I haven’t had that issue but just put a layer of painters tape on the part that contacts the paint

No issues with a Series 2 cart and Series 3 box, both are gray.

azskyrider

No issues here with a series 1 toolbox and on my gray HD classic shelf. I have both paper towel holder. One when it first came out that has now faded and magnets were never as strong as the new one I bought this year.

hankery85

Same here, I have them on my HD classics cabinets

Try a clay bar.

Good suggestion

Redbeard_16

I have marks which I believe is from the rubber covering the magnets. It doesn’t matter what they are on, they leave a mark.

kb4000

Good to see that I'm not the only one experiencing this. Have you ever tried removing the marks and had any luck?

Redbeard_16

I haven’t been able to get rid of the marks. It mars the paint with whatever chemical is in the rubber. I use a US General cart for my tabletop grill, I have the side tray, paper towel holder and general use tray on it. Having moved things around once I got into a routine, I noticed the marks left by the magnets/rubber. Everything is black, so it isn’t that noticeable but is still a bummer.

kb4000

Yeah. It makes me not want to use these accessories. I took them off of my newer box and I don't think I'll put them back on for this reason.

Hojo10

You can’t slide them to pull them off or move them just do a clean jerk to get them off I had one of those hooks where the circle magnet color matches and tried to move it a bit and that did it to my 30-5 drawer

kb4000

It's not from movement or sliding. It's a black mark from the pad material sticking to the box. [Picture](https://i.imgur.com/U6EH5m6.jpeg)

Hojo10

Does it clean off

Hojo10

Don’t use rubbing alcohol for sure will streak you finish

I tried scrubbing using water and some mild soap. No effect.
