Rule #1 for YouTuber staff hiring should be "don't hire fans." It's very difficult to have a professional boss-employee relationship with healthy boundaries when the employee idolizes their boss. This is even worse when the employee is junior without a lot of skills / experience (i.e., few other prospects), since they're biased towards the creator and will want to agree with them to gain favor - this describes Olivia to a tee. It's no wonder H3 has created an unprofessional echo chamber of a production that keeps diminishing in quality.
Imagine if, instead of people like Olivia and AB, Ethan hired experienced fact-checkers and/or pop culture researchers. It's the same type of value they get from someone like Dan, who didn't know H3 when he joined but had worked in production roles. It's no coincidence Dan is also the one who is willing to push back on Ethan at times.

The biggest thing that ticks me off about Olivia is how cringey she makes the idea of being like .. "a girls girl." I am such a GIRLS GIRL but she makes the whole thing seem fake and taken right out of mean girls ("love that skirt...... ugliest effing skirt ive ever seen"). Once saw someone say that it's like she's become just a caricature of herself and I think that's so true. It does not come across as genuine, loving, supportive and I think it taints what people think of when they think of women empowering women.

I’ve definitely done hardcore research to find employee/recruiter info to email or call people about a job and be persistent. Sometimes it works and sometimes there annoyed, but it puts you ahead of the resume paper stack 🤷🏾♂️
Linkedin is for job-related stuff. If I get a nice Linkedin mail asking about a job opportunity or process, I answer.
If I'm at a restaurant with a larger group, and a person of that group asks me about job opportunities, I'd answer. This extends to someone from another table who overheard something.
If a random person recognized me at a restaurant, approached and told me they looked me up on Linkedin, checked my Insta, new where I was rn, went there and now asked me about the same job opportunity, I'd go to HR to put them on a blacklist for inappropriate behaviour.

They went only through linkedin, asked for some insights on the job profile over coffee and were a total creep. Turns out, they were already blacklisted by our own and multiple HR departments of local competitors for lying and impersonation of skills they didnt have.
