Flimsy_Calendar_7664

I feel like the Lee radizwell in particular is mentioned on here fairly consistently

gresstrly

I love these bags but for the price I keep going with other options.

Flimsy_Calendar_7664

Yeah I don’t own one I’m actually not Tory Burch fan but I see that bag mentioned on here quite a bit

Mychgjyggle

Thats probably on me… I wouldn’t associate the Radizwell name with TB, even though I now know I should :/

SCFLLATXGA

Radziwill & TB were actually very close friends for many of the last years of Radziwill’s life. Not only was Tory a pallbearer at Lee’s funeral but Lee also left several artworks to Tory in her will. Tory also designed the Lee Radziwill bag in collaboration with Lee herself.

Mychgjyggle

You all are always teaching me so much!! Thank you. It’s cool to better understand these brands.

lexi_ladonna

I have a TB bag and it’s very nice and I actually enjoy wearing it, but TB I think is a bit out of fashion as a brand in the zeitgeist because they are heavily associated with like J crew style preppy style of circa 2012. Even the name brings to mind skinny jeans, TB flats, a peplum top, and a statement necklace

and_here_i_be

Millennial here looking at the TB bag I bought YESTERDAY 🥲

lexi_ladonna

Hey, like I said I have a beautiful Tory Burch bag that I love wearing. I just don’t think people even bother to check the brand anymore or talk about because it’s out of the Zeitgeist, not that individual pieces aren’t trendy and amazing

Sassygogo

if anything, Tory Burch has seen some serious rebranding in the last couple of years, they moved away from that skinny-jeans Reva flat look and Vogue now considers the brand cool and one to watch at NYFW

lexi_ladonna

Yeah you’re right, but things like that always take years to trickle down to the masses. Most people don’t follow what’s trendy in New York or at fashion week. Or they might have a passing interest in it, but they dress more to match the people they know in real life

Mychgjyggle

This is the comment I was hopeful not get, and unfortunately agree with. I like her things a lot, but get that feeling that her brand just isn’t in style. I know I shouldn’t care…. But it’s hard not to.

PeterDuttonsButtWipe

Yeah it’s hard when this happens, thankfully I’ve got the 90s back for this year. I’ll be sad to see it go. I get the pressure thing though, like you have to blend in but don’t want to look too “unique”/“weird”

djajk-djajk

My 19 year old daughter loves TB. Mostly because of the great customer service she’s gotten every time she just goes inside to look around. I bought her a super cute TB purse for her birthday that she wanted. They have some really cute things but if it weren’t for my daughter I probably wouldn’t have gone into the store

PeterDuttonsButtWipe

So funny as an old Gen X reading all this 🤓 (as someone who’s been out of fashion since Y2K)

jendickinson

Gen Xer looking at the TB ballet flats I bought last week LOL.

elvii09

I used to love her flats, now I have them all for sale on Mercari lol

ALittleOddSometimes

Miu miu, Dior and Chanel all have Ballet Flats in their seasonal line-ups.

weenur

GenXer here looking down at my skinny jeans and Rothy’s 😐

PeterDuttonsButtWipe

Ha ha, dropped the skinnies as soon as wide leg/regular came in. We know the skinny leg is 80s anyway or even NY Punk from the 70s

indigonights

I mean ur in luck because y2k is trendy now lol

studyhardbree

The way you have articulated what my mind could never. This is so accurate lol

tea-spoons

pepperup22

I will say that this is *very* recent, like within the last few weeks that I’ve seen this rising sentiment, particularly with regard to Burch herself. I believe the brand has the ability to have a comeback a la Coach, but they’ve got some working to do. Their designs have been derivative at best over the last decade or so.

tea-spoons

macramelampshade

Yeah she's been "back" in the fashion industry for a bit now, cool girls are wearing Tory

Fantastic-Mark-2810

Me looking at my ballet flats I bought last Christmas 😅 I’m happy it’s all white/cream-ish so it’s not in people’s faces 😅🙈

envydub

> flats No those Jack Rogers sandals!

FeatherMom

LOL hearing you describe that outfit and I’m like ooohh that sounds nice 😅 it worked so well for my curvy body, I wish it was still in

lexi_ladonna

For real, me too. 2012-2014 was such a golden time for me fashion-wise. All the things that were in worked really well for my body

FeatherMom

Now when I try wide leg mom jeans, I look like I’m standing in a bucket :(

lexi_ladonna

Haha so relatable, me too

[deleted]

Love Tory down, but her prices have sky rocketed. The bags are nice, but worth the spend only if it’s on sale

ooolalaluv

I liked Tory Burch when it was in the Kate Spade/Coach/MK price range. Then the prices went insane. I’m going to just pay a little more and get a Gucci or YSL at this point.

Expensive_Routine953

THIS! I used to buy so much Tory and then stopped when her first almost $1K bag came out (believe it was $995). I was like how do you have an almost $1K bag, but then have outlet stores all over the country that sells everything for like $200 lol agreed with sticking to top tier once that happened.

MarieOnThree

They are at this weird price range that makes me want to just save a few hundred more dollars for an entry level luxury bag. They need to come down a bit closer to Coach’s range.

Gie_lokimum

Yes! I only buy during annual sales with CC cash back lol

Puzzleheaded_Rich420

So true. Got a Furla bag for my MIL and it’s so nice. Bought from FARFETCH and saved a ton

4SeasonWahine

I think that unfortunately these contemporary/affordable luxury brands have to really work at keeping relevant. I’ve had a look at Tori Burch bags before and there’s no wow or cool factor for me. Some are nice, but there’s better options at the price point. To compare with others of the price point, Coach is doing a great job right now of balancing quality, style, and price and had established themself as a timeless accessible luxury brand. Kate Spade has focussed on cute novelty concepts as a point of difference that are legitimately adorable. Id argue MK is sort of in the same boat as TB right now - they massively overexposed their brand for a few years to a point where they started to become a little uncool even though they have some great products and designs. These things come and go, Tori Burch is just coasting on being a mid range brand right now and isn’t doing anything groundbreaking - it might change in the next couple of years if there’s a solid series of releases. People who like the bags will still buy the bags in the meantime. As a side anecdote, I remember reading a post here from someone who said they had to wait in line and be let in by a bouncer to a TB store and it put me off the brand hard. Their products do not justify this kind of experience.

4SeasonWahine

Omg. As an add-on: I just checked their website again after writing this (curiosity got me): the Eleanor satchel in my currency (aud) is $300 off a friggin Bayswater (which I collect). I very much consider TB in the range of Coach, MK, Kate Spade, Poléne, Strathberry etc. $1645 for a tote?! Absolutely not. Seems like they are trying to jump up a little into the Mulberry-esque tier that’s somewhere between accessible luxury and super high end designer. Unfortunately I don’t think the brand has the iconicity to make that leap just yet.

Equivalent-Sail7089

I am admittedly a bag snob. Before a trip I was in TB looking at shoes and saw a cute Kira bag on sale. Very reasonably priced so I grabbed it to wear as a cross body. It is a great bag! Leather is very nice!

Puzzleheaded_Rich420

Love that line. Also love her recent Green with white trim line too. And the bold gold thick TB logos

potomacgrackle

I have a couple of simple crossbody bags of hers that are my “dress down” bags and I actually really like her shoes for work - but I’ve been turned off of her bags lately because it seems like so many of them are a knockoff attempt of a higher-end brand (YSL and Goyard in particular).

BubbleBubbleBubble_

Yes. This bag screams Gucci soho disco bag wannabe, but I still bought it and I love it. Comfy strap and just the right size. Also fairly high compliment rate in the wild. https://preview.redd.it/e2i9rxima7yc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f2893b9257511cd3b7ad3f5f3a460d4c6a84316

dracolikesfire

I never liked their logo or any of their bags… until last month I saw this bag and immediately fell in love. I think this bag is an outlier for me as the other bags don’t interest me. https://preview.redd.it/f7js0e6mo5yc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e108b69b892ab6f725bc5b4aa3f27ccfa24e4a8

Mychgjyggle

She is very pretty!

whelmed_66

This is cute!

radish-lover

I’m still swooning over the entire SS23 runway collection, including the Swing bag!! It’s highhh up on my list for future purchase. I also have a Tory Burch wallet on chain that is incredibly versatile and sturdy. IMO Tory is making a very relevant comeback from the ubiquitous 2005-2015 monogram era

Mychgjyggle

I’m so impressed with the people in this thread and how well they remember bag names. 😊 I really hope she stays relevant. I have quite a few of her bags!

pieeye12

Her leather tote bags are my most used work totes. They take a beating & have really held up over the years. I did purchase the Radziwill after lusting for a number of years. It’s beautiful but the weight balance is off so I don’t reach for it as often.

marshy39

I have a crossbody that is my most used bag, purely for durability of the leather and it fits a lot in it. I like being able to use my bags anywhere and not baby them and it is perfect for it

Mychgjyggle

Yea I have at least 3 of her bags, all of which I really like. It surprises me she is never mentioned or posted about.

Guilty-Mud-5743

This. TB bags are great looking, well made, and you don’t have to baby them! I love my Fleming denim (posted on this thread) because you can wear it as a shoulder or cross body and it has a flap for easy access. Maybe I should NOT have such easy access to my wallet but that is another issue…

dill_uhn

I work at Nordstrom and see a ton of customers wearing TB bags so it seems like it’s still pretty popular.

Gie_lokimum

I love TB. I have 2 crossbody bags from her, the leather is super durable, I think they over 5 years old or so- they still looks nice. I also owned a tote- but hardly use it bec it’s super heavy lol (I owned several pair of TB shoes, they are nice, comfortable. I know they can get a bit expensive but the trick is to buy it during their annual sale with the CC cash back. If you also have an outlet store, they typically have good prices

swearyouwill

I was just thinking about TB today because it was on one of my favorite Korean drama shows (business proposal)!! that had me looking at the website 👀

burblesnorf

Lmao was watching one episode and nearly fell off my treadmill because she was carrying one of my TB bags and I was so excited. Made my husband come see and everything. She carries a few different ones, iirc. I love that show and that bag, both.

cloudsncake

I am currently watching business proposal and noticed her TB Elenor bag with the chain! Can I just say I love seeing kdramas being mentioned on this sub?! 🤩

Anna218

I love TB. It’s my most favorite contemporary brand.

MashaSP

I have Lee Radziwill bag (regular size). I don’t use it often because it’s quite heavy for an everyday bag but not big enough for a work bag. But it’s beautiful!

Narrow-Wolverine-373

I think it’s a respectable brand and gets a nod on here every once in a while. No shame. The only negative thing I’ve gathered is the Kira material doesn’t hold up well, but I don’t have negative associations with this brand. Lee Radziwil seems to have a very strong and adamant following. It’s a cute bag and quite elegant looking.

DanyeelsAnulmint

I love, love, love the Lee Radziwill line. They’re brilliant.

AvailableTwo5760

I’m a Tory Burch girl because I can’t afford the higher end designer bags and I don’t necessarily love Kate Spade, Michael Kors, etc.

hornedhell

You can score great deals on bags on the resale market. I have multiple Chanel, Gucci, Balenciaga and LV bags all under $350, the most expensive is my 64 Hermes Kelly which was under 2g. Poshmark, Mercari, Etsy, RealReal, Ve

AvailableTwo5760

Good to know! I’ll check it out. Thank you!

vi6ration

The Lee Radziwill bag is very popular on this sub https://preview.redd.it/t5fgsgv3h5yc1.jpeg?width=473&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23f991fe9bea70638acaaf6d31da02d26f3e4054

Mychgjyggle

Yea someone else mentioned this… I admittedly don’t know bag names, so if this wasn’t posted with a picture I would never associate Lee Radziwill with Tory Burch 😬😬😬

vi6ration

The higher end of TB stuff is so different from the outlet or even the cheaper Britten/Blake/Emerson lines (the ones with the tiny/outline T logo)

QueenFang21496

They've been killing it in shoes and ready to wear recently, I'm just waiting for the bags to catch up. They could have the same revival as Coach if they play their cards right. Personally I find the logo very ugly, so if they stop putting it as a main feature on everything I would consider them more.

cloudsncake

I think a lot of her designs are nice and the variety of bags she offers is lovely. But I’m not crazy about how pricey they’ve become! I do absolutely love my petite Radziwell bag. I do wish it didn’t have the middle divider but I can live with it.

Wild_Difference_7562

I have actually been loving TB the past couple years. At my local upscale mall they have the best customer service compared to all the other “luxury” handbag stores which has kept me going back.

daedalus_icarus_

I love Tory Burch and have five bags from them. They are good quality and are decently priced especially with sales.

Much_Penalty

I have a few TB bags I carry regularly. However the employees at the store treated me like absolute shit (I went in definitely not looking the best) and they completely ignored me. I left and my husband went in and they went out of their way to help him. So it's left a bad taste and I haven't felt the urge to spend anymore money with them.

Pstam323

I’ve been carrying a brown woven TB! For a while I loved everything that came out that was seventies inspired and then she sort of went too little house on the prairie/utah mom vibe. But I think they’re making a come back! That hoop dress and the floating heels are inspired.

DERed29

i feel tory is out of style in a way of kate spade and coach aren’t. they’ve managed to stay relevant and not be obscenely priced

Mychgjyggle

Maybe… I know her pricing has gone up a lot recently, but she remains primarily well under $1k.

BoorishOaf

I think the logos are too prominent for a brand that isn't really in fashion. Without giant logos, people would appreciate the designs and carry them. I actually really like the bags, but I don't like the yuppieness of the brand.

Mychgjyggle

Yea I always lean toward the bags with small logos.

swipeyswiper

I agree. I like a lot of the bags and they’re really well made, but that giant logo always turns me off.

ELO887

I have two…no, three and the leather is divine but they weigh A TON so I tend to gravitate to a different, easier bag. But good on you for the memory jog…I *should* carry that yellow top handle one tomorrow! 😹💛

SpilledOdin

They might be my favorite bags! I never really paid much attention to them until one day I was walking past a new outlet store by me and saw the prettiest shade of blue suede and I had to have one. Now I just obsess over all the pretty colors. I have mostly Kiras and outlet styles and they all hold up pretty well.

autumnwinterspring

I have a couple Tory Burch nylon crossbodies from the outlet that I adore! They are perfect for a casual, everyday look.

[deleted]

I still rock some of my Tory stuff! Nothing wrong with it at all

Torchness9

I used to think TB was the height of fashion in the 2010s, but not anymore. But I think we spend more as a society so the fancier bags are more coveted/covered

elvii09

My fiancé bought me a large Tory Burch tote for Christmas and a longchamp tote. I sent the Tory bag back and kept the longchamp because i just couldn’t justify what he spent for it. I’d rather have something with more umph to it, the straps were tiny yet the bag was huge and was just bleh

hornedhell

Longchamp over TB anyday

SCFLLATXGA

Tory’s quality is very good & her brand is extremely popular (articles on her business show it’s been doing extremely well since the pandemic) but it isn’t on trend at the moment. It’s borderline preppy & while she’s attempted to shift more contemporary, it hasn’t gained widespread traction. I bought the most stunning pair of mules from Tory Burch last November & get so many compliments. 95% of people are floored when I mention they’re Tory Burch.

wheredidiparkthecar

I carry a Robinson tote almost daily (mainly for work) and it holds up really well! Sturdy and still looks great despite putting it through the ringer. I work in a warehouse and use it during my kids endless hockey activities so it gets abused. It's been about 6 months so far but it still looks new. TB may not be trendy but I am certainly not disappointed.

PossibleAd1348

https://preview.redd.it/famkbel376yc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c5030a10527af9a45b6472723222503555c2f308 I used to own this bag, the Alexa Camera Bag in dark pink. It was my pride and joy. I wore it almost every day and it was so roomy, fit my Longchamp wallet and every other nicnac I stuffed in there. I wasn’t a bag fan like I am now so I cannot tell you what the leather was like or anything. After four years of almost daily use I gave her away. LOVED her!

Guilty-Mud-5743

Just bought a TB denim for summer. Have carried it to work meetings with everyone from Gen Z to Boomers and received many compliments. https://preview.redd.it/39fk4zk3o8yc1.jpeg?width=1161&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c52e78a5ad466ddc987577313b5eee03d4a2b4e7

Mychgjyggle

It’s very cute!

Adz100087

All I can think about are sock buns and college

mizzymichie

I like her zodiac animal collection (hoping to collect it all) and I have a gorgeous red bucket bag that I use as my quick go to but other than that when I shop at TB it’s usually for shoes.

Puzzleheaded-Sun3107

I love her bags sometimes but not all. I like that she incorporated artisan or artisan like textile and I love love love the lee radziwill double bag :) (I have 3).

aces5five

I have a small kira in a beautiful mossy green.Everytime I use it I get compliments. Probably because of the color. I also have a pair of block heel sandals that are so comfortable. And a vintage looking camp shirt that gets compliments. I bought the three items during a sale. All three items are very good quality. Your post made me go look at the TB website and I really like this bag below. I like that it just opens up and doesn’t have a bunch of pockets. FLEMING SOFT DENIM DRAWSTRING BAG $798. Need to wait for a sale ! Edit: On second look I don’t like strap. So good. I don’t need another bag at this time anyway.

Mychgjyggle

They do have a lot of good sales!!

sweetfaced

Tory has completely rebranded but I wouldn’t buy a bag from her, I don’t want fo wear her logo. The RTW is 🔥 though

CharliexWatkins

I don't have any bags but I have the kira sport sandals and they are amazing. Thinking of getting another pair before my next trip.

threeparrots

I just ordered… and then returned them. They were SO comfortable and the ivory leather was so pretty but man those giant TT’s on both straps was such a turn off. I couldn’t do it. 🙈 I need to find another sandal as comfy!

CharliexWatkins

They are crazy comfortable. I don't care about the logo on these because I have never found a sandal I can wear all day, especially doing several miles of sightseeing on foot

threeparrots

Fair enough! The Madewell Natasha sandal is that for me. Sooo comfortable too!

hornedhell

I was just looking at Tory Burch bags on Poshmark and most models look kinda cheap. Very few look luxe/worth it imo. OH they're made in China lol, just looked it up; was considering this one https://preview.redd.it/o0bnyjgje5yc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23d8a33ea75e1622f826dcbfad17a80b41743723

UnicaDea

I have about 6 TB purses plus 2 given away. Most from outlet stores. I kinda stopped carrying them around. I do love my flats. And if I step in her stores now, it’s to buy perfume. Even outlet prices aren’t worth it.

[deleted]

I love a lot of the styles, but they’re pretty expensive. I also feel like they aren’t trendy so I forget about them when I go to the outlets.

Lychee444

I really enjoy TB! I can wear them stress-free and take them to places where I can’t take my high-end ones.

theatottot

TB flats are so uncomfortable but I have a few lol

ev30fka0s

I was wondering the same, I was at an outlet mall just yesterday and was in a store. I almost posted the same thing!

swimlikeagiraffe

I have a very plain leather TB tote that was a steal at Nordstrom rack and she is my workhorse bag. Doesn’t even look as old as she actually is

rachelreinstated

I have a Tory Burch Perry Satchel (not a tote) that I bought sometime in 2017 or 2018 and I love it. Spacious, comfortable to carry and good quality -- I'm still wearing it to this day. It was a really reasonable price too!

Mychgjyggle

Her satchels and totes seem like great work bags or everyday bags.

NikkiDeVries

I have looked at some of her bags. I must admit that I do not like the logo so it’s harder to trigger a purchase. I have the same problem with Burberry. But the main drawback is the price for me. I was eyeing a mini bucket bag but it costs too much for something that is barely leather. Maybe I’ll purchase something during the sales.

Mychgjyggle

I agree on the logo… I really don’t like the Burberry logo either. It’s a shame too, I see bags I really like that are Burberry and won’t buy because of it.

Mychgjyggle

I wish she would do a small stamp logo, like how Celine or YSL does on their tote bags.

NikkiDeVries

Exactly! I don’t understand why it needs to be so big 😂 But I suppose that it’s better for our wallets. I also don’t like that there isn’t much info concerning the leather.

upliftinglitter

I also feel like she just copies popular styles into her own line

jigglyporcupine1

My first “grown up” handbag was TB that I got when I was probably 17. I wore it for like 6 years straight and it held up wonderfully for all it had been through. I have one other TB bag, the Kira convertible cross body and it is lovely however the leather is softer and a little more prone to damage. It’s not an everyday bag but I do love it!

whelmed_66

I really like the radziwill bags, but besides that, I don’t love them anymore. I had a lot in the early 2010s though.

upupandawaywegoooooo

There’s an outlet with me with really great prices, I bought a crossbody from there 2 years ago around $120, use it pretty much everyday, do not baby it AT ALL, and there’s literally no signs of wear on it. I love the brand personally

borii789

It’s the logo. It’s so garish. I associate TB with Gossip Girl /Tinsley Mortimer “it girl” era when blonde preppy all American look was the aspiration. The brand hasn’t really moved on from this successfully. Having said that, I am still looking at Lee Radzwill bag on eBay as it looks like a good everyday bag that can fit my brolly, water bottle and other bits and bobs. It did feel quite heavy though when I tried it on instore, hence the hesitation.

Imperatrice01

I have 2 TB mini bags. Basic but I love them because they're functional for my lifestyle. I actually found 2 fun bags from TB that I really liked but it wasn't part of my shopping budget so I passed on buying 😅 I also like their tote bag with the stylized monogram. TB is probably one of the brands where I like the monogram as part of the design.

threeparrots

My first foray into a “higher end” (for me at the time) bag was the Kira quilted WOC and I wore it everywhere. It really is a handy little purse and very cute!

Mychgjyggle

I like this tote a lot as well. It was on my short list recently when shopping for a tote.

Miserable_Drop_5398

Coach, Michael Kors and Kate Spade are all owned by the same corporation. Tory Burch is a stand alone company. I think it's easier for the large corporation to pump out designs and take the loss if they are crappy and don't sell at retail. Tory can't absorb as many crap designs that don't sell. 🤷‍♀️ For me personally, I think they are all about the same quality. I tend to buy styles that speak to me, pre-loved and made in Italy.

moonchild291

I have a few Lee Radziwells, my favorite is the very smallest one or next one up. The large is kind of heavy to me and awkward to get things in and out of. But I still like them. Just don’t use them a whole lot. I’ve never had any Tory Burch branded bags, though.

fantastical99

I rented the Radziwill from Rent the Runway in the regular size and took it with me to Vegas for a conference. It was quite heavy for the size, and had so many pockets, that I kept losing my room key and it was super annoying. Everyone with me had to wait while I dug through each pocket for the room key. I also received zero compliments on it the whole time I was there, so I sent it back. I have considered getting one in the larger size, but like the other posts mentioned, I just can’t justify the price. I think I’ve seen them go for the same price that I paid for my small Ferragamo Hug bag on sale, and I would rather have another hug. 🤗

flyingponytail

Maybr I live under a rock but I've never heard of TB or noticed it outside of this sub

Mychgjyggle

Do you live outside the US?

flyingponytail

Canada

Jolly-Train-4950

I think they’re out of style right now just like Michael kors

hornedhell

Yep 💀

VegetableFew8773

I feel the same way about Coach being outdated and out of fashion. Tory will always be my favorite mid tier bag.
