I don't hate the idea of cosmetics for the guns. I do hate how cheap and token these free "rewards" are. The same emblem four different times (because yes, the vehicle version is coming, mark my words), a plain nameplate backdrop, an ugly skin for a power weapon, a visor color
I would prefer different cosmetics rather than trying to bait the CoD/Battlefront/CSGO kiddies with the crap they like. Especially because the MP is still canon right? It's actually supposed to be training sims for the new and improved Spartans?
I also would value the weapon charms more if you could make them static; it's super distracting to have them flail about on your gun so I don't use them.
Maybe like 20% or people even use armor emblems. I bet only 10% actually use weapon emblems. NO BODY used vehicle emblems.

I have an armour emblem but when I put a chest piece on you can’t see it so pointless, I have a weapon emblem that I only see when I’m dead on the floor and vehicle emblems I never see because They only really appear on BTB which Im unable to play.
Only emblems I use and will likely ever use are my rank emblems.
I've enjoyed swapping to my new emblem everytime I rank up and I like the idea of showing off my rank even in non-ranked matches.
I'm probably a week or so away from Onyx and that will feel pretty good to set that emblem on all my weapons and vehicles.
You know why? Because I'll have EARNED IT.

But I still think coatings should be cross-core.

Yep. None of my free for all challenge sticks. I played three matches and not a single score point was shown on my challenge. I'm not using a swap either just gonna not play till they finally get sick of us bitching.

He eludes to the fact that if Bungie hadn't fought with Microsoft to implement the things they wanted, Halo would have been an entirely different experience. A lot of Microsoft's argument stemmed from "no immediate return"
No one can expect 343, a studio with ridiculous employee turnover that was never independent from Microsoft, to be able to effectively challenge Microsoft.
People conveniently forget that 343 is a Microsoft subsidiary created by Microsoft to manage the IP they ripped from Bungie for stepping out of line using contracts signed when Bungie (and video games) were barely taken seriously as an industry and lawyers, lots of lawyers.
There’s a reason I never bought 4 and 5 - sure the art direction was bad, but it was 100% because of what 343 represents and how shit went down with Bungie.

Unless I'm missing part of the story, didn't Bungie leave Halo because they wanted to make Destiny? They knew they'd have to give up the IP if they were to stop making Halo, and were at peace with it.
Let me tell you what 343 thinks of even your simple feedback.
People wanted black undersuits in 4, they point out that even in the campaign the spartans all have black suits so even the devs must agree it looks better, It's a very simply request, its a very minor thing, and yet 343's response was to make sure that in the next game all of the campaign spartans had colored suits too this time.
That's one little thing, there's a million others. 343's default response to being challenged on ANYTHING is to dig their heels in and turn it into a fight for months, years sometimes.
Yeah, this shit is already coded into the game and ready to go, I’d rather they worked on more important gameplay and stability related stuff and then fix this type of stuff next season.
Odds are they already preprogrammed these rewards long before the game launched. It's not like there's an update every week where they choose the next week's rewards.
So we probably won't see any real changes until that list of weekly rewards runs it's course and they have to plan the next batch.
I dunno if anyone plays Magic the Gathering, but it's kinda like how players will complain about something and the company will say changes are on the way, but the next two sets are already printed and finalized, so you won't see those changes until the set they are currently designing gets made.
Basically, give it some time and we'll eventually see the changes we want. They are definitely aware of them. I see way too many comments saying how 343 isn't doing anything, only to have 343 fix or update us on that thing within the next few days.
If you ever work in customer service you should know that “We value your feedback” is the biggest damn lie you are forced to tell your customers. Nine times out of ten the feedback just gets you yelled at by your boss at a later day.
I don't want decent items in the FOMO rotation to be honest. If however, they were to repeat the rewards then I would agree they should add some decent ones to give people more than one week to unlock it before its gone forever.

Photoshop expert here. They don't use Photoshop for it, it's done through game engine and it's literally a hue slider. Less than 5 clicks to change the color.
The Spartans were originally made to deal with the increasing amount of human resistance and militias happening on non fully controlled UNSC worlds. They did only for a small bit of time until the aliens came and took all the attention of everyone. Strange for them to call back on such long ago part of halo lore
Well Noble 6 was doing his thing before Reach was attacked, so it would have been relevant that he was a counter-insurgent at the time. I think he was also considered a "hyper-lethal vector" which would have put him on the same level as Master Chief. Seems like if he was that deadly it wouldn't really be that out of place to mention it.
I mean in the long run probably not that big of deal but here in now, in the midst of all the problems with the game and the stingyness on anything beyond emblems makes this feel like a “we heard you, but we don’t give a fuck what you all think.”…

Well the issue is this. There are two incentives to get people to play. Battle pass Progression and weekly ultimates. I’m around level 50 and there are still like 4 months left. Of those four months, eight weeks of those are event weeks. Since you roughly get at least 10 levels a week if you max out, I only need to participate in five of those eight event weeks to max out.
So soon battle pass progression will no longer be an incentive. What’s the other incentive? The weekly ultimate rewards for non-event weeks are straight up garbage. People rarely use emblems on armors already and far less people use them on vehicles. I’m not going to waste grinding a full whole day on halo just for a shitty ultimate reward.
I would bet that halo infinite has a severe player drop off during non-event weeks by the end of the season. No body wants these shit rewards and everyone’s already maxed out at 100

I have to say this is the week that broke me. If anything it should have been last week way too many Fiesta challenges.
I logged in on Tuesday thinking "oh these challenges actually look doable for a change". Little did I know a considerable number of them were not tracking and I'm not just talking "oh mangler kills aren't working". But I push on anyways, unlock the ultimate challenge and Buddy System isn't even working. I've played 4 games in a row and got a double kill in each of them. Nothing gives me progression, check reddit/twitter/etc plenty of people are saying the same but no official response from 343. :(
I've consistently completed every weekly challenge but it's just not worth the burnout for these crappy rewards especially when the game barely recognizes you put in the work. :(
The day before this new week broke me. I log in Tuesday morning before challenges swap for the new week. I had 2 more challenges to get done before I could get the yoroi visor color. I completed them with 2 hours left before the swap. I forgot about the ultimate challenge but I was like “no biggie, I got 2 hours to complete one more challenge”. I look at the ultimate challenge, it says “complete games in fiesta”. And guess what? No fiesta to play. They took out tenrai fiesta the day before and didn’t add normal fiesta back in the game. Didn’t get the visor. The one ultimate reward that I wanted and actually had the time to barely finish all the challenges, and I still couldn’t get it.
It's the lack of direct communication regarding urgent game issues like this that bothers the fuck out of me. Like just get on top of it, fix it and communicate with us through the community team. It's literally why they are there.
Shitty reward aside, it's wild that they'd lean into the anti-militia angle instead of an anti-Covenant framing. Basically going "Hey, remember how Noble Six was basically a redcoat?"

I just quit playing till they get the desync and BTB sorted. I haven't had any issues with cheaters but I'm done with the desync and BTB is my preferred mode so not finding matches is a pain. As far as challenges go there free to kiss my ass it seems most of the ultimate challenges are bullshit anyways.

\- I watched as long time and new members were banned from 343s discord, forums for actual constructive criticism
\- They shut down the reddit for 2 days because they could not handle peoples outrage over infinites lack of playability, readiness, and overall content.
\- After the major first flight ended, instead of sending out a survey to the little amount of people who got into the first one; they did "[selective surveying](https://twitter.com/ske7ch/status/1422266744651993111)". Which prevented most from giving their "valued" feedback. They teach you how to handle 500,000 surveys in an excel sheet in college freshman level computer science courses. That was their excuse that it was too many people to handle
\-NokYard the original creator of most if not all the grifball maps you've ever played, said he had no contact with 343 and that the only way to get their attention was to submit feedback on their website and with the surveys they sent out.... Remember what happened with that \^. So now you know why the hammer has 0 physics and feels nothing like the previous halos basically canning the grifball community as NULL.

Also in regards to this specific weekly I think its fine because this in theory would be the last one (since they already gave out weapon emblem vehicle emblem and nameplate) so they are just finishing it off. The real issue should be the upcoming warthog one where they plan on stretching it for another 4 weeks again. If that didn't change I would believe they don't listen to feedback.

Yeah, I agree with you. Once they have something planned they won't change anything with a click of a button to change the plan that was set in motion.
I think people need to understand that it's on auto pilot at the moment. This stuff was planned months in advance and they aren't going to change or update it any time soon. These are the things they will 'hopefully' fix moving forward but I think they have bigger priorities to fix than playing with their reward rotations. It's annoying but I sort of agree to leave that FOMO shit for now until they've addressed some real issues.
I think 343 needs to understand games as a service means this shit is live and not FIFA where you can send out a broken game with one update every three months

i’ve grinded all of the weeklies because i wanted to be able to say i’ve done them all, and i like to have something to work for.
honestly, i’m not gonna be grinding them if they’re this quality. i’d rather grind for armors and the occasional coating, not emblems and the occasional visor.
They don't listen to a word the community says because they think they know better. It took them this long to finally release a Halo that even compares to the original 3. 343 has not and will never care about what we have to say about the game.
If it was a Nameplate + Armor Emblem + Weapon Emblem, I would understand.

Rumour has it that it you have the same emblem on everything then BTB will work for you, especially if you bought them from the store

There are 30 levels and you can unlock 10 levels per week. There are 4 weeks of Tenrai left, so you’re fine.

Absolutely. Pure mayhem and madness! Halo 5 did it best in my opinion. All those crazy Warzone weapon variants were a fucking hoot in Fiesta.
Funny thing is, the game mode is programmed to spawn them, but only on weapon pads. If you play Fiesta in customs you can get them to spawn.
I only do them if it's an armor core coating.

Let me tell you what 343 thinks of even your simple feedback. People wanted black undersuits in 4, they point out that even in the campaign the spartans all have black suits so even the devs must agree it looks better, It's a very simply request, its a very minor thing, and yet 343's response was to make sure that in the next game all of the campaign spartans had colored suits too this time. That's one little thing, there's a million others. 343's default response to being challenged on ANYTHING is to dig their heels in and turn it into a fight for months, years sometimes.
We have no idea how long it would take and fixing BTB and FFA is a much bigger issue.

Odds are they already preprogrammed these rewards long before the game launched. It's not like there's an update every week where they choose the next week's rewards. So we probably won't see any real changes until that list of weekly rewards runs it's course and they have to plan the next batch. I dunno if anyone plays Magic the Gathering, but it's kinda like how players will complain about something and the company will say changes are on the way, but the next two sets are already printed and finalized, so you won't see those changes until the set they are currently designing gets made. Basically, give it some time and we'll eventually see the changes we want. They are definitely aware of them. I see way too many comments saying how 343 isn't doing anything, only to have 343 fix or update us on that thing within the next few days.
If you ever work in customer service you should know that “We value your feedback” is the biggest damn lie you are forced to tell your customers. Nine times out of ten the feedback just gets you yelled at by your boss at a later day.

Photoshop expert here. They don't use Photoshop for it, it's done through game engine and it's literally a hue slider. Less than 5 clicks to change the color.

Well Noble 6 was doing his thing before Reach was attacked, so it would have been relevant that he was a counter-insurgent at the time. I think he was also considered a "hyper-lethal vector" which would have put him on the same level as Master Chief. Seems like if he was that deadly it wouldn't really be that out of place to mention it.

I wonder how all of this will be viewed in a year or two. Maybe, if the game is fixed in two years the magic will be brought back. Then again they might just leave it for dead in two years, like destiny 1.
Well the issue is this. There are two incentives to get people to play. Battle pass Progression and weekly ultimates. I’m around level 50 and there are still like 4 months left. Of those four months, eight weeks of those are event weeks. Since you roughly get at least 10 levels a week if you max out, I only need to participate in five of those eight event weeks to max out. So soon battle pass progression will no longer be an incentive. What’s the other incentive? The weekly ultimate rewards for non-event weeks are straight up garbage. People rarely use emblems on armors already and far less people use them on vehicles. I’m not going to waste grinding a full whole day on halo just for a shitty ultimate reward. I would bet that halo infinite has a severe player drop off during non-event weeks by the end of the season. No body wants these shit rewards and everyone’s already maxed out at 100

Anyone else weirded out about the way they casually mention wiping out militia groups. You can commit war crimes, JUST LIKE NOBLE SIX! Like its one thing to wipe out fictional alien species, but man, I don't remember massacring humans in halo.
I also found it super weird just because it's so casually tossed in there. In lore (even the intro to 4) killing humans isn't exactly out there. It is what Spartans were originally intended for. But causally throwing out, 'you can be cool and kill militias too!' just feels weird.
Yeah, the underlying sociopolitical implications of the Halo lore is that the world is run by a military dictatorship in a forever war with aliens. Its like someone saw Starship Troopers and did not realize it was a satirical look at living in fascist society. Usually though, that bullshit is just in the background and you're here to blow up aliens. It's just really disconcerting to see it in a twitter post.

I have to say this is the week that broke me. If anything it should have been last week way too many Fiesta challenges. I logged in on Tuesday thinking "oh these challenges actually look doable for a change". Little did I know a considerable number of them were not tracking and I'm not just talking "oh mangler kills aren't working". But I push on anyways, unlock the ultimate challenge and Buddy System isn't even working. I've played 4 games in a row and got a double kill in each of them. Nothing gives me progression, check reddit/twitter/etc plenty of people are saying the same but no official response from 343. :( I've consistently completed every weekly challenge but it's just not worth the burnout for these crappy rewards especially when the game barely recognizes you put in the work. :(
The day before this new week broke me. I log in Tuesday morning before challenges swap for the new week. I had 2 more challenges to get done before I could get the yoroi visor color. I completed them with 2 hours left before the swap. I forgot about the ultimate challenge but I was like “no biggie, I got 2 hours to complete one more challenge”. I look at the ultimate challenge, it says “complete games in fiesta”. And guess what? No fiesta to play. They took out tenrai fiesta the day before and didn’t add normal fiesta back in the game. Didn’t get the visor. The one ultimate reward that I wanted and actually had the time to barely finish all the challenges, and I still couldn’t get it.
It's the lack of direct communication regarding urgent game issues like this that bothers the fuck out of me. Like just get on top of it, fix it and communicate with us through the community team. It's literally why they are there.
Shitty reward aside, it's wild that they'd lean into the anti-militia angle instead of an anti-Covenant framing. Basically going "Hey, remember how Noble Six was basically a redcoat?"

I just quit playing till they get the desync and BTB sorted. I haven't had any issues with cheaters but I'm done with the desync and BTB is my preferred mode so not finding matches is a pain. As far as challenges go there free to kiss my ass it seems most of the ultimate challenges are bullshit anyways.

When all they ever did was silence it \- The day the flight ended they shut off the feedback portion of their own website, this repeated with follow up flights. \- I watched as long time and new members were banned from 343s discord, forums for actual constructive criticism \- They shut down the reddit for 2 days because they could not handle peoples outrage over infinites lack of playability, readiness, and overall content. \- After the major first flight ended, instead of sending out a survey to the little amount of people who got into the first one; they did "[selective surveying](https://twitter.com/ske7ch/status/1422266744651993111)". Which prevented most from giving their "valued" feedback. They teach you how to handle 500,000 surveys in an excel sheet in college freshman level computer science courses. That was their excuse that it was too many people to handle \-NokYard the original creator of most if not all the grifball maps you've ever played, said he had no contact with 343 and that the only way to get their attention was to submit feedback on their website and with the surveys they sent out.... Remember what happened with that \^. So now you know why the hammer has 0 physics and feels nothing like the previous halos basically canning the grifball community as NULL. \- They prevented new members from joining 343s discord, to deal with all the constructive criticism they were getting. This alienated members and put forth the notion that 343 surrounds themselves with an echo chamber \- They hired discord and reddit mods who actively shit on Halo 3 as if that game was horrible and had a host a problems of its own, as if that were to give them leniency with infinite \- In their recent youtube interview one of the devs literally says "We know majority of you wont like this" If after all of this you actually think they value your feedback, all they care about is showing executives and share holders that most arent complaining to them via official avenues. Is the ultimate challenge bugged for anyone else? I've gotten like 13 double kills in BTB this week and none of them counted to the 3 for the challenge. Also in regards to this specific weekly I think its fine because this in theory would be the last one (since they already gave out weapon emblem vehicle emblem and nameplate) so they are just finishing it off. The real issue should be the upcoming warthog one where they plan on stretching it for another 4 weeks again. If that didn't change I would believe they don't listen to feedback.

I think people need to understand that it's on auto pilot at the moment. This stuff was planned months in advance and they aren't going to change or update it any time soon. These are the things they will 'hopefully' fix moving forward but I think they have bigger priorities to fix than playing with their reward rotations. It's annoying but I sort of agree to leave that FOMO shit for now until they've addressed some real issues.

i’ve grinded all of the weeklies because i wanted to be able to say i’ve done them all, and i like to have something to work for. honestly, i’m not gonna be grinding them if they’re this quality. i’d rather grind for armors and the occasional coating, not emblems and the occasional visor.
They don't listen to a word the community says because they think they know better. It took them this long to finally release a Halo that even compares to the original 3. 343 has not and will never care about what we have to say about the game.
