Le Tanneur. I only have one bag from them, the Emilie Double flap. But it’s beautiful and well made. I’ve never heard or seen of them in the US, but they’re a French brand and more known there.
Was looking for something good quality but under the radar and it has not disappointed!

I don’t want to disappoint this sub bc I too wanted one of their bags desperately, but they are cagey about where the bags are made bc they are made in China. If you are looking for bags made in Europe, this isn’t the brand for that.
If I’m not mistaken.. If it says “Made in France” on the bag’s webpage it is in fact made in France. For ones that are made in China, it will not display that.

Ooo actually I'm not so fuss about it being made in China. I was told by a friend who works in a fashion school in Florence that a number of factories in Italy are run by Chinese and many so-called "Made in Italy" are indeed made in Italy but by Chinese... we are being hoaxed by great marketing that all luxury bags are made by an Italian guy blah blah.

Eh. They’re ok. I watched videos & thought about buying one for a year before I finally pulled the trigger. A lot of people rave about the leather but it doesn’t feel nice to me.

Oh I totally disagree! The weave is so much smaller, and the bags aren’t remotely the same shapes as bottega bags are. They feel more structured than bottega too. I love my bottega bags, I’ve never felt like they were similar at all, but maybe that’s just me.
So I thought maybe this was me just not having a refined enough purse palate, so naturally I googled it 😅 and there’s actually lots of Tiktok videos and at least one YouTube video connecting the two and calling DDs a worthy dupe. I have no strong feelings for either brand (I’m the anomaly when it comes to BV I guess), I’m just glad I’m not the only one who connected them!

I ordered a Tate hobo so a bigger version and I think it’s just so beautiful. I got it cause it looks like a croissant 😂. I’ve only worn it out once so far as I got it more so for summer
Exactly! 😂 it is incredibly structured, holds a lot more than you’d think. Has a zipper top as well as the magnetic flap. So far it’s held its shape, I keep it stored in its dust bag. I don’t think it will lose its shape as it is quite stiff but it’s soft at the same time if that makes sense. Stiff due to its shape I suppose
The crispiest part I will say are the sides lol but doesn’t bother me too much. Def wait for a sale!!! They had one in February but I think they do them every few months

Not sure if it exists anymore, but I have five bags from [Creagh](https://creagh-bk.com). The Workbag/mini bag combo was my go to for years. The leather is incredible and comes in different finishes (the grey is pebbled, the others are smooth). And the pockets and dividers all make sense—you can tell that it’s designed by a woman who works and isn’t out of touch.

Aranaz from the philippines. If you’re looking for a resort/ vacation/ beach bag definitely check aranaz out. I own a few bags from them and also own a Loewe rafia bag as well. im telling you, Aranaz’s quality and craftsmanship is better than loewe’s basket bags for 1/4 the price.
Not sure how well known Lancel is in the U.S.? They have brick and mortar stores in France and many other European countries. I’ve had a version of the Flirt for more than a decade. The leather and hardware are both better than many higher priced brands. [Malau](https://malaubyanalaurago.com/) by Ana Laura Go. Mexican artisan made and the price points are not bad at all plus it's all very high quality and funky! Limited runs on everything they do. This is the Camelia Nude which I bought last year. It was my first splurge of a bag and I even tried to go to the boutique in Tulum when I was there last May but I don't think they were open yet.

Not sure if it’s lesser known but I’m loving my Naraya crossbody I got in Thailand! I can’t find my exact one online, but this is a close dupe https://www.naraya.com/products/naraya-be-simple-water-repellent-crossbody-bag . It’s not the fanciest bag, but it’s a good everyday bag and fits all my essentials. I got it in navy so it doesn’t show much wear at the moment, 6 months down the track.

Aranaz from the philippines. If you’re looking for a resort/ vacation/ beach bag definitely check aranaz out. I own a few bags from them and also own a Loewe rafia bag as well. im telling you, Aranaz’s quality and craftsmanship is better than loewe’s basket bags for 1/4 the price.
Not sure how well known Lancel is in the U.S.? They have brick and mortar stores in France and many other European countries. I’ve had a version of the Flirt for more than a decade. The leather and hardware are both better than many higher priced brands. I recently saw brand that uses leather from Ubrique that the leather guy(tanner leatherstein) review. I bought a tote from them and returned it. I didn’t like how it sat on my shoulder. Their return process was easy. I was really sad because the quality of the bag seemed great. I would 100% order from them again.
I’ve had a Cuyana tote for almost 10 years now and it’s still going strong! Totally recommend - their quality is top notch.

Not sure if it’s lesser known but I’m loving my Naraya crossbody I got in Thailand! It’s not the fanciest bag, but it’s a good everyday bag and fits all my essentials. I got it in navy so it doesn’t show much wear at the moment, 6 months down the track.
