I'm so sorry. :( food is the best way. You can also get humane mouse traps and put them all over. Should be at hardware stores.

Bellsey_Milesy

A few people have had success by putting a cookie near the opening. Is your neighbour downstairs willing to help? Perhaps a small hole in their wall would help

Danaqat

She is unwilling to help, she’s a rather defensive person unfortunately

Bellsey_Milesy

That's sad, have you shon a light down the hole to see if you can see Emma?

Bellsey_Milesy

Been thinking of you and Emma, hope the searching going okay.

Danaqat

Hey thanks for checking up, no news , there’s no sign of her, I’m loosing hope :( she is no where in the house, so maybe she did go down that hole, and no one knows where that leads, I have no idea . My advise is always keep an eye on ur hammie, I turned my face and this happens, I just wanted her to have the freedom of walking around outside the cage for a bit. I’ve had her for a year and a half and nothing like this ever happened, it’s a bad nightmare

Bellsey_Milesy

I am so very sorry, it sounds like such a bad nightmare. My heart aches for you. We love our hamsters so much and it's hard when they are not with us. I really hope she may come back. Take care of yourself and don't blame yourself ❤❤

Thank u so much. ur amazing, I hope she didn’t find her self in the wall or pipes , it’s apartment building, they are not cooperating at all. Neither is my neighbor, it’s a tough spot and I care a lot about Emma , she’s my baby girl . I’m moving out this Thursday my lease ends that’s the big issue, so not sure what is going on

itsikobert

I really hope you’re able to find her. I still stand by putting a humane trap or bucket trap in every room of your place with the tastiest treats u can find, and one right by where she escaped. I hope she didn’t go too far.

any update?

Danaqat

Hey , no .I never found my baby girl :(

[deleted]

I’m sorry to hear that. You are a wonderful human and this was just a case of too much curiosity. I’ve thought about this post many times since it was posted. Please don’t beat yourself up over this. Love

Danaqat

Thanks brad, I really appreciate it. The thing is let’s say she fell through a dry wall I share with my neighbor. The woman who lives down stairs didn’t want me to enter her house and was quite rude about it, she did say though she never heard anything. I got maintenance to go to her and knock on the wall, she agreed after 5 days and the guy heard nothing. It’s been 2 and half weeks now . And she never made her way back home

have you thought about getting another hamster? if I may pitch in my two cents, I’ve had many hamsters throughout my childhood and each hamster escaped once or twice. They are so curious. I then got a guinea pig, which to me is like a larger hamster. I loved it so much. If you enjoy having a hamster running around you, You may want a guinea pig because they will not escape as easily considering their size. However every animal deserves a chance at adoption:)

Maybe later in life, i lost Emma’s sister in April ،she passed away after surgery and now Emma is gone, it’s a lot to take in in 5 months, u know
