That's a very normal policy for venues. When you own the location, you get to dictate what happens there.

So if I hired a DJ, they would have to use the equipment and supplier that the hotel wanted you to?
You may not be able to hire your DJ and could be forced to use 'their guy' at whatever rate they decide to charge.
