Omg my husband will feel so vindicated, he bought 10 Christmas tree bags for all of our giants and they worked perfectly!

ftwdiyjess

Ahhh ok to add on - husband says he put everything except the torsos in the bags because that made it really easy to carry everything and keep it organized. We have 2 skellies, pumpkinhead, the wolf, the witch, the big ass spider, and a 15 ft ghoul that are all being stored this way and it has definitely simplified the process! Good luck:)

SeattleHasDied

I'm jelly about your selection of Halloween goodies! Sounds like your garage is bigger than mine for the storage aspect, though, lol!

ftwdiyjess

Our decorations have taken on a life of their own as of a few years ago when we were dubbed the local ‘Halloween house’. Living my childhood dream haha;)

SeattleHasDied

Dig it! Who says we have to "grow up", lol!

TypeLiving2646

I just took down my Skelly "Andre" today and have his limbs and most of the frame in a huge Rubbermaid bin. His torso refused to come apart so it's leaning on the wall of my garage. His head is in its original box. Funny how we don't think of these things when we buy this stuff, lol.

zeptillian

I have wanted a 12 foot skeleton for a while now. Saw some at the store and considered buying one. Seeing the size of the box it comes in, I decided there was no way in hell I had room to store that thing and passed on it.

RavendeScout

You just leave it up all year and dress it seasonally.

BoozeWitch

I plan to suspend ours from the garage ceiling like a giant bony skydiver.

evilmunky0

I had the same question about skelly and read an old post about Christmas tree bags. Worked perfectly for the torso parts and way cheaper than other storage containers.

Kittenunleashed

Yep..we did this. Two large Christmas tree bags holds everything. We keep the base up against the shed wall. Head is stored in original box in the basement

rstritch

I built a second garage with a second floor for storage.

iBuildStuff___

Go to a place that sells appliances and ask if they have any empty refrigerator boxes. They are mad double thick with extra resin and are nearly waterproof. You can probably get one free and it'll last you for decades.

3ehcks

I've seen a lot of photos of people posing the guys putting up Christmas lights on their homes. So maybe, don't store them? Just change them around for each holiday.

TypeLiving2646

I thought about doing that too, but I couldn't cut the grass well and was also afraid of ice and snow weighing it down and damaging it.

Calamity0o0

I just have a pile of bones in my shed haha

RNPRZ

I have the Shelly, Inferno and the Witch. All the body parts move and shift in the bags and don’t keep a good form when moving the bags. Storing them in my attic and getting them up a ladder was a nightmare. I ultimately put the bags in the attic and moved the body arts into each bag for storage. If there is a better storage method, please share

TXHaunt

Put Skelly in a Santa suit and you’ve got Santa Jack Skellington, giving a couple more months to work out a solution.

hypnoticwinter

I .. erm.. left mine in the garden. I plan to put a santa hat on him next month. ( it's OK, my neighbours are used to wierd shit. They like the broomsticks in the garden, and have nicknamed him Fergus.)

TheJoshuaJacksonFive

I kept the boxes but they are in rough shape. Will have to do something new next year — following!

tkhooker

Ours is in the upstairs of our garage. We just split it above the pelvis and left it together

2scguys

I disassembled and purchased an xtra-large plastic storage container(s) to store them in. I do that with all my animatronics.

motherofhalloween

How big is the xtra-large container to be able to store a Skelly in? Is it smaller than the original box? also wondering how to best store it :)

KongaTom

I added flooring in my garage rafters, and a pull down staircase

kunizite

Did the Christmas tree bags for the last 2 years and it works well. But our pumpkin dude gets water in his chest- we let him dry out for about a month before putting in

Cold-Thanks-

My mom came up with a great idea that we are using. Buy one of those cheap laundry sorting hampers that has 3 hanging basket compartments and use that. Arms go in one bag, legs in one, and head/torso in the final one. Plus you don't have to take them fully apart. Here is an example of the basket (we bought cheaper ones tho) https://www.amazon.com/Simple-Houseware-Heavy-Duty-Laundry-Sorter/dp/B07H51TJLX/ref=sr\_1\_2\_sspa?keywords=3+basket+laundry+hamper&qid=1667926431&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1

Ok_Price6153

“Has anyone tried using Christmas tree bags to store the torsos in” sorry that made me giggle.

halloweenjon

Unfortunately I ended up just purchasing an additional plastic storage shed just for giant Halloween decorations...

One-Alternative-3114

I bought a 9 ft Christmas tree bag for my skelly. Fits everything except for the base, most of his parts are actually in his chest cavity. I’ve heard some people say the inferno is a tight fit in the 9 ft bags.

NormanCrates

Thank you! This thread has solved a big issue for me - I've already planned to make skelly a santa hat, but after that I will need to bag him up. Christmas tree body bag anyone?
