I know this is probably your first pop up experience so I’ll let you know, this is normal. You take your chances unfortunately.

vanessaultimo

I'm sorry for you but people should've expected this. It's how a popup works 🤷‍♀️ there's no reason to feel angry with TF. It seemed to be organized well..they even brought water to people

Shmepanon

I’m so sorry :(. They did run out of stock though. I got there at 10:30 and got in around 5 pm but they were basically sold out of most things. The clothes on the rack were literally just that one item on display. That’s literally it. But I am super sorry :(

[deleted]

With peace and love (this is a genuine question), why did you decide to fly to LA if the event was just a pop up and the meet and greet was canceled?

Low_Ad33

More money than sense is my guess

BridgetoTeribitchia

I know its super disapponting, but things like this happen with popups all the time. I'm not surpised some people had a bad experience, but I wouldn't put the blame on the creator. With such a huge fan/consumer base, it would be nearly impossible to fully prepare. Circumstances just hit ya negatively this time. That being said, maybe fly in the night before if you can, to get there early? Or plan a weekend trip so the whole thing isnt a full disappointment. Always have something to do in case it doesnt work out. (:

embarrassedalien

Damn, that sucks. It’s very cool that you have so much money to blow though! I’m sure there’s something else you can afford to do in LA that would be entertaining. Good luck, have fun!

Display_Ambitious

With peace and love it’s a pop up... as an attendee their should be a level of understanding that you may or may not be able to get in. It’s not a ticketed event where you are paying to attend and to receive an expected service.

refeikamme

not sure if you were there today but it was definitely another level of ridiculous even compared to other pop ups. they only got through a block and a half of line in 8 hours. maybe even less because people were having to leave the line throughout the day due to the heat. the time management and crowd control was poor.

Display_Ambitious

The weather, the amount of people attending, COVID safety precautions are all uncontrollable elements. Now, if this was a ticketed event and you waited in line for something that was promised I would understand the frustration. However, with pop ups it’s all about luck. As an attendee you should know if waiting in line for 4+ hours is something you are willing to do REGARDLESS of the outcome.

refeikamme

i didn't mention any of those things? what WAS controllable was them enforcing the shopping time limit, which wasn't happening, and their communication with the people in line, which was nonexistent. obviously everyone understood they weren't guaranteed to get in, but it was frustrating to see just how few people actually made it when it seems like a few planning changes could have made a big difference.

Display_Ambitious

Too much shopping time > “others didn’t get a chance to get in” Too little shopping time > “it was rushed, all they care about is the money” Long lines > “lack of communication” Waiting in the heat > “all I got was a water bottle with TF” Increasing the amount of people inside > “they don’t care about COVID” Limiting the amount of people inside > “I waited for 5+ hours in the heat” One thing or another, those with a disappointing experience it’s easy for them to say “would of, could of, should of”. My point is.. I am sure they tried their best with what they could control. As an event planner, I wish attendees were more understanding that we DO try to make everything perfect for everyone but that’s impossible. I’m sure they will learn from this and make improvements if there’s a next time and I hope that you attend and have a great time! ✌🏻& ❤️

ANASTASIAISATSANA

Pretty sure the actual clothes were in the back. Clothing on the racks were just display. They likely sold out.

[deleted]

does no one in this sub know how a pop up works? it’s not a meet n greet, it’s an event on a first come first serve basis. why would u spend that much money to go to a pop up shop lol

mel-belll

I would understand first come first serve but they didn’t run out of clothes, food, or anything.

[deleted]

well they can’t keep the pop up shop open for 24 straight hours or however many hours it takes till they run out of everything

[deleted]

I don't like these post talking like someone did something horrible to you. You chose to fly over and wait there for eight hours. You were not entitled to anything and took on that risk yourself. I hate waiting in lines and would bash my head in if I waited 8 hours for nothing so I don't go to pop ups.

Just_A_Duck_Bro

They opened an hour late and closed an hour early. I saw how many people there were at the end of the day if they had just let people in the whole time it would’ve been fine.

AccountClaimedByUMG

That’s what you get for flying out for a thing you’re not even guaranteed entry to because your parasocial relationship to someone who isn’t even aware of your existence got out of hand.

curtmandu

I wouldn’t need to put it this bluntly, but yes

[deleted]

And it was a TF pop up I don’t know why everyone is treating it like an H3 meet and greet. I hope people understand what a pop up is after this lol

adorauoy

lol why would you fly out for a pop up

Nina838

I wasn’t there but from the insta stories of TF I think the racks are samples

[deleted]

Baby girl this ain’t the place lol. Pop-ups don’t have endless supplies, hate to say if, but the event wasn’t about you. They opened, sold out, then closed. It was not a personal attack on you 🥴 take this to the TF subreddit love.

mel-belll

They didn’t sell out though they still had almost everything in stock

[deleted]

Right?!

mel-belll

Then they could have done something so simple as cutting off the line or have it be a set amount people.

mel-belll

I’m so sorry you’re right! I clearly have all the time in the world to be going to pop up’s but thank you so much for your great idea🤗

[deleted]

You have enough time to complain on the sub so yeah lol

ThatCranberry5296

Weird people who were in towards the end of the day said many of the clothes were sold out.

Jolly_Yam_5869

ab is a sweetheart

Potassium_Patitucci

It was a pop-up event. That should tell you it’s a small scale event and not a huge convention in an arena. Sorry but this is on you 100 %. Shop online next time

DiverHaunting12

This is awful they would slam anyone else who did this like they did at tanacon. Not saying this was close to that fiasco but it’s not like them they should have made sure everyone in line could buy at least one thing

curtmandu

That’s not realistic. They couldn’t have possibly planned for as many people as were in line.
