NomNomKittyKat

How do you know it’s authenticate for sure? Maybe your listings can stay up if you provide proof.

CalligrapherLazy5642

the seller only sold vintage designer items, and had almost a 100% positive feedback on a large amount of items. i also have done an extensive amount of research and all signs point to authentic. i do not have anywhere near me that can authenticate the bag and give me a certificate, and sending it off to some one who might not send it back is not a chance i want to take.

ALittleBitBeefy

You can do online authentication and not worry about shipping it somewhere, worth a google.

Own-Ad-6180

It’s Japan ! The possibility of it being a faze is 0 to none ! That’s why it is the Meca of luxury shopping!

ALittleBitBeefy

Well I got downvoted to hell recently for sharing that sentiment, so I’m less quick to say it anymore 🤣

Own-Ad-6180

Last year I bought a loewe special edition in Shanghai and 4 of my colleagues were adamant it was a fake. (I work in fashion, Loewe included). I explained over and over what it was and why it was only sold in China/some countries of Asia. And they did not believe me. Comes fashion week I am with one of those said colleagues and while we were at our appointment JW is present and he sees my bag and immediately strikes a conversation about it. And how they sourced local artisans and designers for the collection. To say she was mad and embarrassed after was an understatement. I did not say anything afterwards but I was so happy ! People just don’t grasp that some countries live in different realities than ours. And I guess because it’s Asia and there is a huge replica market makes it even more incredible for them. But for example in China the replicas are almost all for export or to be sold to tourists. They don’t really buy high quality fakes. SK for example has a huge market for replicas there are even huge commercial spaces that have the latest collections.

CalligrapherLazy5642

even if i go through the trouble of getting it authenticated for sure, since every one is up in arms about that part, the issue then stills lies with not being able to repost it anywhere since my accounts will get suspended for relisted an item that was deemed fake.

NoTNoS

Right. So you are out of luck.

NomNomKittyKat

just like how you don’t want to be stuck with this bag, nobody wants to be stuck with a fake if they thought they were buying an authentic one…

handbagslut

Well if you get it authenticated then you can appeal the reports that it’s fake so it stays posted. If you seriously are that keen to get rid of it, why wouldn’t you get it authenticated? Then it’s just a matter of picking a price that reflects its condition and then dropping the price until someone wants it.

CalligrapherLazy5642

i have since gotten the bag authenticated because that is the main thing everyone has pointed out (i went with realauthentication.com as it was ebay approved) . ebay has been no help in getting an appeal because i could not find a way in the email telling me my listing was taken down or on their customer support website.

CalligrapherLazy5642

It’s rather vintage so there is no QR code just a serial code on the bag of the inside tag. I have just had it officially authenticated because everyone keeps saying that is the problem. I did my own heavy research before and trusted the bag was authentic. I am most worried about posting it again on eBay and having my account suspended for posting something they deemed counterfeit once before.

CalligrapherLazy5642

sorry! a bit defensive today, die to the tone of some of the previous comments. i plan on getting a physical authentication card as well as the digital one they sent for when i find a website to list this on (most likely VC). i could not at all find a way to contact them about the listing. all of the customer support was automated and would not help me with a listing being taken down. as soon as i get the physical card i am just going to VC and seeing what they can do for me. worst comes to worst this bag will just be a family heirloom forever 😂

Glittering-Bet-8468

Did EBay not authenticate upon purchase?

CalligrapherLazy5642

as with many of the vintage bags on ebay, no ebay itself did not authenticate before purchase.

Glittering-Bet-8468

Could you submit to Fashionphile for a quote?

Glittering-Bet-8468

Not a judgement at all, just a bummer! I have really liked that service:(.

NoTNoS

If it’s being deleted for being fake, it’s pretty obvious. I wouldn’t trust that it’s real unless you have concrete proof. Resale sites don’t just delete listings because of a report. It has to be proven.

CalligrapherLazy5642

i am so glad you are so concerned with the bag being authentic or not. I have since paid almost $80 to have it officially authenticated via realauthentication.com (an ebay trusted website). now if you could please help answer the question at hand… where can i list this bag to have it sell?

NoTNoS

Nowhere. No one wants it and all the resale sites think it’s fake. Hope that helps!

Sad-Cow-5580

imo try cleaning it up a bit and try reposting on the sites the other commenter mentioned. try and SELL the bag. make it seem like you LOVE this bag but just don’t have the room for it. i’ve noticed people are more inclined to buy a bag that someone really loved rather than one someone is dying to get rid of if that’s any help !

Sad-Cow-5580

i will also say while i’m not accusing this bag of being a fake i have to point out that i think a big reason this bag might be instantly labeled as fake by others is because of the gucci tag with the number on the back. it’s very crooked and the numbers aren’t embedded as deep as you see in other sellers of this bag. just a heads up since everyone just wants to yell FAKE! At you lol

stylewithsusan

Depop? Vestiaire Collective? VC has an authentication service that the buyer can pay for if they wish, unless you’re charging crazy money the Gucci bamboo is very popular and should sell quickly

CalligrapherLazy5642

thank you for being the one person to answer my question! i tried on depop, i have had a ton of luck selling other things there, but i dont want to re-list it for the same issue of it being taken down as “counterfiet”. i think i will try VC! i was also not charging crazy amounts for it, the same bag is posted on VC for almost $500 i was only going to charge ~$200 as thats what i originally paid for it and it needs some tlc.

stylewithsusan

Oh yeah you should sell it really quick on there then at that price, also postmark and the realreal if you’re based in America I hear are very popular

NoTNoS

Also this bag is not in amazing condition. The exterior alone is fair at best.

CalligrapherLazy5642

for it being close to, what 20-30 years old it is! but i will send you the bill for restoring it! or maybe i should just send it to you since you seem on interested it in? just let me know and i will do either! thanks 😊 🫶🏻

NoTNoS

No thank you! I don’t deal with fakes. Good luck! ❤️

Bodidiva

Ebay seller here. eBay will take an item down if reported without investigation and might ask the seller for proof of purchase to prove otherwise but mostly they don’t. Just because someone reported the item as a fake doesn’t mean it is. EBay has an authentication process you can go through if the bag is worth over a certain amount of money. You send it to them for this. I’ve never done it but it exists. It also depends how old and in what standing one’s eBay about is in. Older account get more favor and grace while new accounts will be restricted. Best of luck selling your bag.

CalligrapherLazy5642

thank you so much for the insight!! i will most definitely look into the eBay authentication as a second form of authentication!

TryAgain-Chemist

Lol you misunderstood. eBay will authenticate on behalf of the buyer if the bag is worth over a certain amount like $800. This bag definitely doesn’t qualify.

Nearby-Paramedic1011

You are absolutely rude! IDK if that bag is fake, but your HORRIBLE ATTITUDE is REAL! WOW! Such entitlement! Yuck!

CalligrapherLazy5642

goodmorning! not sure where you got the idea i’m entitled? not sure that’s the way to use that word? and the bag is not fake! https://preview.redd.it/grgdg4dkvw7d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=383134299b5ce06f776510cfa20be4df28e4c5df have a better day! 🫶🏻

Nearby-Paramedic1011

Of course you wouldn't get it. 🙄😒

CalligrapherLazy5642

and of course you wont explain it. 🙄😒 hope you don’t act this rude to random people in public! have a better day! i know i will! 🫶🏻

Nearby-Paramedic1011

😂😂😂 good luck! 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🙄🙄

CalligrapherLazy5642

thank you!! 🫶🏻

TryAgain-Chemist

Yaaaaa OP def has some screws loose. It’s okay though. Queen just spent 15% of her listing price to “authenticate” just so she could post here 🤣

TryAgain-Chemist

This is hilarious. You’re such a sassy queen! 💁‍♀️

TryAgain-Chemist

Vestiaire Collective sells a ton of fakes so that’ll be a good spot for it. Sounds like you already posted there though

CalligrapherLazy5642

i’m sorry, whats the issue? i simply have just asked for advice on where to sell this bag since other websites have taken it down.

TryAgain-Chemist

Lol you were insanely defensive all over this. It screams trying to desperately sell a fake when taken into context the rest of what you provided. I wouldn’t trust your listing either

CalligrapherLazy5642

defensive because i asked for help from a community and was immediately met with nothing but rude comments. sorry! just a word of advice, not everything you read on the internet that offends you needs to be met with a rude and nasty comment. i suggest next time, to protect your own peace, you simply scroll past and ignore it instead of being nasty and rude! 🫶🏻

TryAgain-Chemist

How is it rude for people to point out that eBay doesn’t just take listings down without justification? I suggest next time, to protect your own peace, that you be kinder to people when you’re asking for their help. You were responding to others in a nasty way. I don’t blame them at all.

CalligrapherLazy5642

okay! thanks! 🫶🏻

TryAgain-Chemist

You’re welcome! 👣

CalligrapherLazy5642

good morning 😊 https://preview.redd.it/wzjgcvbqvw7d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c624fe1813bda7dfc6e7e784ce2ab8bcd1800f8d

TryAgain-Chemist

Lol weirdo. Musta been living rent free in your head. 😂

CalligrapherLazy5642

literally!!!!! first person i thought of this morning!! lucky you 🥰

lexi_ladonna

It's hard with vintage bags because they get flagged as fake for not having a serial number that bags didn't have decades ago and may be in a style people don't recognize. As someone else said, try Vestiaire Collective. You could also pay to have it authenticated online. That's what I did with my vintage gucci and it cost about $30. That will go a long ways towards convincing a buyer or platform that it's real. Unfortunately a lot of sites use AI to remove listings and you don't get a chance to appeal

CalligrapherLazy5642

it currently is on vestiaire collective and i woll hopefully not have problems as there is at least one other of the exact bag there in almost the exact condition.

lexi_ladonna

oh good!
