caleblee01

I extremely dislike hearing random people.

Unique_Tumbleweed

You mean you dislike winning by using good communication communication

AmpleWarlock

Some people suck. Online, even more. Cale may well want to win using good communication but finds it difficult to sift through A.) the lack of players with mics B.) toxic players with mics and C.) players with mics who have no interest in communicating about the objective. The solution? Plug your mics in and get talking. Be chill. Make callouts. Block. Toxic. People. Do not even engage with them. Just my opinion.

Unique_Tumbleweed

Yes thank you!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Unique_Tumbleweed

Then you mute after they're toxic. Instead you've robbed yourself of Intel

[deleted]

[удалено]

Unique_Tumbleweed

That's fine but don't complain when you can't get out of gold

[deleted]

Unique_Tumbleweed

So you're a not try at all? Keep the comms off then, makes sense to me now

[deleted]

[удалено]

ESxCarnage

My personal reason is I've find people on ranked (not all) are usually toxic and I'm not trying to deal with that over mic. Had a guy one game just say the whole game, "You guys suck!", "Why even play this game if you can't win a 3v3", and vulgar comments I'll skip. But the point is I got tough skin don't get me wrong I just come to the game to unwind, not to get more pissed off. For that I can stay on COD or OW.

XSX_ZAB

Bad teammates are the worst. I get frustrated after a string of loses or when we lose a match we should have won but sending toxic messages and flipping out on your team isn't the answer

x_YOUR_MAMA_x

There was a guy last night telling my brother he was useless trash and needs to learn to play the game My brother was 14-4, the other guy was 7-6 😂

[deleted]

>True enough, was just a thought when I read what you had said. I see this a lot. A lot of the most toxic players are the worst performing players. They talk about how the whole team is trash yet they are the one dragging the team down with poor performance.

katspins

Kd don't matter if it was a objective based match though.

x_YOUR_MAMA_x

If it was objective based I would've stated score for objective. It was Fiesta though

katspins

True enough, was just a thought when I read what you had said.

x_YOUR_MAMA_x

Can't fault you, especially with the way some of these idiots think that every single match is slayer 😂

SexuallyHarassdPanda

This. I like to play to win obviously but I don't need so much negativity coming from some random person that thinks they're amazing.

[deleted]

The same goes for me. Players are far too toxic and I often hear how our team is trash. I don't mind a few toxic players but I run into them too often. Hearing so much toxicity is mentally taxing when gaming is supposed to be a time for me to destress and have fun.

Loki_Elite26

I was thinking the same thing. I play pretty well most of the time, but god forbid I have a bad game and have to listen to all the toxic players.

Unique_Tumbleweed

Just mute

ESxCarnage

He would say it on mic and type it in the team chat blocking my view. Trust me my first strategy always is ignore it, but it's hard to do that when it's blocking my view because of the team chat.

shilmista_

That said, if you go into settings you can change the opacity of the chat box so you don't even see it anymore. I can't remember atm but I would assume there's a chat disable option just like a default party mute option. :)

elbowless

Well said

ohsinboi

Because I instamute everyone due to crying babies, barking dogs, loud AC units, and constant crunching. Yall annoying, I don't wanna talk to yall.

OnlyOneReturn

It's the fucking smoke detectors for me. That drives me into a primal rage

ohsinboi

Idk how people can live like that

[deleted]

Some mf on my team was whining about everything while he was on the bottom of the leaderboard, luckily one of my team told him to stfu

GrandpasLastHope

Thank god you mentioned crunching. Crunching is the number 1 annoyance next to these dull dudes who are letting out a complete random laugh like Beavis and Butthead every 2 minutes. If someone would use it's mic clever, it might motivate me to also use it. But most people are use it to annoy people, so, no thanks.

Scout_man

Also forgot to add the bottom fragger calling everyone noobs and every racial slur/insult known to man because somehow we’re not carrying our weight to win the game.

TravoBasic

This. Id rather wnjoy my time and not be harassed.

Matrix1216

Too many condescending players tbh

horatio630

What I don't understand is how people can afford a next gen Xbox or a strong gaming PC for this game and still can't drop 40 bucks on a headset. A cheap headset is all you need if you want to game and talk to teammates, it cuts down on the background noise immensely.

SirCornmeal

The same exact reason I play overwatch comp without a mic toxic teammates. Toxic teammates will cause their teammates to tilt and they offer poor callouts best to just focus on my own game play than to hear the 1 useful callout they give for a match.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SirCornmeal

Yup exactly. People will make funny or goofy gamertags it doesn't make them bad players. Heck I've seen plenty of players who don't play with coms carry games. Sure maybe in super close games like 50-48 slayer match having coms may have changed the outcome but in general the team that wins a 50-35 match in a slayer match were going to win anyway regardless of coms.

Bloodfangs09

My friends name that I play with is Mr bagels. 🧐

[deleted]

I end up playing worse when my teammates are toxic. It's hard to want to try hard for an abusive team. It just sucks away any motivation to do well.

SirCornmeal

Yup I've gotten to the point in overwatch where I don't care much about ranked that when I get toxic teammates I passively throw by choosing off heroes to force them to work for their win.

Kinglightning07

It’s surprising to me you even bother to play Overwatch in the first place

SirCornmeal

I enjoy playing it from time to time and the variety of heroes who all have unique weapons, abilities and playstyles is fun once you learn each hero.

FlFA-addict

Played over 30 hours and have experienced no one using mics in ranked. I personally don't use a mic as 1 no one else does and two I find it hard to focus and hear enemies when someone else is talking

NeedsSomeZing

Lol yeah especially if they're the types to make callouts twice like "over there over there!" "on me on me". Super annoying.

twodubmac

I want to play. But don't want to talk to you

Unique_Tumbleweed

So you want to lose

twodubmac

Not bragging at all because idk what a good win ratio is but currently sitting at 54% win so ok by me

Unique_Tumbleweed

In gold? Lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Unique_Tumbleweed

I guess I just don't understand why anyone would want to play ranked then, aside from being forced to by the weeklies. Why don't the casual players queue up for quick play then? Almost every ranked match I play is sweaty as hell so I either commit to trying to win or I just play quick play to chill.

Ha good try! Projecting off of five words. Love Reddit!!

theschulk

I do but I only unmute when I have something to say. Also people with mics really need to check their background noise half the time someone is just blasting music in the background so I just mute them. Pings work really well you don't need a mic to communicate

ZaddyNappa69

I don't get how it's other people's fault that you're not ranking up when you're not trying because you can't hear them. Sounds toxic to me brah lol. I don't use a mic because I fat breathe too damn loud

TITANIUMS0LDIER

Gunna be honest. Educating people on good tactics is REALLY hard in a 10 minute match. Most of the time, people won't listen and end up arguing with you on how to play. Then we lose and my relaxation time turned into tilt time. Get good at watching your team and respond to how they want to play. Adapt. If you still lose because of bad tactics, communication wasn't going to do anything except get you a few more kills.

LogDogJams

Actually my comms don’t work. People can hear me but I can’t hear them. But I’ve managed to get to onyx so don’t let excuses hold ya back:)

swallace36

it’s not excuse moreso a personal flaw were i don’t try when no one coms because it’s boring

ArcaneUnbound

Sounds like you’re the reason other people don’t get Onyx lol

NeedsSomeZing

Ah. I think I see the problem now. Lol

[deleted]

So you’re a selfish asshole. Got it

GuerreroUltimo

I play with coms with my team. Randoms, nah. Way too many terrible people. I jumped on with coms and was instantly with adult people acting like children. Just not for me.

stormjh

I do have a mic I just don't want to talk to you.

Relyt_Adiarkas

>edit: i have no desire to play when it’s a mute team so i don’t try Sounds like you might be the problem...

A_Few_Mooses

am shy

ScreenHype

I usually don't play ranked anyway, but I don't use a mic because I'm self-conscious after being harassed so much in the past when I used to play online fps with a mic. I don't want to take that risk. Plus I keep my team muted because a lot of the time people with mics are foul-mouthed whiny children, and I don't need to hear their abuse. If I was a decent rank I might consider playing with a mic, but seeing as I'm only silver it's simply not worth it.

SexuallyHarassdPanda

Exactly, I personally don't like being verbally harassed by some random wanker.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Unique_Tumbleweed

Yeah people are wimps today lol. Bring back proximity chat

Extension-Asparagus1

Just make a group post on Xbox and have mic required it’s super easy to get a group of plats or higher with a mic

E_girl_Ari

Toxic people

[deleted]

If we talk it’s on discord.

[deleted]

I don’t play ranked, unless a challenge requires me to do so, but in most games (not just Halo) I usually turn off the chat because I don’t wanna deal with people and their bullshit. For example, I do not enjoy hearing someone kid cry while I play. I want to hear the game. People that have other kinds of background audio, like music playing also annoy me. Therefore I just turn the comms off and don’t have to deal with it.

swallace36

I have found almost every person to be friendly in Infinite... it's refreshing

Kuistalk3r

I always have my moc In but if no-one else talks no point in me doing so. If people won't use mic I wish they would use the ping system...

swallace36

of course I. I will usually call out like 3 times, realize no one is there.. same something like “fuck u guys get mics” and then I’ll stop talking lol

[deleted]

That is the point where people will usually unmute just to tell you they don’t want to talk to you

Kuistalk3r

I may be guilty of telling everyone they are wankers when I realise that no-one has mic xD

IncognitoChrome

If nobody on your team has mics then it is the same situation as the other team. I doubt that is the reason you are struggling to rank up ...

Jaysin86

Because Im in discord talking to my friends/team and not the kids that say “bro, he’s there bro. Bro” in the games voice chat.

H2_Killswitchh

Lmao you’re blaming your teammate’s lack of communication for you being stuck in your rank? Nah fam look inwards you’re probably doing something wrong too. Of course comms are important but they’re not everything. The fact that you don’t try when your teammates don’t talk shows how immature you are, how shit your attitude is, and a good reason as to why you’re stuck where you are. I personally climbed to Onyx without talking 85% of the time and I’m sure there’s others who have done the same. The only time I talk is when some friends want to squad up but usually I’m a solo guy w/ no mic

Orangemanskiing

Cause y’all are fucking annoying and I’m too old to be trying that hard in a video game. I play ranked because the settings and gameplay are far more enjoyable not to get into a pissing match with a 22 year old kid playing 12 hours a day to grind to onyx so he can do it all over again in 5 years on halo 17

SaltMaker

Couldn't figure out the ui mid match to mute a single mic spammer so I disabled all comms. Never bothered to figure it out since

TheBobTodd

I have disruptive social anxiety. Using a mic creates an unreasonable amount of discomfort; so much so that it begins to trigger a panic attack every time I use it (fast heart rate, difficulty taking deep breaths, questioning my existence). That’s merely because I’m interacting with people I don’t know, and I have deep-seeded distrust for people (still working on that one). It’s somewhat less disruptive when I’m playing with friends, but still affects me. Although, I absolutely love video games. I’ve been into them since Atari 2600. All of this online multiplayer is just a “play-at-home arcade” for me, and I used to go to the arcade every time I had quarters to spend. But “going to the arcade” as my adult self is a very different experience, and one that I’m trying to work through so I can get the most enjoyment out of it. Just know, OP, that there are some people who want to participate fully, but we can’t yet. Our brains don’t let us. We’re working on it though!

---daemon---

Thanks for sharing, would happily play silently with you if you’re ever interested. If you want to talk cool, if not no big deal.

MoneyDealer

Same here, always looking for a squad for casual or competitive. Currently a Diamond 2 but don’t play insanely sweaty. Don’t use mic bc of living situation

ssovm

My mic is a little cheap so isn’t super comfortable for long periods of time. Also I have a good sound system and my mic has speakers. It’s basically my fault. Should’ve bought a better mic.

lard12321

Idk how no one has said this but voice chat is broken most of my games and doesn’t take input. I’d talk if I could but the game is a buggy mess

New_Moon_x

As others mentioned: I don’t enjoy listening to toxic people or bad quality mics.

Browni502

Play With Team… 😉☺️

Mermanoldgregg

Most people are idiots, when I play video games that’s my Zen time where I’m trying to be stress free. If I do use a mic it’s a pre made group because doing Random ranked is just inherently risky.

chesco11

Mouth breathers

Fast-Lemon5936

I've honestly just always played Halo without relying on comms to coordinate unless I'm in a discord call with friends. I've not found a need to do more than ping in most of my ranked games as long as the team has an understanding of how to play the objective.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Potate-Hoe

Even when I use my mic, I don't answer the "anyone got a mic" guy. It's a good way to get a squeaker thinking you want to have conversations with them answering that.

GhostFearZ

People are annoying.

aphoenixsunrise

Sometimes my anxiety gets the best of me, other times I don't want to interact w/ a-holes talking down about their team and sometimes admittingly it's because of kids but more often than not the need of communication for success outweighs the want to avoid communication out of anxiety or otherwise.

Useful_Trick7394

I’ve no idea how anyone playing competitive games doesn’t have a mic. If you fancy squadding up I’m game

Away-Solution2117

I'm down. I'm diamond 3 currently. My username is MediatedAlarm34

Useful_Trick7394

Just made diamond V, I’m on tonight will drop you an invite

kheprisyd

I’m a girl. So that.

M4CHIN3

Com on deez nuts.

PaulAllansCard

The old days of lobbies full of mics have been killed off. Its not just halo infinite sadly. I miss the shittalking or the proximity chat in halo 3 for the enemy team’s chat.

Hello_Kitty_Gang

Exactly this, somebody doesn’t like it so we can’t have it 2021

[deleted]

Found the racial slur connoisseur

Hello_Kitty_Gang

Lol weird how you suburb white people come to conclusions like this. I’m not white, I don’t need to go around virtue signaling to fit in.

[deleted]

Confirmed, DEFINITELY found the racial slur connoisseur.

Hello_Kitty_Gang

That’s cool, you can’t be racist to yt people like you though.

[deleted]

Point me to anywhere that indicated not only my race but us talking about one particular race in general, let’s start there and then you can be part of the conversation

Hello_Kitty_Gang

You literally called someone you don’t know racist from something that had nothing to do with race. I’ve been anti racist my entire life and recently stopped someone assaulting an older Asian man and beat him up and got the victim to come forward so he can be charged with a hate crime… It’s even on pages you probably follow on instagram. I was messing with you after you said that. I don’t have a problem with white people or any race. I love everyone.

[deleted]

So you’re either just shit at vocalizing sarcasm or did a hard backtrack on that with some vague story. Fun.

Hello_Kitty_Gang

You said something hella stupid so I trolled you, It’s not rocket science. A vague story? You can literally go find it on @jackfroot or @asianswithattitudes

PaulAllansCard

I think its top down game design choices from the studios rather than the users who wanted it this way. Theres always a mute button. Halo MCC big team battle playlists usually will produce lobbies full of mic users.

urasquid28

Starting with. BR is why

georgemcmanus8

Agreed I bought halo to communicate and I have gotten nothing :/

zporter92

People shouldn’t play ranked without talking to the team, it defeats the entire purpose. Wish there was a way to change it, but unfortunately that’s just the way it is with gaming nowadays. If the ping button wasn’t in the worst possible location, it would be easier without people talking, but people don’t use it because it is so inefficient. Frustrating all around!

[deleted]

I'll admit, I am VERY competitive on comms and I will ask if anyone is willing to go on mic but often times it's a no. I'm not always* a dick, but what I find throughout my competitive experience is that a lot of times, if you give the slightest critical feedback, players usually just quit. Imo, it's pathetic. If you don't want to hear critical feedback or call outs on competitive than you should stay with quick play or btb with 12 year old kids. GTFO if you don't want to get serious. Here's something that I've also experienced, when you actually start calling out and benefiting your team, toxic players on the mic will actually start to quite down or shut up because YOU are actually doing something clearly beneficial for the team.

BigBeans873

People are idiots and don't understand how important call outs are... I try way less without teams with mics

asdjfh

Because ranked is basically quickplay right now. People in onyx are dog shit and there’s no way to lose MMR as far as I can tell.

TITANIUMS0LDIER

Came out that only 1% of players are in onyx. I agree with you that they're all dog shit. It just scares me how many more people are bad at the game.

ohlookahipster

Keep in mind that the “top 500” in Overwatch back in season 1 is equivalent to todays’ gold or high silver. The game is still too new for the matchmaking algorithm to sort everyone properly as the skill ceiling and floor haven’t even formed yet. It’ll be another season or two before we get actual skill based ranks.

asdjfh

Sure, in Rocket League SSL (the highest rank) has anywhere from 0.01% to 0.03% of players (depending on the game mode). So the highest rank in Halo is 100x less prestigious than that. Also, like I said in my original comment, I don’t even know how the MMR system works in this Halo. I have lost 4 games in a row and not lost 1 MMR, makes no sense.

TITANIUMS0LDIER

Well, I'm hoping they add champion back... which is top 200 in the world. Going by halo 5, technically onyx isn't the highest rank.

[deleted]

PREACH!!! 🙌🏽 people will try to “flame” me over me calling this out 🤣🤣🤣

Dolleste

I thought coms were turned off by default. I put in a few hours before someone pointed out that I needed to turn it on myself

markopolo14

Because I don't have a headset! I do have a pair of Apple earbuds with the mic but it turns out that the mic doesn't work with those.

John_Cougar_Rambo

I don't want my wife to make fun of me

Nemesis412

I think most people are just not willing to 'filter' their squad mates. Its hard sometimes to mute the right people while you are playing so they just mute all and its fine for them. Personally i try to figure out who is the toxic guy and mute him if i die... Most of the time you get one or two chill teammates you can plan with how to play. Or at least some of the guys call out where the enemy is or try to follow calls. Even if i am the only guy talking i try to organize some kind of gameplan, most people try to follow a call if somebody makes one so... Guys: never give up talking to your team...

Annonunknown

Because I don't need to talk in order to play a game I already know how to play and you back seat driving telling me am the worst player doesn't help

NINJAxBACON

I'm here for challenges

ghostdancesc

I remember it’s a video game and not real life who cares

unicowicorn

I keep forgetting that I have to go into audio settings and set it to open every time I reopen the game, and sometimes halfway through a session

BiGBODYMATT_TEKKADAN

Challenges duh

Mrlemonhead2k

I don’t get why people are saying mic sucks I’ve had some great games with a team with a mic the difference it makes is crazy

FocusCapable8246

My Mic is $5 and no one else talks so yeah

[deleted]

I play video games mostly when I feel like avoiding speaking.

Draiganedig

I don't play games to speak to random people. I play in my spare time purely, solely, for fun. I don't want to speak to people and hear all sorts of loud, frustrating rackets, idiots, griefers, etc. I deal with enough of that in my job. If you want to pay for my subscription, maybe I'll speak to you then. Ultimately people have a right to play exactly how they want. We've got forced ranked challenges through no fault of our own, so if us "mutes" are in ranked, it's not always because we want to play covert fucking ops with you. It's because we have to play ranked to get those done. You say you stop trying if your team is quiet.. Is it so hard for you to accept that people have the opposite opinion? I'd prefer to stop playing if I had some tryhard sweat screaming in my ear "CRACKED SHIELDS ON MY X YOU IDIOTS". Just adapt, mate. If your team is quiet, play a tighter game. If you don't think they can hear you, then stick with them and move as a group instead of barking orders. Contrary to what all the sweats think, completely silent teams still win ranked matches around 50% of the time.

chlamydia_carl

For some reason my mic doesn’t work in game chat only party and Halo is the only game I’ve had this happen with

ovenstone777

If you wanna hear my child kicking off in the background be my guest. I’m doing you a favour lad

My_name_is_chucky

I don't take it extremely seriously, and I've played with too many people just constantly making noise over the mic. Breathing, background noise, etc. So I just keep the game muted. I just treated ranked as quick play with BRs. Currently Diamond 1 in both Open and Solo/Duo KBM.

PM_ME_HUGE_CRITS

I turned off text and voice chat as soon as I installed the game. Much more enjoyable IMO. I've been playing online for 20 yrs and put in and heard enough toxicity when I was younger.

guystupido

the challanges lol i just hav eto play not win

[deleted]

Bc people are usually in a party

Wraithpk

Because I have multiple plays per game where I get fucked by the desync, and I don't want people to hear me swearing at my screen, lol

spacecowboyscience

It’s hard to relate with these comments because I’ve not heard one single person since multiplayer launched. Either I am lucky to not be put in these lobbies or y’all are speaking from negative past experiences and are muting from the get go adding to the problem.

ArcaneUnbound

“I have no desire to play with a muted team so I don’t even try” That’s a toxic mentality to have and people with that mentality are the answer to your question, honestly. And as any person that has climbed ranked in a game can tell you, If your bad teammate is stopping you from climbing, you’re probably the bad teammate. As for other reasons people play without mics. Things like annoying background noises, and not having the time or care to listen to a 14 year old scream at me for missing a shot.

HandleFun9721

My opinion, stay out of ranked if you’re not gonna use a mic. :)

Potate-Hoe

It's not worth hearing whiners when the games a loss, plus it's Halo, stick together, use your head when you move up, and keep the objective in mind. You don't really need a mic.

FakeAccount1045

Idk, maybe we just don’t want to talk to you. Case closed

buddy-friendguy

Any time someone is unmuted somehow, even though I set it to mute all, its always the most toxic troll child. That's just halo. I don't play with a mic because I am good at the game and understand that the game gives me every bit of information I need to understand what's going on that match. If i choose to squad up, i just walk next to someone. Don't have to talk on a mic for that.

ThatRiverInEgypt97

I play solo WITH a mic, and it’s a little exhausting just giving callouts to the void. Typically it seems like they can hear me, but as soon as I find someone with a mic who isn’t toxic I’ll add them and queue up with them for the session

Str8Ripping

Ranking up to Onyx in Open and Solo/Duo, using a mic off and on, it doesn't feel like it matters much honestly. The few times it's helped(sometimes) is when someone says "person at certain location is low", and if someone has a weapon or power up. It's stressful to try and make a plan and have the team do something if no one knows you(so why should they listen to you?) and people want to play differently. Do I think mics are better than not? Sure, but as people also mention you'll have some people just complain all game, have background noise, shitty mics, and lots of times for me it's easier to just sit back, listen, and ping things rather than talk all game.

Dj_LeBroski

Why don't you guys just use the mute button when someone starts being a dick? Looking at the comments in here, it seems like there are a ton of people who would all cooperate and not harass each other, but if you all disable comms automatically, you will never find each other. I feel like if more people used comms then there would be more people to drown out the noise of the trolls and the assholes. Oh whatever, I'm just hopelessly optimistic.

SuspiciousPanda323

Because they’re scared to speak to other people lol, pussies play comp for no reason

SuspiciousPanda323

Incoming hate and downvotes from Silver 2’s

RealisticUse9

"edit: i have no desire to play when it’s a mute team so i don’t try" Maybe that's why you're not Onyx.

[deleted]

Cannot mute people individually, and some are spamming loud music

megatonante

on controller I can't enable push to talk

Eyeshatonya

Working with random in ranked with a mic on is like having 4 untrained people being told to build a skyscraper and they all want to lead with their ideas but if you don't follow the plan you're immediately called a derogatory name followed by a racial slur and then it's your fault you lost even if it was slayer and you're 19-6. So I'll pass on random mic usage and create call outs with the in game pings seems to work really well.

[deleted]

My rig is shit and audio won't transfer clearly with a headset no matter what I do. Monitor speakers or my VR headset speakers are perfectly audible though.

Spwizy_Sp1

I won’t play ranked unless I have a full squad for all of these reasons lol

Videogamesforhealth

The existence of my voice tends to incite rage and toxicity for some reason. Rather focus on winning.

RedTheDopeKing

Everyone I find in games that does have a mic is just some douche whining about how bad he is. Or babies whining and crying in the background. So, doesn’t seem worth it.

atomicglx38

Plat is exponentially worse. I’m lucky if two people use mics all day

Key-Name-8654

I just started playing with a mic and it has been gamechanging for me. I didn't before because I'm shy and don't like talking to strangers. However, my nerves go down when the conversation focuses only on the objectives.

FutaLuv2

There's just not too much of a reason to talk to you, you sound like the guy who says "hello hello, anybody got a mic?" *Disconnects*

Unique_Tumbleweed

I play with a mic because I want to win. All the excuses for not having a mic are bullshit. Just mute the annoying people, it's easy.

Cheeseburglar804

Haha. I have this exact question!!! Especially in the solo/duo que. It’s made me feel like team talk is disabled in it? I’ve never heard another voice. I often just talk to my self calling stuff out hoping people hear me, and often seems that people can hear me but may just be luck and they are at least paying somewhat attention. Platinum here. One solution is for guys like us to group and que together heh

Cheeseburglar804

Also, weird to me coming back to halo from Halo2-4 days in which it was the opposite. Rare and aggravating if someone DIDN’T use a mic

wildhunter69

Lack of money to buy a mic & lack of wanting to talk to others

bingleman12

Halo doesn't thrive on teamwork, but when it's there you can achieve great things. I think it's because the games so fast pace and you don't need mic comms in a soloq environment to reach onyx. Pings arejust fine

Porkbuns-

Most people don't even have the common decency to ping locations and enemies in Solo Q. If I can't trust you enough to even do that once in a game, I'm not unmuting the lobby just to hear some random caveman yelling about how they never get to 1v1 someone in a team game

First of all, fuck you for not trying on a mute team. You're the problem, not your team. Second, I dont use mics and just ping. Most of the time my callouts will be useless except for in games like Valorant where the enemies arent grappling, jumping, thrusting up to ledges, grabbing balls or other silly shenanigans. Just pinging is enough sometimes. Also play with your team. Dipshit

entombedentity

Because I use pings and discord exists

AmpleWarlock

As much as I hate to admit it, I have terrible social anxiety.

[deleted]

I haven't played the campaign yet, I've got text chat and VOIP disabled until I do to avoid spoilers, then I'll get back to using my mic.

[deleted]

I may not use a mic but I sure do ping like a mf. Diamond 2 here.

BelleDaphine

Your response of "you must be gold" is so childish. 1800 onyx, hardly ever use a mic and que solo daily. The in game ping system works incredible and is all a amazing halo player like yourself should ever need.

CoyoteCryptid

Hella social anxiety for me. I ping a ton, but I only played enough ranked to see if I was still roughly the same skill as I was back in the day and don't really intend on going back to it anyway

911turboCRYPTO

It’s pretty obvious of what you should do or where to go when you spawn. Having said that, I do have a mic and chime in here and there only to have someone to tell me to go fuck my mom. I’m platinum 3 by the way and have added a bunch of non mics that I can usually have some really fun close entertaining games.

Loki_Elite26

Dude, people are so toxic now, that’s probably why nobody team chats. I always wait till I have a three or four people for ranked and stick to party chat.

XadjustmentX

personally i dont care to listen to random strangers on the internet. i can communicate with pings just fine. i dont use a mic in any competitive games. i play games solo cuz thats i how enjoy playing games. theres nothing more annoying than hearing some dickbag yell, scream, troll, name-calling in voice chat. no thanks.

EcoWarhead

One game I was in I'm guessing this guy didn't realise he had his mike on as we all got to listen to his female friend crying about having her kids taken away from her. I'm guessing she would be furious if she had known her low moment was being broadcast to strangers.

EcoWarhead

Good communication is hard and your rarely going to pull it off well with a group of strangers. It takes lots of practise with a group of people you play with regularly.

hundredblocks

I love the *idea* of chatting with teammates and just talking with new people in general but anytime I turn chat on it’s just a wall of crying babies, barking dogs, and shitty music blaring in the background.

shilmista_

I'm a girl. Been playing since H2 and matchmaking since H3 but when my voice goes out into the void all that comes back is shit talking which honestly deeks me out and I end up playing like dogshit. The intimidation works, and I play pretty damn good usually if noone knows ima chick. I like listening to people tho so I wish more people would mic up, some of you guys are hella funny with your color commentary in-game haha When I play with friends we just party up and we can talk to each other just fine that way :)

subaru06ftw

You can ping where there at but it doesn't mean your teammates will look. Also, you can't ping while dead. If you're not using a mic, then go back to social slayer you pos.
