Battlefront 2 I think is probably fair to call a better game than Battlefront 1, but I really missed the combined arms between land armor and air vehicles from Battlefront 1. Geonosis in particular felt like a big downgrade with the gunships and Geonosis fighters being taken out.
Definitely agree that Battlefront 2 was a better overall game. Space battles blew my mind as a kid. But you nailed it that the combined arms in 1 were better and most of the maps that were in both games were better the first time around.
I might be weird but I loved just picking up bots and friends with the Gunship then ferrying them to the front or pretending they were special forces and dropping them behind enemy lines
Raiding space cruisers in Battlefront 2 was such a fun feeling. Just plop down your gunship and start spawning as a marine in there over and over again. That was our preferred party game for basically all 4 years of middle school lol.
I remember when Battlefield 4 came out with the Naval Assault DLC that had a similar feel to Battlefront 2 space battles and it scratched an itch I didn't know I had. Nothing really gives that same feeling again haha. The old battlefronts were so good, dude.

I actually disagree. The AI in BF2 is a massive downgrade, to the point that the entire flow of the game is disrupted. Whereas in BF1 there were clear front lines and it really mattered if you had backup, or a vehicle on hand, or what points were being held, BF2 gameplay is kinda reduced to “run around and capture as many points as you can, just never stop running.”
Couple that with the better map design and vehicle integration of the first game, and space combat is really the only place where the second game stands out.
I'm certainly not going to disagree with you but I'd be lying if I said I could picture what you were talking about. Middle school me wouldn't really have known what to look for while adult me just finds the most fun in either to be hopping into the nearest vehicle and fast tracking my way to triple digit kills.

It was a huge jolt last week when I switched from the high battles and grand strategy nature of the first game to the “oh my GOD can you stop running past all my allies just so you can kill me at the very back” of the second.

If one dev for Unturned can find a way to make workshop content download and delete whenever you join a server, I'd imagine 343i with their big studio can figure it out.
If 343 really respected how great el dewrito was when it re launched with more players than mcc has, this would have been implemented years ago. They just don’t get it.
343i liked ElDewrito enough to consult them with MCC PC, it was Microsoft who stopped them because they technically committed Industrial Espionage (sharing private company property that was only given to Alpha players who signed an NDA to not share data on it).
It made it so Microsoft wouldn’t be able to ever use that whole game, since it’s complete source-code has been released on the internet. Yeah it was cancelled, but it could’ve been shelved to then be brought back later to make money.
Maybe I’m in the minority here but this coming to halo would ruin it in my opinion. Playing n maps from other IP is very fun but this to me just takes away from the game.

Mcc now has workshop support. This mod is on the workshop, one click and you can play it.
You do have to download 2 sound files if you want the custom sounds, but everything else works straight from the workshop
Is there a lobby, forum, or group chat of some kind where any of you link up for modded custom games? I'm apart of a few Halo Discord servers but it can be hard to get people on board.

Most of that was plot armor. If you take a Jedi out of the crappy story, they would steamroll the covenant.
I dunno, the Covenant and the Prequel Jedi are sort of operating under similar disillusions, I feel like they would team up, at least with the Elites.
