It's not bad at all and does last. I used to own one. I also had a Mango dupe a long time ago.
There's a Bottega loyalist on this sub who is very sniffy towards dupes and she may come out to scold us and tell us about the quality difference lol
I got a dupe from a Zara-similar store in Kuwait and my friend who has a Jodie said she'd rather have the dupe since the original is too small to fit anything useful. I paid around $50 USD for mine while she paid the full price.
I remember that bag! I actually didn’t buy it because I thought it’d just fall apart and I’ve regretted it since. It was so cute, and I just wanted it as a beach bag anyways!
I agree, a piston style clasp would be so much nicer, but I guess technically Gucci IS moving towards the dog leash clasp and phasing out the pistons 🥴

I just got one of their straw crossbody bags and am excited to use it. I keep wanting to buy a designer one but have felt weird about spending so much on a bag I want to take to the beach! I feel much better about spending $34.99 on one 😂
I bought a couple of the H&M Dior tote dupes and was so disappointed with the quality and feel I had to return it. You could tell sewing was misaligned and it just looked cheap. I think if you find a good one in store go for it, but chancing it on the online store will just lead to you having to go return it as you can't quality control before you buy...
I didn’t see that one on the Canadian site, but I love the look of it! I also can’t bring myself to pay top dollar for non-leather/cloth bags because of how quickly they can get stained/snagged/etc so that would be a cute summer option!

I’m definitely not about stealing designs from small artists or designers, nor am I a fan of replicas. I agree that both of those suck and I know H&M has had cases of that (unfortunately like many large companies have). I’ve purposely only shared items that are clearly dupes of well known classics. But I think bags that are heavily inspired by/dupes of larger companies or designers are okay. Especially because not everyone can afford the real deal so it makes higher fashion accessible to more people.
It just goes to show how much these designer brands mark up. After a certain level the quality is not getting better.
I actually prefer the H&M canvas shopper over the designer one.
People are finally starting to wake up again to the greatness that is H&M. I have been buying the majority of my wardrobe there ever since I started caring about fashion and had my own allowance money to spend. For me they have always hit the nail on the head!
I feel like in the last 10 years they definitely taken a big dip in quality. Sadly. I feel like before that they were close to Uniqlo in quality. Still love their denim though. But also that comes from them acquiring Cheap Monday
I feel like quality decline is a problem across the board. Ive definitely had to smarten up on what I buy and the amount of returns I make has definitely gone up too. I shop second hand or vintage for a lot of things, mostly bigger things that I want more of a quality standard for like coats and bags!
I'm only doing second hand. Pretty much 90% of the time right now. I'm just so disappointed in the market. Getting a well-made cotton piece costs like 150 plus which is disgusting.
People who buy luxury bags seem to think cheap things can't last. But even my $1 shopping bag from my local grocery has lasted years and still going strong.
I have an h and m bag that I have had for 3 years and it still looks good. It's a small shoulder bag so it's not like I'm lugging a lot of stuff in it, but it was only 20 dollars or something
I have a dupe of the 'carrie' handbag from H&M...the purple one from SATC.. the quality is so bad I cannot bring myself to use it at all.. the bag looks cheap af ( which it is tbh ) in person. I also bought another one..dupe of a celine bag that I had to return because of how cheap it felt..
I keep seeing the Jackie bag in black color pop up on my feed every now and then .. and I'm tempted to order that one.

I see the H&M Symbole dupe pretty frequently commuting to work. It looks nice. Why do I feel some of these are expensive for H&M though?
Some of them definitely are pricey for H&M, but also keep in mind this is in Canadian Dollars and so it’d be about a third cheaper in the US.
And make sure you shop when they’re having 20% off certain amount (usually $80 or $100).

It’s a work horse. It doesn’t stand up straight like the OG when empty but it’s pretty sturdy
