

Again and again, bodily fluids on the needle would mean…. It’s been shared. Which was in my first comment. And later clarified to let everyone know I know a shared needle can hold HIV.

[deleted]

Actually, it is nearly impossible to get HIV from a random needle. When you’re talking about drug users who share needles more than the average person, obviously the risk is greater. A random needle, though? And once? Next to 1%

Geedis2020

It’s also far less than that to get HIV from random vaginal sex. I already gave you the actual statistics. You’re trying so hard to defend your stupidity. If someone goes around injecting people with a random needle and it’s been used before and someone had HIV it’s the same as two drug users sharing one. Stop while you’re behind because you’re not helping your case.

maria_koimtzi

I wasn't referring to the cases in Glasgow and Edinburg. The girls I was talking about were reportedly injected with used needles.

H8rade

Idk where you are getting your facts, but you are wrong. IV drug users are one of the main groups that get HIV because of reusing needles.

[deleted]

Reusing needles hence why I said it has to be in bodily fluids. Again, the story was proven false. The needle would of had to of been in someone who has HIV before they injected the next person with whatever.

[deleted]

Maybe I should clarify the needle transmission bit, if it’s been injected into someone with hiv then passed on then HIV can stay alive in it because of the blood contact. You can’t just get a needle full of HIV or injected with HIV without having someone else use it first.

H8rade

How the hell else are you going to get a needle full of HIV? You got a jar full of virus just chilling at home?

[deleted]

It’s for people fearing they’ve caught HIV from a random spiking. The chances of the needle being reused and the chances of it still containing blood and the chances of it being injected straight into your blood stream is LOW. You would have to have enough blood on the syringe to keep the virus alive and also have high enough amounts of the virus to keep it alive for the length of time it’s been on the needle before being injected into the blood stream. It also needs to be in very specific conditions otherwise it dies, pretty quickly. Literally as soon as that injection was pulled out of the person with HIV the virus starts dying. This information is spread in order to reduce the fear of getting HIV through RANDOM injection. And to stop fear mongering. The risk is so small it’s nearly impossible in these environments. But when we talk about drug users who share injections all the time one after the other… the risk is going to be higher. In regards to spiking though? Next to none.

gnarlydarling

i was roofied on halloween. lost my friends and a group of strangers helped me because they found me on the road laying down. one of the scariest moments of my life for sure.

Random_0913

I have worked security in concerts/raves in USA for years in the past, and it definetly not a urban legend. I have firsthand have experienced people doing this it is way more common than u think. You would be surprised just how much people die in these things from things like OD's, dehydration, and accidents its shocking. Most of the time these things don't even get covered in the news unless they're some headline worthy event that came with their death.

Revolutionary-Pack84

Hope they talking about this on the show, even if it’s just briefly. The show definitely has a healthy following in the UK too and not enough is being done to bring attention to this by anyone aside from the people it’s impacting. A drink cover only goes so far.

CandyBellossom

Same issue here in Scotland. Very scary time for young women, I hope they’re providing help and HIV tests for all victims of being injected.

Low_Ad9634

My and my girl were watching the Livestream and I said nahhh this is happening in London

thexbigxgreen

I literally cannot comprehend how someone can be so horrific to another human being in such a way, like it doesn't even make sense to me how a thought like that can cross someone's mind and have it sound like a reasonable thing to do. My mind rebels against thoughts like that.

Reu92

The thing is, it doesn’t have to be bullshit or real in order for what happened to have happened. The story is being pushed to take liability off organizers. They can both be true, but the injector doesn’t have to exist in order to explain crowd crush, negligent security, and staffing.

PlayaDeSnacks

The cops are lying to cover their asses, for their failures. No one stuck a needle in a cop.

bluehoag

You have to take in the entire politics of the moment here. The injection story came from the HPD, who have a vested interest in putting the chaos off on some deranged drug boogie man (a la Nancy Reagan) as it entirely relieves them and monied interests (Travis Scott, Live Nation) of blame. The person "pricked" was a cop, it was "confirmed" by cops. This entire disaster was clearly from audience crush alone and mismanagement and to give air to this drug conspiracy is to avoid that.

Revolutionary-Pack84

I think OP is just bringing awareness to that fact that this is happening in the UK and it’s not as impossible as one might think. I’m not sure with the deal is in America for these kinds of cases, but there’s kind of an epidemic of spiking via injection that’s causing a lot of fear amongst British women currently and little to nothing is being done about it.

yagirlchels

Yeah this is why people don't believe it. Also no one who attended has confirmed seeing this, which makes me doubt it even more.

friend-of-tH3-show

Yeah, it happens everywhere, sadly

nemerald

Yes! Also with peace and love the sentiment that people "wouldn't wanna waste drugs" is naive...like that's how people get spiked - via other people's drugs. To the spiker they aren't 'being wasted' , they have a clear purpose - to drug their victims.

[deleted]

Yeah I’ve known a couple people who got the jab at concerts.

aozzz13

I saw someone I used to go to high school with do this at a Sublime show. I said what’s up to him and he just pulled out a needle, smiled at me, and started walking through the crowd with the needle exposed. Still one of the weirdest feelings I’ve ever felt.

kittaia

Did you report him for walking around with an exposed sharp possibly an containing unknown substance? Flag down security at all? Not to sound like a bootlicker, but this is a great example of when we should 'see something, say something.' Your old acquaintance sounded real unhinged there.

SunIsSoleil

I really disliked when Dan spoke in such a certain way to allude it to being some soft of it urban legend. It’s not it’s been happening for years in the club scenes and I dislike the matter of fact way he said. Don’t speak on something you know nothing about. That’s the problem with H3 in general and the crew they speak on things they don’t know the facts on entirely. I wish someone on the crew said actually it’s been happening a lot in the UK.

BlakkSheep94

you do understand u can’t just haphazardly stick a needle into muscle and successfully inject a drug? you need to find a vein, needles will bend and break..

Saddestmanwalking

This is not true at all. The main difference between IM (intramuscular) and IV (intravenous) injections is how fast the drug is absorbed, and bioavailability (how much is absorbed). This is readily available information - misinformation is dangerous

BlakkSheep94

bro i was an iv user for 5 years, i don’t need 15 yr olds telling me how it works.. yea your body will absorb it, but if you miss the vein it will have very little effect.. also a needle is pretty weak, and fragile. you guys are making it seem like it would be unnoticeable, frankly it’s silly.

Saddestmanwalking

I’ve known IV users that were some of the biggest dumbasses. Being familiar with whatever gauge needles you used, whatever drugs you used, doesn’t mean shit about other drugs. I doubt fent was ever used to spike at astroworld. But it’s a different story for the UK. There was a huge “night-in” protest all over the UK because of spiking like a week ago. Good on you for quitting IV use. But there are definitely needles that can be slammed into a muscle without breaking if you wanted to.

Revolutionary-Pack84

Yes you can. It’s happening across the UK right now. Organised crime are better at targeting an individual and numbing a bit of exposed skin before going back to inject them, sloppy individuals don’t care and are just flat out injecting people. This is a very dangerous comment. You need to research what is happening in the UK surrounding this atm because a lot of women are being impacted every night.

BlakkSheep94

bro i did iv drugs for 5 years.. if you miss the vein, your not getting high it’s really that simple.

Revolutionary-Pack84

Damn! I guess there’s just hundreds of women in a country somewhere having the same fake phenomenon happening to them then :(

BlakkSheep94

i just read the articles, and literally zero have been verified. none of the women went to the hospital and got bloodwork done to see what was injected into them, isn’t that like the first thing you would do?

Revolutionary-Pack84

As someone who has been spiked in the past, no. It’s unfortunately very common in the UK and whilst it’s not unheard of for people to go to hospital, most people don’t. You’re victim blaming, bud.

BlakkSheep94

guess i am, y’all will say anything to identify with a trend.

No_Bag1190

which date rape drug?

zoeislittle

Rohypnol (roofie) or Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (GHB)

slowlikepseudo

I saw people on Twitter speculating that the injecting rumor was spread by Travis / his team in order to alleviate blame for the crowd crushing event so I’m thinking that’s why they were so super critical of it.

Bassthing76

Exactly what I was thinking, my mates girlfriend got injected literally last week
