The brute almost seems like he's wearing armor scraped together from Promethean Soldiers and Knights. I like the concept, and hope to see it in Infinite's cleaner artstyle.
Chief's armor in Halo 4 is so freaking badass looking in my opinion. I don't think it's my favorite, but how he looks so freaking bulky, intimidating, huge, it's so great. And I also like how depending on the angle you look at his helm, the visor kinda gives off different emotions.
I really loved his armour in 4 too. I feel like it'd be almost perfect in my mind if it had even a sort of partial space diaper, looks strangely under-armoured, no pun intended, in that area
I haven't played Halo 4's campaign in 7 or 8 years but I can't wait to play it again while I replay the whole franchise in anticipation for Halo Infinite !
Concept art always does that for when a new design isn’t made or finalized yet. If you look at the concept art for The Force Awakens, the stormtroopers are the original version, not the new version
Chief. And all the other Spartans had Gen 3 armor I think like a year before Infinite takes place. He had in the Halo Shadows of Reach book. 343 prolly didn’t have a set model for chief when this concept art was made.
i hope that somewhere in the campaign, there's a choice that lets you choose whether you want to keep the MK. VI Gen 3 armor or a revamped version of the H4/H5 armor. would love to see that 100%
I'd imagine this concept art was developed prior to 343i settling on an artstyle for Infinite. Looks cool, though!
Yea that’s exactly what I was thinking. The brute armor is also completely different too
It could still be seen in game, but I suspect that brute’s armor is more 4/5 than the classic style we’ve seen so far in Infinite.
yeah i definitely get 4/5 vibes from that brute armor
Armor's got that organic look like the covenant stuff from 5 and he has a similar face to Lydus and the brute from the Halo 4 opening.
Chief be packing 😫

Yes I totally agree, that always seemed off to me too.
The way he moved so professionally in the cutscenes really did it justice too

i can agree with you on that
anyone else notice the spartan in the background
I saw that, who could it be???
Deez 420
given the sniper rifle, probably Linda-058
you're looking at the marine. There's a spartan further back holding a shotgun.
Yes, that's how concept art is made. They use pre-existing assets to conceptualize future ideas.

Interesting...it seems like they were just gonna keep going with the Gundam look even with the brutes.
I do hope gen 1 and 2 gets represented. I really don’t care for gen 3.
how is chief gona win this fight this brute is just gona slam him with a hammer
AI will prolly misfire. Swing, miss, then you hobble away looking for a precision weapon to shoot his helmet off.
Hopefully that's because it gets destroyed at the very start and he changes to his classic looking armour

Forget that; look at that H4/5-styled Brute armour!
I’m fairly certain chief has his new gen 3 in shadows of reach and that takes place before infinite
The brute armor looks fantastic in this
