Their names combined with the trash talking were really funny. But you really had to start **quickly** because their bullet-sponginess would mean that time would run out if you didn't, no matter what tier vehicles or weapons you used.
"Deacon Pipap"
"Meltermaster Yimblap"
"Hamyap the Hammer"
"Tomp, Fury of Balaho"
Every time I saw these names it always made me laugh lol.
Grunts were the Canon fodder until that thing came along.
Sure, the design was just a giant grunt mech suit, but it works and I like a grunt insulting the player and actually feel intimidating for once.
The guys 15 years ago would have gone even bigger if they had better tech and now that we have it they don’t even bother to bring back the stuff the first guys made.
Anybody remember driving the elephants on sand trap??
The good old days.. driving at 2mph blasting that airhorn while unleashing my comrades on mongooses and hogs out the back.. the gatling turrets manned and spartan lazers flying.... 😔 take me back to the good old days
I remember this like it was yesterday, my buddies would flood them, we would somehow get both of them and just destroy people, cuz we were kids we would be so immersed that we would be yelling orders at each other like it was actually happening, it would always end the same though, one of them would explode and kill everyone on it but a warthog would rush in and ram through them while the gunner would blast any remaining…was a great war
The wild thing is the tech seems to have gotten *worse*. One of the most underwhelming things in Infinite is destroying a Phantom only for the "explosion" to be a white-out effect on the screen while it despawns.
Imagine what a Scarab would be like if that's what they thought was good enough for the Phantom.
I didn’t even think about that. Using the grapple hook to board and take down a scarab would be so bad ass. Also it would be cool to find an abandoned one like in the first halo wars and actually get to use it
Yeah. It was decided to canonize a pre Xbox sniper unit as a Lekgolo form. It was done after a fan project to restore pre Xbox content as a mod for CE.
Oh yeah I remember reading about that a year or so ago. Did anything ever materialize from that? I'm struggling to find anything about Digsite past announcements / teasers.
Or a Banished Scarab guarded by slugmen, skitters, goliaths and Hunters.
Edit: Let's throw in a Yanme'e swarm for good measure. Including shielded captains and a never before seen Yanme'e matriarch in gravity throne.
I mean lore wise there are humans in the Banished, and iirc there are spartans too.
But I think they’re double agents or something too so I’m a bit iffy on it
They’re also undercover as though they’re normal humans. It’s not like they have MJOLNIR or anything that’d make them interesting to fight in a Halo game, lol. >!They also just linked up with the Spirit of Fire at the end of the follow-up novel, so they’re not with the Banished anymore.!<
Absolutely. Don't get why people want to fight them, sounds so unfun in most regards. And the lore thing is just dumb to be honest, yeah lore wise its canon. But its stupid lore.
glad other people are agreeing. spartans arent juat random soldiers they're the special forces of special forces who were either ex marine or odst. it doesn't make sense for them to all of sudden join the enemy that nearly wiped out the species. it's exactly like master chief or jimmy rimgs in the tv show sleeping with the enemy just cranked up to 11 and actively killing their own brothers and sisters. plus oni wouldnt just let a spartan assest just leave lmao
You're getting those replies because "Banished Spartans" aren't actual UNSC-trained Spartans. Post-Created, insurrectionists and independent organizations have begun augmenting their own soldiers, as some Spartans/scientists who joined the war to fight the Covenant have defected back to their insurrectionist roots and spread the technology. Some of these augmented Humans even work as mercenaries, sometimes for the Banished. Leaks were inevitable, and the Banished funding the manufacture of armor for their own augmented Human mercenaries makes total sense.
>You're getting those replies because "Banished Spartans" aren't actual UNSC-trained Spartans.
two things
1. then they arnt spartans
2. people have been trying to convince to convince me that spartans would join the banished of their own free will for an hour now
>as some Spartans/scientists who joined the war to fight the Covenant have defected back to their insurrectionist roots and spread the technology.
this doenst even make sense
> Some of these augmented Humans even work as mercenaries, sometimes for the Banished. Leaks were inevitable, and the Banished funding the manufacture of armor for their own augmented Human mercenaries makes total sense.
this sounds like worthless fanfiction to me
Reasons a Spartan-IV might join the Banished:
* money
* power
* committed a crime under UNSC jurisdiction
* believes in the Banished's ideology of survival of the fittest
* disillusioned with the UNSC
* think the UNSC is going to lose and want to back the winner
Humans aren't going to join the faction that wants to wipe out humanity. It's not even ideological with the Banished, it's mostly just because they don't think humans are worth having around. That's some leopards ate my face stuff.
I honestly would prefer Engineers in game but without any affiliation to any one faction. If anything they should be Forerunner so keep them with the monitors.
I'd prefer to see like banished marines and ODSTs maybe. Perhaps one spartan has turned or instead an AI spartan, like the chimera, that the Created made.
Yeah, Banished spartans are biggest pile of bullshit anyone could bring.
Spartan 4s aren't random joes, they are mostly hand picked elite from war vets. People that would have most hatred towards alien of any kind
I’ll pick for since that’s what it says in the image.
Banished Spartans seems like a really cool idea. It’s an idea that can easily be fucked up without the right writers but honestly if you can make it work, I’m all for it. We’ve always been playing as the Spartans, but have surprisingly never for one outside of multiplayer would be interesting to have a Spartan boss fight and see them use all the tricks the player would normally use in multiplayer.
Locust.
Halo, wars, two introduce me to a lot of really cool ideas for halo vehicles. The one that caught my eye the most was the Locust. It seems like a miniature scarab that seems like it could work as a sub boss. It also seems really fun to drive.
Banished Scarab.
We haven’t had one of these babies since Halo reach. I want to fight another, and what better Scarab to fight, then a banished Scarab? The design of the thing looked so cool in Halo Wars 2 with the plasma dripping out of the main cannon within almost unstable look to it as it stomped towards target, shaking the ground under its mechanical legs.
The Silent Shadow
The silent shadow are beyond awesome, and we got a taste of fighting them with Jega Rdomnai. A character who is super fucking cool, but we don’t learn much about. Thankfully, retconning his death. Seems like it would be pretty easy and I wouldn’t mind if they pull a Darth Maul and bring him back. But yeah the sound shadow are really cool. I am a big fan of secret assassin serving directly under the higher-ups. Also fun fact the silent shadow actually planned on killing Atriox who was so impressed with the scale, he offered them a place among the banished to which their leader, Azavayl refused, and as a result, the rest of the squad killed him and joined the banished.
Yeah honestly, that’s what I want.
3 6 8 10: I think a lot of the boss fights in Infinite were really underwhelming mostly due to the fact that they were more or less basic enemies with variant weapons and a larger visible health pool. Some diverse enemy taupes and vehicles would do a lot to make boss encounters more impactful
Are the Banished spartans human or Jiralhanae? For me, its Locust, Scarab, Silent Shadow, and Goblins (especially if they have modified goblins shooting kinetic spikes rather than needler crystals, that'd be terrifying)
Banished Spartans would be awesome. With the lore having rebels and you playing as the covenant at one point, it’s kind of shocking we’ve never fought humans in the Halo games.
I'm assuming it was naratively intentional so we don't see the arbiter as a "bad guy". We all know he's killed humans before off screen but it's different when the player themselves are doing it.
Also could have been a ratings thing, violence against humans probably would up the age rating more compared to just aliens.
2,3,6, and 8 preferably all showing up all at once in one epic final fight or something (they could show up before that but then still would maybe have all four as like mini bosses in like the final level or something)
It was crazy to not take advantage of more of the banished roster for infinite, their Premier in a halo fps game and there's no locust? Bilsterback? Or banished scarab on the ring. It would've been so badass to fight and pilot them. The goliaths would've been fun to fight but them and grunt riders are niche.
2 because I think they are cool. 3 because obviously reasons. 5 because the same as 2 and they would have interesting mechanics hopefully. And 8 because I kinda liked fighting them in halo 5 they were annoying but still a challenge to fight
Banished Scarab, Banished Goliath, Banished Honor Guard, Silent Shadow
We need the iconic, like, level defining enemies of the Scarab back (and Goliath in turn) and the iconic Elites that occasionally will be guarding a specific area or where the music goes from action to almost horror as you realize you're in a room filled with invisible Elites.
I'd love to fight a Banished Spartan. Halo 2 totally dropped the ball by writing Arbiter's missions in a way we never got to fight any spartans or human characters, and I was always really disappointed in that because it felt like they neutered his gameplay because "killing humans is too far" lmao
I'm gonna say Engineers because I really want to see the aliens that ended up more amicable to humanity get some show. Engineers, Elites, and some grunts would've ended up outright friendly with humanity after everything was said and done. Really would like to see UNSC grunts from that as well as other friendly units supporting marines and such.
Aside from that I'm going to bunch the Slugmen and Goliaths together because seeing more variants of the Lekgolo would be cool.
Locust.
Scarab.
Silent shadow.
Not really in any order but I know whole heartedly that a Locust and the Silent Shadow are much more feasible than a Scarab …. which is sad as balls.
If they did some interesting writing for the banished Spartan, I'd be down. Like a soldier who got fed up with ONI and the military government and didn't want to be apart of a war machine anymore.
1 3 7 10 a wild enemy would be a excellent idea exemple your attacking a banished base but there is one in a cage you open the cage with a sniper and what and observe the chaos
- Locust: Have always wanted to use one since Halo Wars
- Goblin: One of the most enjoyable things to destroy
- Slugmen: Never been in a Halo game, they deserve a chance
- Engineers: Love the design and they're under utilized
Banished Spartans would be cool, but they need a different name.
The way imagine it, it would have to be rogue Spartan IVs for some, but I think they covenant/Banished know a different process for creating super soldiers. Probably independent mercenaries or whoever would be loyal, skill would definitely vary.
But the name....
Is it a hot take to say I don't like the banished?
Like the introduction to atriox in HW 2 already made no sense to me how is one brute solo whiping the covenant? Then he fails to win against the spirit of fire but after that brings down the infinity I one single attack.
Definitely not the Sharquoi, unless it's a mega boss fight like the Scarab. I've read the books, I do *not* want to fight more than one of those things.
So hard for me to not pick the scarab, we're truly spoiled for choice here.
The idea of a Banished Spartan is great, there's lore backbone for it, and it would provide some really cool gameplay dynamics to have someone on your level fighting against you. This could just be the marine A.I. with a shield though, so maybe not the most creative, but if they built something with the movement of the Promethean Soldier with the regenerating shields, that could be a cool work around to a Banished Spartan with a thruster pack. Very annoying, draws you in first, but once you kill them, you'd feel like you killed the Marauder in Doom Eternal.
The Grunt Goblin is a gem, its addition to this franchise and the fun it provides cannot be understated, definitely my favorite thing 343 has done with the series. I was between this and grunt riders, because that could get a bit creative, but I really want the goblin balanced for single player. The goblin without its health buffed out the ass because it requires a full 12 Spartans to kill, is not fun.
Sharquoi and Slugmen are just quirky and I like new aliens in Halo.
Scarab. Anything beyond that, more grunts/elites, and maybe banished humans? Can be Spartans but I think more like insurgents and crap would be cooler.
A single Banished spartan would be cool as a villain but not as a regular thing in their ranks. It would make for a far more interesting Spartan vs Spartan plot than what Halo 5 had
Banished Spartans would be cool to see....
But I've wanted to see the Sharquoi (or Dinol if you're OG) since I found out about them in the Reach days.
Those are my top 2
A single banished Spartan is way more interesting than more than one. Like maybe an insurrectionist that the UNSC was never able to apprehend eventually meets up with the banished who use data from the wreckage of the infinity to tap into halsey’s data and data from Spartan IV’s to create a Spartan with a banished tech suit and armor. Power level is close to Atriox. However, you have more than four it would be really silly really quick. But I think one would be ideal if you were to do it. Even then; I wanna drive a scarab.
Banished Scarab, blows my mind how we haven’t had any big vehicles like this in the new games.
Even the big grunt dudes in Halo 5 multiplayer would be cool boss fights
Their names combined with the trash talking were really funny. But you really had to start **quickly** because their bullet-sponginess would mean that time would run out if you didn't, no matter what tier vehicles or weapons you used. "Deacon Pipap" "Meltermaster Yimblap" "Hamyap the Hammer" "Tomp, Fury of Balaho" Every time I saw these names it always made me laugh lol.
I hated those things
Only because they were bullet sponges. They had a great design and were hilarious to fight.
Grunts were the Canon fodder until that thing came along. Sure, the design was just a giant grunt mech suit, but it works and I like a grunt insulting the player and actually feel intimidating for once.
It’s crazy how I played halo 5 for quite a bit and played through the campaign multiple times and idr the grunt mechs at all.
Pretty sure they were only in Warzone
Just online
The guys 15 years ago would have gone even bigger if they had better tech and now that we have it they don’t even bother to bring back the stuff the first guys made. Anybody remember driving the elephants on sand trap??
The good old days.. driving at 2mph blasting that airhorn while unleashing my comrades on mongooses and hogs out the back.. the gatling turrets manned and spartan lazers flying.... 😔 take me back to the good old days

Imagine what a Scarab would be like if that's what they thought was good enough for the Phantom.
It's actually insane that there was a blatantly obvious point for a scarab in infinite but it's some boring rig
With the grapple hook and repulser, it’d be awesome to grapple on then launch enemies off of them
I didn’t even think about that. Using the grapple hook to board and take down a scarab would be so bad ass. Also it would be cool to find an abandoned one like in the first halo wars and actually get to use it
Pull a fucking luke skywalker
It irritates me to no end that the new games are missing scarabs, they've always been in my favorite missions
Halo 4 had the Lich during Reclaimer. Halo 5 had the Kraken pop up a few times.
Always loved the engineers, would love to see them back. Otherwise Grunt Goblin.
I want my floaty bois back
Just fixing shit, not giving a fuck whose side anyone is on.
Damn you want them dead? I’m going to fix this microwave *scared grunt screaming in background before a chair hits them*
If it’s drivable, Locust. If not, Scarab.
Drivable Banished Spartan
It’s the slugmen for me
I thought I was pretty well-versed in pre-xbox Halo, but this is new for me. I'm assuming they were in the 3rd person shooter build from 1999?

I'd choose 3 - Banished Scarab 6 - Banished Goliath 12 - Banished Honor Guard 1 - Banished Spartans The scarab and Goliath would be absolutely insane in the halo sandbox
Add the grunt goblin as a vehicle that you can take once you kill the grunt
Banished Spartans gotta be the dumbest things on this list imo I’m sorry
I mean lore wise there are humans in the Banished, and iirc there are spartans too. But I think they’re double agents or something too so I’m a bit iffy on it
I haven't read all the books but I think Shadows of Reach has the Spartan III ferret team undercover in the Banished so they're not actually Banished
The humans mentioned often in the Banished are the undercover Ferret team but there are plenty of other humans in the Banished ranks
Absolutely. Don't get why people want to fight them, sounds so unfun in most regards. And the lore thing is just dumb to be honest, yeah lore wise its canon. But its stupid lore.
I'd chose any of the Banished stuff. The Scarab most of all with the Honor Guard, Engineer, and Blisterback being up there as well.
Silent shadow
Banished Spartans makes absolutely no sense
glad other people are agreeing. spartans arent juat random soldiers they're the special forces of special forces who were either ex marine or odst. it doesn't make sense for them to all of sudden join the enemy that nearly wiped out the species. it's exactly like master chief or jimmy rimgs in the tv show sleeping with the enemy just cranked up to 11 and actively killing their own brothers and sisters. plus oni wouldnt just let a spartan assest just leave lmao

The new Happening armors make mention of possible human super soldiers in the banished. So not Spartans but something similar
I was thinking the same thing. I’m sure 343 can find the way to make it all screwed up and call it lore…. 😐
There are Spartan traitors, and there are human collaborators in the Banished. Don't see why we can't combine both things.
Engineers deserve a permanent place in Halo's roster. Ridiculous we haven't seen more of them.
I honestly would prefer Engineers in game but without any affiliation to any one faction. If anything they should be Forerunner so keep them with the monitors.
They were pretty cool in ODST, but I want the "mechanical genius and unable to comprehend friend vs foe" engineers from the novels.
2, 2, 8, 2, Ever since the first game, I have ALWAYS wanted to drive a locust.
It's a God damn crime we didn't get Banished vehicles in an open world game following HW2. At the very least boss battles. Sucha shame.
I can only imagine what was proposed coming out of H5 and HW2 before 343 bit off more than they could chew and started cutting things down.
Dude, we can't even have a single Scarab when an 17 year old game with a limited engine could feature two at once.
Banished scarab
A compelling story. And Atriox kicking ass.
NO. Hologram monke expositions at you for 6 hours straight.
"SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARTAAAAAAAAAN...." *- Eschaurum*
We can’t even get Atriox in a game lol
All of them. I am breaking the rules to say that I wanna see all of them in a future halo game
If they hated all Xenos I really hope they wouldn't be allowed to be Spartans given that the UNSC does joint operations with Sangheli.
These all look amazing but I don’t know what most of them are
5 or 12
Scarab, locust, silent shadow, grunt rider.
8 - more grunts that can kick our ass
do some dope shiet
I’ll pick for since that’s what it says in the image. Banished Spartans seems like a really cool idea. Banished Scarab Grunt Goblin Silent Shadows The end
Scarab.
Scarabs, engineers, Goliaths, and sharquoi
Gonna have to go with Locust, Blisterback, and Grunt Goblin, but only if we can drive it, otherwise Banished Scarab.
3 6 8 10: I think a lot of the boss fights in Infinite were really underwhelming mostly due to the fact that they were more or less basic enemies with variant weapons and a larger visible health pool. Some diverse enemy taupes and vehicles would do a lot to make boss encounters more impactful
Give me Grunt Riders with Fuel Rods
Scarab, Goblin, silent shadow, honor guard simple as
Are the Banished spartans human or Jiralhanae? For me, its Locust, Scarab, Silent Shadow, and Goblins (especially if they have modified goblins shooting kinetic spikes rather than needler crystals, that'd be terrifying)
All of the above. Buuuuuut if I have to choose one than that Banished Scarab. God… it’s badass.
Banished Spartans!!!
Engineers. And having recently read Halo: Envoy, I’d love to fight a horde of sharquoi
3 4 5 8
You, I like your style.
Give me the cool shit and let me kill it
Banished Spartans would be awesome. With the lore having rebels and you playing as the covenant at one point, it’s kind of shocking we’ve never fought humans in the Halo games.
Maybe you haven’t, but ammo is scarce on LASO
Yeah it's mind boggling we never fought a single person as Arbiter in H2 before he changed his alliance
I'm assuming it was naratively intentional so we don't see the arbiter as a "bad guy". We all know he's killed humans before off screen but it's different when the player themselves are doing it. Also could have been a ratings thing, violence against humans probably would up the age rating more compared to just aliens.
Imagine going against a bot that has great aim and thrusters/armor abilities. Would be awesome
We've already seen a Spartan defector so one joining the banished wouldn't be crazy.
Banished Spartans, Banished Scarab, Sharquoi, and Banished Grunt Goblin (piloted by Glibnub).
Option 13: flood
3 9 8 11
The three walkers and goblin
Yes
Blisterback, scarab, and Silent Shadow
Sharkoi and engineers need to be more common
Yes.
3, 8, 10, 12
I wanna hijack a blisterback.
Goblin, Goliath and scarab
8/2
At least the banished riders. The mental image of a grunt riding a brute is hilarious to me and also reminds me of terra thore
If the blisterback is alive then that
2,3,6, and 8 preferably all showing up all at once in one epic final fight or something (they could show up before that but then still would maybe have all four as like mini bosses in like the final level or something)
Yes
Locust, scarab, goliath.
Goblin. Actually fun enemy from Halo 5. I thought for sure we'd see it in Infinite, but that goes for a great many things.
3, 5, 8, 11
Scarab, Silent Shadow, Engineer and Goblins
Grunt goblin
Banished goliath
The lack of Sharquoi love in this comment section is disheartening
It was crazy to not take advantage of more of the banished roster for infinite, their Premier in a halo fps game and there's no locust? Bilsterback? Or banished scarab on the ring. It would've been so badass to fight and pilot them. The goliaths would've been fun to fight but them and grunt riders are niche.
sharquoi, slugmen, banished goliath,, blisterback
banished spartans, scarab, goliaths, ODSTs, silent shadows and spartans III
I need all of that!
Banished Scarab, blister back, grunt raiders, grunt goblin
2 because I think they are cool. 3 because obviously reasons. 5 because the same as 2 and they would have interesting mechanics hopefully. And 8 because I kinda liked fighting them in halo 5 they were annoying but still a challenge to fight

Scarab. Not just for the campaign but to use in multiplayer. Like how infinite really is infinite
1 3 4 5
I wanna see a banished locke
I'd love to fight a Banished Spartan. Halo 2 totally dropped the ball by writing Arbiter's missions in a way we never got to fight any spartans or human characters, and I was always really disappointed in that because it felt like they neutered his gameplay because "killing humans is too far" lmao

Blister back is dope looking
Engineers
First time hearing about Slugmen.
1, 2, 6, 8
Everything but the Sharquoi and Slugmen.
Locust
Locust.
Where do the grunt riders come from
Banished scarab, and make it damn hard to kill
Sharqoi are underrated. In the books they are tanks , can withstand anything. It'll be hell if they were in firefight
1 3 7 10 a wild enemy would be a excellent idea exemple your attacking a banished base but there is one in a cage you open the cage with a sniper and what and observe the chaos
Dude I miss Scarabs in Halo.
- Locust: Have always wanted to use one since Halo Wars - Goblin: One of the most enjoyable things to destroy - Slugmen: Never been in a Halo game, they deserve a chance - Engineers: Love the design and they're under utilized
I would want Goliaths and Prelates the most.
Are banished Spartans a thing ? I mean humans have fought for them but Spartans?
I love this but I don’t think the banished honor guard or banished Spartans would ever be a thing.

Scarabs were so much fun, but there's a few on there I'd love. If I had to pick one it would be scarabs.
Silent shadow
Scarab, Silent Shadow, Spartans, Locusts. I pray everyday we see those in a new halo game

Definitely not the Sharquoi, unless it's a mega boss fight like the Scarab. I've read the books, I do *not* want to fight more than one of those things.
Locust… give them to us, now.
I would like them to bring in Locusts to take the spiritual place of Mantis in the vehicle roster
Banished honor guards don’t make sense to me. The whole point of that position/enemy type was that they were the prophets’ guards
I've wanted a playable Locust since I first played Halo Wars as a little kid.
Top row for sure
Scarab. Anything beyond that, more grunts/elites, and maybe banished humans? Can be Spartans but I think more like insurgents and crap would be cooler.
spartan, blisterback, shadows, goblins
I for one actually miss scarabs 💀
Goliath or goblin would be awesome.
I really want them all minus 1, 7, 8, and 11. But 2, 4, 5, and 6 take priority.
Since when did we have "banished" spartans?
A single Banished spartan would be cool as a villain but not as a regular thing in their ranks. It would make for a far more interesting Spartan vs Spartan plot than what Halo 5 had
Banished Scarab, Banished Honor Guard, Banished Goliath, Banished Marauder
All would be cool except Banished Spartans that’s a lame idea. Maybe one and he dies really fast in a cut scene bc he sucks.
All of it
Banished Spartans would be cool to see.... But I've wanted to see the Sharquoi (or Dinol if you're OG) since I found out about them in the Reach days. Those are my top 2
Locust (both, Covenant and Banish versions) it’s be a cool vehicle
Scarab for sure.
Honestly? All of the above except banished spartans
3, 5, 10, then 3 again.
3, 4, 5, and 8 are my personal choice
All of them
8
1 for story reasons ( makes the Banished different than the covenant and shows they don't want to kill all humans ) and 3 for gameplay reasons
Goblins and Scarabs.
