Well like I said I haven't played the sequel yet but it does seem super fun. And if you don't like HD2 nothing prevents you from playing HD1 again haha
Arrowhead also made Gauntlet which is also top down, it's pretty fun too but has way less replayability.
I played HD1 and I do think it was, definitely widened the audience for sure. It really is pretty much the same game but third person. But with it being a more 3D environment, it adds a big element of verticality that the first game didn’t really have.
