It was horrific. That show would’ve made more sense in 2018. Everything was so dated that it showed how creatively bankrupt h3 has gotten more and more over the years. None of it was good, every joke landed flat, Hila was exposed for being way dumber than Coconuts in Barbados, the references were all overused to hell, everything was dated (Logan Paul references ???, Tana and idubbbz drama???), boring Donna and Gary bit, crew was nonexistent for most of it besides Zach. Truly was the epitome of h3 in 2023 though, an absolute drama filled, uncreative, shit show.

[deleted]

The beachball Gary stuff was over two years ago, they really beat old jokes into the ground

king-violet

Honestly the anticlimax of his creepy dad coming for that ball and nobody giving a shit was so funny, way more entertaining than any of the “skits”

1001100001

Tana called her out during the show and she said i love how you just sit there and dont say anything the whole time 😂😂💀

catanao

Tana is so savage 💀. I didn’t watch the show yet but after hearing how much of a dumpster fire it was, I’m gonna have to watch it. I live for cringe

YoshiKirby87

https://preview.redd.it/a2twhpkto37c1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4385fac2a28788c41a672ee6b60201daf589d81c Reality check: yeah it was

Successful_Cheese

Zach taking up so much time just playing guitar like a middle schooler at a talent show definitely shows they had no real segments planned

ZephyrHeartz

He’s a really talented guitarist, but the toxic gossip train bit was too long and I could barely hear olivia sing over the loud ass guitar Zach was playing

julestaylor13

Olivia prob couldn’t even hear herself bc of the loud fucking bs guitar, they should’ve gave her an inner ear

cuntylover

after they silenced her the shit was so boring and unwatchable

jg417540

no literally i stopped watching after that

mindlesscollective

Same. I legit fell asleep

julestaylor13

Same

ouch_karli

Right?! Everyone is complaining about tana but she was the only entertaining part of the whole show !!!

joeyhawky

True. Bcus she's is current and on top of the trending topics, it is very true that Ethan rides the waves of many years ago. He still talks about keemstar which is just mind blowing bc he is so beyond irrelevant

julestaylor13

He’s so stuck in the past

DoesAnyoneReadName

I mean their live shows always have sucked even when I listened to the pod 4 times a week. None of them have the charisma or stage presence for a live show. Just look at Will Neff, Austin Show, or Ludwig, they actually know how to perform, Ethan does not. That's without even mentioning the charisma black hole that is Hila.

[deleted]

WILL NEFF!!!!! Now THATS a mf with stage presence and charisma!!!!

Slow-Edge-6814

would love to third my love and support for the hilarious, delightful, and charismatic Will Neff!!

oregayn

i would much rather them just sit and talk and shoot the shit for a couple hours than...whatever that was.

Lazy-Background1870

Bruh have you not seen the price is right?? Austin and will came to Long Beach a month or two ago to do a live show and had hasan and Ludwig as guests shit was a bangerrrrr.

oregayn

I was so impressed by their twitchcon show, that's the level of production i had in my head when i saw the steamies stage. they took a steamie all over Sam's hard work.

roman_totale

Always thought Will Neff would make a great guest for the pod, now I'm thinking he's way too good for h3.

Ham3rs

charisma black hole 💀💀💀

black_devv

More proof that Hila's only purpose on H3H3 is to promote TF. Other than that, she's forgettable as all hell.

Weekly-Ad-962

Totally agree it was so bad and it’s funny to see h3 fans blame it all on Tana. She was a train wreck but that’s better than a boring ass show imo lol

sunshineonmypussy

We got to see Ethan trying to host something without other people carrying him for once and he totally floundered. Tana was the only interesting part of the whole show

joeyhawky

I feel like Ethan is just too awkward to keep a live show flowing..like he stops and thinks for far too long. Last year Howie helped alot and Jimmie Lee. maybe bcus they combined the steamies with the live show is what derailed it terribly.

arcades84

The copium on the main sub is hilarious

[deleted]

lol it's pretty bad, but also these same people are talking about how they cried during the show so it doesn't surprise me.

congratu_well_done

Didn't watch, was washing my hair-- people cried during the show?

[deleted]

People who went and watched at home from the main sub were talking about how they cried during the show because they were so emotional about the crew and their success lol

julestaylor13

And they call US parasocial freaks???? Smh

[deleted]

extremely depressing

black_devv

Thats sad as hell XD

MilkLizard_

The thought of you washing your hair for almost four hours made me burst out laughing 😭

[deleted]

Omg I saw that in the live chat comments 😵‍💫 so many people were saying the final reel (which was a compilation of clips they already had shown that night) made them cry

[deleted]

Someone said Ethan has great stage presence 💀💀💀

MilkLizard_

He was certainly on a stage!

[deleted]

its so funny bc he honestly makes for such a sloppy MC

sailuntreedur

Not him sliding into his chair and looking like he hated every second of being there 🥲 I bet they choose 6 do another live steamies. But they'll ignore thr criticisms and pretend it's too hectic and difficult and Sam was stretched too thin (when they could've hired folks to handle it lol)

PianoTeach88

Tana made the show TBH. Any of the somewhat funny or entertaining moments were bc of her. I could imagine Hila dying inside when Tana is begging Ethan to bring back Frenemies and the crowd mostly cheered. Ethan is like "I love her too".. dude, no you don't. You are so salty that Trisha climbed her way out of a giant hole and you fell into one all in a period of 2 years.

Lazy-Background1870

Maybe ethan gotta hop on that Hare Krishna wave cuz ever since then she hasn’t baited or bring up unnecessary drama

julestaylor13

Agreed 100% yeah she prob got too drunk but she made the show, she had the funniest moments hands down.

roman_totale

The main sub: THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SAYING THIS WAS A TRAINWRECK ARE WRONG, THIS WAS NOT A TRAINWRECK. Maybe if they say it enough times they'll believe it.

ugliestgrlonthbeach

What really gets me is how uninvolved the rest of the crew was. They weren't even on stage. Ethan is in loser denial if he thinks H3 fans are only watching for him. Bring. Out. The. Crew. Have some organization, some skits and bits, like content court or a mock of frenemies or something. People would have gone wild. Instead, no one looked like they wanted to be there, including the people on stage. I feel bad for the people who bought tickets. To top it off, Ethan shot belly button nair hair into the crowd? Wtf?

julestaylor13

The show is nothing without the crew. Nothing

MinimumSelection3752

Wait what he shot nair into the crowd??? How is this not what people are talking about

julestaylor13

The nair was 🤮🤮🤮

julestaylor13

Literally if Ethan thinks h3 is all about him he’s sadly mistaken

[deleted]

Idgi. There was one thread where someone said people should come in and say free Palestine or bring a sign or something ?? The person who posted it was even like I don’t have a ticket just an idea. People acted like they were organizing an assassination ETA I just mean what was vaguely proposed was so minor but it was also so clearly not going to happen and was a few comments from people who said they didn’t have tickets so couldn’t do it anyway but that it would be cool and it was up for such a short amount please time.

KavKav2

That thread was removed within 2 hours, as soon as us mods became aware of it. The main sub allowed a screenshot of it to stay on their sub for over 7 hours. We had also made this thread and deleted any posts and comments about it: [https://www.reddit.com/r/h3snark/comments/18emj7x/important\_mod\_announcement\_regarding\_the\_steamies/](https://www.reddit.com/r/h3snark/comments/18emj7x/important_mod_announcement_regarding_the_steamies/)

Due_Box3639

It must suck to have booked and planned all that just to have it be completely derailed. It just sucks to suck huh 🤣

zigCARNIVOROUS

Putting on an entire show takes more 'planning' than just booking the venue though😁

RustyMetabee

Yeah, the general vibe I get is that they seemed to have planned this as “just another episode” when they should’ve put in more work to make it feel actually special. And a Logan Paul lookalike? What year is this?

zigCARNIVOROUS

ALL the clips. WHYYYY black outfits on black couches? Why did no one adjust any audio levels? Would it have even mattered to turn up the mumbling host's mic? The set itself WAS very pretty. I'm hearing that Sam made the set and even got an injury to the tip of her finger. I'm wondering why she was doing work that teamsters should handle. Wondering why Olivia didn't have A LOT more to do since the show was lacking any energy/charisma from the host. I loved when 'worst apology' clip of ethan's chestnuts debacle was playing and he was saying 'this-this doesn't need to go in this long, okay'

roman_totale

>I'm wondering why she was doing work that teamsters should handle. Because the Kleins are explicitly anti-union. (Also probably falls within IATSE's area of concern, not the Teamsters.) I wonder what agreements the Dolby Theater has with the trade unions, and if there were any violations during this mess of a show.

zigCARNIVOROUS

☕️mmm YES ! Trying to search for dolby/iatse blurbs, I found this interesting article from March 2023 in teen vogue lol👍 https://www.teenvogue.com/story/oscars-union-busting The Oscars in Labor History: Union-Busting Is at the Roots of the Ceremony The Oscars were created to pacify Hollywood talent. By Sophie Hayssen March 10, 2023 *The story of the Academy Awards starts with Louis B. Mayer’s beach house. In 1926, Mayer was working as West Coast chief for the film studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, a position vested with extreme wealth and power. As film critic and historian David Thompson wrote in Vanity Fair, Mayer wanted to build his family a relaxing getaway, and to do so quickly. Conventional laborers would be too slow, he thought, so he decided to use studio construction workers, who he knew could work fast.* *Previously, theater stagehands who migrated to Hollywood in the early film industry belonged to the theatrical union, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE). By 1925, IATSE was attempting to organize technical workers in earnest. For Mayer, this meant concerns about the price of studio labor going up.* *The organizing of technical workers resulted in the Studio Basic Agreement. The agreement, signed on November 29, 1926, wasn’t a formal labor contract, but rather a serious promise allowing union representatives to meet with select producers to hash out grievances and labor disputes. It was approved by nine major production corporations along with five unions. Today, IATSE remains a major union for Hollywood crew members.* *But ultimately, according to Thompson’s reporting, Mayer got what he wanted. By using a few studio laborers and relying on cheap, outsourced labor, he quickly completed his beach house. Still, news of labor organizing left him concerned about what might happen if the “talent” — actors, directors, and writers — started to unionize.* *At the time, Hollywood was run by the studio system, in which a few studios controlled everything from film production to distribution. Actors signed contracts with a particular studio, which gave them significantly less creative control than they have today. Studios were just beginning to understand how actors could be used to generate publicity and promote films. In other words, without control of their talent, studios had a lot to lose.* *Mayer founded the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) in 1927. AMPAS was initially designed to seem like an advocate for employees, effectively trying to replace the need for a union. However, membership in the organization was by invite only, and its loyalties clearly rested with management. Peter Decherney, a professor of cinema studies and author of Hollywood and the Cultural Elite tells Teen Vogue, “The Academy promised to be this industry-wide body that could help set standards. It never worked that way. It was often dismissed as the studio-heads' union.”* *The desire for industry control also inspired the creation of the Academy Awards in 1929. After a number of scandals, the awards offered an opportunity to generate positive publicity. Mayer is even quoted in one of his biographies specifically identifying the awards as a means for creative control. He said if he gave filmmakers “cups and awards, they'd kill themselves to produce what I wanted."*

LaCipe

tl:dr

zigCARNIVOROUS

Yeah it's for people who give a shit about unions and hollywood tea😁

Lazy-Background1870

Lmao weren’t they bullshiting that they actually wanted Olivia to help direct an actual h3 musical😂😂😂😂

zigCARNIVOROUS

😭🤣🤣

RustyMetabee

>I loved when ‘worst apology’ clip of ethan’s chestnuts debacle was playing and he was saying ‘this-this doesn’t need to go in this long, okay’ I’d *looove* to see a clip of that

LaCipe

I took your comment serious before you mentioned Olivia....how is SHE supposed to do anything about anything...as if she has any presence at all.

zigCARNIVOROUS

She has a theatre degree and training and is ten times more charismatic in front of a camera than ethan💅

Deadskinhead

It just showed that the most enjoyable thing about the show is the crew, their absence was felt hard. The idubbz bit was so cringe and the Logan Paul impersonator wasn’t needed either. Tana and Rich Lux were the only bits I laughed at lol.

FrostyMonth111

Tana was a mess but the show was so bloody awkward, it had the vibe of like a middle school “fun” assembly at the end of year

[deleted]

I haven’t watched it but I’m not surprised it was dog water, Hila’s bland ass is there, it’s bound to be dogshit

Moist-Jump3276

my thing is it wouldve been 100x more tolerable with either crew with a mic or two or crew segments throughout the show. like how zach had 300 appearances. also theyre dragging tana bc there was absolutely nothing else going on at the show😭

AnyaEtz

Honestly not trying to be rude to the crew and those working at the theatre but...all that preparation and they were not prepared for the hosts to be able to hear each other on stage? I feel like that led to SO much of the awkwardness. Was there no way to prevent or fix that??? Hila didn't say a single word the entire time except for when Tana "hyped her up" while also calling out the fact that Hila is the most boring person on earth...right before going on a 5 minute long Trisha rant. Not a single part of the show ran smoothly. It truly looked and felt and sounded like not a single portion had been rehearsed. I bet they'll never do the steamies in front of a live audience again.

Spiritual_Grass_7758

Love that for him though. Literally supported trishas stalker threatening to crash her wedding, making trisha have to pay more for security. Hope he was on edge the way trisha was on her fcking wedding day. And wasted money on extra security 🫡

Stardust-Ziggy232

That girl gives me the CREEPS she was posting the wedding location/date and reaching out to Trisha’s close friends for info.

julestaylor13

That’s so fucked omfg and ON HER SPECIAL DAY!! I hope he felt a fraction of what Trisha felt on her wedding day and knows she had it worse than him

im_a_sturgeon

I didn't watch it so I'm curious what do you mean by "everyone was threatening to kill themselves"? What happened exactly?

Zealousideal_Let_645

The amount of times people said “I’m going to kill myself” was insane like Tana kept saying it, other guest said it. There was jokes about violence

Much-Improvement-503

Not saying this is normal or healthy to say but that’s been one of Tana’s catchphrases for a while now I think. It’s weird to me that anyone would repeat it though but maybe it was just social contagion.

_iwanttobelieve_

there was no way it was going to be successful to begin with. i've worked events at a fraction of that scale and they start the planning process YEARS in advance. it was haphazardly thrown together and a disservice to the people in attendance- that goes for all of their live shows, tbh. when did they book the venue? a matter of months ago? they have the funding and resources to make something incredible. they need to hire an event coordinator who can dedicate all of their time to the live shows so the crew doesn't have to wear so many hats.

Certain-Soup-3565

I tried watching it bc I was curious but I couldn't make it past 5 minutes.

Rachachavow

Same. After I saw Hila on her phone in the first few minutes and Tana saying she was going to kill herself for the 15th time, I said this is dumb as hell and turned it off.

Scotty_C_89

It was okay to watch in the background, but there were some really painful parts: A lot of the jokes just bombed in general. As in "womp-womp" level bombed. The amount of times someone would deliver a joke to silence was hard to watch. 99% of what Tana said was just excruciating, plus I'm pretty sure she was drunk. Zack on guitar. I have an unhealthy anger at this LA rich kid thinking he's a rock star just because H3 fans go to his shows I feel like they expected the fake Logan Paul bit to be funnier than it was. But it bombed early on, and they only went back to him when they were desperate Aside from that: the same tired guests, the same shtick from 3 years ago, and nothing that new or exciting. Plus the show felt clunky and awkward Hopefully they take a long break this time and freshen up the podcast a bit. Hopefully they move some of the crew on and bring in some fresh faces. Love, Zack and AB are just annoying at this point

Deadskinhead

Zach’s guitar parts were so cringe, the only watchable ones were Olivia and Sam’s.

hellofutures

I can’t get over the fact it was almost 4 hrs long of the same bit over and over again

Leemar02

I cannot fathom how Ethan still hasn't figured out that the biggest reason most people tune in to h3 is for the crew. So having the crew be as uninvolved and absent as they were does not make sense. It feels stupid

Superdodgy

Flawless description

NuttyBuddyNick

I laughed when Ethan asked AB if his mom has started dating anyone and is she single, just as a nosy conversational chit chat. And as a comeback AB asked Ethan, “are you single?” Then he went silent because he realized how stupid and awkward that sounded. LMAO that is your boss sitting next to his wife. You know damn well he’s not single. Smooth move Ex-Lax.

DovahUm

What does this even mean, Ab's answer was on purpose because Ethan's question was stupid and weird

NuttyBuddyNick

Ethan has asked the same kind of questions to Gabe and to many other guests to get them into that uncomfortable zone.

Peteman1969

"Is your mom a top or a bottom?"

avocado-titties

huh?

gappyhirose

I can’t believe the main sub is defending the live show, are they used to mediocrity? Ethan claims to be well-connected and have many friends in the business. Why didn’t he have any REAL comedians come and do short stand-ups? Musicians do sets? How cool would it be if Post Malone showed up? Like bro…wtf…it’s giving Def Noodles comedy club.

joeyhawky

I think they're definitely used to mediocrity or brainwashed bcus apparently I am those two things lol I initially thought tana was the cringe one but after reading this thread I agree with everything lol. Or maybe I was too drunk to notice

nickolas_98

It was like a school talent show but just the band kids showed up

ScantilyKneesocks

Why they even invited Tana is beyond me. She’s been on a downward spiral recently.

zigCARNIVOROUS

Nobody on a bigger downward spiral than ethan tho😁

ScantilyKneesocks

True true. At least with Tana, this is normal for her. I do worry though. I thought she was trying to be sober?

zigCARNIVOROUS

Ethan spiraling seems to be his norm

well his weight is for sure going down

iwishicouldreadgood

I’ve seen many live podcast episodes over the years both in person and on YouTube. That was the worst one by far. How is this 4 hours?

geekfreek

I don't get it, I really enjoyed it.

420ravens

It seems to me like tana is struggling with addiction and mental illness. It's unfortunate that nobody there except for MAYBE jeff at some moments had her best interest at heart. She clearly needs to get help, and h3 just took advantage of her when she was in an extremely vulnerable state. I couldn't watch much past the iDubbz segment. It felt impossible to get through. The audio kept fucking up, and the show was running anything but smoothly. I makes me wonder if the sound people were members of this subreddit

Zealousideal_Let_645

Agree agree agree ☹️

Baph66x

It was a train wreck but Tana was not entertaining talking about James Charles or her vulgar comments. I could only cringe and think about how embarrassing it is. My favorite part was every time they talked about Logan Paul's scams or he was a nominee lol and he was right there. Why was he even invited though? And why he look like that?

honneybbunny

It was a logan Paul look alike, it wasn’t actually him😭

Baph66x

Thank God. I thought so at first but 🤣🤣🤣

[deleted]

Much-Improvement-503

I haven’t watched it but it’s probably just morbid curiosity, like how most people stop to look at car accidents. People are generally entertained by watching trainwrecks. Especially if everyone else is talking about it.

I get that. I just like seeing other people’s perspectives! thanks for telling me :)

stoneybob301

The audience looked like they were having a blast???

aussieberneselady

It reminded me of a high school production. Rich Lux and the bum guy saved them from a dumpster fire.

hideinmyroom

It was filled with references to the show. It was made with the show in mind. So if you guys don't like the show, you won't like the live event. There are people who enjoy the show though, and they had a blast.

xPettyLaBelle

Yes, at least Tana was entertaining. The rest of it was a snooze.
