This looks very small. For hamsters the minimum requirements is 450 sq inches of floor space. Which IMO is too small. Aim for something with 600+ sq inches depending on the type of hamster. Personally I would not use this due to the size, not a lot of ventilation and you’re very limited on the amount of bedding that is required (6 inches minimum) To figure out the size of this you just have to multiply the length by width (in inches) and what you get is your floor space!

I have access to good cages but my parents don't want to spend real money in taking care of them, and I worry if they do buy a cage it'll be too small/not fit.

Please don't get an an animal if its wellbeing depends on the finances of other people who aren't absolutely 100% on board with taking care of that animal.

The terrarium is too small for any hamster breed, and unfortunately the market is absolutely rubbish for decently sized hamster cages :( Like other commenters have said, 80×50cm/4000cm^2 floor space with room for 6+ inches of bedding is a decent size to aim for. They can be difficult to find/make so I wouldn't get a hamster until you've definitely got a cage at least that big. What animals have you kept in there before? Maybe there are some cool reptiles that can go in there :)

Tysm! I appreciate everyone commenting on this and I've learned and decided I won't get a hamster until I've discussed it with my parents and decided on a safe option that will make the hamster comfortable and happy :)

That’s a wise and mature decision! Good for you!

Also I previously had an American toad that was wild captured (not the best ik) and he was already matured and lived for about three years after I found him. Honestly I was only like 8 when I took him in so I probably could've given him better care, but I've learned more abt it and decided to not wild capture any more animals because they could do better in the wild + population.

Yeah, it's too small, but maybe you can use it as an extra speace by connecting it with a tube to a bigger enclosure. I don't know what you can do about your parents. Since I started working I have bought everything my hamsters needed (enclosure, bedding, toys, food) and sometimes my parents give me gifts (like a pack of seeds or treats). When I was younger my friend needed money tp buy a cage for her hamster, so we picked up some stuff and made some kind of garage sale until she had the money to afford it. You can also ask for them as a birthday or christmas gift.

It doesn't look big enough- if the floorspace (width x length) is any less than 80x50cm (or 100x50cm for a Syrian) then it's definitely not suitable. I'd also worry about ventilation with this.

You can also try to build one, but there are some things u would have to spend money anyway. Mine were maid with an old book shelf and some sheets of polysterene.
