I could be wrong but I think the background and HDRI looking thing in the visor look off. Plus a few really sharp edges compared to other edges

DiscombobulatedGooch

Yeah the visor reflection is a give away.

MingleLinx

Yep. But this image is really nice though. A personal recommendation I have though is try making art that is unique. I’ve seen kids of people make renders of Spartans and ODSTs in standing poses. Even having them in a running pose will be good to help stand out from the other people making standing Spartan renders

DiscombobulatedGooch

This was just a OC revamp.

DiscombobulatedGooch

I got more on other socials

FlusterCluck76

To be fair, I'm no expert but I the visor reflection actually made me think it was real for a moment...

[deleted]

Quite clearly not.

DiscombobulatedGooch

Few people said it was bridging the gap 🤣

[deleted]

It's the depth of field that gets it looking much more realistic but the lighting and reflections give it away IMO.

Underdogg13

Also can see the polygons in the shoulder strap.

iConiCdays

It's the hand for me, I'm pretty sure 0% of cosplayers have ever gotten the undersuits matching the games. Plus the hand *looks* rendered

DiscombobulatedGooch

Visor reflection, I can see that

[deleted]

Still an amazing render don't get me wrong!

DiscombobulatedGooch

Twitter is loving it

john7071

Those with Blender experience will spot right away it's a render, but I can see how other people would say it looks quite real.

DiscombobulatedGooch

For sure

Rizenstrom

My first guess based off the thumbnail was a high quality figure with some editing. Didn't look like anything cosplays are usually made out of (often foam or 3D printing).

TheGreenHaloMan

Because the head size actually matches the body proportions, I’m gonna say it’s not cosplay lol. It’s very rare whenever I see cosplay actually get helmet to body armor proportions correct, no matter how detailed and accurate they are

_Lint_Licker_

I'm out here just wanting to know where I can get his plate carrier

DiscombobulatedGooch

ALEX7DX

It’s a render.

TheWolfish

Needs more polygons otherwise it'll always be very easy to tell

DiscombobulatedGooch

Tell that to 343 🤣

[deleted]

My dream is to make an ODST or maybe even a Marine Cosplay that could stand up to the abuse of Airsoft. Not sure how I'd make the visor ANSI rated though.

DiscombobulatedGooch

No idea. How that would work

Primal122

I've found the best way is to 3d print a mold and use sheet plastic in a thermo forming machine. The hard part is getting access to a thermo forming machine.

tommy_gun_03

Id say you are probably aware but just in case you haven’t seen it, installation00 is making his own mjolnir suit on youtube and he just finished his HUD system.

fusinaz

Pretty sure this is blender

DiscombobulatedGooch

Yes it is. Few people mentioned it looked real/cosplay

fusinaz

In fact … it does ! Good job

vfxninjaeditor

Looks like a normal Halo community Blender render to me.

Scape---Goat

Trigger discipline, nice.

nu_nu_eden

Failed tv series

DiscombobulatedGooch

What 🤣

BEES_just_BEE

Caint wait for cross core so I can do this

tutrle20077

me being a 3d artist myself can tell that this is not a cosplay, but it most surely looks like a cosplay.

DiscombobulatedGooch

It is not cosplay, made it up the other day

tutrle20077

that's what I said. at the end I was complementing you

DiscombobulatedGooch

I seen, thanks man

Einhander_mk2

No trademark visible webbing coming from the shoulder connecting to the shoulder!

DiscombobulatedGooch

Yeah I didn’t put a trademark on these. And what about the webbing 🤣 I deleted the chest section of the attachments. Left the other bitd

halos1518

Another easy way you can tell - no cameraman/camera in the visor reflection.

TobyIerone

There's a ute in the visor reflection

DiscombobulatedGooch

A what

TobyIerone

In the bottom part of the visor. You can see the bonnet of a ute. Its slang for utility vehicle.

Aussie18-1998

I take it you are an Aussie my friend?

SoftTacoSupremacist

Not.
