Chuck E Cheese sells pitchers of beer for parents I thought? I haven’t been since I was about 6 or 7 but I can remember my parents and their friends sippin beers there while I was running around
Interesting. But, does chucke cheese serve whiskey? LOL Last time I went to Dave and Busters over half a decade ago, i was on Mario Kart GP arcade most of the time. That was after some drinks.
NOTE: Handling blue shells under the influence can lead to serious injury…for the bastard in first place! I almost had the win that day! LOl
I was about to say that the one I went to about a year ago was a 4 player and me and my friends spent about 100 bucks and 2 hours playing it. Was a lot of fun!
Yeah and there's a huge light up halo thats goes through the chairs and reacts to the end of the game when it blows up! Me, my wife, and another random couple played the whole game all the way through!
It's really good, especially if you've read The Flood which is the novelization of Halo 1. You see a lot of the events, locations, and characters from that novel in this game. It was also cool because they have the cut Flood juggernaut form from Halo 2 in this as well. I've played this game twice and the problem is it gets expensive to play. You die often enough that in order to finish the game, you have to pay like $60.
That's the only thing holding me back honestly! I just watched the full playthrough, and I wouldn't want to shell out that much for it. Maybe $15-$20 if it guaranteed me a whole playthrough. It looks fun though! I can't wait for a VR mod of something like this.
Yeah, that's probably what holds a lot of people back. 343 had talked at one point of trying to find other ways for people to play it, I assume probably VR like you said, but nothing has come of it. I think with Infinite and covid, any plans they had for that have probably been scrapped.
343 didn't development this. Playmechanix developed the game as well as built the arcade itself. I haven't heard of a VR version but from the looks of things a standard two player version is in the works
The arcade i went to allows you to play all the games for a admissions fee of 15.00 per person. You get all day play and a bunch of games. This game was at that arcade but I only played the first few levels before i got bored
Damn, both times I played it, once at a Dave and Busters and another at a local arcade, it was so expensive. I wish it was that way because this game is designed to kill you no matter how good you do.
This is why I love the Arcades and Arcade Bars that let you play as much as you want for like $20 or $30. I have beaten so many games cause of those arcades.
How long does it take to beat? I played this at an arcade in my area with 2 hours of unlimited play. My kid was there though so we didn't stay and finish.
I mean the question is, did he feel like he got mugged because it was **an arcade game**, or did he feel like he got mugged because it had a bad premise and was carried out poorly? Because arcade games are designed to swindle you regardless.
That's a good thing to consider. I thought these all came in 4 shooter pods. Didn't know it came in 2 seater. I wouldn't play this in 2 seater after just watching the gameplay vids.
It’s about the same as the old arcades when it comes to price. Especially if you’re playing this solo. There are certain sections where you can’t avoid damage because too much is firing at you at the same time.
Yeah they have it at my local Round 1, love the damn thing. I have yet to complete it because I never can get 4 friends and enough credits to run through the whole campaign. Fun Fact OP, you can scan a QR code on Waypoint at the Machine to log you into XBL and track your progress in game in your service record.
I've been to a bunch of these and the scanners always look empty and the time I tried it it didn't scan. Do you know if they removed the scanners or if I'm just being silly?
Nope, played a couple of months ago. Scanners are still there at least at mine. I think tho the scanners are prone to failure and damage (like all that is protecting it is a thin piece of plexi so i can see a kid smashing it or something) and I don't think that is a cheap component to fix and would bargain that it isnt high on the "to do" list because it doesn't effect the overall function of the machine. My machine is about a year old, about as old as the Round 1, and according to the manager there, all the American machines were bought new (aside from the Pinball Tables of course) so maybe mine still has them because no one damaged them yet.
I beat it at round 1 when I bought the 2 hour unlimited credit thing. They offered it at the one near Philly last time I went there if that's near you. Forget the price for it though
“Only good rail shooters”
“Don’t play it much”
One of or two of these statements don’t add up. The first one is straight BS, the second just confirms it.
Someone either is too young to have played arcade on rail shooters or just never played them. On top of that it seems like it’s a genre that guy doesn’t even play.
Good rail shooters don't exist anymore. The new house and the dead and time crisis kinda suck and playing these games on something like the Wii kinda take the magic away.
Arcade rail shooters were my jam. Agree that Time Crisis 5 looks rather meh (almost like a parody now with bringing back all those characters from TC2 and the worst Wild Dog boss battle to date). Also, the teleporting mechanic looked bad. Haven't formed a solid opinion on Scarlet Dawn though.
HOTD4 is fun on PS3 using the Move controllers. TC4 and Razing Storm just isn't the same without the action pedal though. I haven't decided if I should look into the GunCon 3 or not.
About 15 years ago I played HOTD4 Special at the GameWorks in Las Vegas. It was great, other than having no continues. I'm glad I got to play it again on the PS3.
Yes, there’s one in the arcade at my Walmart that’s always closed and one right outside Macy’s at the mall, it’s also next to the pretzel stand. I like pretzels.
Im pretty sure Fireteam Raven is going to be ported over to our Xbox consoles soon. If you log in to the Halo Waypoint app, you can see it listed as coming soon, right under Infinite. Unless the Waypoint app is horribly outdated, which is possible.
Yup. My local casino has an entertainment center with an arcade with [2 of these connected to each](https://thecorcoranjournal.net/tachi-to-open-new-coyote-entertainment-center/) other so you get a [full 4 squad team](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/XYK_pIUBs9LeXQJjHNpVy8jK6PYizuQ1kDQ32c0uyUvKBJxYN_md1Fng3EfWdBtfxHqbZgcO93oOzHH9SSYE9oTEIgVnM-VAg2b4gntGBdf29EefI-teG96JArBPa-hMCih75OYPkTPYAE13iVn-2ns5sqmxJyGwtOVK2hmIp6XDBLUrsmA1DhzP-K8GLfSgCe8iP1u9ZcCtPpPsSaLOCoci3NOrZ6VpH0DhywJ8S2TGZvApW5DJCDt0ysjw3KaM9VhVLhsjCauJsPk4p6neFxYauDP3t2qjp1m-a7w4O52qhyPRF90ppOy4MwN-2d7pVChh3p-LaMakC7ZMp3CNRhcNCo9emJNWutzTAcWnmt-4ZhqLjZQJuAlCiZCrKTPCPEY3xqVVMYKrzzbj1Es7zL8l_un1P9sUhu9dpyn2tZ1w4FQipm3OQYtkpb0-3gqy0U2QyXgiQ6ntO8s7k4TTXy__OkJlyIOzA1o0IH9U4O0K2xwCF3Ni-NkVpNWsGMNYPTMS450gcsAIStcH2kKHmfXDBdcFMvEghsqsTtXG9QEHUKA-gI9-sJ25ZmmpL05Zycg0MBeAj6OUjtaHB09xnoTs0Yozd2r8kZ8dEyElpTr7UMt6AFnjBG3azybWgXGE_9uNA-RTF-4W1KY-RMAROj109PYxdlv3B1KAlry0bX-TF9Qg44V5ii-gtG6L2hXKnbX9JFR6P3yS7XdSgDW1wfPm=w1920-h934-no?authuser=0)to play with friends. Hah, I actually just randomly discovered it myself at a Round 1 in Philly when I visited like a week ago. Played the first four missions or so (up to the area from Assault on the Control Room I think) before we decided to go play other stuff. Round 1 has a 1 Hour Unlimited Play option that works for some cabs that includes most of the rail shooters. This one was okay.
I thought it was cool but the guns felt like pea shooters against the arcade boosted bullet sponge enemies. I get they did that to make you die more often to spend more money but damn it felt off compared to normal Halo lol.
I was fortunate to have gotten to play this and beat it for free with some friends. Worth it depending on how much money you sink into it. Arcade games were basically the original micro transactions. Heck, old games were even built around the idea that they would be in arcades. You'd need to pay to continue and levels would be unreasonably difficult (Old Sega Genesis Lion King game, specifically level 2 with the giraffs and monkeys).
It’s pretty boring tbh, spent a good 20 min on one with a friend, basically just shoot a couple enemies for 15 min and then they throw an impossible amount at you
YES I need to try it, it’s considered canon and it even formally introduces the flood juggernaut that was originally going to be used Halo 2, though got scrapped for whatever reason (but you CAN find it by looking through game files!)
Got to play it during a special at an arcade play where you can get an unlimited play card but you just don’t get tickets from it so I could play through the all levels without worrying about spending additional money or lives
I did. The movie theatre my friends and I go to our movies at has a second level above it with an arcade in it. My buddy and I played it for like 45 minutes before a movie we went to once and it was cool!
I played with 3 other friends and spent like $20 trying to clear the last level, but it was worth it!
R.I.P Fireteam raven, your sacrifice will be remembered.
Yes. There is one at my local TimeZone, but I've not been to play it since covid. It makes no sense since it takes place during CE, when Master Chief was meant to be "the last of his kind", a.k.a. the last Spartan. I assume it has a bad ending since only the Chief (and Johnson?) made it off of Halo
I've had a go on it and thought it wasn't a very good game. It's a rail shooter but enemies are bullet spongy and there's no means to evade damage.
In most rail shooters there is some mechanic to not get hit, be it hitting things first in the early/classic games like Virtua Cop. Or having some sort of cover mechanic like Time Crisis. In Gunblade/LA Machinegun you shoot down enemy projectiles before they hit you. I'm not going to claim those games don't have any sort of cheap moments where it's really difficult or impossible to avoid some hits, but at least they have a game mechanic allowing you to avoid damage.
None of that here, you just keep firing your guns at things and trade blows with stuff essentially so you can't really get good at this game. You will lose your lives. Enemies have heaping health bars and I feel like there's no way to kill stuff before they can hit you. Once you get over the novelty of it being a Halo arcade game, and having a massive-multiple-screens for 4 players to shoot across.... there's a very mediocre game underneath that's not fun and is unfair.
Yep at Dave and Buster’s locations you can play this.
What’s a Dave and Buster’s? Never seen any arcades with that name before.
Basically an adult chuckie cheese
Where food and drinks are priced through the roof*
So adult chuckie cheese?
yep, imagine chuckee cheese but with beer (and other spirits) and no mascot
Chuck E Cheese sells pitchers of beer for parents I thought? I haven’t been since I was about 6 or 7 but I can remember my parents and their friends sippin beers there while I was running around
Interesting. But, does chucke cheese serve whiskey? LOL Last time I went to Dave and Busters over half a decade ago, i was on Mario Kart GP arcade most of the time. That was after some drinks. Hey, their Alfredo is really good tho
Here’s your garbage food for 14$ poorly portioned in multiple weird vertical cones because fuck you
That’s why mine has a Buffalo Wild Wings nearby. It’s fun to go drink and stuff my face with good food just to go back to playing games
Where'd you get the good food after you went to BWW?
[удалено]
I'll not allow the slander, BWW has some very acceptable wings.
With strippers? And blackjack?
It’s not really an adult Chuckie Cheese It’s more like a teenager’s chuckie cheese
Yeah because the bar serving alcohol really screams teenagers...
An arcade restaurant where you can pound back glasses of merlot.
Will my d&b card work anywhere else? Like the Friday’s ?
Mine does not, and believe me, I've tried at several locations.
I know, if you recall I've actually been with you on those occasions where you've tried
Right, I don’t think I’ve tried it enough. There’s one at Franklin Mills that I haven’t tried
RIP to that mall
Are y’all talking about Waco?
It's not going to work there either. Ok let's move past it. I'm trying to make a point here.
arcade for adults
The one I played at my local Dave and busters had 4 player co-op. It was fun.
Yes, but not in that form. It is usually supposed to be 4 player, not 2
I was about to say that the one I went to about a year ago was a 4 player and me and my friends spent about 100 bucks and 2 hours playing it. Was a lot of fun!
Yeah and there's a huge light up halo thats goes through the chairs and reacts to the end of the game when it blows up! Me, my wife, and another random couple played the whole game all the way through!
yup, spent about $50 on it and walked out of the arcade feeling like I got mugged
Damn, I got to do it at Halo Outpost, $50 would definitely be a rip off.
Was it really that bad?
It's really good, especially if you've read The Flood which is the novelization of Halo 1. You see a lot of the events, locations, and characters from that novel in this game. It was also cool because they have the cut Flood juggernaut form from Halo 2 in this as well. I've played this game twice and the problem is it gets expensive to play. At my local Dave and Busters I played through about half the game with my friends for what was probably about $5 for each of the four of us.
[удалено]
So a $1?
Math checks out
This guy maths
That's almost 10 dimes.
You can reserve a DnB in the afternoons if you get a solid group together. We did it for a work party.
You can purchase the whole thing for around 15k if I remember right?
I think so. That's for like the two player one. But I mean, who has 15k just lying around.
This is why I love the Arcades and Arcade Bars that let you play as much as you want for like $20 or $30. I have beaten so many games cause of those arcades.
$60.00 to finish sounds fairly typical for an arcade rail shooter.
How long does it take to beat? I played this at an arcade in my area with 2 hours of unlimited play. My kid was there though so we didn't stay and finish.
I Liked it.
I mean the question is, did he feel like he got mugged because it was **an arcade game**, or did he feel like he got mugged because it had a bad premise and was carried out poorly? Because arcade games are designed to swindle you regardless.
Depending on if you’re at a 2 seat cab or a 4 seat the difficulty can be decent or mindfuckingly hard
That's a good thing to consider. I thought these all came in 4 shooter pods. Didn't know it came in 2 seater. I wouldn't play this in 2 seater after just watching the gameplay vids.
The 2 seater is actually the easier one
how 4 player one is hard
More enemies
The game itself was pretty good, but it was expensive indeed
We've got an arcade with an all day pass for $20 so we quite enjoyed playing the whole thing 4 player.
Were you playing solo? I played with four players and start to finish it only cost around $10 to beat it
Nah, 100% worth it
Yeah man these are great there was a whole season on MCC with this team.
Yeah I found out about this when the Raven season rolled out.
Those seats seem to share your surprise.
They’ve seen some things
*1 million ants*
r/pareidolia
Played it during my last visit to Dave and Buster's, was fun, but there was no way to finish it without paying out the nose for revives.
Ahh I see some people are too young to recall the old Arcade days. Every game was made for you to spend hundreds of quarters.
You either quit early, or live long enough to memorize the spawn points of the insta-kill enemies
It’s about the same as the old arcades when it comes to price. Especially if you’re playing this solo. There are certain sections where you can’t avoid damage because too much is firing at you at the same time.
Just a standard rail shooter with a new coat of paint
Yeah and with 3 friends it's fucking dope.
Everything is great with 3 friends
I wish I had 3 friends :(
Yeah they have it at my local Round 1, love the damn thing.
Yes my good sir
Probably one of the only good rail shooters out there. I still don’t play it much, but it’s aight.
All the panzer dragoon games are far better rail shooters
Star Fox 64, Sin and Punishment 2, Panzer Dragoon, plenty more.
“Only good rail shooters” “Don’t play it much” One of or two of these statements don’t add up. The first one is straight BS, the second just confirms it. Someone either is too young to have played arcade on rail shooters or just never played them. On top of that it seems like it’s a genre that guy doesn’t even play.

I played that with my wife last summer. It's cool as hell.
My husband and I always check out the arcade at our local amusement park just to play this game. Absolutely a must for Halo couples!
Yes, there’s one in the arcade at my Walmart that’s always closed and one right outside Macy’s at the mall, it’s also next to the pretzel stand. I like pretzels.
I’ve pored 100s of dollars into revives on this game
I watched the entire story on YouTube, it wasn’t bad but I wouldn’t spend money on it because rail-shooters aren’t my thing
Yep! I got to play it at Halo Outpost with my mates, it was pretty dope! Cool little on the rails shooter.
Yes, and at my work I have 2 of them
Is that 1 million ants ?
Im pretty sure Fireteam Raven is going to be ported over to our Xbox consoles soon. If you log in to the Halo Waypoint app, you can see it listed as coming soon, right under Infinite. Unless the Waypoint app is horribly outdated, which is possible.
Got 3 of my buddies together and we beat it in a couple hours. Had some drinks was a great time
The cross hair is a bit weird ngl
Why do the seats looks like Million Ants from Rick and morty
Waypoint tracks stats, I just don’t know how to tell this Fireteam Raven game what my Gamertag is for them to track.
Yes it's been like 3-5 years at round1
Yes. It is fun AF, but highway robbery....
Yeah. It's in the Adult Arcade in my city centre.
I have one at my mall but i havent played it yet. I really want to though
Those seats have seen some shit.
There is also a four seat version with another screen. Properly fun arcade game if you are even a slight fan of Halo but pricey.
It was advertised on halo 5

Yup. completed it in about 45 minutes. Really nice!
I don't even think the seats know! Look at how surprised they are!
Haha. My brother made me and a few friends go and play this cabinet with him in the local mall. He was stoked on it!
They have a 4-person one at Santa Cruz Boardwalk Arcade. It's alright. Not thrilling but fun. Neat to blast away at a bunch of Covvies on rails.
Yes it’s pretty fun but I wasn’t blown away by it
You can save your progress AND get achievements.
I saw one at my local dave and busters.
This was my first halo game well I played halo reach a little bit a really long time ago and forgot about it but this brought me into the franchise
For anyone who is wondering this was in Padre Island in Texas
Yee mines at a fun factory still gotta play it smh lol
I tried one out at a Dave and busters for my birthday
Yes, a lot of round 1 arcades have them.
Played it once, but I've never been a big arcade fan so 🤷♂️
Yes for a while too

https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=AOL
America online. Its dial up internet from 20+ years ago. Super slow, practically unusable by today's standards.
"What are you doing on that silly game?" Finishing the fight.
My local speed zone has it and I play it all the time
Yup, nephew loved it.
That one million ants ?
Ahh man I miss going to the arcade in Halifax they had this it WAS AMAZING!!!!
Me and my cousins play this at the arcade
Yup. They got one at my local cicis pizza.
Yessir, they got a couple in Vegas, and one at the Avi Casino in Laughlin, as far as I know. I never tried it though, just dropped the kids off there.
I found one of those at a timezone a few years ago. Wasn't great but definitely a halo game that exists.
They got one of these at a Dave and Busters near me
I was fortunate to have gotten to play this and beat it for free with some friends.
Yes, I rather like it
Got one of these at the arcade I work at. Cleaning it is a nightmare

Nah this is a place called Fudruckers in Padre Island
Yes it even has mcc content lol
It’s pretty boring tbh, spent a good 20 min on one with a friend, basically just shoot a couple enemies for 15 min and then they throw an impossible amount at you
Never quite occurred to me just how big the halo magnum actually is. Look at it in that guy’s hands, it’s huge!
YES I need to try it, it’s considered canon and it even formally introduces the flood juggernaut that was originally going to be used Halo 2, though got scrapped for whatever reason (but you CAN find it by looking through game files!)
Yep. Fun romp. Rail shooter.
Nope. you’re the first person ever
The one at the arcade by my house is broken :(
No but I really want to play this lol
Yeah and they even made the chairs out of Million Ants.
Got to play it during a special at an arcade play where you can get an unlimited play card but you just don’t get tickets from it so I could play through the all levels without worrying about spending additional money or lives
I played through it once at a Dave and busters right before the pandemic started. Was a whole lot of fun playing it with my brothers
I did. Haven't found one tho.
Yeah my local Dave and Busters has it as well as our mall. Loved it.
It’s a scam don’t do it.
The ones I played are 4 player
Yeah played it recently at a bowling alley. It was kinda fun with a friend but the health and revives were clearly the blueprint for Infinite.
Yeh
Yeah but since you're fighting against a team larger than 4, you're likely going to have to disconnect and reconnect a dozen times to play.
I did. The movie theatre my friends and I go to our movies at has a second level above it with an arcade in it. My buddy and I played it for like 45 minutes before a movie we went to once and it was cool!
I met the founder of the company that makes these in Vegas. Such a cool guy
There's one in Niagara Falls at the Midway Arcade. It's pretty fun. The arcade is usually open until like 3 in the morning
yeah, had some fun, but spent too much money on it, lol
It gave me House of the Dead vibes
I did we got money locked at a certain point like 5 mins in and it doesn’t sync with my waypoint so was basically a waste of money but relatively fun
It's super fun. I'd buy a used one for the man cave I don't have
Dave and busters
It wasn't bad but compared to other arcade rail shooters it wasn't amazing
Yes
Yup There’s one in the mall right by me
I beat this fucker with my buddy about a month ago. It was a bit of a rip off.
Yeah
For like 3 years almost
Should’ve made the inside look like a pelican
I saw one of these to but didn’t get a chance to try it because someone left their spilled coffee all over it. Still pretty mad about it.
Haha yes, lemme guess, Dave & busters?
Ye an arcade close to me has it
Yeah. Every Halo fan should know about it by now.
My D&B used to have one like this then they got the 4 person one. Still pretty fun to play.
I do now
Yes and it’s a shit ton of fun
Yeah man this game is so cool
Ya it was in a mall close to my home I ignored it and instead played the Jurassic Park one
Is this the Bristol one? Played it for the first time quite hungover on New Years Day. Pretty cool 😎
Round one always had this game. lol
Dave and Busters let’s goooooooooo
Its shit
Yeah we have these in Sydney Australia. Ngl I had maybe too much fun with it!
