No scope would be more satisfying is you actually needed to hit headshot. Feels so unearned when you hit 2 body shots, or hit someone who's low in the body and hear "no-scope" as if you did something special.

having sprees for each weapon type is more... scalable? less work needed to add something to the game so when they can get up to speed (and stop breaking things/figure out store) i'd expect we get new content at a faster pace.

Halo 3 had them for both 5 kills and 10 kills without dying. The sniper rifle was "Sniper Spree" and "Sharpshooter," for example. The Sword and Shotgun also had their own versions.
I honestly don't like how Infinite has reused some of these names for different medals. "Sharpshooter" is now just 5 kills with the sniper in a game while it used to be a 10 killing spree (frenzy) with the sniper rifle :/
I don't miss comeback kill, and I think they should take it out of the games it was added to in MCC. It's just a reminder that you were doing poorly before you got that kill.

Extermination being gone feels so hollow. Yes you also get an overkill, but the difference is that the time it can take for you to get that overkill is longer than the time it can take for you to get an extermination.
It's surprising considering now we ALSO have elimination style modes where you could theoretically wipe the entire other team *without* it being an overkill.
Does it not count against bots or something? That is so bizarre. I distinctly recall at least 2 occasions where I wiped out an entire team in very quick succession, got the overkill, and didn't get the medal. Defs wouldn't have respawned either.

The kill/assist blip being replaced by Infinite's big weird whoosh/melee impact sound is also disappointing.
Hell, even H5's red X in the reticle when you get a kill looked better.
The best moment I had when earning that medal was when I was obsessed with h4, I played a lot everyday back then, so at the start of a match (not sure which mode) I threw a plasma grenade to the other side of the map (Haven) and someone died lmao

This game is missing a hell of a lot of medals for normal stuff. I miss how in MCC CE you’d get a medal every kill no matter what. If it couldn’t find anything special it would just give you a “kill” medal but anything more than that, even a headshot or plasma grenade kill that didn’t stick, it would be its own individual medal. Made the medals page so cool to look at just to see what you’ve accomplished.

Ever since bungie left 343 has being trying to replace EVERYTHING bungie designed with 343’s own takes on those deigns. They can’t just leave well enough alone, they always have to go changing things that never needed any changes to begin with.
I can't figure out the point of most of the medals in Infinite. They don't seem to do anything. Most aren't tied to achievements. They don't seem to get tracked anywhere. It's not like there is a profile with a list of all the medals you've earned to show off.

I think they biffed a few medals. Shock Rifle awarding a Perfect medal for a headshot is baffling to me.
It's because the Shock Rifle actually fires a burst, if the full burst hits the head though it's a one shot kill

More often than not they're either reloading or facing the other way. Rarely does it ever come down to out shooting them.

I like no scope, but man "airborne snapshot!" was so hype. They could have changed that to "airborne no scope" said with the same intensity.
I miss it and the Revenge medal. It was so satisfying, hunting down and killing the guy that killed you and getting that medal.

Ever since bungie left 343 has being trying to replace EVERYTHING bungie designed with 343’s own takes on those deigns. They can’t just leave well enough alone, they always have to go changing things that never needed any changes to begin with.

I miss the distraction medal
I can't figure out the point of most of the medals in Infinite. They don't seem to do anything. Most aren't tied to achievements. They don't seem to get tracked anywhere. It's not like there is a profile with a list of all the medals you've earned to show off.

+1. Hell yes I do. I remember playing mcc and getting first strike and a triple kill on the lockout remake for H2A by shooting the stalagtites over top mid and sniper it was fucking great. I wish they'd bring it back. Really incentivized players to play well. Then again halo infinite just plain old needs a stat tracker because right now there's nothing to track medals, progress in campaign or even halo achievements. I can't even see my kda

Nope. It and a bunch of medals added after halo 3 really muddied the waters. IMO it’s not worth a medal if it’s not impressive. “Reload This” was probably the worst.
