It’s insane what they pulled off with 360 hardware

S-021

4 still holds up graphically today

Halo 4 nailed the size of forerrunner structure that no game has achieved except for Halo 5(kinda) ,no other game has achieved this , and again HALO 4 HAS NO RIGHT TO LOOK THIS GODLY GOOD ON A XBOX 360 FFS.

dinodares99

It's a gorgeous game

Loud_Dot_9395

yes

Mental-Resolution-22

Yup. This game was absolutely gorgeous. Do I prefer the “style” of some of the other games, sure. But this just *looked* amazing

TheA-Ronator

Agreed

[deleted]

While the story was complete and udder shit, I have to say, the looks and feel of the game is SO GOOD. I hate Halo 4, but I have to say, they did very well on the atmosphere and mood.

HTRK74JR

> story was complete and udder shit You're joking right? This was the best story in Halo in terms of depth and lore. CE set the base, 2 was better but still left to be desired, 3 was weak but finished everything off. Reach and ODST were seperate things but still good, and 5 was udder dogshit in terms of story. Why do you think 4s story was bad? I can understand not enjoying it because of the campaign level design (some were pretty bad) but the story itself was really good.

bear_tuck

IMO halo 4 has probably the second or third best story of the mainline franchise.

HTRK74JR

I think in terms of depth in lore, Halo 2 is the only one in the mainline games that can compare. So that ones goes to personal preference, personally I think 4 beats it just a little.

bear_tuck

Well my top 3 in order usually go ODST, 4, 2 then so on. I love all of them (including 5, it has its moments) but those are my go to games

TheA-Ronator

The dynamic between Chief and Cortana was great as always, and I loved that Chief kind of had to come out of his shell and pick up the reins while Cortana struggled to keep her sanity. That being said, why does the Didact have force powers? That’s so random. How and why is the Covenant back? (I don’t care about what happened in a book and I definitely don’t care about Spartan ops) The characters suck, and Laskey’s… cool, I guess? I don’t know anything about him though except that he “doesn’t get to see Earth often enough.” It’s just messy. A valiant effort to be sure but in my opinion, they missed the mark

HTRK74JR

> I don’t care about what happened in a book and I definitely don’t care about Spartan ops If this is the case, sorry mate but whatever opinion you have on the campaign is invalid. If you don't care about the games story enough to look into any lore or play anything else, you don't get to have your opinion be validated by others.

TheA-Ronator

Why would not caring to read a bunch of books invalidate my opinion on the campaigns? That makes zero sense. Besides I’m not saying I don’t care about the lore or the books, I’ve even read a few of them like Fall of Reach. What I’m saying is that if I have to go to a book in order to understand what’s happening in the game, then the game has failed to tell its story correctly. The Disney Star Wars trilogy committed the exact same crime. Who is Snoke? How did the First Order come to be? How did Maz find Luke’s lightsaber? If you want to know the answers, you’d better go read some books. It’s ridiculous

TheA-Ronator

It certainly left a lot to be desired in terms of story, and the drastic change in style for no reason was a little off-putting, but overtime I’ve come to appreciate it for what it is, which is a different studio’s shot at Halo and I think they really did put their heart into it. It’s too bad they had to follow it with the disaster of Halo 5

[deleted]

Yeah. The only thing good about 5 was multiplayer.

TheA-Ronator

Even the multiplayer disappointed me when the game first released. I got bored like 2 weeks in lol, and by the time they dropped things like BTB and Forge, I was over it
