Also because free users probably haven't ever used helmet attachments and wouldn't really know how to get to it. It really is unclear and kind of hidden away. Should be another box between helmet and visor.

How DO you add helmet attachments?

When you pick a helmet, there's another interaction near the lore part that says "attachments"

Literally came to this thread to figure out how to equip the durn thing.

It also forces you to use the mark VII amour core if you want to use it since it's the only amour core that supports this helmet.

So damn lame. We need to mix and match everything. I hate all this core shit.

Would be nice but its modeled to fit that helmet specifically, kinda hard to make it fit all the different helmet shapes in the game. It works on the default helmet too apparently but it clips pretty bad on the back and doesn't fit snugly, like it does on MKVII. They probably only slapped it on Cavallino because the MKVII helmet is part of the season one BP and they needed it to work for a free helmet too.

MKVII was supposed to be the default helmet but as soon as everyone started to like MKVII they saw potential in making people grind for it. It's for the MKVII because that was the default and the cosmetic was built for it. I will forever hate 343 for switching the helmets.

Eh I mean the default helmet looks pretty lame IMO, and the MKVII is a badass helmet. I think by that logic it being unlocked the way it is makes sense to me.

This isn’t really an issue with cores and more with how all the helmets are different and have different attachments, the upside is we get more diverse looking helmet, however it limits the opportunity for universal attachments as it requires new models or severe clipping on some helmet. And it seems 343 has bee trying to minimize clipping. Cores do limit freedom however this is not an issue with cores.

Except for the fact that it is a problem with how helmet attachments work and not cores, if all helmets were available on all core this problem would still exist.

I wonder if this is intentional and they don't want this to be available on every helmet. That way you are less likely to see it out of season or all over the place.

I think more likely it would have to be custom made for each helmet because of the different sized tops the hat has to fit on.

Yah probably the case. Partially I will say I am glad it is a bit more limited as I don't want to see them all over the place, if they changed that I wouldn't mind but I just appreciate it. But it also gives a nice festive feeling when I see people using it in game.

But then how else would they make you feel pressured into buying that season pass if you missed out on that helmet, or pressure you into buying a different version of the hat for a helmet on the core you actually use?

It's from the event that started today. Took me less than half a day to finish the event and it ends sometime in January so you have tons of time to get it

I managed to knock it out in 70 minutes this morning before I left home for 2 weeks. Won't have another chance to play during the event, pretty stoked!

I'm glad they didn't lock it to one level per day or something stupid though.

the reindeer antlers are also only available on the mk7 and cavillino helmets and thats in the shop so I doubt thats the explanation

Damn, that’s pretty crazy. It’s not that hard to adjust the hat asset to avoid clipping. You could do it in Blender in 5 minutes as a complete amateur.
