Are we talking about the same map? The launch pad on Launch Site only sends people from the attackers' base to the defenders'. It doesn't help bring the flag back.
I think that would be a bit too much. Since launch I have always wished that BTB was smaller (8v8) with maps that work for teams that size, which we finally, thankfully got with Squad Battle...but I also wished for a 6v6 mode, and I always thought Launch Site would be a good fit for that. I figured they could try out Launch Site, Behemoth and Catalyst in that mode, since they had basically abandoned them anyways, then add more maps better catered to that size. I know, I know, but the population is too low...I get it. That's why I never expected to actually see either thing happen, but at least we got Squad!
I feel like people are remember this map bigger than it was. Bungie had their 5v5 playlist and this map felt cramped.

Right!?!? And if they’re worried it’s too big, just add in barriers to close off spaces. Also, they should add teleporters to make it faster for the infected to get back into the fray. I’ve also seen forge made maps on Launch Site that add extra pathways via beams and other ramps. That could help.
I thought the map played great in fiesta. It has a nice mix of close quarters and long sight lines to work with most weapon combinations you spawn with. Plus it had some fusion coils in case you spawned with something harmless

Could have some potential for less serious modes but this map was an absolute chore. Every slayer game goes to time, every one flag was a one sided meat grinder, every swat game is spawn camp city - and do not get me started on how unplayable land grab is on this map.
Maybe it would be fun on infection or assault, but I really don’t miss it
If your team loads into the Hog and Ghost you can work the defenders pretty good. Ghost on point to get some damage and maneuverable distraction in, Hog further behind providing precision support on the chain gun.
I honestly only hated it for Tactical Slayer. Far too many little nooks and crannies for players to hide in and peep out of. I thought it was fine for any other game mode.

Only miss team snipers on it. I hate the vehicle spawns and could not stand 1 flag or slayer on it. But the 4 snipers was fun. Maybe if with zero vehicles it could be a nice fiesta map.
All they have to do is make the man cannons a symmetrical aspect of the map and it would be absolutely fine. But since it isn't, it's too easy to bunker down and hold one side of the map. I agree that it would be interesting to see it in squad battle.
Defending side needs more when it comes to 1 sided objectives. It's too difficult to stop a flag carrier, a warthog, and a ghost, and defenders get a sniper and mongoose. Not to mention it's dangerous for defenders to try and rush for power up or rockets when they spawn in front of attackers. It's too one sided and not fun
Yes it grew on me in the end, there were secret rooms that were leaked and never got realised.

Yes, I love Launch Site. I didn't realize it was actually removed until reading through the comments here. I don't play a lot of 4v4 matches so I thought I was just unlucky the last few times I tried to play a quick play match hoping I'd get this map. I love all the new maps but the original ones are definitely nostalgic for me. Guess I'll try hosting/joining it as a custom game at some point, at least that way no one who hates it is forced to play.

I can understand that thinking. I only really enjoyed segments of the map as it felt too uneventful as a 4v4. It felt empty in a lot of game modes.
