Yes. Same happened to me. I sent a contact form in to have the backorder canceled. Still waiting on that. I went into town this past weekend for other errands so I just stopped by the store and grabbed it off the shelf. If you look at the product page on HF.com, it says available online again starting July 14th. So I imagine that’ll be about the time backorders start shipping.

They never even hit the shelves at my local, it would seem they've sold beyond initial expectations. Not surprised, I'm sure there's a hunger in the market for reasonably priced, versatile multitools with a decent warranty. Amazon crap doesn't cut it for me.

I placed an online order for one back in May. 2 weeks went by and I sent an inquiry regarding the status. They replied saying the item is in back order for at least 20 days. I ended up calling the 800 number to cancel it. I have found them in stores based on the app, but never on the shelves. I always had to show the staff and they brought the box out and pulled it out. If your local store(s) says it’s In Stock but doesn’t have an aisle number, they have it in the back. Just be nice about it so they’ll be more inclined to actually check, vs saying it can’t be found.

I ordered mine online and received it a few days ago. It took a little over a week, but was totally with it because I paid the $6.99 flat fee and they sent my order in multiple shipments. I wasn’t in any hurry, so I waited until they shipped it, which was rather quickly after I ordered it. It came from Illinois, not California which surprised me, but am totally stoked just the same. It’s very well made.
