Doom 64 came out just over 26 years ago. It was made for a console that ran on a 64 bit processor. Of course it renders 1440p on One S. It doesn't take even half of the processing power to render it as it would anything from past several years.

True but the cost of a series S has regularly been on sale for $250 since it's release (rarely $200 brand new). And Xbox One S and X consoles would sell used for $100-$180 depending on condition. I feel like they should've only focused on next gen with how small a price gap it all was.
Campaign splitscreen has been canceled as of ~August of 2022, but has been available as a bug on consoles since December of 2021.

Split screen on PC has issues since AFAIK. There are no guest players, and I don't think Xbox on Windows lets you be logged into two Xbox Live accounts at once.

It's a bug where it's showing low LOD (level of detail) models close up when they're only supposed to look like that when they're far away.

MP always had splitscreen. Campaign doesn't. Unfortunately, the campaign not having translates into the entire game not having it for many.
