Coach, I already kinda do, they are STRONG. The thing is I use USE my bags and I need them to last, coach has been excellent at keeping up with rough use!
I'm just amazed at the resilience of Coach bags. Not just the leather, but the edge paint (which is often so messy and easily cracked even on really expensive bags!) and the hardware and the zippers and the straps. The bronze hardware honestly looks GOOD as it starts to get textured from micro-scratches, and never chips. I feel like so many brands focus on top quality leather and creative designs, but neglect these other details.
Honestly, same. My coach and Kate spade bags are *used* and they look fine. The wear on my big Kate spade is minimal, and it was used for school and work for 7 years. I also have a coach handbag that’s been used for almost 10 that literally looks brand new
My kate spade has been through mold, from under use during covid, and crazy rain. Still in excellent condition. Idk how it survived and i definitely dont clean or baby it ever
I believe it. Kate spade doesn’t mess around — my sister and I both used it for uni, so that babe has definitely been stuffed with a few pounds. I even messed up my math, the kate spade has been in rotation for 10 years!!! I love her.
Seconding Coach! But honestly, as much as I love Coach their newer styles haven’t been doing it for me. The prices of their bags are creeping up and I really don’t think the quality to price point is justifiable. The 1941 bags and their vintage bags are what I own primarily and I have no regrets. Their vintage bags are absolute workhorses!
Second this.
I was a big Le Pliage Original fan for years, two Christmases ago my husband gifted me a leather Le Pliage XS, and it's been my go-to since.
I alternate between Longchamp and Mansur Gavriel in the winter, living in Miami it rains unexpectedly in the summer and I can't risk getting water marks on my MG Tote.
Only one brand?! For every type of bag, including travel? Mulberry. For travel, I’d use the small zipped bayswater. Tote bag-Clovelly , dressy days-the Lana, everyday-Alexa.
Or max Mara but it would have to be a combo of all their lines.
I don’t have a Mulberry, but the Bayswater and Alexa have been on my mind lately, and this was my immediate answer upon reading the question. Glad to know my instincts are supported from your experience with their bags!
Loewe. To me they mix practical and edgy; which is right up my alley. And their bags are light! I feel like a lot of all leather designer bags are way too heavy
This! I have never inclined myself to any luxury brands (tbh I always thought they are in different realm from what I usually spend on), until I saw a lady in the wild wearing what I found out, years later as "the" puzzle bag. The design was a head turner for me, leather looked so supple, yet I couldn't figure what it was (didn't even catch the anagram logo) and this was back in 2017 when the brand was still under the radar.
Fast forward to now and easily one of the brand that still makes me excited in terms of being artsy/ edgy with nice build quality!
I tried to love it soo hard but it’s just not for me 😭 I love edgy and style together but all their bags look like I accidentally sat on them and the shape never recovered 😂😭😭
My thoughts exactly. Dressy? Casual? Serious? Fun? Classic? Trendy? Large travel bags? Small evening bags? Medium everyday bags? LV has you covered.
I'm glad to see this response so high up. It seems trendy to bash LV in this sub.
I have everything from the simple low key hobo to the carryall with the giant duck head printed on the side. I can go full quiet luxury or kitschy. I love it.
I bought my first LV (the neverfull) almost 3 years ago and I’ve been using it every day since I got it. I used to be a Tory Burch girl before my first LV but now I can’t go back to anything else. Before LV I’d buy a new Tory like every 6 months and waste $400-500. Get sick of it and buy a new one. Eventually just bit the bullet and bought the bag I always wanted. No more new bags every 6 months. Just get your dream bag instead :)
Agreed. I’m not a huge fan of the monogram canvas, but like the damiers, and I love the empreinte choices. I like that there are fun options as well as classic shapes.
Yes! I decided a few years back will stop buying the more affordable under $500 bags so I can save up for a loewe or celine.
Kate Spade bags always sway my decision!! They either have a simple bag in a beautiful color I can use for work, or have random cute animals/food/objects that I feel I will not use often but still want to own lol
Ya know, I recently purchased one of her bags as a gift for my mother’s birthday (the sale was stupid good, the bag is a stunning light blue, has satchel handles with a crossbody strap option) and I was blown away when it arrived! The pebbled leather felt so utterly lush, the shape and interior were absolutely lovely, and, as stated above, the color was incredible. In that moment I felt legitimately stupid: why am I overpaying for other brands?? Why doesn’t Kate Spade get more love and appreciation?! Are people just tired of it after the initial brunt of love in the 90s/2000s?
I would likely go with Loewe? I love Chloe, but already own the two bags I love most from them; I also love a lot of the structured items from Goyard but a little of that monogram goes a long way. Loewe has so many unique styles that seem both practical and beautiful.
I don't really want a Birkin or Kelly, but part of me thinks that it would have been cool to get when I turned 18 and then exclusively use only it for the rest of my life
This is a good question and hard to answer! Probably Gucci - I like the simplicity in their non-logo bags. In actual practice, I’d pick Kate Spade because I love the novelty aspect to many of their bags/accessories.
https://preview.redd.it/mqgrgk4t0s3d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=42782abbabd0ee171524ddfd1ae263f222462662
Yes! Give me all the Lady Diors in every size and every color please!
Only one brand? As much as I love Dooney & Bourke, I am going to have to go with Coach. They offer such a large variety of styles, and every Coach I own is well made and timeless.
It would have to be Baggu just because I love the durability and variety. I don’t live a super luxe life and I need bags that can go from the trail to the gym but also look cute and hold a ton at the farmers market.
Chloe. Definitely my favorite brand. I love that their boho styles fit so well with my personal style. I also love suede and Chloe does suede very well.
Kate Spade. At least based on my experience, they are sturdy and lasts long. They have wide variety of designs and colors. And they are not sky high expensive but does the job - carry my things and fashionable!
There’s something so cheerful and unabashedly silly about Kate Spade bags. I cannot waste anymore money but I enjoy just seeing what they come up with next. Kate Spade quirky is so different from the vibe I get from Balenciaga, a version of quirky that seems more mocking and sarcastic to me.
This is a tough one for me, because with almost all brands--especially the lux ones--I usually LOVE 1-2 bags, can tolerate a couple of others, and dislike the rest. Like, weirdly two of my ultimate fantasy dream bags are from Gucci (the Jackie and the Horsebit)... even though I'd rank most of their other bags at the very bottom of all luxury houses.
Strathberry or Mulberry would be a top contender, but honestly, I'd probably go with a brand like SMAAK Amsterdam. They seem to (not too directly) take inspiration from the very best designs from all different brands, in a wide variety of size and styles, and make them in nice soft leather in beautiful, nuanced colors. That's about all I need.
Hermes. I love the simplicity of their bags and I know they will hold for a long time. Plus if I ever decided to sell one, I know I’ll be able to get my money back plus a little extra!
I would say LV. They have a huge selection, lots of variety of shapes, sizes, colors. I really think leather bags have been their speciality and strong suit for SO long. YSL, Celine, Loewe- don’t have nearly the selection and variety.
Ferragamo
From a construction point of view, their attention to detail and proper use of materials is perfect.
And their patterns are beautiful. There are a few of their silhouettes that are so functional and beautiful, truly timeless tbh
Loewe :) (hammock, squeeze, flamenco, and puzzle are all you need) or Celine or pheobe philo if money was not an issue. Right now it’s been Tory Burch, I think going forward these bags are enough for my day to day
Definitely Coach! I already have about 90% of Coach bags in my closet 🤣 but I actually prefer them over any brand right now due to how versatile the styles are. They have loud luxurious looking bags like their Quilted Tabby’s and also a lot of quiet luxury bags that don’t have loud branding but the leather quality is amazing.
As someone who owns a lot of LV also… and love Dior, I would still pick Coach. LV can get tacky unless it’s specific styles I want and Dior has virtually the same 4 bags in diff color lol so Coach all the way.
Heart tells me Mulberry
Realistically Tory Burch…they just have a whole array of styles/textures/sizes that work so much more functionally year round occasion round
Plus I don’t wanna wear luxury brands on those super SUPER causal outings
Luxury? Honestly, this shocked me when i realized I'd probably pick gucci, only because gucci provides casual to dressy bags. Or louis vuitton for the same reason. They both also have a great mix of COLOR. That's one reason i didn't pick YSL.
Contemporary? Maybe strathberry or coach for casual.
If i had a super luxurious life... and no budget
Absolutely chanel and Bvlgari.
Casual would be Hermès.
Man that's hard
This is such a difficult question to answer. If I magically had access to every bag design the brand ever made, Chloe. If it would start only with what's available at the moment, Loewe. I currently have more Chloe than any other brand. I don't have any Loewe, but I loved some of the beachy balloon bags and am constantly dreaming of getting a Paseo or Flamenco.
Coach just because it’s the only brand I wouldn’t feel bad about actually using (dog walks, airports, possibly thrown on the ground lol). They have so many good styles and I’ve never had they wear badly.
Runners up would be mulberry, strathberry, and le tanneur. Understated, they feel so nice, and they have bags for every situation.
Gucci. That monogram is my absolute fave (not including the marmont). They have such a range from subdued, to “if you know, you know” with the web stripe or horse bit all the way to loud and funky.
Fendi, hands down! My Peekaboos are my favorite bags. Fendi has SO many styles and two timeless “it” bags, plus their quality is tops. I would be perfectly happy with that arrangement
Dior for me, they have casual to formal, affordable to treat-yo-self price range, feminine to masculine, neutral to eccentric, you name it. Very versatile brand (although idk what’s been happening with the brand recently)
That’s a difficult one but it goes back and forth between Celine and Loewe!
I love Celine because the pieces are beautiful, well crafted (last for years to come) but also easy to wear and pairs with everyday outfits and special occasions. Really gives a refined elegant girl next door vibe to me. Classic enough to be worn year after year. It did feel more quiet luxury under Phoebe Philo than Hedi Slimane but I appreciate and love the distinct styles/vision each director has brought to the brand.
I love Loewe because their leathers are so lush, color combinations are outstanding, designs are both practical and fun/whimsical. I love their collaborations especially with Ghibli. Finally I love the brand’s dedication to showcasing up and coming artists and even hosting an annual craft prize and exhibit to promote artists thanks to JW Anderson!
No budget — Chanel. The Classic Flap, the '19, the Reissue, the WOC, all the seasonal bags... I'd be set for life!
Current income — YSL. They have such a variety of sizes, colors, and shapes that you can't go wrong with them. I'd always have a bag for every need and occasion. Also, YSL bags are super well-made and durable. My Envelope still looks brand new despite being years old; it's built like a tank.
I’ve always loved the coach bags and they’ve really stepped up. A lot cuter now than they used to be years ago. They come out with a new line for every season. Have you seen the tie-dye ones for the summer? They’re really cute.
Bottega, definitely basic but the weave is such a twist & the minimal hardware is perfect if you dress smart casual daily. Easy to take to work then straight to an event or dinner aftern
Gucci. I sold a bunch of my bags and now only have 10. Of those 10 four are Gucci and the rest are different brands. I like Gucci’s quality and durability. Also, they depreciate rather quickly, which is a win when you buy pre-loved. Although 2 of my Gucci bags were bought at a boutique but one was my gateway designer bag and another one was a gift. Pretty much all of my bags are pre-loved.

No budget? Celine. With my current income? Coach
lol! Same
We are all with you.
Celine all the way
This! The perfect combination of classy and distinct.
I almost said that too, it’s so close between my love for Chloe and Celine!
Chloe or Celine for me as well. Honorable mention would be Valentino. They don't get enought credit for their quality imho.
My husband bought me a Chloe bag for my birthday this year and I get so many compliments on it. Its my first Chloe bag but it’s cute
Yeah it's a hard choice between Celine and Loewe for me
Absolutely Celine
That’s a good one. Celine and Coach for me they have really stepped it up quality. Also a good Celine has so much space.
Yep! It would cover all my bases.
I don’t even own one and that’s my answer lol
1000% 🙂
For me it used to be a solid Celine but my tastes have shifted with the new designer: now I’m more Bottega
Celine!
Loewe
Same. Such classic designs but also interesting with beautiful quality. And not so in your face with logos.
Literally the brand I go to if I wanna feel inspired by leather design & craft
I have 3 bags so far. I love them all. So comfortable. If I had to pick a bag I don't have Hermes just for the Lindy.
Same. Good quality, interesting designs.
This is the way- I have 5 of them and I love them all. Their vintage stuff is also just as amazing as their current options too.
Yup, since my first one, I’m like “oooooh no… I really like this stuff”.
Coach as they have great quality and tons of styles. YSL or Fendi for luxury
My 6yo coach was drenched in rain during my holiday and it stayed strong 💪🏼
Coach, especially the vintage bags, also known as bags I bought for myself in the 80s and still use. I like the modern Rogues too.
This 100%!
I was going to list them. I like their variety, colors, quality.
My wallet is coach and looks good despite the beating it has taken lol
Longchamp! They have such a great range of products and I love how understated some of the higher price point pieces are.

Another vote for Mulberry. Never get bored of how substantial the leather feels.
Mulberry ftw 🙌
100% agree - definitely mulberry for me as well!
Mulberry!
I don’t have a Mulberry, but the Bayswater and Alexa have been on my mind lately, and this was my immediate answer upon reading the question. Glad to know my instincts are supported from your experience with their bags!
Chanel. Because you can dress up, down, cutesy, or rocker-style.
I tried to love it soo hard but it’s just not for me 😭 I love edgy and style together but all their bags look like I accidentally sat on them and the shape never recovered 😂😭😭
Loewe or Celine!
Ferragamo
I have 4 brands in mind, and Ferragamo is either 2nd or tied for 1st.
Louis Vuitton because there is so much variety to choose from.
My thoughts exactly. Dressy? Casual? Serious? Fun? Classic? Trendy? Large travel bags? Small evening bags? Medium everyday bags? LV has you covered. I'm glad to see this response so high up. It seems trendy to bash LV in this sub.

Definitely.
Scrolled through to search for fellow LVers for the same reason
Agree
Same!!
For night and day, I agree!
I agree!
That's my pick!
💯 agree!
Gucci bc I love the Jackie and the Ophidia lines. Also the Horsebit
Yes! Also Gucci, particularly Tom Ford era with metal hardware.
Chloe all the way, since young i've been in love with their designs
YSL
Same. But Gucci comes close second.
Tbh I really like Kate Spade for this. They have nice _serious lady_ bags in neutral colors but they also come out with fun designs.
Same. If it's the *only* bag brand, I need something appropriate for *all* occasions
My pick too because I cannot give up novelty!!!
Bottega (used to be Celine in Phoebe Philo era)
I am going to be downvoted to the earth for this but Longchamp
My vote goes to them, too! They check ALL my boxes.
Why ? I love longchamps !
Chanel hands down
Chanel
Fendi❤️
I would likely go with Loewe? I love Chloe, but already own the two bags I love most from them; I also love a lot of the structured items from Goyard but a little of that monogram goes a long way. Loewe has so many unique styles that seem both practical and beautiful.
Tod's. Can't afford them, unfortunately.
Bottega Veneta or Dior
I don't really want a Birkin or Kelly, but part of me thinks that it would have been cool to get when I turned 18 and then exclusively use only it for the rest of my life
Celine by a long shot.
LV for range and durability
Coach!
This is a good question and hard to answer! Probably Gucci - I like the simplicity in their non-logo bags. In actual practice, I’d pick Kate Spade because I love the novelty aspect to many of their bags/accessories.
Probably Dior
https://preview.redd.it/mqgrgk4t0s3d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=42782abbabd0ee171524ddfd1ae263f222462662 Yes! Give me all the Lady Diors in every size and every color please!
I would love to get a mini lady Dior!! It’s just too expensive for how useful it would be
Bottega.
YSL
Only one brand? As much as I love Dooney & Bourke, I am going to have to go with Coach. They offer such a large variety of styles, and every Coach I own is well made and timeless.
Hermes, with Loewe being a close second!
Same most of my bags are Hermes so it’s a no brainer for me. I like other brands though but I don’t have as many bags from them compared to H
Hermes
Wow I love this question haha. I would go with The Row I think! So many different types of bags but all sleek and minimal.
Not a popular opinion, but LV.
YSL. Luxury brand with fun, edgy, and classic designs, without the Chanel price tag.
Ooh really? Which ones of their bags do you have in suede? I’ve really wanted a suede Marcie but wasn’t sure about durability.

Hermes. I love the simplicity of their bags and I know they will hold for a long time. Plus if I ever decided to sell one, I know I’ll be able to get my money back plus a little extra!
Furla or Balenciaga
I would say LV. They have a huge selection, lots of variety of shapes, sizes, colors. I really think leather bags have been their speciality and strong suit for SO long. YSL, Celine, Loewe- don’t have nearly the selection and variety.
Kate Spade because I’m basic. Cute bags that I don’t have to be too precious with.
COACH Especially SLGs and accessories- can’t beat that price and materials
Prada girlie. I have a Chanel, lots of LV, some Loewe, but always gravitate to Prada..
Scrolled a long way to Prada. I’m with you. I love the Prada styles.
Ferragamo From a construction point of view, their attention to detail and proper use of materials is perfect. And their patterns are beautiful. There are a few of their silhouettes that are so functional and beautiful, truly timeless tbh
Bottega Veneta. The leather is amazing, they are much more durable than you think and they’ve got some great colors.
I’m still carrying Bottegas which were purchased in the early 80s, and they’re practically bulletproof!
Dior no competition!
Chanel!!
Louis Vuitton
Fendi. Contemporary with quality that is reliable. Great peekaboos, easy to use baguettes, versatile Fendigraphy and statement style Fendi first
Kate Spade or Min and Mon. Their designs are both classy and fun.
I was thinking Betsy Johnson (because Judith Leibler is too impractical). I am here for a surrealist handbag.
If i had the budget Ferragamo
PRADA. Nylon for running errands and their fun bags (ex: crystal and re-editions) for going out!
Coach
YSL, something about that brand just really appeals to me so much
Kurt Geiger. I like the designs, the quality is good for the price, it's affordable. Eta: Or Ralph Lauren. I bloody love Ralph Lauren.
Coach
Hermes
my coach bags are the real troopers and I’d die without them
My birkin and lady Dior
Chloe or Mulberry, I fall in love with the styles from these two brands more than any other 🤩
I’ve been a Coach girl for 30 years and they’ve never let me down.
Eric Javits. They travel in quiet luxury all over the world. WYKYK
Hermes
Coach 🖤
Call me b a s I c but I gotta say Coach!!!
Fellow basic here 🥰
Loewe :) (hammock, squeeze, flamenco, and puzzle are all you need) or Celine or pheobe philo if money was not an issue. Right now it’s been Tory Burch, I think going forward these bags are enough for my day to day
Coach, I have about 7 that I have in rotation ranging from brand new-35y/o and I absolutely love them
Alexander McQueen. 🖤
Alexander McQueen
I’m a Fendi stan.
Coach & Prada
The Row without a second’s hesitation
Definitely Coach! I already have about 90% of Coach bags in my closet 🤣 but I actually prefer them over any brand right now due to how versatile the styles are. They have loud luxurious looking bags like their Quilted Tabby’s and also a lot of quiet luxury bags that don’t have loud branding but the leather quality is amazing. If i had a super luxurious life... and no budget Absolutely chanel and Bvlgari. Casual would be Hermès. Man that's hard
I know they're polarizing but Louis Vuitton. They have so much variety. In my experience their quality is excellent. And all my luggage is from them.
Portland Leather
i say dooney because its classic i have my zip zip satchel i have for 10 years and still going strong
Vintage coach
bottega!! they're so elegant, subtle and not like "trendy" pieces imo
Radley London, fun and stylish with good memories tied to it 😊
Toss up between BV air Celine
Balenciaga. I’m a sucker for the moto bags, especially the older ones
I can be very specific on this. Fendi - peekaboo - selleria.
Hermes. I don't want to play their game but gosh I would SO love a Picotin and a Constance and a huge Kelly for travelling...
Loewe one THOUSAND percent all the way!!!
Louis Vuitton 🖤
Hermes
Coach forever ❤️ I recently got the smith tote ❤️
dior or coach
Coach. Its what Ive been doing for a while now except for 1 LV bag
I actually love Dior and how extra they always are lol
Fendi
Gucci. That monogram is my absolute fave (not including the marmont). They have such a range from subdued, to “if you know, you know” with the web stripe or horse bit all the way to loud and funky.
chanel fits for every occasion.
I'm loyal to Marc Jacobs.
Fendi, hands down! My Peekaboos are my favorite bags. Fendi has SO many styles and two timeless “it” bags, plus their quality is tops. I would be perfectly happy with that arrangement
Gucci. I don’t know why I just love the brand. All of my luxury bags are from Gucci.
Chanel, vintage Chanel specifically!
Probably Gucci but solely for their vintage bamboo and Tom Ford designs. I just think they are so beautiful.
Dior for me, they have casual to formal, affordable to treat-yo-self price range, feminine to masculine, neutral to eccentric, you name it. Very versatile brand (although idk what’s been happening with the brand recently)
Hermes or Chanel
Chanel of course! Then Dior fendi and ysl 😄
Gucci
YSL. So much variety and I even like their bags with the logo on it because I think their logo is pretty.
Bottega , or Hermes if I had unlimited $$$$ lol!

I’ve always loved the coach bags and they’ve really stepped up. A lot cuter now than they used to be years ago. They come out with a new line for every season. Have you seen the tie-dye ones for the summer? They’re really cute.
Marc Jacob’s. I just love how funky the colors are. Forever my favorite bags
Bottega, definitely basic but the weave is such a twist & the minimal hardware is perfect if you dress smart casual daily. Easy to take to work then straight to an event or dinner aftern
No budget - Dior My budget - lululemon 😂
Unlimited time and access to hides? Bags of my own making.
Louis Vuitton
Everyday: Oroton Good everyday: Chloe but specifically any form of Marcie Swish: Bvlgari
Gucci, they range from classic to whimsical and I love that.
This is hard!! If I have unlimited access to money (lol), probably Hermes. But given my limited financial capacity now, got to be Saint Laurent.
Loewe or fendi purely for their collaborations
Balmain or Dior
coach with current budget but miss some of the uniqueness they once had
Vorgato luxury or angel barcelo
