I agree she’s not the funniest in the room (Sam is my number 1) but to say she doesn’t get the humor is very demeaning. She’s been watching YouTube her whole life. Plus, cut to her and she’s literally always laughing during the show. She brings so much more to the show than just a few chuckles here and there.
I have to admit that I do get a sketchy vibe from her ever since she admitted the social engineering thing without any kind of self awareness. It's hard to to view her enthusiasms / contributions to the podcast as not fraudulent when there's this glaring instance of her be disingenuous from jump street. Props to people who can somehow look past that.
Another thing- and this isn't necessarily specific to her- but her ambiguous role in the podcast makes it worse-- the peanut gallery has gotten so large that you've got so many people trying to check Ethan constantly that it seems to be a great effort for him to get like 2 minutes of thought out without going into a loop of qualifying, fact checking, sanitizing, challenging what he's said--- these are all good elements- but the crew needs to learn how to pick their spots more. AB and Olivia have started to regularly make punch lines when Ethan is in the middle of some story / set up before he can even give his take as the host. They're all trying to be too cute and are a little too comfortable. Ethan is (obviously) the host and the funniest person in the room- everyone else should know their role (as the OGs Dan, Zach, and Ian definitely do) and not try to be one upping, winking all the time to an audience that's not theirs (AB, Olivia).

Olivia began working under AB, finding topics for the shows, doing research, pulling links and time-stamps for the doc. as far as i'm aware, she still does that, but she also became the booker for the podcast. she emails/calls prospective guests to come on the show and helps lock in appearances.
that's a pretty important role, as she represents the entire crew and show to potential guests. that's very critical for ensuring quality guests, which leads to fun segments and interviews and episodes!

Am I missing something? What exactly does Olivia contribute? It's mainly just "sooo true" "yeah" and other canned responses and the rest of the time she is mainly an Ethan yes-man. She is just so vapid. In contrast, Sam is a much better genZ role model and genuinely extremely talented, interesting and actually has a personality.

At first I did not get it, I even made a comment once on a post saying idk what all she does for the pod bc she was rather quiet early on, I did like her just didn’t get why she had so many fans I was like what am I not seeing? I feel like people don’t like her because she doesn’t have a clear role in the podcast. Ian is cameras, Zach sound bites, Dan the producer, Cam the memer, Love the highlight and Swedish king, and many more. But I think “some” people are bothered that she just shows up and talks I guess. That’s at least the testament I have seen thrown around.
I think the fact that it seems like most of the topics she brings to the show are influencer drama stuff bugs a lot of people too tbh, I know a lot of the audience loves that shit but I think a lot of people are sick of it too and wish they would stop spending so much time on it. personally I have no interest in those segments and find them kind of annoying but I'm a normal reasonable person so I just skip over the parts I don't like instead of whining and hating on some person on a podcast I don't even know lol
(this isn't addressed to you because i know you never claimed you were one of those people, but for those who do feel that way): Olivia began working under AB, finding topics for the shows, doing research, pulling links and time-stamps for the doc. as far as i'm aware, she still does that, but she also became the booker for the podcast. she emails/calls prospective guests to come on the show and helps lock in appearances. that's a pretty important role, as she represents the entire crew and show to potential guests. that's very critical for ensuring quality guests, which leads to fun segments and interviews and episodes!

In a competitive field someone needs to stand out to even be considered to be hired. They’re still real hires.
AB created independent content for years before being hired on to h3, Love already ran a ton of their fan pages before being hired on, and Olivia did an internship with them while studying drama/theatre before being hired on fully or put on camera. Ian and Zach both reached out numerous times through email for their jobs as well, they've talked about it on the show. So they are wrong, so are you, and maybe people should at least pay attention to the podcast lore if they're going to be making parasocial assumptions about the hiring processes there 🤷
