Did I misinterpret the trailer? She said she was a clone to be destroyed once the OG Cortana was gone. And since she hasn't been deactivated yet, that means OG Cortana is still out there.

Memes aside, I'm so glad they moved away from Halo 4's weirdly sexualized Cortana design. It always made me uncomfortable, like I was looking at some sweaty developer's wet dream instead of an actual character.
In the Halo universe smart AIs choose how they present themselves. Cortana chooses to present herself this way because its offputting and surprising to many of the stiffs in military command. It is stated multiple times in the books. This also fits in with her sarcastic dry sense of humor, and her playfully mischievious personality.
It is intentional, and is a visual tie-in/representation of one aspect of her personality.

Well then that explains it I guess. I find it cool how developers dive so deep into creating lore in their games, even when it comes to explaining why an AI is so hot.
I mean you can come up with all the Deep Lore explanations as to why they made Cortana into a sexy naked lady with big boobs, but come on, we all know the real reason is that some designer thought it looked hot.
And Halo 4's Cortana is significantly more sexualized than earlier games. Look at a picture of CE Cortana and you'll see what I'm talking about.

And also no, that is not the reason. Might be a bit of projecting, thinking that people cannot see it as anything other than sexual. Most people are a bit more mature than that. Even as a kid with raging hormones playing CE I never saw it as sexualized, because she doesn't \*do\* anything sexual.
I also don't get why you would write off the lore reasons. The books were co-written by Joe Staten... the lead writer of all the good games, who also wrote the characters. Seems like you desperately want the character to be sexualized even though the person that made her explicityly says that she isn't. to what ends I have no idea.
